The place and the staff are lovely. Really enjoyed the Bao bun. Husband had traditional Ramen which he really liked however the vegetarian ramen soup lacked flavours. Overall, a good experience.
BEST RAMEN EVER!! My favourites are Tan Tan Men and Hainan Chicken Miso. Always consistent and honestly so so tasty and fresh.
So tasty and fresh! Food was beautiful!
Really yum Ramen. Believe it or not this was my first Ramen experience and i picked the right place. I ordered from Ubereats, it came quickly, was still nice and hot, and egg still perfectly cooked. Highly recommend
Dropped in for a late Saturday lunch as this place tends to be packed out most times we head down to Victoria St (and that's a lot!). Caught the tale end of a large group of guys - and whilst friendly enough, on the loud side!
But this was a late lunch, so kept it simple - a bowl of ramen. Totally spoilt for choice - and not being a ramen 'expert' moreorless stuck a pin in the extensive options. And it was truly superb - #2 on the list, the Tonkotsu shio: pork bone broth, pork belly and described 'as the true taste of hakata, the capital of tonkotsu ramen'. Divine. It's generally more expensive than most ramens elsewhere ($20) but I'll be back to try more.
Delicious surprise in this area. Huge serving size of quality food. Had truffle ramen (loved having the spoon of truffle on top), chicken, crab croquttes and lobster bun. All of the above for less than $65 + drinks.
delicious ramen, great dinner place that’s quiet and dark so it has good vibes. there’s only 50 bowls of their signature ramen per day and i highly recommend it!
Tried three different broths with my family. They are not strong and well-balanced flavours, but not salty at all. Very impressive! The pork belly was massive.
The best ramen I've had in Melbourne, and the biggest range of Japanese craft beers I've ever seen. fantastic and enjoyed the soft shell crab and rice dish. Did not try ramen. Staff were great.
So many many vegan options I almost fell off my seat. Everything was delicious! I loved the kimchi ramen and their vegan duck bao. The portions are very generous. Will definitely visit again.
Lots of tasty vegetarian options.
The sheer speed of this place makes it worthy of a visit when you're in a rush. It is also by no measure an indication that it's not good ramen. It's good.
Lots of choices, was so hard to choose which Ramen to get! Got the black truffle ramen and Hokkaido miso ramen - both were tasty and generous portion. Tried their crab croquettes and that was good too. Service was great. Definitely coming back to try all other ramens :)
Tried one of the cocktails, it was very smooth to drink and the taste was very balanced! They also have a whiskey based pork belly ramen, which is very delicious, I highly recommend trying that too.
The Gyoza was amaaaaaazing! Probably the best one i tried in days! The ramen was good, the broth can be improved with n consistency, maybe a little bit smoother in texture and slightly thick. Overall great food 👍🏻
It's a interesting restaurant with Japanese and other Asian fusion dishes. Sometimes when restaurant does this I would said no. But surprisingly this time I like it and I would come back for more
We ordered the ramen and it was delicious. The restaurant and staff were great. I loved the choice of hip hop beats that were playing subtly in the background. Highly recommend.
The tan tan men - #1 selling ramen as stated by the restaurant, and I am sure I have personally contributed to that status. First of all, I FROFF this broth but It is imperative to point how the way in which the ramen keeps on delivery. As you can see the parts are separated appropriately and the broth is wrapped air tight to contain its heat and flavour. The noods and mince are immediately cooked through perfectly once the broth is applied, it truely travels perfectly, a very underrated factor when ordering delivery.
Now on the meal itself. What an incredible richness in flavour and colour, a perfect medium viscosity in broth with a beautiful consistency in the mince and softness with the noods. Each part perfectly complementing the next, combining to this flawless combination. I am a hopeless ramen-tic...
4.5. We had an excellent lunch at this relaxed and casual restaurant. The service is prompt and friendly, and the food comes out fresh and fast. We shared the kakuni, coney dog and fried chicken katsu baos. My fav was the chicken (hot and crispy) whilst my partner liked the coney dog best. All were tasty and well marinated. The karaage popcorn chicken was well battered, had a nice sweetness to it, and was matched well with the mayo and lemon. The purple sweet potato croquettes were ok, i liked the sauce. My favourite though, was the black truffle shoyu ramen. There was a generous amount of truffle, which didn't overwhelm the delicious, rich savoury broth and the noodles were a perfect balance between firm and chewy, simply divine. One of the better ramen I've had in Melbourne. A little expensive, but good food and selection of drinks. Recommended.
The restaurant was super clean and retro (with decorative cups, bottles, lighting and decor). I really love the chill vibes of it all. Bonus points for late night opening hours. Menu had a variety of ramen option which I love!! The truffle was definitely unique in flavour. Some people could have been easily sicken by the taste as it was mushroom overload but I didn’t mind it. The karage chicken was so so so delicious!! The powder made it a little sweeter. Must try! Can’t wait to come back :)
Love the Curry Laksa Ramen and the Tan Tan Men. The broth is super flavourful, and works well with the noodles and vegetables. The pork mince in the Tan Tan Men is really tasty, and the puffed tofu in the Curry Laksa Ramen soaks up the broth well. Great food, great service.
Been here a couple of times - not sure I recall the vegan signage out the front on any other visit.. We were a bit worried maybe we wouldn't be able to get pork ramen anymore but alas, we did!
Friendly service, big menu and a good variety of beers.
Would recommend if you're looking for ramen in the area.
Amazing place. Extra starts for all the veg and vegan options. Very casual ambience. Ramen was amazing. We also ordered a vegan fried chicken which was great with yummy terriyaki sauce. Bit overpriced. But still pretty good.
Eat. Sleep. Create. Repeat.

Found varieties of food options in the menu, took a while to decide on the ramen, finally went for the soft shell crab Laksa ramen. It was tasty! Not as spicy as it looked, I personally rate this version higher than the Malaysian version.
The vegan fried chicken was a bit disappointed - would rather name it “vegan Crispy chicken”. The vegan pork bao tasted okay, good option as a starter if being too hungry to wait for the ramen.
The Music was a bit loud in the beginning and the staff was happy to turn it down for us.
Rating: 4/5
Wow what a surprise! I had a late night and was craving some ramen open late, since shizuku was on eatclub for 30% off, why not? At 12:30am it’s definitely quiet however that didn’t ruin the ambience which is more of a dark relaxed one with chill vibes.
I didn’t expect much as i didn’t do prior research, but upon looking at the menu i did think it was surpringly more towards the expensive side of a ramen joint. I quickly realised this was because of the quality of the food.
A lot of effort put into presentation, all dishes were quick to arrive and really delicious!
Definitely try:
Katsu prawn bao - soft bao with delicious crunchy prawn and a unique zesty sauce
Chicken karaage - chicken could’ve been more moist but it was deliciously crisp and the sauce was perfect
Takoyaki balls - definitely a highlight, presentation was new and unique whilst flavours were top notch
The ramen was good, however not the best i’ve had
Service was very prompt and attentive as well so overall a great all round restaurant! I definitely recommend visiting shizuku with or without a discount!
Thank you for your hospitality
Wow, what a find. The ramen we got here was absolutely top notch. The gyoza and baos made great entrees but the star is well and truly the ramen. The tonkotsu shoyu ramen in particular was amazing, with a punchy garlicky broth. Will definitely be back, and highly recommended.
Brilliant! We had a combination of snacks, entrees and mains and all were very well done. The baos were particularly soft and their fillings were bang on. The crab croquettes were crispy on the outside and the inside melted in our mouths. The okonomiyaki were creatively placed on skewers and tasty. The ramen was well cooked and so was the broth. Only let down was the dry/over cooked pulled meat that came with the ramen.
Shoyu ramen which was a bit expensive at $18. It had roasted pork belly, an egg, bamboo shoots, spring onions, and a home brewed soy sauce broth.
According to the place, the soy sauce flavoured broth is the ultimate tokyo classic so I had to choose this one.
It was pretty good, flavourful and the noodles were chewy.
So far my fave ramen joint when ever I’m needing a ramen fix. Honestly ramen has never been the same since visiting Japan (Heaven), but this place is as close as I can find. Try the Hokkaido & Spicy Tonkotsu Miso Ramen. Best Baos I’ve tasted in Melb too plus an ever changing quirky beer menu...Love! This place is super busy, so book ahead.
