Review Vinh Vinh - Abbotsford

Ben Freeman
Definitely my favourite restaurant on Victoria Street. I love the pho, the black bean beef, the rice paper rolls and everything! My family all love eating at Vinh Vinh, we will keep coming back!
Josh H
Asked for "Hokkien Noodles with Chicken and Vegetables" And what they gave me was delicious. The egg and chicken tasted especially fresh.

I never review places but I have to make an exception for this place. My place for no frills, unapologetically authentic vietnamemese Pho. A place I go to multiple times a week. The broth is a genuine beef bone broth that is savoury and nutrient rich. It is very different from your average pho joint that heavily dilute the broth only to bring it up with copious amounts of salt and MSG. The beef balls are premium and appropriately cut. As a bonus the service is great being run by a mother-daughter resturant. I will happily come here multiple times a week for years to come.

The yummiest seafood soup and fried chicken was amazing. Very authentic and highly recommend!

Amazing food… have been here 3 time this week. The service is amazing as well 😊

Started with the spring rolls and then the combination birds nest. Pretty good. Despite being a busy night the staff were fast and efficient which usually happens as they are looking for a 2 or 3 seating in a night - which is fair enough. Food was tasty and certainly plenty on the menu that was appealing. The takeaway side was doing a roaring trade. Nice drinks menu too. Staff are lovely and very ‘efficient’. Parking isn’t too bad but remember it’s Smith Street so there at time limits and competing with other diners. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly.

This place is sooo good the lovely lady whom owns this place Is always ready to greet you and it's the only place that has ever said "you order too much" honestly fresh fantastic food .....

Amazing food! And the lady who runs it is so lovely and attentive. 5 ⭐️

Dropped in here for takeaway lunch today and was very satisfied. Only had the vegetarian rice paper rolls but they were freshly cooked to perfection and full of flavour. 4 rice paper rolls for $8 was great value and also included a generous serving of delicious sauce. Also had the Vietnamese iced coffee which is a must when visiting. Would love to come back here once they have re-opened for dine-in. 👌🏽

This is perhaps the best Vietnamese food along Victoria Street with an extensive menu that also offers Thai and Chinese style dishes as well as lots of specials in a relaxed environment.. Vegetable spring rolls I find are often uninspiring, but not at Vinh Vinh, here they are golden and crunchy. The Szechuan style eggplant, the crispy beef and the chilli fish were all deliciously perfect. Vinh Vinh’s decor looks like it hasn’t been changed in years but who cares when the food is of such a high standard and the bill came to $30 a head (and we had over ordered).

Placed $75 order online. Not delivered because driver ignored directions provided. Restaurant refuse to refund. Could not be more disgusted.

Our favourite place on Victoria Street. The huge menu has something for everyone, and we've never been disappointed with anything we've ordered here. Try the salt and pepper bean curd!

Love this place! It is my go to on Victoria street. Great food and service. Food comes out in perfect portion sizes and pretty cheap! Never been unhappy here.

Would have rated 4.5 Stars. Four of us went at lunchtime on a Friday, and was not busy, so service and speed was not an issue. The quality of the food was exceptional and as it turned out relatively cheap at $50 per head for food and we BYO wine. The menu with 180+ items was a little overwhelming, so we just ordered from the specials board. Started with the Hot & Sour Soup with Duck, followed by Peking Duck (quirky square pancakes and carrot), Steamed Scallops with XO Sauce and Ginger, Steamed Whole Barramundi with Ginger and Spring Onions, and Special Fried Rice
Ivan Edakkoth
The quality wasn't that great, the food was a little bland. I definitely had better Vietnamese food before. I am sorry but it doesn't come quite close to what I had before.
Robbyz
Only decent Vietnamese which delivers to Northcote, the others on the various delivery apps are inferior to here. Been ordering for years and being part Vietnamese im not going to say it's the best by any stretch but you can't get home delivery from Bankstown or Cabramatta in NSW to here lol.

