Visited for a late afternoon lunch (I mean I still call it brunch) on the way to somewhere else. It’s probably not located quite where someone would expect in Abbotsford (given that the area is dominated by Asian eateries, aside from the more established and known local cafes), but for me it worked.
Couldn’t fault a thing. The staff member that served us was a standout. Genuinely friendly and enthusiastic about their own menu. Nice ambience, no fuss. I do have to mention that it was quiet, but that’s not a sign of anything, just meant more table room for us.
Oh, and the food was good. Looking forward to returning to try more of the menu. Cute fitout, great staff, nice food. Worth a visit.
This is a great spot on the corner of Victoria and Lithgow Street.
The space is really homely and the staff from the moment you walk in, greet you with a smile and great service.
The kitchen puts out a good variety of ‘eye candy’ and the flavours compliment their creations.
Try the breakfast roll with chorizo salsa or the smoothie breakfast bowl will have you swimming with a mermaid (or a seahorse).
Will definitely be back for the skillet...
Surrounded by Vietnamese restaurants and grocery stores, this cafe stands out with its innovative, eclectic menu. Can't decide what to eat? Scan the QR code to see the food pics - so smart.
The Chorizo Baked Beans sure woke up my tastebuds! Perfectly smoky slices of chorizo, more chorizo mixed with baked beans, 2 fried eggs with yolks that burst in the mouth, kifler potatoes, green salad combined with toasted sourdough and garnished with flair using salsa verdi. So much flavour in this one bowl with a distinctive kick, I had to cleanse the palette before having the rest of the deliciously sweet and creamy beetroot latte.
Friendly staff and fast service throughout the visit. The cafe is sectioned, reminiscent of someone's old house with 90s and 2000's dance music adding vibe. The seat to table height ratio wasn't quite right for me, but that wouldn't prevent me from coming back.
TURN UP THE VOLUME, PEEPS! 🎉
Okay okay, I don’t want to be screaming... but I am surely talking very loud! 😂
BECAUSE HELLO BLUE SMOOTHIE BOWL OF YOUR DREAMS 🧜♀️ (and not just smoothie bowl but hey, how pretty is that!)
Volume is the amount of space that a substance or object takes, or the whole area that is found within certain limits. And volume2cafe has taken a little space at the heart of Abbotsford under the eye of Andrew and his partner Frini as well as the magic of the talented chef Rachael Jones!
-
And while we don’t really need to be causing any auditory damage, so shhhhh 🤭 I’ll say very gently that THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING SMOOTHIE BOWL I HAVE HAD IN A WHILE AND GOES RIGHT UP TO MY TOP FAVOURITES 😱
I arrived in Abbotsford in the middle of the morning and found the place very easily. It’s located right in the main street and just across some of the main Asian supermarkets of the area. The entrance is actually quite distinctive and the whole cafe is enclosed in an old architectural building! It actually surprised me how much it has been preserved and how simple yet complex the arch of the entry is!
One you get inside you find a semi open room with an opening to the side room and the back (where there are so extra rooms with seats!) and the place is very welcoming straight away! Why? Because the barista station is ideally displayed and the props and items they have on the cafe just set up the mood for an incredible experience!
It surprised me how much art you can find inside this little gem of Abbotsford and you will be speechless by staring at the drawings and paintings. It’s not like a boring art gallery- not at all! It’s actually drawings of actually landscapes and divine scenes and it’s just INSPIRING to look at them! Beautiful, beautiful! 👌
I chose to sit at the table with high benches, in the room close to the entrance but if you find the height too much, they will be more than happy to accommodate you inside! In fact the whole team and service was OUTSTANDING 👏 and I can also see the locals know about it as the place was frenetic with people in and out and many enjoying their weekend brunch!
I can say straight away that if I lived near, I would certainly be a regular costumer. It’s a family business and you can tell straight away that everyone is welcomed with the upmost love and care and that they do everything to make sure you have a great experience here. I found it so comfortable to be inside that even though I visited alone, I didn’t feel lonely or out of place - people actually made conversation with me and I had a very enjoyable brunch!