Came here for a feast using an EatClub voucher. I'd been wanting to try for a while after being tempted by their Vegemite gyoza on ubereats. We tried those and some purple sweet potato croquettes to start. First off, the Vegemite was such a great complement to the dumplings, given its strong umami flavour. The croquettes were really qualify, stuffed with chestnuts and perfectly sweet potato. To follow, a vegan fried chicken special plus laksa risotto. Both weren't what I expected -the "chicken" was just fried beancurd skin. It was more crispy than meaty and a bit too oily. I wouldn't been upset if I'd paid full price. The laksa risotto was much less of a risotto than I'd hoped. It was essentially just laksa with brown rice thrown in instead of noodles. While tasty, the menu description was misleading. However, I threw my chicken into the broth to moisten it up and this made both dishes much better. Would go back to try the extensive beer selection and the baos.
So sorry for the half eaten photo as it smelt so good that I started eating before I remembered to take photos to share it with you guys. This Raman surprised me with the amazing taste and the noodles taste great. Highly recommended it!
So glad we made the trip from Ascot Vale, it was delicious, satisfying, totally hit the spot. We had vegemite gyoza, sweet potato croquette, and a pork and chicken ramen. Friendly attentive service. Hopefully they would consider to open a ramen place on our side of town.
Had the spicy laksa in the lunch deal. Wooooooaaah it was spicy! The enjoyable kinda spicy, not the ‘i cant have another bite cause this burnt my intestines’ kinda spicy. Great place for lunch. Especially with those prices on offer. Nice place for a beer too, come to think of it.
Had the tan tan men. Little suspicious of the menu, as generally when it comes to Ramen, trying to do amillion varieties doesn't usually equate to quality, and this place has a big menu!
Glad to report that the tan tan men was quite good. Balanced amount of heat (no numbing spice? With a flavorful broth. Noodles were nice and chewy.
It's 5 stops on the train for me to get here for lunch, but I'll try get here and try one of the other ramens.
Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and was pleasantly surprised. A small dimly lit ramen joint in “colourful” part of Abbotsford. They serve craft beers and a wide selection of ramen and rice dishes with an interesting Japanese arcade game. It wasn’t too busy and on this day and an eclectic crowd of diners surrounded us. We tried the Tonkotsu Shio which was a Berkshire pork bone broth which was quite tasty and the Laksa chicken ramen that was okay however only mildly spicy but I gave them bonus points for serving a decent amount of chicken. You can also order more toppings. The prices aren’t super affordable at around $20 a bowl of noods but worth a visit if you’re in the area. Apparently the gyoza are popular but I’ll have to come back to give them a whirl!
The bao buns were THE best I’ve had! Especially the prawn katsu; crunchy, tasty and moreish.. that dish pulled the rating from a 3. The cauliflower popcorn tasted good but was too chunky and the san choy bau had waaay too much juice leaking.
Ugh, Wanted to rank this place a 3.5 but it's certainly not bad enough to be a 3.
I genuinely thought the food is good. Truffle ramen sounds a bit gimmicky but the broth base in itself is quite creamy and steep. Noodles were al dente and the proteins weren't bad.
Fried chicken is ok though.
I used an eatclub deal to eat here and I can't fathom paying full price here knowing that certain ramen joints are making top notch ramen, in comparison to said top notch ramen joints, for a portion of the cost.
But the food is still good. Maybe next time I'll try the laksa ramen.
More like a 3.5ish I think.
We were super excited to try this place because of the truffle ramen. My boyfriend has been obsessed with truffle ramen since he tried it in London a few years back.
The truffle and mushroom paste was indeed very truffly and delicious, however, I generally prefer a bone broth rather than a soy one and didnt realise we could've just had the paste added to their standard pork broth, which i will definitely come back to try.
The broth itself I found rather salty, which I also found for Ippudo, so maybe it's just me? Maybe ramen is supposed to be salty? I really liked the addition of the crunchy pork bits, was very enjoyable to eat.
This was the first time i had firm noodles and I have been converted, it was so good. The gyoza was nice, but could've been a tad warmer.
Overall we were satisfied and cant wait to come back.
On the bustling Victoria St precinct in Abbotsford, a rather creative ramen restaurant popped into radar on my usual weekly ramen adventures, so I stayed for lunch.
Shizuku boasts an impressive menu, lots of interesting dishes and a long drinks list. On the day, Black truffle shoyu ramen piqued my interest along with a Kyoto matcha IPA beer.
Brilliant! And very unique. A spoonful of rich soy and truffle blend was presented with the ramen and when mixed in gives the broth a decadent, earthy truffle note. Toppings are standard and generous, everything cooked well and flavoursome. Matcha brings an interesting though subtle perspective to an IPA.
Staff were friendly, the dining area comfortable with a relaxing vibe. Overall excellent experience!
The gyoza vegimite special were awesome. Loved the beer range & my partner liked his soft shell crab fried rice, except he needed more flavour through it, like chilli oil/ sauce. He ended up asking for soy sauce (a bit random). The tonkatsu ramen broth was amazing!! Good amount of veggies etc in there too. Unfortunately the noodles were a cheap instant type. I will make sure I get flat rice noodles next time. Given the expensive cost, they should think about upgrading their noodles. Great atmosphere, will be back
Food is amazing
A slight muck up with online ordering
I received my food then noticed a full refund in my bank account
I spoke to restaurant and ended up paying manually
Order was missing an item but this was soon rectified
Absolutely delicious ramen in all forms! The Hiyashi Chuka and Hiyashi Goma are particularly enjoyable in the summer months, whilst the pork belly ramen and shio make for particularly great warm-me-up winter winners. The beer selection is absolutely outstanding, though occasionally some are not available. All in all, terrific quality food that is authentic. I hear the owners even visit Japan at least once yearly to pick up recipes and ideas.
After passing this place a million times I finally decided to give it a shot. Never have I had so many ramen to choose from but I settled with Shoyu Ramen and I did not regret it. Definitely will be back to try the rest, also the chicken popcorn was crazy good.
Great local ramen! A little pricey when trying to order additions but very happy with my usual ramen order.
Consistently tasty and look forward to my fortnightly hit!
I’m so happy with my uber eats selection! The food here is so delicious!!! The chicken popcorn and the chicken bao were to die for even when they were delivered from the restaurant! Yum!!!!
The interior is lovely and cozy which is different for a ramen place.
Staff were friendly and the service was good.
I was somewhat overwhelmed by the selections available and did not expect it.
We had the karaage chicken to share. Pricey at 17 dollars a pop but pretty good.
I had the tonkotsu shio ramen. Not too oily which was what I enjoyed about it. The broth was not too porky. I thought that it was average.
I tried the nakano yuzu umeshu to drink was a lovely drink for a summer night.

I've eaten here twice now, and both experiences were great. I've had the pork tan tan, which was creamy and delicious. It's so nice to see restaurants with a conscience and providing free range pork, which I guess is why they're a little on the pricey side. I had the vegetarian tan tan as well, which is really nice but I got it to takeaway and I noticed how much oil there was in it. It tasted divine, but I felt pretty unhealthy by the time I got to the end and started marinating in my own corpulence. They unfortunately have a $20 minimum on EFTPOS, meaning I had to purchase a drink to take me over the threshold. The lychee tea was great (and made me forget my mild irritation) and recommended for a sweet treat. The service is lovely and really efficient. Recommended.
This place is pretty awesome. I’m really glad they do vegetarian ramen.
We had the cold sesame Summer ramen and the regular vegetarian ramen with soy base, with added egg and bamboo. I don’t like bok choy and carrot in ramen. It feels unauthentic... I wish the bamboo came with it instead of those so I didn’t have to pay $2 for it plus $2 for the egg. Ends up being $22 :/
The vegetarian summer ramen was delicious. Awesome that they’re open late and that their beer range is so extensive. We’ll be back. Thank you :)
This is seriously the best Japanese ramen restaurants I have ever been to. Recently I went to Japan and went searching for better ramen and couldn’t find it.
Their tan tan men is just amazing. The flavours in all their ramen are so rich and deep.
Also amazing are the gyoza and popcorn chicken.
An unassuming place with a simple sign that says Ramen and Craft Beer. The most extensive list of ramen ive seem and one of the best. Soft shell crab bao was excellent. Great little dive
We came by late and were pleasantly surprised by the huge menu. The ramen was excellent, especially the tonkatsu broth. The pricing gets a bit steep once you add a couple of "extras" to the ramen but overall still very good.
Huge menu with a great range - the one problem with Ramen restaurants is there's usually not much else on the menu. We ordered the singapore chilli crab special, shoryu Ramen, negi miso Ramen and soft shell crab chahan. All were excellent. the Ramen was al dente, soup was tasty and clear, and the rice was not sticky but still moist.
