Nice, low key cafe, with good food and coffee, as well as reasonable prices. I often wonder why the cafes further up Nicholson St have queues out the door, when just down the road at Quint you can get a decent lunch without any fuss. Then again, do I really want the Instagram crowd spoiling my favourite Abbotsford cafe?
Located in the corner of Nicholson St and Victoria St. The place was alright, spacious and very calm.
Customer service was great.
Ordered coffee (mocha), it's too milky but surely it is the cheapest in this area - small size $3.50 and large size for $4.00.
Keen to try the breakfast menu and other cakes. They look so yummy!!

This is a comfortable cafe. I've been there many times. The staff are lovely. The cafe itself is open and well lit. The food is better in the morning that the afternoon. The muffins are great as is the smashed avo. Coffee? Great. Prices are sensible.
I'm a picky eater for the "simple" foods, not really a foodie so bare with me. The big breakfast here is by far the best ever. I'm not one to be a fan of the typical "hipster" brunches/breakfasts, so often aim for a big breakfast, and here offers the best with all the right "ingredients", and all for so, so cheap! Love the environment, always get my food quick and coffees are great. AND, the best thing of all... one of the cheapest places for the big breakfast. And if I'm ever not feeling like breakfast, I just get the parma, again... amazing!
TL;DR: Come here if you want a stellar and cheap big breakfast! Plus free (get it validated at Woolies)/$1 parking at the HIVE shopping centre, even better!
The interior decor seems like it would fit better in Fitzroy but given I love Fitzroy I felt right at home. The food was good and staff lovely.
This cafe is a few doors down from our new office and is very underrated! The almond and coconut bounty hot chocolate and salted caramel bliss balls are soooo good! My husband ate the beef burger and compared it to 8bit commenting that it is definitely on par! Well worth a visit! Parking is easy; in the underground car park in the Hive shopping centre. Good service.
A comfortable rest stop more than a destination. Corn fritters, smashed avocado, rocket, salsa, haloumi and poached eggs, what's not to like? Found out belatedly that matcha latte is this place's specialty. Whoops, maybe next time.
My peanut butter toast and matcha latte were amazing!! The gluten-free bread was soooooo yummy!!!!
I forgot to say that I want almond mylk (or whatever mylk but not cow's milk!) must try the matcha again next time with nuts mylk :)
I have nothing bad to say about this cafe. Sure, there's not a whole lot to distinguish it from the many other inner north Melbourne cafes, but I'd very happily eat here again. Also, a huge range for vegetarians to chose from.
I've only had a matcha latte from here so I can't comment on much, though what I can say is that the matcha latte was great! My milk was perfectly smooth with not a bubble in sight! They serve the honey on the side so you can add as much or as little as you like. Customer service was excellent.
Nice cafe nested on a busy intersection in Richmond. After renovations, there is definitely a great feel to the place. Although food and coffee is average, the service is friendly and attentive. Would come back again next time when in the neighbourhood.
There's three things I love about this place which have made it a no brainer when deciding on a local cafe to frequent:
1) they make your coffee how YOU want it, not how THEY want you to have it, which seems to be the trend at some nearby establishments. So if you want an extra hot, large, strong skinny latte in a mug - that's exactly what you'll get.
2) they always have newspapers on hand so if you're looking for a quick break and to catch up on the news, this place works
3) whilst the food is good I've never had to queue up outside in the rain to get a table.
Friendly staff, a relaxed atmosphere and a good ambience - keep it up and I'll continue to come back, time and time again. Thanks for keeping it real!
I wouldn't make Quint the destination, but as a place for coffee and a bite of brunch whilst doing the shopping it's great. The quality of food has significantly improved over the last year and the sour dough bread used on most breakfast menu items is fresh and tasty. Prices are reasonable and coffee's the nicest of anywhere close by. Try the corn and halumi fritters - you won't be disappointed.
Just walk on the street and try to find a comfortable looking cafe. Coffee was beautiful and creamy. My son had fresh apple juice and Big breakfast was cooked with my favourite rosemary with sweet tomato. Staff is friendry and very relaxed cafe.
Perfect big brekkie was so delicious it was definitely one of the best well cooked meals I've ever had. Each component was perfectly cooked from the crunchy sour dough to the crispy bacon and the flavourful mushrooms! The spinach a bit over salted but I didn't mind it at all! And they definitely know how to do their chorizos! Keep it up guys decor looking real fly
I really like this place. I visit once every few weeks when I am in the area and have consistently found the service to be efficient, the staff friendly and the food & coffee excellent. Many of the other cafes nearby are rather grim ... so Quint is a breath of fresh air.
Decent food, average coffee at the usual prices. Nothing really stands out in particular with Quint Cafe but no strong dislikes either. Just meh.
With retro chic decor and funky art, the place is quintessentially hipster without trying too hard. Yet still family friendly with spacious interiors and a comfortable waiting area where you can sip coffee if there is a wait. And it is definitely worth having a cup or two of their house blend over breakfast, especially when it’s your first cup back in Melbourne after being away.
Yummy!. Glad the ricotta pancakes with maple mascarpone are still on the menu! The fritters are also good too.
Delicious. I frequent here as often as possible. I'm always guaranteed a great coffee, fresh juice and they have a great choice of meals without the pretentious attitude of many cafes. the staff are amazing!
Unpretentious cafe, good food and friendly staff. I live pretty close by and this is usually my go-to place for weekday coffees and weekend brunch with my partner. The menu is not complicated and they have most of the standard options that you can think of for breakfast. Good price for the generous portion. Food is tasty. It's a plus that they are usually very flexible about changing items on the menu. I always ask for soy milk in my porridge, and my partner usually ask for crispy bacon. Quality of coffee can vary depending on who makes it, but still good nevertheless. It is quite a laid back place, and while it can get busier on weekends, there will usually be tables available.
All in all, a great place for coffee or brunch if you are looking for simple, unpretentious food, or a place where you can relax and not worry about queuing. They have free WiFi too, and the staff are usually quite happy even if you spend a few hours there on weekdays.
Unexpected cafe in Richmond as it looks like it belongs north of the river, complete with the guy serving you with long hair and a dirty tshirt. Enough room to sit comfortably and no pretentious lines makes a perfect breakfast spot and even better was the yummiest sourdough bread I've ever tasted - fresh and still doughy-ish. The buttered mushrooms with fetta and almonds was yumtastic! Fresh oj was also...fresh.
I eat here everyday. It's not really close to my home or work so yeah, it's because I love it.
Super well priced food. Great coffee. Not packed like anything else in the area that has good coffee. Kinda a damn good secret I should be keeping to myself.
The veggie breakfast is epic. Great gluten free options and the salad with goats cheese impresses everyone.