Here’s what I tried from the menu:
- Smoothie Bowl - the new item on their menu that will be a star in Melbourne’s smoothie bowls! Seriously, this is not just about the looks (that are amazing as you can see from the pictures) but actually the combination of flavours, the ingredients used and the items in the Bowl are PERFECT! Being a blue bowl, doesn’t make it a guaranteed win, because what looks good and insta-worthy can be sometimes not good in taste but here WOW 👏 THEY NAIL IT! It is a blend of mango, banana and pineapple with some blue spirulina and a touch of lemon for the perfect final balance of sweetness and I have to stand up and applause for this one because it is PERFECTLY executed! Consistency on point and it is served in a shell bowl having a great serving, which will certainly satisfy you! And if the portion is good indeed, the whole she’ll smoothie comes pairing with not only the blue smoothie but the whole topping selection! Rachael has created herself some mermaid and sea inspired vegan coloured white chocolate toppings that take this to an ultimate level 👌👏 I had seen some versions with a blue mermaid tail and mine came with a pink mermaid tail and some blue shells! ADORABLE 😍 and more - the taste is incredible! The vegan while chocolate has a delicious taste of just a sweet delicate chocolate and the consistency of the whole mold is very malleable and not hard block chocolate! I personally loved the idea and will also try to recreate it on my own smoothies! The other toppings are also very well chosen and I have personally very high expectations for the granolas used in smoothie bowls as they can be the winner of a bowl or the ultimate fail - and here, again they nailed it! 👏 portion size is ideal and the granola is of ideal sweetness and ingredients! It is a maple granola with some citrus protein balls and fresh and freeze dried fruits and I cannot highlight how AMAZING again this was! It’s a 10/10. Wait, an 11/10! 15/10 even! 👏👏👏 you need this in your life if you’re a smoothie bowl lover.
- Falafel Bowl - I decided to go for a savoury meal to balance the sweet meal although it was a difficult choice between this one and the muesli bowl! Both sounded very promising but the falafel won me over because or the beetroot hummus 😂 this is actually SUCH a filling meal! The falafels are INCREDIBLE and size is bigger than your usual falafels and the density is impressive! Not in a bad way! It is actually packed with a blend of flavours that work surprisingly well and I absolutely loved it! Portion is just right, definitely! It also come with a mountain (yes, definitely a mountain!) of sautéed spring vegetables from asparagus to beans and cauliflower and they were all very enjoyable and nicely cooked with that slight roast touch - a bliss! The best part was definitely not the beetroot hummus, that I was already expecting to love - and I absolutely did! It’s such a great portion (also underneath the vegetables!) and the taste is luxurious- but it was actually the chickpeas and toasted almonds! Wow! I wasn’t expecting that combo with the other ingredients would pair so nicely! 👏 incredible work here again combining all the flavours and arranging just a mouth watering meal! It also comes with herbed avocado and an impeccable and drooling tahini dressing on top of the falafels that made me lick my fingers (figuratively😂 although I would do it too for this 😂)! If you’re a savoury lover, you will find this out of this world and if you’re a sweet person, you will undeniably love it as much!
- Cinnamon Almond Latte - I also asked for my usual cafe order of an almond latte with cinnamon on top and it was executed to perfection, with great amount of foam and impeccable taste 👏 like I said, I would definitely make this my daily cafe pick up it I lived in the area!
- Beetroot Almond Latte - out of curiosity I decided to see if they could do coloured lattes as well as they know how to work with the food. Plus, investing in a good chai, matcha, beetroot or turmeric powder says a lot about the cafe, especially the beetroot! Some powders are too earthy and ruin the pleasure of the drink and others are make with too much or too little powder, which again doesn’t create the best blend. Here?! Incredible! I have no words to describe how enjoyable and delicious the latte was, again with significant amount of foam and an impressive pink look too 👏
And while I think it’s pretty clear already that you need an increase of a type of volume other than auditory and I just want to reiterate that I absolutely loved everything about this place and it’s one of my top favourite cafes in Melbourne. I highly recommend it for the service, food and overall art experience!
So, yes, you want that (temporary) extra volume in your belly, you sure do! 😍😂
😱Lizzie’s first impression: situated in the busy strip that is Victoria st, this cute brunch place has many sections of seating areas. The staff here are super nice and the food was great!
🍩Lizzie enjoyed: I tried the mixed fruits porridge bowl and it was super fresh and yummy. It wasn’t too sweet so it allowed me to pair the porridge with the fruits which were also very sweet. I also tried the salmon dish with a salad - the salmon was cooked to perfection and fell off the skin easily. I also had one of their juices which tasted amazing – it had a bit of ginger in it which definitely kick started my day for me.
🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: I do love a good bowl of fries for brunch but these ones were a little under cooked for my liking so wasn’t as crispy as I usually like it. Nonetheless, the portion was so generous.
🥇Lizzie rates overall: love the décor of this restaurant and love the service too as well as the wide range of dishes on their menu.