Chicken karaage is to die for! The $17 price tag is a bit scary but it's delicious and melt in your mouth moist. Wish they did this in a chahan!
Service was quick and friendly. We go early around 5pm which usually coincides with a 30% off EatClub promo.
This place has the biggest ramen menu I have ever seen, such a huge range of variety. I had a traditional Tonkotsu Ramen and it measured up - rich, flavourful broth with tender pork slices and nicely textured noodles. Can’t wait to come back to try lots more. Atmosphere is spacious and open with a pub/bar feel to it.
I think this place is also called Uribo Laksa? Anyway, we got some baos to share. A little pricey at $8 a pop but the saboro bao and the cali bao were really good. All of the baos had Arabiki sausage. We also had the very very interesting ramen-style risotto which was essentially rice served with a large bowl of miso-based ramen broth. It really does taste like rice with soup (sorry, haha, an obvs description) but the soup is alright. The flavours and textures sort of grow on you! Would probably opt for this if I'm bored of ramen. The soft shell crab fried rice is again, pretty pricey at $20. But the flavours were really good - with that charry wok feel to it. The portions are pretty big too so the price is justifiable.
I've heard many compliments about this ramen place so I had to try it! The broth was super clear and the flavours were great. The dish felt light because of the clear broth. Will be back for that ramen fix!
Looks and taste delicious. Everything from the ramen to the rice dishes and especially their array of gyoza. Staff could be a little more attentive but that never made the food taste any less great
I straight up avoided this place for ages because I didn't like the way it looks from the street and to be honest the internal fitout is pretty uninspired too BUT the ramen is really good . I will go again because there are a load of ramen options that I want to try.
This place was so good! Highly recommend the Gyoza mixed plate. You get 16 for $25 with some really good & interesting flavours. Also I had a few different bao's which were really tasty & my fiancé had the crab ramen which he said was really good 👍🏻
Had dinner here tonight with a friend and we ordered the classic gyoza (not pictured), tonkotsu shio ramen, chargrilled pork belly don and the karaage popcorn chicken. It was the first time I had tried ramen so I can't compare it to other places but I feel like I have been missing out my whole life till now! The tonkotsu shio ramen soup was rich, creamy with a touch sea salt and the noodles & pork pieces delicious. The gyoza was the best we had ever tried was so juicy and fresh. We were tempted to order another plate but decided to wait for the rest of our order. The pork belly don was nice- the fat in the pork was a little chewy but was still very enjoyable. The karaage popcorn chicken was addictive! Loved the creamy mayo sauce it came with. Overall we were extremely happy with the food and the service. The ambience is great also, with a modern interior, dimmed lighting and chill hip hop tunes in the background. I've made a mental note to return ASAP.
"Ramen & Beer" is the only sign on the street, leading to this unassuming ramen-ya. I've always passed by thinking it was dark and pub-like. However when you walk in, it's quite open, contemporary, not too loud, and doesn't have any overpowering smells.
The menu is surprisingly large and features a lot of innovative dishes.
I feel like there is an obvious influence from SE Asia, as a lot of the dishes borrows ingredients from the area, for example, chilli sambal in their spicy miso tonkotsu, crispy pork fat in the black truffle ramen, and obviously there is the special laksa ramen - I'm not sure what makes it a ramen.
They have a lot of folded gua baos which all sound amazing, but at $8 for one, it's a bit much.
The squid ink gyoza was tasty and juicy, but skin could've been crispier and actually had no taste of squid ink, just used for the colour.
I had to try the black truffle ramen. The broth was shoyu based, which probably works better because if it was tonkotsu, it would be too rich. There truffle flavour comes from the truffle and porcini soffrito which you mix in - I feel like it could have a stronger truffle punch. The noodles have a slight wave and good bite. They take extra work in their pork belly by rolling it up during the braise, freezing it then slicing thinly, instead of just braising a chunk of pork belly.
The spicy miso also has good depth and probably uses red miso for this. Be careful with the spoonful of chili sambal cos it can be spicy, so mix in a bit at a time.
Ivan Orkin once said ramen is a maverick food - you do what you want and create what you want, and Shizuku have certainly embraced this with their creative menu. The only downside is that it's a bit on the expensive side, but I'll be back to try some of their other menu items!
Oh and for a place featuring craft beer, you'd think they have beer on tap (at least Asahi), but it's all bottled.
Our first experience with this restaurant was Menulog takeaway last weekend the food was incredible. The gyozas were full of flavour, bao simply incredible, the signature ramen was amazing, and there are no words to describe the beer battered oysters. 1/2 a point lost for the temperate of the food however we are 11kms away and it could have been due to the menulog service. We absolutely loved this food and have booked to visit within the week
The food was Great and the service was excellent. Prices were very well priced and the menu had a lot to choose from. We sat near the door and it got a bit chilly every time the door opened, so ask to sit away from it.
I was astoundingly thrilled with my spicy vegetarian miso ramen, but I was also several drinks in when it ubereat-ed it's way right to my door. Tip: it's open until 2am on a Friday night for it to fulfill precisely this purpose.
Edit 21/11/17: have I eaten vegemite gyoza from here? If so: No, No, No. But exactly as advertised- overpowering vegemite.

First impression: nice ambience, warm & welcoming staff. Bit uncomfortable sitting arrangement. Fast service.
Menu: wide variety on the menu. Too many pork options. Not many vegetarian or chicken items.
We ordered: Hanian chicken & Garlic fried rice (pork). The food was good & got what was expected. However no pork pieces in garlic fried rice. I was hoping for some pork belly with cracklings. Right seasoning for hainan chicken. It comes with 3 sauces & we asked for seconds. Very fragrant rice.
Will surely go again to try different items on the menu & what it is known for 'Ramen'
What: Exactly what you’d expect to happen to an everything-intolerant person after ingesting ramen. Where: 5 – So full of gas I floated home like a hot air balloon. I love being part of clubs (unless it involves any participation in sporting activities), and what better club is there to be a member of than Ramen Club? After our inaugural and highly successful outing to Hakata Gensuke, where I had one of the best and most bloat-friendly ramens in Melbourne, we decided to head south to the much talked about Shizuku Ramen.
My favourite place in melbourne, perfect, keep doing what you are doing! Love the beer, love the broth, love the GYOZA!!!! A couple extra beers on the menu would never hurt
Awesome beer and ramen selection, so make sure you do done brain exercises, you'll need the noggin for selection. They have a good Japanese beer list, although they were low on stock. The ramen is good, full of flavour. Great spot.
Overheard someone saying that this place serves really good food, so my friends and I decided to try it. The restaurant has a very extensive menu which made it really difficult to decide what to order if it's your first time there. We ordered the lobster slider, tako karaage, crispy fried chicken and the tonkotsu shoyu ramen.
The lobster slider taste good however I couldn't really taste the lobster in it. The brioche bun was soft and the pickled carrot and raddish has a slight sweetness to it which I like. The tako karaage was freshly cooked and it was hot and crispy. It has a zing to it. Comes with a sauce that is a little spicy. The broth of the ramen was flavoursome. It came with a few pieces of pork, half an egg and bamboo shoots. The serving size is ok as the 3 of us shared the food we ordered. However if the ramen is just for one person, the serving size would seem a bit small for its price of $18. Service was average. The staff kept wanting to clear the plates even though we still have some food on the plate. It made me feel I'm being rushed despite the restaurant was very empty.
As we, a party of 3, sat down, we were a little overwhelmed by the extensiveness of the menu. Decided to get a couple of items to share instead for some variety. The lobster slider was pretty nice. It's more of a brioche roll really. Couldn't really taste the lobster but the combination was good. The tako karaage was a tad spicy, tasty though. Deep fried chicken wings came out piping hot. Loved the flavor but not too keen on the szechuan peppercorn scattered around. The tonkotsu shoyu ramen was pretty ordinary, similar to those from elsewhere. Service was efficient and nice ambience. Price on the higher end.
Mmm... black truffle shoyu ramen! This gives the more traditional recipes a different spin and I liked the resulting flavours. A lot of bamboo shoots, half an egg, thin slices of lean pork and noodles bathed in a thin, black truffle porcini broth. This place is pricier than the CBD joints and the seats are really uncomfortable but service was fast and the setting was funky. The large selection of sharing plates and craft beers might be worth experiencing too.
Magnum doesn't fully understand the whole craft beer scene. Magnum also likes a good night in and ordered some home delivery. Seven dollar delivery fee is a bit steep. Bit expensive but the Ramen had a bit of zing which Magnum likes.