Annoying they've taken waterspinach or indeed all vegetarian dishes off Menulog though :(
Elonie
Quiet place at lunch time. Service was good. The rice vermicelli was ok. I'm not sure why, but the spring rolls had a little bit of an after taste, like it had too much baking soda?
Lady In Bread
Today I did not anticipate a fluid desire for flavour and pure satisfaction, to be horrendously pombled by luke warm concepts rushed over a timid scallion breeze mixed with half an unsalted vegetable stock cube, every so briefly waved over and far beyond, pools of hot rippley H2O, and a pimmish of seasoning. Made fresh in a squimth of a minute, and straight to your table.

To put it simply, I know each ingredient is lonely.

Terrible pho. Like warm water walked past flavour that was too far too reach. Bland. City. Probably the most underwhelming experience on Victoria St.

Service was super slow, meals came out a different times so I had well and truly finished mine before the other came out. The chicken was also quite tough. I think they were understaffed so that may explain the delay in food and overcooked chicken. Won't be in a hurry to go back there.
Danny Nguyen
Pho here was okay, you'll fight better down the street. Also had the rice and salt and pepper pork which was good. Tbh not the best place to eat when there are more options around.
Jake Matthew
Came here tonight for take away order, took a seat and waited - when our lovely waitress brang us some ice cold water and prawn crackers while we waited. And as I type this she even seen I finished the glass, so she brings a whole jug of cold water. The food here is timeless and sensational! We❤️you Vinh Vinh! I forgot why we haven’t been around in so long, we’re sorry!

Long standing, simple, genuine and enjoyable ....

It has been there for ages .... I can't even recall how many times we've been there.

Food wise; simple and easy, "genuine" long-list Vietnamese with a bit of Chinese influence menu to enjoy.

Good and pleasant service too, hence the enjoyment of doing Vietnamese food at this place. JT-14/09/2017.

Recommended by a friend so we went for s quick meal. There is plenty of Vietnamese on Victoria St and it quite hard to find favourite one. We prefer grilled scallops and it was delicious. Crunchy tempura calamari and it wasn't oily at all. We had it with combination fried rice and 3 beers. For two people wasn't too expensive. We couldn't finish them all and asked for left over takeaway. The lady who served us not just friendly actually offering a great service. Simple truely authentic mixture of Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine. Yum....
Good Food Good Mood
Wow this place is bland central. Came here with a bodybuilding friend who can only eat chicken and rice and may need to defriend as I can't be coming back here again. I had the Mongolian beef which was completely devoid of any flavour. Meat also very stringy. You would pretty much be better off choosing any other Vietnamese restaurant on Victoria st given they are a dime a dozen in Richmond and all at a similar price point. Cheap but not so cheerful
Loren Mangione
Authentic vietnamese, byo, cheap prices, generous servings, very hospitable friendly staff. Will definitely be back as I couldn't find fault with this little gem.
Natasha Bird