Volume 2 Cafe is a delightful eatery in Abbotsford serving top notch coffee and interesting brunch options.
We loved both of the dishes we sampled.
The falafel bowl was a perfectly assembled and nutrient dense dish comprising of sauteed spring vegetables, crispy falafels, luxurious beetroot hummus, chickpeas, goats cheese, toasted almonds, herbed avocado and tahini dressing.
The cauliflower tacos were similarly delicious. Think taco skins topped with crispy fried cauliflower, pickled beetroot and onion slaw, guacamole, charred cauliflower puree, crispy shallots and chipotle mayo. This is a vegan dish on its own but there is the added option of adding tender pulled lamb (which we highly recommend!).
Volume 2 being labeled in abbotsford made me think it was in abbotsford convent! Instead, it's more closer to richmond side haha.
Ordered:
🍧 Smoothie Bowl (v, vgo, gf): mango, pineapple, passionfruit and blue spirulina, ocean bowl topped with coconut granola, banana, berries, protein balls & white chocolate shells ($16.00)
🥦 Cauliflower fries (g, v, vg): crispy cauliflower with chipotle mayo ($9.00)
Review:
First bite of the smoothie bowl was brain-freeze inducing. Take caution!!! Luckily, I figured out the magic of mixing the granola in with the smoothie which made it so much more palatable. The fruit and berries are super refreshing in this dish, but I ended up leaving the white chocolate behind. The sweetness was too jarring against all the other flavours.
Service was really nice and they come around and check up on you. The rooms and setting is very much in a house that's been refurbished, but the separated areas do give you the illusion of more privacy.
Volume 2 was a fun place, with fun food. A great place to try out!
Volume 2 Cafe is considered a newly established brunch cafe situated in the heart of Abbotsford along side with many Asian restaurants and other Grocery shops. This neighborhood is lucky to have Volume 2 that offers fresh and creative brunch dishes and good coffee. We’re glad to be invited by Andrew Sholakis and Volume 2 Cafe’s team to have brunch experience.
Yay: Cappuccino, Fresh Juice, Fritter Me This, White Chocolate Daddy Waffles
Nay: Slaw in the The Purp & The Pork was slightly too sour and it overcame the overall taste.
Situated along Victoria Street amongst Vietnamese restaurants, Volume Two Cafe offers a creative brunch option right in the heart of Abbotsford. The rooms within provide a homely feel, and the comforting menu makes it feel even more like home.
With a few tweaks here and there, Volume Two is bound to become the local for many.
Great new cafe. Much needed in this area! Burger and fritters excellent and the service was spot on.
4.5
Set amongst the Vietnamese restaurants in Victoria Street, is this fabulous gem.
Unassuming from the outside, this converted space is perfect for a cafe, with upbeat music and various rooms for dining. Depending on your needs you can go for an intimate dining room or the more communal space.
Sitting in the back room with lovely sunshine streaming through the window we started with a couple of cracking lattes, my strong almond was sensational, just the heart starter I needed.
For breakfast I chose the Smoothie Bowl, this refreshing mango & banana combo was beautifully smooth and paired perfectly with the crunchy maple granola. The inclusion of lemon balm was just divine and added citrus protein balls added another element of texture and flavour. This dish was extremely filling and had the added benefit of being extremely healthy. Served really cool too.
Little Lamb Benedict consisted of lamb shoulder, poached eggs, hollandaise, pickled red cabbage. The lamb was fall apart tender and packed a heap of flavour. The eggs nicely poached and hollandaise subtle. The pickled cabbage certainly packed a punch and I found I didn’t need all of this but a little was ok and it did add some colour to this awesome dish.
For dessert we shared the White Chocolate Daddy Waffles, this plate was packed with variety of tart, sweet, crunchy and smooth, everything for the senses and pleasantly not too sweet. What was sweet was the dolce de leche pour over caramel which we added to the right level for us. We also really enjoyed the inclusion of passionfruit and lychee and the wonderful popcorn, white chocolate buttons and granola mix. Each mouthful had something different going on, lots of fun.
Such vibrant and well presented dishes and such a pleasant brunch spot. Thank you Volume 2 for your hospitality.
We were invited to Volume 2 today which occupies the space formerly known as Little Big Sugar Salt. There’s been a bit of a reno since then and it now boasts an open kitchen. It’s quite a quirky little venue and I imagine it was originally a house owing to its many rooms.