Got here after the man went to the dentist... Really lovely place with funky rock n roll tunes. Staff were really attentive and food was delicious! Only noticed the cabinet of food when paying the bill... so will have to return.
I was at IKEA on the weekend with the missus and felt like eating breakfast foods even though it was lunchtime (as you do). I resigned myself to driving to a cafe in the city when I stumbled upon this cafe on the way. Seeing tables available we took a gamble and decided to give it a try, and were we glad we did. The prices are pretty good, the portions were very generous and most importantly the food tasted great. I had 'the standard' (bacon, eggs, toast, chorizos, tomato, hashbrown) and the wife had the more calorie-friendly zucchini fritters and we both enjoyed our meals immensely.
The place is great - it's quiet, service is good, food is cheap and tastes great. Coffee was nice also! We both agreed to come here everytime we visit IKEA from now on. Thumbs up!
Breakfast on Vic Street. Great cafe on Vic Street. Food is great especially the corn and zucchini fritter. The avocado and salsa mix was tasty and the fritters were very crisp but not dry - best if all it wasn't just dough like other places. Poached eggs done perfectly. Prices very cheap, coffee great and staff know your name. Def will be my new local. Unpretentious with no wannabes. Why wait for 40 minutes for a table like other places for overpriced eggs (seriously how good can eggs possibly get?) and to be rushed in and out. Quint is not the place to go if you want to be seen or be like all the other sheep in Melbourne, but if you want a cosy relaxed place to chill and lounge about with free wifi, then Quint is perfect.

Cosy cafe on the Victoria st stretch. Super inviting decor, kid friendly, daily papers, great coffee and always good, or at the very least interesting music. Not your typical 'Cafe Tunes Vol.3' on repeat every day. A whole stack of old books to flip through and magazines aswell.
Staff are always friendly and recognize and chat to their regulars. Not for everyone I guess but I love the laid back atmosphere and being a part of their joking around and including the kids.
Food is improving with time, however the tandoori chicken burger has always been a winner! And everything is very modestly priced. Freshly baked muffins, slices and loaves are always a delicious and irresistible treat with my coffee and the owner Lily is always very obliging when it comes to making modifications to meals or wrapping something up to take away.
Absolutely love this place and those who don't are too highly strung I say!

Good Ambience, NIce Breakfast.. Cafe Quint offers a nice full english breakfast, fresh tasty juices and great coffee. Diner is also pretty good here and they have a decent beer and wine selection.

English style brunch on Victoria Street's Asian end. Fantastic coffee and very strong! Great for the coffee addict needing a fix, as most of the nearby shops serve sweet Vietnamese coffee.
Food on the other hand, though reasonably priced, was nothing special. The omlette on toast was exactly that with a few chopped veggies added in. The french toast was also very mundane. Nothing wrong with either dish, but neither did they provide any wow factor whatsoever.
This is without doubt our favourite place to have breakfast and trust me there are no shortage of options around the area. Coffee always perfect temp, breakfasts are awesome and they don't mind substitutions. Staff are chilled, friendly and service is always prompt. One of the best cafes in Melbourne!
Even at 7.30 am their staff always have a smile and friendly greeting. Great coffee, yummy cakes and they are happy to fill your reusable cup. Large is $4 and you get 6th coffee free
8am, Tuesday morning. Can't help but appreciate the serenity here as I get my caffeine kick for the day while listening to the the ambient chill-out tracks and looking out the large windows at the hustle and bustle of peak hour Melbourne traffic.
The staff also embody the whole vibe here with their friendly, relaxed approach to quality service.

Dropped in for a coffee on thursday and was blown away, beautiful coffee produced with fresh beans, right correct grind and perfect temperature. Well done guys, I'm now coming back for brekky.