I had an enjoyable night at Shizuku Ramen. Totally wished I could have tried their pudding desserts. In terms of service, there were a few small order mix-ups due to there being so many tables of twos, perhaps a little too close together. But the waiter was really friendly. However, for ramen broth, I didn't really like it from a subjective point of view, because I would have preferred a stronger taste, but overall they do their ramen with a modern spin nicely.

Wow, I'm surprised this place doesn't have a higher rating!! I've had the tan tan men and the vegetarian ramen here and they're both off the heezy!! Keep up the good work
A pleasant surprise via uber eats! Lovely flavours, plenty of spice and well balanced. Spicy fried rice was the best! Definitely going back!
Tonkotsu shio ramen is so deliciousss! If you want to indulge get extra pork slices. Karage popcorn chicken, gyoza and lobster roll are worth a try too. I could eat ten lobster rolls if only they weren't $7 each. Delivery had always been on time and packaged nicely.
How exciting - I finally got the chance to try the food at Shizuku Ramen!
I ordered the Tan Tan Men Ramen. It was delicious! It's very authentic - I mean, I haven't been to Japan yet but it's definitely got the taste of ramen that I have learned to love. The broth is spicy but not too spicy, the meat was lovely and the egg was perfect! A lot of places don't get that egg right but when it's done right it's perfection! The noodles were also the right texture as well. The servings are huge - you could even share it with someone else I didn't even get to eat it all.
My boyfriend took a brave move .... Normally he is very predictable with his food choices but this time around he shocked me and ordered a risotto soup! He hates soup!! I asked, "Why would you order soup??" He reckoned that all the menu items were mainly soup dishes - I guess he kinda had a point since there were only two rice dons and neither were to his tastes (he is very fussy!) so he ordered the risotto... Unfortunately there was chilli oil in it (he knew this) and it was way too hot. I would suggest that the restaurant's menu should state if a dish might be more than mild.
He really enjoyed the gyoza we ordered though - they have some different ones - the one we ordered had pork belly inside! It was very nice. I think next time when I feel like ramen my boyfriend will be ordering lots of gyoza 😆 no more hot food for him, that's for sure!
Ordered delivery and was impressed by the quality of food! Delicious tantan men and fried rice, perfectly cooked dumplings and crab croquettes too . Will definitely try their other dishes next time!
Pretty good ramen. I know most will say is not traditional yada yada.. but who cares? Melbourne is far from traditional anymore and this place has some good ramen and some good japanese tapas style dishes with a craft beer range to rival most.
Celebrated my partner's birthday here last night with a group of 10. The food was incredible, every dish served was fresh, hot and delicious. We had the slider sampler to start (a must have, I could eat them all day everyday!) Followed with Ken's fried chicken (perfectly crispy chicken) Char grilled rolled pork belly & the spicy fried rice (seriously spicy!)
Excellent assortment of craft beers and other drinks. We will definitely be coming back!
Love it everytime we've been here. We order one ramen bowl off menu and another from the lunch menu special at such a great deal including ramen, fried rice bowl and gyoza side dish! They have a great variety of broths to select from and you'll definitely leave satisfied
Their signature ramen is a winner but the choices of both ramen and entrees are many..... I'll be back soon and probably many times after that.
Just had lunch there with 2 friends. Great lunch special consisting of Ramen, 3 gyoza and pickles for $10. It was sooo good that I could eat here everyday lol
My friends were equally impressed, polishing off everything. Worth a look for sure 😄
Tan tan men is to die for. Also had gyoza kenji and karrage chicken. Was given a large list of craft beers and the restaurant appeared to not have 80% of what was listed. Otherwise perfect meal. And reasonably priced. For a couple - a beer each, two shared entrees and a ramen each around $80 total.
Oh my gosh fantastic share for this little restaurant.
You must order from them coz they can do a very quick delivery.
Sometimes you don't have enough time to wait. But they do a very well time management.
Shizuku – Ramen and Craft Beer, the boys were pretty quick to get on board that one! Wonder why!! I can guarantee it wasn’t for the ramen! Infact we didn’t actually have ramen but what we did have the huge menu was fantastic!. Beers are serious business here with over 40 beers and ciders to choose from (call it nearly a full A4 page!) there is some intrepid adventure starting as you look through and see the old familiar names with Rogue crazy flavours meets Asahi meets Brooklyn meets many uncharted territories with Echigo, Ginga, Yebishu, Kizakura and many many more!
Amazing entree - highlights were salmon with citrus juice & wagyu with mushroom. The wagyu was so tender and the extraordinary black pepper sauce complimented it so well. We also had oyster croquettes & scallop which were not bad too. When it comes to main, uhhh, the noodle was good but we were a bit disappointed with the soup. We had the hokkaido ramen, special tonkotsu and another one with alcohol&red dates in it. Suggest order more entree and you can share the ramen.
Their tonkotsu is superb. What I love about this place is that aside from ramen it had such great little side dishes and appetizers. While on the more pricey end, the food is very much worth it.
My boyfriend and i shared some gyoza and the fried chicken here, and each had a ramen dish.. The shoyu is a bit spicy when you're having a whole dish but overall both meals were great. the eggs are cooked perfectly and the presentation is great. They have an extensive list of beers that were great to try, and makes the experience fun.
The only issue is with the squishy seating being a bit too personal. I've since ordered off menulog without an issue. ready in 15 minutes and steaming hot, just as good as dining in store!
Had a lunch special they offer, miso ramen with gyoza. The gyoza is normal, but the texture of the ramen is one of the best that I have try in Melbourne. Good selection of beer as well,
I ordered lunch time delivery. They were very quick and the food was still hot when it arrived. The gyoza were soft and AMAZING! The popcorn karagee chicken was delicious and crunchy. The pork rice was pretty good but I didn't enjoy the seaweed on top. I will definitely order from here again.
Funky fit out and funky Japanese-style food.
While not the greatest ramen in Melbourne, it is more than passable. There are also a number of interesting side dishes - maybe try the grilled pork belly "souvlaki" or the karaage Peking chicken. Standard pork gyoza come with anything but a standard choice of sauces. The Tan Tan Men is by far my favourite ramen here, but the others are also good.
There is an extensive range of beers and other drinks, with a notable Japanese selection of beers, whiskeys and sake.
Fit out is worth a look in - if a Japanese hipster was a restaurant I imagine she would look much like this.
Great takeaway option, either from this venue or the new one on Smith Street, Collingwood in the old Bar Called Barry, now Forester's Hall (which I haven't tried yet mind you). I also suspect they own Uzu Ramen as well, although this doesn't seem to have the same constency in quality.
I found this ramen resto randomly from trip advisor while looking for a place for lunch in Melbourne. This city has a lot of restaurants to explore. We literally walk from Melbourne Central to this resto, when we arrived my first impression of this place is vibrant, unique and creative. Has a wide range of craft beers! Some imported from Japan. Must visit place if you are beer lovers. The ramen also tastyyy and rich of flavor. Beer and ramen, Good mix!
The decor here is so cute! I came here with my partner to try the ramen burger specifically and it was an interesting experience to say the least. However, I'm not sure if it would be something that I would come back for in particular. But seeing the yummy bowls of ramen from the table beside us, we might need to give this place another go next time!
So based on my experience with the Japanese interpretation of a Chinese spicy minced pork noodles, Shizuku Ramen takes the belt in Melbourne. The only improvement I can suggest, is to add bean sprouts to the dish.
But you know, that’s just being really picky.
Shizuku on Victoria St, is another Ramen place making its mark in Melbourne and spreading out from the CBD. While ramen is their specialty, it also prides itself on the craft beer offerings, with of course, a large range of Japanese beers, local and worldwide varieties. Ramen doesn't come cheap though, with an average ramen costing $15 plus, however if you are able to dine there during lunch you are able to select one of their lunch specials.
Delivered 10 minutes late and tan ramen was so spicy it was almost inedible (although delicious flavour). Note I'm sensitive to spicy. Seaweed salad very good.
Had a great dinner here. The lobster slider was made with a soft buttery bun from one of those Taiwanese bakeries and the filling was well seasoned. The scallop sashimi maybe had a bit too much kewpie Mayo but it was still tasty and had a hint of wasabi flavour. We had one of the whiskey infused ramen tonkotsu bowls and it was delicious. Had great flavour with a hint of whiskey and complex flavours with some goji.