Today we ordered the lean mean green machine (husband obviously) and the smash me avocado (me always) which came with a bit of a twist, a zucchini herb salad, basil salt and crispy kale. I liked how they differentiated this dish. The goats curd on here was yummy too.
For our sweet dish option we almost went with the waffles but a vain attempt to be healthy saw us choose the mango smoothie bowl. This was really enjoyable and super summery and refreshing. Good coffee too
Volume 2 may seem out of place in the predominantly Vietnamese Victoria Street in Richmond, but it blends right in with its homely, casual yet quirky vibe. Walk in and you're made to feel as if you're visiting a friend.
I had my heart set on the White Chocolate Daddy Waffles, and the friendly owner gave me excellent recommendations on what other dish to order, in the form of the smoothie bowl and the Choo Choo Chorizo Bean.
The vibrant and refreshing smoothie bowl was of the smoothest consistency, and the citrus protein balls added a hint of zestiness. Fresh fruits rounded up this bright tasting and beautiful bowl.
The adorably named Choo Choo Chorizo Bean packed a flavour punch. The house made beans were hearty and flavourful, as was the chorizo. An abundance of greens balanced out this otherwise heavy dish.
The waffles tasted as good as they looked. Soft, fluffy and with a crisped edge, the waffles were a delight to eat. The creamy caramel sauce, the fresh fruits and the tangy cream all went do well together.
My friend and I also enjoyed the beetroot latte and matcha latte very much, providing a balanced earthy flavour to our indulgent meal.
Volume 2 ticks all the right boxes, and is a must visit for everyone. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
If you are ever in the inner suburbs looking for a place to chill and have some good coffee and good food, definitely come to Volume 2! Their food is made with so much love that it shows through their service, beautifully plated breakfast meals and desserts and most of all their amazing coffee! Food doesn't just look good, it tastes good too! Get their sweet potato fries, lamb Benedict and breakfast burgers and if you are still keen for something sweet, definitely try their desserts !!!!!!!
Situated on the corner of a busy road in Abbotsford, Volume 2 cafe stands out because of it's gorgeous exterior; but it's upon entering that you are really taken by surprise. This gorgeous renovated building has a number of different dining rooms, all with their own particular style and aesthetic. What remains consistent is the cosiness and friendly ambience that envelops you, and this is aided by the generous and friendly staff who are happy to have a chat and help you settle in with the menu. We chose the back room which basked in natural light, a gorgeous open fireplace and comfortable furniture.
After starting with fantastic coffee, we began with the corn fritters. These crispy little quenelles of flavour were a real delight. Served with a corn veloute, poached eggs, avocado and a tangy salad; everything married together perfectly with a great combination of textures and flavours. Crispy fritters, creamy corn and avocado, crunchy salad and beautifully poached eggs. Such a lush dish, and a real winner in my eyes.
For dessert I had to try the waffles, and I'm so glad that I did. With an abundance of fresh fruit, including passion fruit and lychees; and a luxe passion fruit cream, this really was fabulous. However, it was the jug of homemade caramel sauce that pulled it all together. The crispy and fluffy waffles just soaked up this perfect sauce, and it was a dream to eat. The fruit added that much needed sharpness and freshness to help cut through the sweet sauce, and overall it just worked together seamlessly. We definitely finished on a winner, and I would suggest that it's a must have when you visit.
Volume 2 has all the ingredients of what I consider necessary to be a successful cafe. A beautiful venue in a fabulous location; lovely staff delivering fabulous service; and of course, a menu that stands out with it's quality ingredients and interesting twists on cafe classics. Volume 2 delivers on all of these qualities and is definitely a standout in the area..
A stunning space in the heart of Abbotsford in Melbourne!
we ordered;
“𝘚𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘯”
Confit salmon, wild rice tabbouleh, fresh herbs, toasted nuts and seeds, pickles, tahini chili and lemon dressing 🤤
&
“The Purp & The Pork” ⚡️
Juicy pulled pork on a beetroot bun drizzled in hot vinegar mayo 🥵 𝘔𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘣𝘺 @chefetterach
Both dishes beautifully presented and executed to perfection! Beautiful coffee too!
Highly recommend paying these guys a visit!
Thank you again 😊
Volume 2 cafe is located on Victoria Street which is well known for it's Vietnamese eateries and grocery due to it's history, but like many older suburbs it's undergoing a slow change in scenery with the new generation business owners. The cafe space is very cosy as it has many smaller rooms inside being a heritage building.
Right from the moment we walked in we were greeted with fantastic service and this continued throughout our visit.
