This Korean restaurant offers a great variety of food. I’ve been here a few times for dinner before, and the quality has always been good. My favourites are the beef and mushroom hotpot (especially during the colder season), the sweet potato chips and the newest addition to the menu; the spicy ramen! All-in-all, affordable and delicious food. Staff are friendly and the service is fast.

Terrific place for a quick and tasty lunch. I had one of the lunch specials today. Beef with curry with a drink for $10. The meal was headlined as beef as stated but then the description said chicken. I like beef and chicken so took my chances.
This was a serious lunch steal. The quality of the meat (it was beef!) was good. The veggies were great too, particularly the carrots. The rice was beautifully cooked as well and wonderful with the soft curry.
It all made for a very satisfying and cheap lunch dish. Add very polite and efficient service and you’ve got a very good cafe I reckon.
The kimchi pancake and sauce combo is out of this world!! Nothing disappoints at Masil. The pork and beef bulgogi's, the bibimbaps, whether eat in or takeaway, have never disappointed. This is my go to for Korean in the Richmond/Abotsford area. Staff are always great too!

Their Soft Silken Tofu hotpot stew was so flavourful and it wasn't like other restaurants where they used plain water as a base stock.
Their Ddeobokki however was watery though but it was still nice. Would've liked it better if it was thicker!

Masil is open on Sunday! I tried their original, soy sauce and spicy sauce fried chicken. Other highlights: ramen tteokbokki, cheese corn, kimchi jjeon, takoyaki, and ossam bulgogi.
Proceed will go to charity - now this is new! Good knowing that we pay for quality food, while helping others in need 😊

Highly recommend all flavours of the fried chicken here. We came to the restaurant 2 days consecutively just for it. The seafood soup was quite spicy but still yummy. I think the original price was reasonable compared to other fried chicken brands like Sam Sam or Nene. Will definitely come back next time. :)
Ate here last week to take advantage of their reopening special. Went all in on the boneless fried chicken which was crispy and delicious - loved the heat level in the spicy version, I'll definitely be back!
This is the best Korean on Victoria Street and I've been to all of them. Favourite meals are the fried chicken, Bipbimbap and any of the hot pots (it cooks away right in front of you and your guest - so food).
Vibe is quite a bit nicer than cheap and cheerful vietnamese. Prices are a little higher (you'll feel stuffed off ~$20 per person) but I think that's in line with the rest of the street - very reasonable for good quality food.
SADLY, MASIL IS NO MORE. IT HAS CLOSED IT'S DOORS FOR GOOD.
Currently our place of choice on Victoria St - and hope that it lasts longer than the previous Korean restaurant in the same premises (the great Arisoo). Things looked ominous for Masil - they opened and then closed a few months later - but thankfully only for a complete refit (and a new menu).
The new Masil fit-out is considerably better than the first - lighter, more welcoming place. The welcome remains warm and friendly and the menu has that right amount of choice without being impossible to chose from. Pork gyoza and creamy croquette to begin. Gyoza tasty but slightly odd in bottom crispy/fried, top soft: result was consistency of pastry! But the croquettes were divine. Huge spicy pork bibimbap was a delight, full of flavours but with a touch of blandness to offset: other side of the table the original crispy chicken received double thumbs up.
Service was great. We were greeted warmly and the two waitresses were very friendly and helpful. We were seated right away and handed the menu. Grace ordered the kimchi fried rice whereas I ordered the fried chicken cup bab.
Grace said the kimchi fried rice was good except it was abit oily. Other than that, she enjoyed it and it was only $10 if i'm not mistaken. The cup bab was okay to me. It was a little bland but relatively filling.
Would come back to try the chicken!

What a gem 💎 located conveniently on my street - they will be expecting my patronage every other week!
Been there twice, had Masil Fried Chicken, cheesed corn, spicy stews with rice, with sides of pickled vegetables. Fried chicken was tender, fresh and delicious - neither greasy nor dry; cheesed corn had this gorgeous mildly sweet, milky fragrance to it (we couldn't have enough of it!!!); spicy stew was rich and wholesome in flavour, could do with more pork in it; and I swear their kimchi was the BEST I ever had - I could snack on a whole tub of it.
Service was excellent - they were happy to accommodate an order that was no longer available on the menu. We were told by the owner that they are planning to expand their menu soon - looking forward to more great selections!
Don't be fooled - their interior design looks fancy enough to pass off as fine dine (ironically not the same as shown in the zomato cover photo), yet food is SO affordable.
With winter around the corner, I'll be heading there frequently for a hearty bowl of stew and some scrumptious fried chicken! Note to self: try glass noodles next time. Thumbs up!! 👍👍👍👍👍

Very nice place and good atmosphere. I was here for a quick lunch and had their pork bibimbap lunch special for only $8. The bibimbap tasted good, but more meat will be nicer to balance the amount of rice. The staff is lovely. Would love to come here again with more friends to try other things.
Why is there not a queue to get into this sensational restaurant? The food was outstanding! So tasty, fresh and yum!! Highly recommend the MFC-original fried chicken and the kimchi pancake!! Get on board!!!! You won't be disappointed!!!