Dined here Tuesday evening. Staff were most attentive. I started with Gyoza Spicy followed up with Spicy Tonkotsu Miso Ramen. Both dishes were excellent and when washed down with a Founders Porter from the vast drinks offering I left a very satisfied customer.
Tried Chef's speciality Tan Tan Men and was not disappointed. Perfect for tonight's chilly evening. Quick service and friendly staff. Nice atmosphere and decor too. Look forward to returning and trying more!
I would travel far and wide for this ramen, luckily it's just down the road!! The Tan Tan Men is beyond words delicious - pork ramen with a sesame, peanut and chili broth, YUM! Recommended for casual dining.
Small, cosy place which gets packed pretty fast at dinner time but luckily they take table bookings. The menu was very extensive! It was such a long read and there were so many kinds of ramen to choose from. We got the Karaage Popcorn Chicken and Ken's Fried Chicken to start with and both were absolutely delicious! The Tonkotsu Shio Ramen had a milky soup base but I thought it tasted a bit bland compared to the other flavours. The Tan Tan Men which is their best selling ramen was my favourite. The Angel's Share Ren was interesting - I don't normally like the taste of whisky but I thought it blended well with the meat broth. I'd recommend trying this one if you are feeling adventurous but you won't be satisfied if you are craving for the classic, traditional ramen taste.
First time eating Ramen and I absolutely loved it at this funky little joint on Victoria street. So many variations to choose from. I ordered the no.1 best selling TAN TAN MEN with free range pork mince, chilli oil aaaaand a creamy sesame flavoured broth, I can see why its the most popular. The set up is really cute and it was a bonus that we could book ahead for a group of 6. A combination of VERY reasonably priced dishes $$ and more expensive ones. And for those who don't like Ramen there were other options. LICENSED as well!
Great place with beautiful, fun decor. This was my first try of Ramen and I loved it. I have an allergy to peanuts so I was limited to only a few choices however the options I had were fine and I was able to find something that suited me. I had the Negi Cha Shu which was really nice and had a good amount of heat. Next time I will be sure to try some of the sharing dishes as the sliders looked amazing and I had food envy of the table near by to us! Definitely worth a try for a fun night out with friends
Amazing menu - many varieties of ramen which I have never come across before. I recommend coming with a little bit of money to spend so that you are able to try the pricier options that may not be offered at other common ramen places.
I had the hokkaido ramen - really delicious, melt in your mouth meat, everything was right. But for $25 i would rather try other dishes next time to find my favourite. Also, I'm a wine drinker and the options were pretty slim. We got a bottle for $35 which is higher than I would like. Many sake options but sadly there was no plum wine on the menu.
This was my first time at this place and I'd definitely come back to maybe indulge in a ramen with red vinegar, home made chilli oil, or with scallops or prawns. I highly recommend this place, and I think it's worth a shot if you're money conscious. My table of 6 were all that way inclined but we're thrilled with the food.
Couldn't ask for more from a home delivery. Was quoted an hour wait which was fine when ordering at 6:30 on a Friday, arrived within 45mins which was great! Ordered crab meat croquettes, tuna negi toro (sashimi salad on rice), lotus salad, gyoza classic, pork sliders and edamame. It was all fantastic and had travelled exceptionally well! Will definitely be ordering again, or heading over to eat in.
I love this small but excellent ramen place. Best ramen in Melbourne for sure. Perfect broth and the pork is the best I've tasted in a ramen dish. Generous servings. Immensely satisfying.
Small place, really courteous staff, good ramen and one amazing cocktail.
We didn't try any, but they also had an extensive beer menu.
Will be returning.
Loved this place. Note, rating is based soley on the Tan Tan Men ramen - chef's signature dish. Having returned from Japan, I've been on the search for ramen that closely resembles what I had experienced there - and this takes the cake... for now. 0.5 points off due to price. That said, I will be coming back to try out other dishes on their menu.
If you plan on dining here i suggest you book. Their ramens are very tasty and the have an extensive beer and sake menu. Gyozas also nice but ramen takes the cake.
monday night 11pm & dying for dinner. (hospitality worker) shizuku comes to the rescue! we ordered the lettuce cups, cheesy spring rolls (a must have for anytime you dine at shizuku) & kimchi ramen. all was amazing & was ready in just over 10 mins. we will be back for late night take away more often
With a sign that reads ‘RAMEN & CRAFT BEER’, this looked like my kind of place. Inside it’s a space that you just want to hang out with a couple mates over a bowl of piping hot ramen & frosty beer. Broth was nice but not as flavourful as I would have liked. On the negative, I asked for a side of chilli oil to give my broth a bit of a kick & they said it would be an additional charge. This should be a standard table accompaniment in my eyes.
Decent ramen, portions were a bit small, and the price is a tad expensive.
Good selection of craft beer.
Decor is simple and ambience is average.
Service is good.
Hardly the best ramen in Melbourne but still quite good.
Living in Abbotsford and still searching for a tonkotsu to match Bone Daddies means I eventually had to try this one. For years I had walked past the bright white sign "Ramen & Craft Beer" and assumed the people sitting inside drinking beers to all hours of night weren't there for the ramen. One late lunch seemed the time to visit. First impressions from the menu - it is expensive. Really quite expensive. I wasn't interested in the shio (salt) as I've never liked the sound of it. I don't tend to like miso either as I feel it masks the tonkotsu. That left the shoyu (soy) which also had the added bonus of added pork fat from Japan. This was the recommended from the staff so it seemed a good choice, albeit for $22!! The soup tastes quite good. Nice and reasonable flavour, however much thinner than I like, especially with the added pork fat. The noodles themselves are excellent, thick with some chew and adequately being coated by the broth. The cha siu was sliced thinly with quite a bit of fat to remove. Overall the dish was satisfying, however it's difficult to call it value for money. I'd go back with other people for socialising, some drinks and perhaps to try a different and cheaper ramen.
Shizuku is one sophisticated Japanese restaurant that boasts an extensive food and drinks menu.
This joint offers some superb ramen dishes and some excellently prepared starters to share.
They also offer a super selection of craft beers.
While they offer a lunch menu for those on the go if you have time I would recommend selecting from their menu as they offer several uniquely prepared dishes.
I'd recommend the Tan Tan Men this first option on the menu for those who like their ramen with a bit of a spice kick.
Pricey but well worth it.

Shizuku probably isn't really "just a little ramen bar". It's a little bit more fancy (and expensive) than that. Their "tapas" page is very extensive, and I would recommend coming here to try out food from that menu and not be limited to the ramen. We LOVED the little share dishes we ordered. The ramen is nice, which is fast becoming average for Melbourne's ramen standards these days. This is kind of like a mid-range Japanese restaurant, a fusion between ramen bar and izakaya.
EDIT 01/09/2017: Have revisited multiple times when we don't quite know what to eat and because we know we won't struggle to get a table on Saturday nights. The tapas menu seems to continue evolving and growing and we still enjoy picking something from it every time. The ramen menu is pretty extensive too, meaning we can always pick something atypical should we feel in the mood. The ramen has always been really consistent, and it's always good (not great, but very decent and above average).
Lunch time delight. Had the lunch time special - kimchi ramen with gyoza. Lovely decor, good food, as well as being reasonably priced. Made the trip down to Melbourne memorable.
Winner!. Tasty ramen! Interesting menu with share plates and fusion options. Not the cheapest ramen with bowls $15-19. Good selection of beers and ciders. Great place!
Shizuku Ramen Abbotsford is one of the many ramen joints that opened in Melbourne during 2014, where not a week passed where one didn’t hear of a ramen spot opening somewhere in Melbourne. We’ve had this one on our hitlist for a while, especially intrigued by the promise of not just authentic ramen, but also a very impressive craft beer list.