The guy who served us was rude and clearly didn't care about his customers. I specifically asked if a special dish came with vegetables and if it is a stir fry. He said yes. It arrived and was a pile of warm meat sitting on limp spinach leaves. I pointed out that I asked him if it came with veggies and he said "it does... A few". Very poor customer service and bad food. The chicken coleslaw was also overdressed in a syrupy sweet dressing. Won't be going back. There's so many great places on vic street.
Yumyumyum
I've had the pleasure I've trying a few Vietnamese Restaurants on Victoria Street but Vinh Vinh is a real standout. The menu is HUGE and offers so much more than your standard chicken Pho (although Pho is great). Had a few things on the menu and the lamb hot pot was probably the best.
Sarah Oakley
This is my all time favourite place for honey chicken, the batter is the perfect density and so crispy. The chicken used is visibly white chicken breast - which isn't always common at that price!
Plenty of variety in the menu and the service is always pleasant an efficient (with free prawn crackers whilst you wait)
Nessa
Great for Lunch & Dinner! The wait staff are a bit dopey at times but the food is very good! The owner is adorable & super friendly. Their Lemongrass & chill beef with vermicelli is my favourite.
Cristy Phelan
This is my favourite place for Peeking Duck! The salt and pepper calamari is perfectly seasoned and beautifully crispy. This is a regular place for dinner- great to dine in or get take away. Prices are very reasonable and it's a perfect place to order lots of dishes to share with a group of friends.
Manindr87
This is a great place to go with friends and family. Atmosphere is fantastic on a Friday night dinner with delicious Vietnamese/ Chinese cuisine. Starting with the pork spring rolls which came with a sweet chilli vinegar sauce to dunk which was out of this world! Highly recommend!
Melbournian
Great place for going with a group of friends, ordering a bunch of dishes and sharing everything. Have never paid more than about $20 doing this, including corkage for wine and maybe a couple drinks on the bill as well. Always tastes really fresh and like they use good quality vegetables and meat, never sinewy or bad meat. Very amenable to a cheap and cheerful dinner!
Shaylee Hohapata
Tasteless. Dry chicken, flavours are a little funny, spring rolls extremely soggy. Wouldn't eat here again
Marc Unger
The springers arrived first, followed closely by the quail with pork ribs coming in 2 lengths behind. All three, while immediately clogging our arteries, were given a thumbs up, something seldom seen in recent times. The springers were crispy on the outside while moist on the inside and accompanied by some well-pickled carrots. The quail, reminiscent of a Phuc Buddies favourite, was bigger than usual. Almost in astonishment, Dizz asserted “I can’t even eat these bones”. This fact, in no way reflects a good quail but it is worth noting for the sake of Dizz’s eating habits. Next, the pork ribs, which were well spiced and flavourful, though they did have a large surface area of batter that left them a tad oily.
Vinh Vinh is a great option on Victoria Street with a broad range of Asian cuisine. The fit out is modern and colourful with yellow tables and chairs, colourful lights and Chinese art on the walls. We came here with a group and enjoyed the ability to deliver Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese offerings.
Denny
Their lunch menu has a good selection of dishes for a decent price. It doesn’t appear to be a very popular restaurant, but it does have a spacious dining area.