Very different looking place, like an old home done up with little rooms with a few tables in each. If you like a cafe vibe with lots of people this might not be for you, but if you like more privacy, it is nice.
I got the chorizo and beans dish, which was delicious but so fulling, i couldnt finish it! We also got some chips and the herb sauce it came with was amazing, probably highlight of the meal.
Never been disappointed great food & service, love their food combos simply delicious never boring.............. convenient meeting business colleagues during the week
Invited to have brunch here yesterday and it was amazing. The cafe is situation in the middle of Victoria st, something different from all the Vietnamese restaurants.
Inside there are multiple rooms to sit in, each well lit with natural light.
We tried a few dishes; smoothie bowl, silly salmon and the waffles to finish up.
The smoothie bowl was really fresh, and the flavours were yum. It had the perfect ratio of smoothie and granola.
The silly salmon was the best salmon dish my wifey has tasted (big claim) but I can second that. Cooked perfectly, crispy skin, melt in your mouth salmon with amazing flavours. Highly recommend.
Crispy and moist the waffles were the perfect finisher.

Could not fault – fantastic on every area.
I don’t know where to begin… to me Volume Two stood out because the entire experience was so much more than just breakfast.
📍Volume Two is located on Victoria Street in Abbotsford, with tram lines running right outside. A fantastic location that is central and easily accessible by those driving or using public transport.
🔆 The location is an traditional old Melbourne home transformed into a cosy, trendy Melbourne Café. With multiple room for seating, you’re able to feel at home without all the noise and distraction you may find in other big cafes. The addition of modern elements such as lighting, seating, bathroom features.. gives the café that extra touch of trend.
👥I spoke with the café owner, manager and the head chef. Each consistent with the other – enthusiastic and passionate about what they do and the experience they offer their customers. A really impressive achievement and one that I haven’t found very often. The team are friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much for them!
The food and coffee both impressed us significantly too.
What we had?
🍽 The ‘Smoooothie Bowl’ $16 (V, VG, DF, GF)
💬 Such a fresh and sweet bowl of strong mango and banana flavours. The added elements is what makes this bowl really interesting. With the addition of the frozen dried fruit, the maple granola and even some citrus protein balls! Definitely ‘ooooo’ worthy!
🍽 ‘White Chocolate Daddy Waffles’ $18 (V)
💬 Heavenly. Decadent. Yes! The Vanilla and White Chocolate Waffles is paired with some strong flavours that all seem to work really nicely together. It seemed ambitious to put passion fruit mascarpone, fruit, nuts AND a dulce de leche sauce… but wow. It was something that we happily shared and divulged into. The perfect dish to end on, or to start… we’re not judging!
🍽 The ‘Choo Choo Chorizo Beans’ $22 (GFO, DF)
💬 Not only does this dish look incredible but it also tastes absolutely DE - licious ! The combination of ingredients.. charred chorizo, chorizo baked beans, kifler potatoes, fried eggsm salsa Verdi, toaster sourdough… seriously what an absolute breakfast champion. This is a dish that truly cannot be missed!
💬🌟 Overall, I could not fault Volume 2. Every dish that we tried was such an exciting change to the usual breakfast options. The mix of flavours challenged the usual breakfast stereotypes and worked incredibly well together. An absolute hats of to the chef and those who worked on this menu. The staff were on a whole other level and the café interior was the perfect cosy spot to have a morning brunch feast of this calibre.
I have and will continue to recommend this café to anyone who is looking to try somewhere new.
💚 Great Easy-To-Get-To Location
💚 Fantastic Coffee
💚 Delicious Food
💚 Flawless Service
💚 Incredibly Friendly Staff
💚 Cosy Venue
Cute cafe with really interesting menu and friendly staff. I went for the zucchini fritters which came with corn purée, avocado mousse, poached eggs and an Asian style salad. I also added a side of bacon. A very tasty dish. Looking forward to coming back to try the rest of the unique menu.
We had visited Volume 2 for brunch and had ordered quite a few dishes! Below were my favorites!
White chocolate daddy waffles - vanilla and white chocolate waffles with passion fruit mascarpone, dulce de leche, lychee, kiwi, pistachio and popcorn granola! Not only was this a pretty dish but it was super yummy too! The softness of the waffles, the sweetness of the caramel sauce and the freshness of the fruits balanced each other out with a sweetness in the end! This was my most favorite for the day!