Shizuku may be the hippest ramen joint in Melbourne. Containing only 10 tables and boasting a large selection of craft beers , Shizuku’s menu contains tasty nibbles to order alongside drinks and a pretty impressive ramen selection. We arrived at lunchtime on a weekday and managed to instantly find a seat by the window and the out-of-commission pachinko machine. During lunchtime, Shizuku offers a rotational lunchtime special from $10. Komatsuna Shio Ramen, Gyoza and pickles for a tenner seemed like too good of a deal so I ordered one. J opted for the thicker Spicy Tonkotsu Miso Ramen. The gyoza were perfectly fried, concealing a juicy, meaty pocket of flavour. Dipped in the soy and sesame sauce provided, these juicy little morsels did not last long. The Komatsuna Shio Ramen arrived steaming hot with a large slice of marinated pork belly, choy sum, bamboo, nori and spring onions. The egg was perfectly goopy – just have a look at that shiny yolk! The broth was a hakata sea salt based soup which was delightfully light for a lunchtime ramen. Overall, this was a very good bowl of ramen and the noodles offered a perfect amount of gnaw to get my teeth through Shinzuku’s fresh, springy noodles. The spicy miso tonkotsu offers a warming, opaque broth with all the expected trimmings. In the corner, an elegant spoonful of the hot stuff is provided to mix in at your leisure. You get an extra couple of slices of charshu which is great if you, like me, are the kind of person who tries to get the widest variety of different foods in your mouth at the same time. The perfectly-chewy noodles and a delightfully gooey egg were consistent across both bowls, but the miso hit was pretty strong with this one so opt for the regular tonkotsu if you’re not a big fan. Located in Victoria st, Richmond, Shizuku, hidden among the 100′s of pho watering holes stands out as one of the only ramen places in the area. I liked Shizuku a lot, the menu was one of the more innovative ones I ha
It was last year when I last eaten at Shizuku on Abbotsford St in Richmond. Hence, I decided to drop by the place again when I was on my way to IKEA. While driving past the restaurant, I noticed that the restaurant signage has changed to 'Ramen & Craft Beer'!? It used to be Shizuku! My first thought was that the business has changed ownership. After seeing that they are still serving ramen, I stayed on my original plan to have my lunch there. Luckily, it was just a rebranding of the restaurant. Okay, a number of changes I observed when I stepped into the restaurant after so long. First the signage. Later I found that there are a lot of wine/alcohol bottles around the register counter as well as at a corner of the restaurant. There's also a beautiful used alcohol bottle on each tables which is used to store plain water for the customers. Looks like they are serving various alcohol drinks nowadays. Besides that, they also have new menu which has a lot more choices than before. Well, I'm
On our way to Ikea for some random shopping, the husband saw a new modern looking Ramen and Craft Beer sign and couldn’t help ourselves but to stop for some lunch. Shizuku was clean, cosy and simple on the inside with a few Japanese decorations here and there. The food was delicious with a thick Tonkatsu broth and tasty sliders...
...got the Chef’s Signature and one taste of this you could see why. This was the stand out of the ramens we had tonight. It was rich, belly warming soup, with perfectly chewy noodles and a bit of a spicy kick, and was seriously delicious.
I ordered the candied pork belly with plum and prune sauce and kewpie mayo which was amazing.

Last week I was kindly invited by the staff at Shizuku Ramen to come try out their new menu which included...the ramen burger! I was super excited,of course! As was my sister, a lover of all things Japanese, who I brought along with me for this food adventure. We got to Shizuku at 5:30pm - the openning time for their dinner session - and found a cute little restaurant with a lovely display of Japanese drinks and ambient lighting all around.

Still only a year old, Shizuku recently revamped its menu and has been rebranded by BTP Design to highlight its focus on ramen and craft beer. Shizuku is probably best known for being the first in Melbourne to offer ramen burgers. One of the first things I noticed when I walked in were its rather funky set-up and its intriguing light fixtures, which were designed and created by Earl Pinto in Collingwood. The menu has an extensive selection of dishes to share (zensai), which go well with their wide range of alcoholic beverages, including beer, cider, wine, sake, umeshu and shochu. Although Shizuku is known for its ramen (and of course its famous ramen burger), there are also rice dishes available. We started with a lobster slider (kewpie salad, pickled carrot & daikon) and tuna tartare (ground tuna in Shizuku dressing with deep fried gyoza skin). I wasn’t expecting the lobster to be in more of a paste form after being mixed with the kewpie mayo, but it was still delicious and the amount
By modern take I mean, they had many creative spins on typical noodle house fare. For instance, we ordered a cha su souvlaki which was all that you would expect of a Greek souvlaki (wrap, lettuce, salad elements like leek and cucumber) but with the Japanese roast pork interior and with an Asiatic bent of chilli mayo and sichimi sauce. It was absolutely delicious and as an entree, a great starter to share. It tasted very similar to a Peking duck pancake eg roasted meat, slightly sweet sauce, egg pancake....mmm....
I'm finally back in Melbourne and I have tons of restaurant lists waiting up to be posted to share with you guys. Today I am gonna share my experience with you at Shizuku Ramen . If you have paid attention to other Melbourne Japanese ramen specialty stores that I have blogged about so far, you guys should know that I have not found any legit ramen places around. I did not expect much at all when I agreed to attend Shizuku Ramen 's invitation to dine with them, but boy I was wrong. Its as though they listened to my previous rants on my previous posts for a good quality ramen, researched and brought authenticism to Melbourne. We came at six on the dot and there was no one around, except us. No crowd? Hmmm, we were still second guessing our reason to be here. Again, I was wrong. This place was almost full by the time it was seven at night. Yes, I just remembered that 6.30pm-7pm is when peak hour actually starts. Perks of being early? We got a good shot of the restaurant decor with no one
Almost a year later (ok not quite), I find myself back at Shizuku Ramen to try their new and revamped menu. I quite enjoyed it the first time, so was looking forward to giving it another go.
Poor. Supposedly they deliver until 3am every night now ? But they do not answer the phone
Delicious!. Tad expensive for Ramen, not the best I've had but pretty good nonetheless! Was not disappointed with my Tonkatsu Shio Ramen. Creamy broth and juicy slices of pork belly! The Tan Tan Men, which a friend had also tasted pretty good. Another friend had the Shoyu Ramen, while it was nice, it was also average and questionable for $15. We also had the Gyoza Cali which could have had more pork inside but the sriracha and kewpie mayo made up for it. Great selection of craft beers and cosy atmosphere.
Easily my favourite place. Their Tonkotsu Ramen reminded me of one that I had in Tokyo and far superior than other ramen places I've been to in Melbourne so far.
The service is fast on a Sunday morning and menu items decently priced. I can't complain; in fact I can only come back over and over again.
I am highly recommending this restaurant to friends and family.
Quite surprise to find ramen on Victoria at, and a good one, a damn good thick rich tan tan men broth. Definitely a gem and a pretty good discovery.
Happy. Lotus salad, crispy rice cake, cheese and edamame spring rolls, veggie ramen and burger. All ticked the right boxes. Glad and happy that i finally managed to try this place out.
Ordered the tonkotsu shio ramen and I absolutely loved the broth; rich, thick and full of flavour! Tad over priced and service was decent enough.
One of the best ramen bars in Melbourne, great selection and also has a good snack menu.
Awesome Ramen I've ever had in Melbourne. I ate Negi-Cha-shu Ramen and Tan Tan-Men. Both remind me Ramen at home, Tokyo!!!
The ramen taste were both so so familiar n the pickled radish are so addicted!!! You must need book the tables otherwise need to wait!!!
Great food, drinks and vibe, but that service.... My partner and I live near by and come here often. The food is amazing (highly recommend their fried chicken entree), the drink selection is great, the atmosphere is really great; just the right mix of low-key but energetic like you could go out and party afterwards.
But the staff always seem to be doing something other than taking your order. Food and drinks arrive very quickly afterwards, but getting your order can be quite a waiting game. I hope they improve it, because sometimes I find myself wishing I'd gone somewhere else.
Very nice. We didn't order ramen, but settled for several tapas dishes. The food was excellent. The service was a little slow but we weren't in a hurry & the waiter was very knowledgable about he craft beer. We will definitely be back to try other menu options.
Interesting fusion. Good as long as one is not expecting Japanese food. It's a fusion of Japanese and Taiwanese and not truly Taiwanese either ... It's blended well but as my friend and I are expecting Japanese ramen, we were slightly disappointed...
Yummy Ramen. I enjoyed the Tan Tan ramen. It was very tasty and perfect for a winters night. They have an interesting selection of beers too. The decor was good and i really like the little wooden lanterns. The downside to this place was the temperature inside the restaurant. It was too cold to take off your jacket so regrettably not a very cosy dining experience. I'll be back when the weather warms up.
Yummy!!. Went shizuku for lunch. we loved food here, the lobster slider, wasabi prawns, chicken dish were die for, so yum..
value for money. pretty big size and yum.
will come back to try others.
5/10 = Average. Food: I tried the sea urchin in sake shot glass and that was quite interesting. However, the shoyu ramen was not tasty at all - 3 thin slice of pork, a few pieces of pickled vegetable and half an egg with some thin noodle cost $15?