It comes with Coleslaw too, which reminded me of that Colonel with a triangular white beard... Kentucky Fried Chicken .. The original KFC.
However, I like this version if KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) better. Crispier (looks healthier too), so much better and of course pricier.
Check out other dishes on their Menu, they are good too. Especially the lunch specials; value for money.
Cooool venue On Victoria St, Richmond, 4-5 months young, cool, comfortable furniture, and should there be the spacious, cleanest and funky toilet competition, this place will win it, hands down.

When Arisoo closed up shop I felt lost and was in denial, I couldn't believe my favourite local Korean joint had disappeared! After a period of respectful mourning I decided to give Masil a go. I'm happy to report that Masil is an excellent culinary addition to Victoria Street.
We dined as a party of 4 on a Friday night and it was very quiet in the restaurant. The food and service however was on point. All ingredients were fresh and dishes were reasonably priced.
- Fried chicken was amazingly crispy and succulent, one of the best KFC's in town I daresay!
- Pork bulgogi and chive pancake was an interesting twist on the usual kimchi pancake
- Handmade pan-fried kimchi and pork dumplings went down a treat
- Stonepot beef bibimbap was also excellent
Overall a great experience, if you're around the area and feeling like some fried chicken - don't hesitate.
I would say the restaurant 4.5 stars but I think this place deserves some love and hype, check it out :)
I had 13 hungry people after a busy day of moving. Thanks to Masil, saved my day! Scrumcheous bulgogi, crispy but juicy fried chickens even after they got cold. Masil's sealed packaging keeps the food so fresh and its original flavour we would feel like eating in the restaurant!
Whatsmore? How sensational! They even packed the seal cutter so that we don't need look for something to cut the package!

Really appreciate the fact that Masil's dishes are consistently served at their best quality every time we go there. The quality of its food is matched by their friendly, warm and helpful services. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very cozy; tip top cleanliness is always maintained from the utensils that we use at the table to the water closet (WC); and the street view of one of Melbourne's most popular food districts through the large glass window is an extra bonus. Personally, the few must try dishes would be the fresh sashimi (extremely fresh), kimchi and spring onion pancake (thin and crispy so tasty that the sauce is no longer a necessity), and pan fried dumplings (the perk is its homemade skin). The side condiments that they serve is also absolutely lovely. I wish they sell their kimchi in tubs for customer to take home.
Last weekend, I went this place with my friends. I have seafood pancake,sashimi,eel bibimbab,and budae soup. The food was awesome, and soooo yum!

We have been to Masil a couple of times now and will certainly be regular repeat customers. It has a really nice relaxed feel and the staff are all very friendly while still offering great service.
There are so so many dishes I could recommend at this place. The sashimi is so fresh and is great quality, some of the best we have had in Melbourne!
The Buchu Jeon Ssam (vegetable pancake with spicy pork) is good. The Grilled beef ribs are really tasty.

This new place could seriously give Gami a run for their money! We ordered via Deliveroo the boneless half chicken and the pork bulgogi. Unlike Gami, even with half the chicken we could order 2 flavours, so we did - sweet chili and soy garlic. The other two options were original and spicy - so basically the same line up as Gami. Well the chicken was on point, moist, tasty, and crunchy on the outside. We found the texture was a bit better (crunchier) than Gami and the sweet chili was slightly tastier as well. The pork bulgogi was also excellent - balanced and went really well with all the veggies. We really appreciate the fact that they provided all sorts of containers for everything, even the pork bulgogi was sealed professionally and came with a little plastic cutter! We have nothing to complaint, bravo Masil!
Masil has changed its interior and menu recently. There were variety of sashimi which i took photo of and added in here. Sashimi was beautifully presented and was delicious. It went well with sake and beer. Orion tap beer was both smooth and sparkling which i enjoyed. They still have yummy fried chicken and we all enjoyed again.

The service was really efficient and being hungry we ordered lots of food. We started with 20 assorted sashimi which was amazing!!
Then we had the Masil special casserole which was equally amazing!

I am crazy about Korean food so has been looking around to find good tasted Korean food. I went there with my family as soon as I heard about the restaurant from one of my friends. We ordered Budae soup and Bibimbabs.. They were so ~~~ YUMMY... the price was also resonable.