Walked in at 10:55pm and they still served us. So grateful and so happy there is a late night pho spot. Wish they were open till later.
Andreejumpstar
Yuck. So gross... Am now just munching on the prawn crackers...

Was Once the best Vietnamese in Victoria St. I just tried Vinh Vinh for a second time since it has changed owners. I wanted so much for it to be good but sadly the food is nowhere near the standard it once was.
Lemongrass Chilli Chicken was my favourite dish here - it was always fresh & tasty, now it is drowned in sauce with large chunks of Chicken and there was an overwhelming taste of sugar through the vegetables, the home made dim sims had no flavour. Very disappointing - now on the lookout for a new favourite.

Worst Service. This was one of the worst restaurants service I have ever experienced. I went there with my family, We had to wait some time to order our food as there was only 2 waiters. The restaurant was only 1/3 full. Once the waiter finally came we ordered 2 starters, 3 mains, and 3 drinks the waiter repeated our order back to us and then went to serve the next customer. The counter is easily visible from all seats in the restaurant, I saw that 1 of our mains was ready and sitting on the counter for some time, the waiter then proceed to serve our drinks and 5 min later server 1 of the main dishes, by this time the meal was cold. The 2nd main disk arrived another 5min later. After 30min we had not receive our 3rd main disk or any of our starters. When then walked up to the counter to check if the main was coming, the waiter checked the order and said give him 5min. After about 10min 1 of our starter came out "roti and satay sauce" which had a ridicules amount of oil in the sauce. After another 5min our 2nd starter came out. At this point we had already finished 2 of 3 main dishes and the 3rd was no were to be seen. After 15min we finished the 2 starters and asked about the 3rd main. The waiters then said we didn't order a 3rd main and we would have to re-order it (despite saying our order back to us Nemours times earlier). We then ordered it and they said 5min. After 10min we decided to leave. The waiter then said it was better to just cancel the order anyway (probably meaning that they didn't even start to cook it). We asked to speak to the manager but they said there was no manager today. I am pretty new to Melbourne but I am pretty sure its illegal to run a restaurant that serves alcohol with no manager? In any case they waiters did not offer any sort of apology and were extremely un friendly. This was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. We paid our bill and left without getting our last dish.
Rachel Gomez
Worst customer experience. Me and 2 other friends went here for dinner.. firstly they took atleast 10 minutes to take an order even when it wasn't busy despite us asking for help twice. 20 minutes later we could see one of our dishes sitting on the counter top for a good 5 minutes when we finally received It , it was cold. We received 2 dishes out of 3. 10 Minutes past so we decided to ask the waiter where the other main was since me and my friend had already finished our meals and another friend was still waiting on her food he replied with a very rushed and rude tone saying it was coming. We have it another 10 mins and asked another waiter in which he said "what you only ordered 2 dishes you never said 3" so it became obvious that he had obviously taken the wrong order then he says " so what you want another meal or what" and I said yes ofcourse my friend hasn't eatten yet!" Another 20 minutes past still no food so we decided to just pay the bill and leave when we got up to the counter he looks at us and say " you might aswell cancel your order it's going to take to long" which ended up in a huge argument between me and the waiters when asked for the manager they both rudely said no1 was there to let us make a complaint. All in all customer service 0/10 food 1/10 absolutely disgusting behaviour and food. I will never dine here again even if it's the last place on earth to get food.
Cute_gail
Disgusting!!. My sister, partner and i went there for dinner and we ordered our food. First of all they took forever to take our order and they were not even busy. We finally ordered our food with the waiter and he even repeated the order to us. My partners food came and it was sitting on the counter for atleast 5 mins. By the time he got it it was cold. Then my sisters food came. The mains came out before the entree as well which was served half n hr later. We waited for half n hr an my food still was not there because they forgot it. After asking twice about it it still hadnt arrived. The waiter was so rude and did not apologise. We finally got sick of waiting and left. Went to the cashier and the waiter was showing us the worst attitude. We asked to speak to a manager and there was no manager on duty which is illegal as they were serving alcohol We have never experienced such bad service in our life! Also we saw one of the waiters picking hes nose and serving food. Unbelievable!!

Stuffed up our order 3 times in a row + extremely OILY PHO. Won't be ordering from here again. We gave it 3 chances already. First time they brought us someone else's order after arriving 20 minutes late, second time the Pho was SO oily - like an entire bottle of oil had been accidentally dropped in the pot (it actually solidified on the top after!), - Despite all this we decided to give it one more chance assumimg the oil was a mistake - 3rd time it was still pretty oily but nowhere near as bad, but they forgot to include the beansprouts entirely this time.

Very poor customer service, and much too oily pho.

Great find!!. We frequently visit vic street but tend to dine at the same few restaurants. given that this place doesn't have a recent review I feel that I need to give them a review!! in short the food was delicious and the service was excellent. I know this is not usually the case at these restaurant.
J
Wrong side of Victoria St. I rarely eat on this side of Victoria St (you know, the side where there is only a sprinkling of restaurants) and wanted to so badly like this place, just because I can say 'hey both sides have great restaurants!) but unfortunately, the dishes we selected were not yumtastic. The beef vegetable dish was bland and the soup was just ok. The wait staff were very friendly and sweet though and ushered us to their nicest table.
FoodGloriousFood
Ducking excellent!. We have been going to Vinh Vinh for years and the food and service is consistently excellent. They do the best Peking Duck in Melbourne! Every meal I have had has been the best asian food I have experienced in Melbourne. The decor is nothing special but the food and service more than make up for it. Well worth the trip to Richmond and very reasonably priced- especially the banquet!
Tazio Flinders Lane
Excellent allround. Best Vietnamese in town. We never go anywhere else. Kim, his wife and kids are all lovely and very welcoming. We often get delivery too as their kitchen closes very late!