Environment: It was freezing cold in there! I was wearing my scarf and wool coat the whole time and everyone else was wearing what they had been wearing outside the restaurant too. Not comfortable to eat and let alone staying for longer!
Verdict: Will not come back!
Good Ramen. A friend and I went here on a Friday night straight after work. We were a little apprehensive when we walked into an empty restaurant at 6pm, but I guess that's too early for everyone as it quickly began to fill up after we were seated. We tried the pork slider, lobster slider, gyoza kenji and the shoyu ramen. The sliders were delicious (really, how can you go wrong with sticky sweet pork or lobster in a brioche roll?) as were the gyozas. The star of the show was definitely the ramen. The pork was tender and fell apart beautifully when I picked it up with my chopsticks. The bamboo shoots and spring onions balanced the dish and the egg was cooked perfectly. On a cold winter night, it was the perfect way to warm our bodies. There are plenty of other dishes on the menu that I'd like to try (karaage popcorn chicken, tuna tartare, crab meat croquettes and of course the ramen burger) so I will be going back soon!

Arigato Shizuku Ramen!. We had the pleasure to experience Shizuku Ramen for lunch.
Their shoyu pork has been lovingly prepared by rolling and steaming method - giving it the most tender, buttery, indulging taste; just pleasurable.
Tan Tan ramen is spicy, with tasty free range mince, with a delightful colour. The ramen soup may seem salty to some, but I found it sweet, aromatic, with the right amount of saltiness.
We finished with Almond Tofu, it's an honest dessert - combining sweet almond and smooth, creamy soy and the Espresso Pudding - which is not to be missed; deliciously smooth too, the cream giving it that indulging touch.
Noms!. A haiku to celebrate tonight's meal:
Was seated swiftly
Red Wine, pork belly, ramen
Happy warm tummy
Thanks :)
AMAZING, authentic Ramen and Gyoza. If you are after real, tasty and wholesome ramen, this is the place! The soup, the noodles, the ingredients, AMAZING. Gyoza is on another level, I recommend everyone to try this place.
Saw this on Liven app. Got $20 off. Very good food too.. Never been here before but found it through Liven app. says I could get 25% off. So I'd give it a go. A very nice guy David? (I think was the owner) recommended several dishes. Everything was nice. I was particularly impressed that their dishes were more than the stock standard sushi and sashimi. something new. Salmon carpaccio was yumm! Price was reasonable too but when he saw the Liven on my phone, he reduced the bill $20 straight away! Next time I'll try the infamous ramens.
My fav japanese restaurant. Reasonable prices and accommodating services... Cant wait for my 3rd go!
Good food!. Ramen up to par with Little Ramen Bar and Ajisen Ramen in the city, interesting menu and good deco! Highly recommended.
Shizuoka may lack the interior design and warmth of nearby maedaya, yet having eaten at both on many occasions, I much prefer the quality of food at Shizuku, it has never disappointed! Nom nom nom!
Zoe.c. As the first time I visited this place and I love it. All of us enjoy every single dish there, none of us were disappointed. They has been using a lot of imported ingredients and flavor are authentic, even my Japanese colleagues love this place.
For entrée I recommend the Green Mango salad, the ingredients they used are very fresh. This is definitely the pleasant appetizer that you need in the beginning. If you are the cheese lover, you must try Cheese spring rolls. And I strongly recommend Wasabi Mayo Prawns. The creamy texture together with the mild wasabi taste are totally bringing out the freshness of the well cooked prawns. This was the star-dish of the night and my FAVORITE of course!! For main, I ordered spicy miso ramen, if you don’t like spicy food you can go for the non-spicy miso ramen, they both are really good.
The foods are amazing and I am very happy to find such a great restaurant in Richmond with great atmosphere. And friendly staffs are definitely a plus to it. No doubt, it is now on my dinning list.
Groupon brought me here for a miso soup and Ramen burger with pork belly. It was as messy to eat as a souvlaki and delicious. The menu looks quite good too and I'd return.
Stylish, affordable and delicious. So happy to have Shizuku arrive in our neighbourhood - about time we got some Japanese food in Victoria Street! We've been twice (dinner & lunch) and both times the staff have been friendly, informative and efficicent (heads up, they have a high chair, but there's only one, so make a booking if you need it!). The decor is modern and interesting, and a big step up from any other restaurant in Victoria Street. Despite 'looking' more expensive, the food is very reasonably priced, especially the lunch specials, which are excellent value. There is a range of dishes to suit a variety of palettes, including more traditional ramen and soups, as well as more modern 'fusion' sliders and the like. We've enjoyed everything we've sampled so far and will be back.
I was seduced by the $10 lunch special so decides to order the Miso Ramen & gyoza lunch set. The gyoza was decent, the side of pickled veggies were good, however the miso ramen was too oily.
I've had miso ramen in Japan & know it's supposed to be rich... However this was way too oily & sickly. There was only one really thin piece of pork served in the soup (was more of a garnish than an ingredient). The service was quick, easy & cheerful. I may return, but won't be ordering the same dish again.
This place has got some awesome ramen and that true Japanese taste. Plus some really interesting tapas plates to support the ramen offerings. Very nice, pls keep this flavour going on
My husband and I went to this restaurant over the weekend and absolutely loved it! We used an 'all you can eat' voucher and had an abundance of food unlike some of the other diners who have posted reviews. The gyozas, popcorn chicken and lotus salad were fantastic. We left extremely satisfied and only ordered an extra gyoza and popcorn chicken on top of the initial 6 dishes. I would definitely recommend this place - the good was great and the tiny place had a great welcoming atmosphere.
Incredible. From the tuna tartare to the brilliant chicken with its secret recipe batter, to the uniqueness of the spring rolls with melted cheese and baby soya beans, this place has a fresh take on Melbourne's regular Japanese dining experience. Most amazing of all was the chef's signature ramen, best in town! Super friendly staff, quality recipes and great service. Can't wait to go again!
Good Sunday Lunch. My gf and I went here for Sunday lunch and really enjoyed it. I had the shoyu ramen, she the ramen burger (pork). both were very fresh and delicious. highly recommended AND we loved the japanese sodas to go with it- blueberry, melon and strawberry
Had pork belly ramen burger, quite liked it but would have enjoyed it more if the piece of pork belly I got wasn't way too fatty. Would be great if they have more choices than just pork belly or eggplant.
Definitely coming back again. I love the lotus salad and the pork belly ramen was was so tasty! We were so full from three sets of gyoza.
Voted a favourite on the first visit. I have no comment on the prices of this restaurant as I used an All-You-Can-Eat Groupon voucher. But I do have much to say on the quality of the food and the customer service. The voucher included: seaweed cheese crackers, popcorn chicken, lotus salad, three different types of gyoza and green tea for two; all of which you can re-order after finishing. Every one of these dishes were of very high quality. The lotus salad was moist and soft, unlike Asian salads I've had before where the leafy greens were dry, this salad was pleasant, had a good flavouring to it and easy to eat. The taste of the cheese in the seaweed crackers was evident and not overpowering, the only criticism I have is that the seaweed was dry, but maybe it's because it was deep-fried. The popcorn chicken was tasty and temperature hot. They rested on a thin sheet of paper to soak the oil, however I noticed the oil was minimal. Maybe they had already soaked it several times before and maybe they didn't, because there was no oil on the surface of the chicken. Compared to other Japanese deep-fried dishes I've had before, these popcorn chicken were cooked very well. I'm concious when it comes to consuming oily food, and sometimes I even soak the oil myself with a tissue. The gyoza were I think, the best I've had throughout my Japanese dining experience. The dumpling skin were soft, silky and delicate, accompanied by a crunchy base; and the filling contained a good amount of flavour without the need of dipping sauce. Lastly, the green tea; served very hot, even the re-fills. It had a green slightly powdery taste, the kind you'd expect from the Japanese standard. Customer service was very good and friendly, and re-fills of tea without having to ask, completed our dining experience and made it enjoyable and carefree.
Here's a quick message to a couple of other user reviewers.
The Brunch Kid: As you may find from the many Urbanspoon reviews that I've written, I don't often write positive reviews. But you inspired me to write one here, just so you know that your guess is wrong about the good reviews coming from friends of the shop or the owner; because this one here came from an unrelated user reviewer like you, who has nothing to do with Shizuku.
Kat: I've been to many Japanese restaurants around Melbourne where quality green tea; even just a regular teabag, costs. I normally find complimentary teas at Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants. So I'm actually interested to know where green tea is for free at Japanese restaurants in Melbourne!
Japanese food with a twist. This Japanese restaurant shows some characters among Vietnamese food and Chinese food in Victoria Street Richmond, . Entrees are very interesting, Edomame cheese spring roll is with a nice twist, tuna tar-tare is full of flavour, if the biscuit base made from a muffin mould with a shape, so the tuna pieces won't fall over everywhere when you bit. Crab cream croquette cannot taste crab at all.
Bentos are not in traditional boxes, they come with big modern white bowls, pork belly is very fatty, but the flavour is balanced, they melt in your mouth. Marmalade chicken is with a sweet citrus flavour, very appetizing. Miso eggplant is a bit plain without chicken mince as a vegetarian dish, it could be better if add some chopped mushroom mix into miso paste to put on top of eggplant.
Miso soup cannot see any soy beancurd pieces as per on manu.
All in all, the food is good, atmosphere is nice, but if you go there to order these food for 4 people without a voucher could add up quite expensive since serves are on the small side.
You won't be disappointed!. We ordered the eggplant ramen burger- oustanding, a really geneous size. Such punchy flavour, it was great to be shared between two. The fried noodle cake buns are genius. We also shared the crab croquettes- about as classic a croquette as you can get, real deep fried goodness, although light on the crab I suspect. We also ordered the tuna and tofu salad- yummy. It was canned tuna, but still really tasty, a generous size and fair value at $10. The staff and ambience were nice. Somewhat weak genmaicha tea generously poured, but a bit steep at $4.50 a person. Overall- great first impression- we will definitely return!
Excellent. Went there very recently, tried the popcorn chicken, Salad, 3 types of gyoza, Nori Cheese Entrees. Very much enjoyed it, if the main dishes were all $10-$12 id still say it was well justified, especially given the presentation and fitout of the premises. Im sure these exact same dishes would be $12-$14 in the city.
That being said, the popcorn chicken was good,
salads were huge and fantastic, nori cheese entrees, Ok for me, not spectacular, Gyozas were fantastic, a good change from the MSG ridden ones at their chinese counterpart dumpling houses
Service was excellent with a smile
Didnt get a chance to try the ramen burger which is the rage in the US and new york apparently because I was too full
and for those of you who are complaining about price and portion size? for $8 or $10 the portion sizes are quite big, no point in comparing to some low quality, MSG ridden, cheap ingredients Asian dish a few doors down that sell for $8.5 or $9.5
Will go back again when im in the area,
Thank you
Absolutely loved this new restaurant. Exceptional and friendly service and the food was deliciously spectacular. I would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone who's in the mood for something different. I go back regularly now
Lovely ambience great service! Good food portions and fresh ingredients! I had the marmalade chicken and it was simply delicious. The tuna tartare was refreshing and so fresh! Definitely serves great food with quality ingredients!! Can't wait to come back again when they've added more options to the menu!!
Super good! The food was very authentic and cocked to perfection. Will definitely come here again.
Went there tonight for the first time. was super impressed with the friendly service & the yummy things on the menu. we had the french beans with sesame seeds, beef curry, the pork belly & the highlight was the edename cheese sticks! SO AMAZING. we will definitely be back again soon
Bento Treat. An unexpected surprise when I visited this place yesterday for lunch. The recycled plates are super cute and had the most amazing cheese coated edamame beans and marmalade chicken bento box. Great value and really friendly service. Highly recommend!
Welcome to Victoria Street. Amazing fit out and great vibe inside. Its about time Victoria Street cleaned up and gave us some style with the food.
Awesome Bento - I had the Marmalade Chicken! The attention to detail is not to be missed. Delish potato salad and the seasoning for the rice is something else! Try the edamame cheese sticks... Never tasted anything like that before. If you're complaining about the value there are plenty of cheap and nasty places down the road. Shizuku stands out as quality over the plethora of choice on Victoria Street!
So Shizuku was pretty good from this experience. I’d stay away from the salad and my friend said the ramen wasn’t bad – it might be a little on the pricey side starting at $15 but if you’re on the adventurous side you can order their ramen burger! Noodle buns enclosing candied pork belly can’t go too badly.

Ramen Burgers. Yes, you heard me right, ramen burgers. Taken off to a humble start, SHIZUKU is nestled among the plethora of Vietnamese restaurants on Victoria Street. Serving up Izakaya-style plates, ramen and donburi bowls, you can see how SHIZUKU would stick out like a sore thumb - for all the right reasons though. Surrounded by dark charcoal walls, hanging terrariums and intricate light fittings, the space has a lovely contemporary feel that welcomes you in the moment you step through the door. The menu is developed by Head Chef Ken Yoshida, who has been said to have worked in some of Japan's most renowned ramen shops. Bringing his expertise to SHIZUKU, the menu offers dishes with a twist, with a heavy focus on texture, taste and innovation. I recently received an email from David Chen, the man who brought you Melbourne’s first ramen burgers to dine at Shizuku Ramen as a guest. The modern Japanese restaurant with is dark tinted windows and its sleek design is located in the heart of Richmond on Victoria, a very busy narrow street almost always lined up with cars, trams and people on the sidewalk deciding where they want to go to eat. Given all the options available for your average person, it is no wonder that restaurants like Shizuku Ramen need to work extra hard to set itself apart from its competitors. Some complimentary popcorn is given to you while waiting for the food to be served. Spicy miso ramen: miso ramen with homemade chilli paste, marinated cha shu pork belly The homemade chilli paste is served in the spoon, so you have to mix it in the broth before eating it. My mum loves her spices and found the paste not that spicy at all. The overall verdict from her end was that the ramen was tasty enough, but there was n
I decided to have the ‘Vegetarian Ramen ($15.00) with mixed vegetables’. I chose the miso option. A massive bowl of gorgeous ramen arrived that was packed full of vegetables and noodles. The heavenly broth was creamy and not too salty. I loved it so much I ate my way through most of the bowl until I could not physically eat any more!
We started off with some crab croquettes which were soft and warm fluffy clouds of goodness with crab meat, deep fried in panko. Seriously, I want the recipe to know how they made these ridiculously light!
Me over order? Never!! But Shizuku had so much good stuff on their menu, so lets give you a run through seven of their amazing dishes to get your mouth watering! Edamame with chilli flakes – usually prefer them hot but these were great, just add a good cold beer! Spicy Gyoza with miso peanut chilli oil and leek – Best ever gyoza! Big call but I will stand by it!! Wasabi Prawns – heaps of meaty, fresh prawns slathered in kewpie and wasabi and lots of lovely crunchy noodles. Takoyaki Senbei – octopus balls with ebi prawn cracker and ume sauce, kewpie and bonito flakes – Amazing dish, loved it!! The special sticky pork slider – perfect little shiny roll full of succulent pork and sticky sauce – Yes!! Crabmeat croquettes with fresh crab meat, corn and plum sauce – Loved it! Tuna tartare with shizuku dressing, wasabi and gyoza skin crackers. Not usually my thing but this was really wonderful, super fresh and those crackers were legendary! SO there you go, whistle stop tour of the wonderful
The soup was rich and spicy, and the curly noodles perfectly toothsome. The garnishes of vegetables and minced pork may have been sparing, but the soup was so flavour-packed that it wasn’t an issue. The only thing I wanted more of was the beautifully creamy soft-boiled egg.
one of several newer eateries bringing back some diversity to a once Vietnamese-dominated eat street... The shoyu ramen brings a clean depth of pork, without too much saltiness of soy; whilst the miso broth is rich and creamy.
They have a pretty good value lunch time deal, where you get a bowl of ramen, entree and appetizer for $15. The ramen is the simplest version that they have but that's not to say that it is anything less than tasty. The broth is deep and velvety. You can tell that it's been simmered for hours and you can just sense the nutritional properties of it (bone broth enthusiasts will be excited about this broth). The ramen is pleasantly chewy and it comes with a range of pickled veg, a few thinly sliced pork and a lovely creamy egg.
The best vegan ramen laksa that we’ve ever had. We order delivery from here all the time and have never been disappointed by the flavours. Great beer list too! 🍻
Amazing delivery experience!
First of all, they have a good selection of food and alcohol drinks.⭐ Got a nicely set up website too!⭐
Secondly, laksa ramen!! Laksa broth feat. Ramen contents.⭐ Say waaaaaat?!!! It was brilliant!!
Thirdly, the food arrived 18 minutes EARLY!!⭐
Finally, and this part annoyed me for about 30 seconds at first, but later proved to be one of the great things of the whole experience! The food came in like a food kit and I had fun assembling it!⭐
There you go, a hard earned 5 star restaurant!