Needs to work on customer service. I used to go here a lot, whether it was for group functions, a dinner for two, or just takeaway wonton soup. The food was consistent but not sensational. However, I was never treated as rudely as I was the other night. Having booked in advance for a group birthday banquet celebration, I called out of courtesy to advise that we were running 10 minutes late. I was shocked to hear that unless we were there at the agreed time on the dot that our table would be given away. I can understand from the perspective of a busy restaurant, but 10 minutes isn't a huge wait when we intended to dine in a manner that would make it very much worth the while of the wait. Whoever was in the wrong, the staff at Vinh Vinh could have dealt with this situation in a much more professional manner. Sad to say I won't be returning to this venue.
Mandii
Happy I have now found my new Vietnamese takeaway place ! Ordered via eat now app and very impressed with both the service and the food. Delivery was right on time, driver excellent. Food was piping hot and very yummy. Generous portions and quality produce for a reasonable price. Highly recommend :)
Francescovezzaro
Best Vietnamese in Melb!. My family and I have been going to Vinh Vinh for 12 years, and the quality has remained at the same level of excellence since day one! We are treated like family. Food is unbelievably tasty and consistent and with speedy service even on the busiest of nights. It's always a good sign when you see the family grandmother stuffing spring rolls in the front of house. You won't be disappointed....
Food Lover
Best Vietnamese food I've ever had!. We had planned to go to Tahn Tahn on Vic Street last night but noticed that Vinh Vinh was full, so opted for this restaurant instead. We ordered pork with plum sauce, chicken and black bean, and chicken and satay. I can say this was the best Chinese/Vietnamese food I've ever had HANDS DOWN!!! Highly recommend it and will definitely be dining here again.
Eatenrun
The Papaya Salad kicks ass!
Markus Giesen
Beef with chili and lemongrass and chicken with cashews and vegetables.
Big servings, absolutely fresh, well priced.
Recommended!
Candy
Has served us very well so far!. Been here many times this winter especially for a hot and spicy soup on a cold night. Service is usually quick and they cater to your specific requests. Service usually friendly- one girl seems bored and out of it occasionally which is a shame....iv had the odd dirty glass or spoon...but overall tidy, clean, well set out, comfortable restaurant. Plentiful serves, very tasty food and great prices. Its the only one we return to on that street at this stage.
TonkleChicken
Good Food and Service (Try the Quail). This place comes across as more Chinese than Vietnamese, however the Viet food we had was very good indeed. I guess the advantage here is that there should be something on this very (and I mean very) large menu that everyone will like.

The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and comfortable, and the girls serving the tables were fantastic. Polite, attentive and efficient.

For our starters we had "Duck Rice Paper Rolls" (Awesome), "Crispy Quail Salted and Pepper" (Better than Awesome) and Seafood Spring Rolls - with the usual accompaniments. (Perfect).

Our Mains were "Combination Pancake" (Perfectly crisp), "Crispy Beef" served with "Nuoc Cham" (Dipping sauce), lettuce, mint, beanshoots and pickled carrots. (Chewy, but yummy), and Garlic Prawns. (Prawns were cooked perfectly, but the vegies were a little overdone - Still nice though)

If I were to pick one favourite from the above it would be the "Crispy Quail Salted and Pepper". - This was the standout !!!!!
Canuck In Oz
Totally awesome. Very yum yum. Great and attentive service.
Sally
Great. We have been eating at Vinh Vinh for years.. It is the best in Victoria St..has dishes on the menu that I have not seen at other Vietnamese Restaurants..
BBQ Scallops,Sticky Rice Ball to name a couple.. The food is always good..
The chef is the owner so good quality control..reasonably priced, good service.. Love it..
EAB
Really cheap, really good. Dear Vinh Vinh, thank you for delivering your yummy Pho all the way to my house in South Yarra! As a regular customer, I can say you won't be disappointed. If you order for delivery, it may take up to 1h on a weekend night if you live on this side of the river, but the food is always piping hot.
Shelley Banders
Saturday night and we had a laksa craving. We had heard that this eatery did good laksa so we made a booking and drove down. We ordered some entrees to begin and then the laksa. The entrees came out in 20min which was ok being a Saturday night. The spring rolls ok, quail rather good. We were almost finished with our spring rolls and the waitress tried to take them away?! We then waited another 30min for the laksa. It was severed in a silver bowl with frozen veggies in an overly rich unpalatable broth. The fish was battered in a strange flour mixture - I suspect tapioca flour was added?? The noodles tasted like the hokkien noodles from Coles and there were no vermicelli noodles. It was more like a curry sauce than a curry soup. Vihn Vinh: 2/10
The Amazing Ben
This place is great! Lovely, fresh , cheap food. The inside is pretty basic, but food wise it's delicious and cheap.
John
Awesome. Yum yum, chicken coconut curry with rice.
Also the squid with pepper and salt, yum!

Delivery guy is nice, had 2 different ones, one is honest and came back to give me extra change, but It was his tip, the other one charged me more than what the guy said it would be on phone, dodgy!
Mmmsedap
Average. Apart from the late opening hours and having a liquor license, I don't there is much to rave about in terms of the food here. Both the pho and the crispy chicken rice we had were passable, but with so many other nearby options, I doubt I would return unless other places were closed already.
Michelle
Take away never arrived. Yesterday I placed an order at 5.20pm, I was told that the order would take 40 - 50 mins. After an hour and a half I called Vinh Vinh to see where my order was, and was simply told it would be another 10 mins away - no apology given, they just hung up. After 25 mins I called them back, and was told it will be 10 mins. My partner and I waited another half an hour! Fed up and disgruntled we called them asking where our order was only to hear "hello we can't hear you" and had them hang up on us! at 8.10pm (nearly 3 hours after placing our order) we gave up and went and ordered food from another restaurant. We will NEVER be going back to Vinh Vinh. It is one thing to be late, but another thing to offer no apology, or to manage expectations.
Christie Godby
Our regular. We've been hitting Vinh Vinh since the first day they were open.

Nowhere can be perfect all the time, but of the hundred or so times we've eaten there or had take-away there's only a handful of incidents - fairly minor ones (flavour's not quite there, particular waiter stuffs up order AGAIN).

When my dad visits from Sydney, it's always his preference - extremely fresh, good quality.

Highlights on the menu for me:

Prawn spring rolls.
A MUST - with all the trimmings.

Peking Duck.
Totally casual, totally delicious (but it is true that sometimes the 'pancakes' are a little dry)

Chicken Coleslaw.
AMAZING. REFRESHING. TASTY.

Salt & Pepper squid.
According to a well-travelled friend of mine who I took there one night, possibly the best S&P squid he's ever had. Again, sometimes not quite on the mark - but when it is, my god you will know it.

Good prices.

We moved out of the area a year ago - so instead of take-away, we just make a night of it instead. Can get noisy when busy, but that just means you know it's good.
Lily Hartley
Best delivery take away our family has ever had..the pho the coleslaw as well
As the duck were amazing!
Shane
Worth a try. We liked the food and service was great.
Brendan McNally
Pad Thai noodles and pork had a perfect texture and great balance of flavour and chilli. The salt n pepper pork ribs were a real delight The service fast efficient and very courteous

Local favourite. Vinh Vinh is our regular take-away, and we regularly dine in too. It's a relaxed atmosphere (unless there are hordes of small children tearing around unsupervised), and while it's not 'fancy' it's a couple of notches up from your traditional Vic St laminate table tops.
Highly recommended: Homemade Steamed Dim Sims, Laksa (REALLY good laksa), Green Papaya Salad, and the noodle soups are served with a good quality stock.
Also, the sweetest and loveliest delivery man going round for home deliveries!
Yumtums
Quite seriously the best laksa ever.
Conventdweller
Always like this restaurant, even though there are always menu items "not available, run out" sometimes never available, still on menu. Love their green curry and the eggplant dishes. Prices have just gone up, making it expensive rather than affordable as before...... Getting ready for the carbon tax?
Purple Bear
Average. Vinh Vinh is actually quite a typical Vietnamese restaurant. The food is decent but a bit overpriced.
LeesA Cee
Average but enjoyable!. Vinh Vinh is a popular place particularly with the younger crowd. It certainly is value for money and if you enjoy a noisy environment with not much room to move then you will feel right at home. The staff are great and helpful, and the wait for food is average time. Meal portions are just right and there is a wide variety of dishes to please the most fussiest of diners. Food is nice but nothing to rave about. Would not return. Be sure to book early and be patient finding a car park. Give it a try!
Ruby
A favorite. This place is awesome we come here all the time! Sweet and sour chicken is great!
BellaItalia
Great value on Victoria Street. Good value, fabulous salt and pepper squid, lovely owners who always look after you. Have dined here in a group and we never leave hungry.

3rd visit... This visit impressed some Sydneysider vegetarians. Thurs night 10 min table wait was worth it - there's a reason this place is busy. Tofu dishes done really well and very fresh. Passed on the ubiquitous S & P squid for Pork with chilli & lemongrass (excellent), chinese broccoli (consistent), fried combo rice (non-oily and fresh) and spicy beef special (brilliant). Extra freshness to the dishes, quality sauces and light ont he oil.... and a pleasing bill total.
Emma Wafula
Always a winner. My partner and I are regular visitors always get the salt and pepper squid and NEVER fails us!
Always satisfied and happy after our regular visits.
Tigger
Yes it is a little more expensive than lots of places on Vic St (not expensive when compared to elsewhere though) but you can't fault the food - always tasty
Hegsy
I have been visiting Vinh Vinh for many years. The food is tasty and of a high quality every single time. The service is family friendly. Whenever I have a special event such as a birthday or anniversary I always go there. Do yourself a favour!
John Boxall
Great pho. Stopped in for an early Friday lunch. Duck rice paper rolls were very fresh with a great serve of meat. Fried wontons also flavoursome and left us wanting another plate. Beef ball pho spot on - great broth and the flavour stayed right to the last drop. The service was also relaxed and it was nice to be in an Asian restaurant and not be rushed out the door. Deserves all the good reviews, as it is great.

Bad Take Away Experience - TERRIBLE VALUE, EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I ordered a takeaway and it was 3/4 rice and only had 1 or 2 bits of pork in it. Terrible value

I called up and the person told me it was impossible that it only had 1 piece of pork and effectively was saying that I was lying. I stated I wasnt after a free meal or anything, but just that I thought it was bad value for money.

When I said it was 3/4 full of rice he gave no response. I offered to send a picture too via email or mms. Said he didnt have internet at the shop.

This meal was $9.00, hardly a large sum of money, but certainly not great value given the amount of rice.

The picture shows the take away container. It was taken as I opened it, and below the rice there was no bed of pork and veges. If anything the rice actually went under the pork and veges!!

Thought I would steer away from my usual vietnamese restaurant. Big Mistake. Having lived in Vietnam for 2 years, I love Vietnamese food.

Wont be going back here. A shame too as a friend recommended it and I am currenlty looking for a place to have a get together of 25 people for a weeknight work function.

Lucky I tried it first. Unlucky for Vinh Vinh.
Jo
Favourite Restaurant in Melbourne. Vinh Vinh is my favourite restaurant in Melbourne. THE BEST rice paper rolls, Vietnamese coleslaw, fried rice, Pho...... always impressed, both dine in and takeaway. Thanks Vinh Vinh, you help make Melbourne a great place!
RoseW
Awesome! Great coleslaw, so flavourful! Best on V street! Really tasty bun too.
Delicious
Sooooo good. amazingly fresh and cheap. my new Victoria St regular.
Ultimate Behemoth
A great option on Victoria st. like many options on the street it is exceptional value. The coleslaw is delicious and fresh. The Laksa is one of the best I have had. Highly recommended!
Danny M
Delicious, fresh and cheap.
David Clapham
Great food at a great price. We came at 7 on a Saturday night and had our food within minutes of ordering. Camp fire beef was messy but delicious but the chilli lemongrass beancurd and coconut rice was amazing.
Nicole Humphreys
Laksa to die for. The laksa and tom yum soup are delicious here! Service is a little slower than other places on Victoria street - but this is a GOOD thing - they're actually making it fresh back there :)

The food was great. The singapore noodles were very tasty. Service was a little slow for a busy night but I forgave that due to the quality.