Fritter me this - corn and zucchini fritters, pickled vegetable salad, toasted seeds, corn veloute, poached eggs, avocado! The fritters were fried nicely and had a nice sweet taste and went well with the pickled vegetable salad which had a tangy taste to it!
The purp & the pork - pulled pork burger, beetroot bun, hot vinegar herb mayo, wombok slaw and pickles! The pulled pork was so juicy and not stringy which made it a good meal! The herb mayo and slaw added a yummy taste to the burger!
Overall we had a good time at Volume 2 and we would visit again for their yummy waffles!
There’s nothing better than a big bowl of greens for lunch - especially when it’s paired with poached eggs 😍👌😁
This place was amazing, lovely staff, beautiful rustic premises and of course delicious food! It was also a lovely chai which can always be hit and miss! A great local cafe in my work area!
Pictured is the Lean Mean Green Machine (sautéed greens bowl, seasonal greens bowl with toasted almonds, pepitas, chickpeas, avocado purée, goats cheese, fresh herbs, poached eggs) & Skim Dirty Chai Latte
Back to Melbourne after a few months and my first visit was to volume 2 cafe which I think opened when I was away!
The staff were super friendly, showed us to the table, gave us some water and took a drinks order!
I love the menu plenty of options from sweet, savoury and down right delicious.
I ordered the greens bowl with some paochies and mushrooms. It was delicious. One of the best green bowls I’ve had in Melbourne! It was great flavours, textures and a variety of green vegetables! The perfect health kick.
My friend ordered the pork bun. He literally finished it in 3 minutes so it must have been tasty.
A really nice brunch, just what I needed to kick start year 2 of the brunch adventure.
I am not normally one to write reviews - but I think the team at Volume 2 deserve a huge shout out! I’ve been here a couple of times now and on each occasion I am greeted with huge smiles and incredible hospitality... EVERYTHING I’ve eaten here so far has blown my socks off (spesh the waffles mmmmm), always consistent, always delish! Anyway, don’t hesitate to check them out - you won’t regret it !
I have now been to this place three times!!! And my oh my it does not disappoint!! COFFEE, food, space, vibe, massive servings sizes, everything about the place is simply perfect!! Particularly the staff who run the show!! I love this place and might officially call myself a regular #bestcafeinabbotsford
Most amazing food ever! Waffles are highly reccommended! The staff are friendly and fun! Must check it out!

Cannot rave about this cute little Richmond cafe enough! The staff are absolute legends and my oat milk cappuccino was next level (I even ordered a second!) the Bircher was so fresh and delicious matched with the fritters made for a perfect breakfast spread. Katie ordered the salmon which also looked incredibly fresh! Honestly the cutest little weekend brunch spot with plenty of seating and an array of menu options! Highly recommend! Can’t wait to visit again!

We had an amazing experience at Volume 2 in Abbotsford. First off - the décor is gorgeous. Beautiful art on the walls, lovely natural light through the windows. Loved the vibe!
I was impressed with the vegan options! We tried the Smoothie Bowl, Mean Green Machine, and the Avo Smash! Wow, all the dishes had a generous serving, and the flavours and textures were great!
The Smoothie Bowl included a generous serving of nuts and granola on top, as well as beautiful fresh fruit. The Avo Smash came with yummy olive bread and crispy kale. The Greens Dish was my fave! With avocado puree, fresh greens and nuts, it was so nourishing and tasty.
The coffees were great too! Would definitely go back to Volume 2!

A beautiful, new cafe in Abbotsford.
The interior is both modern but also heritage. I love how the owners have tied the old with the new. I enjoyed how there were multiple rooms to sit in, providing privacy when the cafe isn't full. Absolutely loved the leaves on top of the kitchen pass which had Volume 2 in a pink neon sign over it.
Iced Latte with Soy Milk: Such a lovely, refreshing coffee to begin the meal
Smashed avo: Such an amazing take on a classic dish. The eggs were poached perfectly, there was a generous serving of avocado. The crispy kale added a great crunch to the dish.
Sweet potato fries: All I can say is YUM!
Muffin: A daily special & this chocolate/Oreo muffin was incredible! So sweet, soft & amazing!
All other dishes were enjoyed by my friends!
Very friendly staff, who were super attentive to the table.
Went to brunch at this newly opened cafe on the weekend. We got the:
- White chocolate daddy waffles
- Little lamb benedict
- Fritter me this
- Smoothie bowl
- The purp & the pork
- Bowl of sweet potato fries
- Beetroot latte
- Chai latte
The highlight of the brunch would have to be that White chocolate daddy waffles. They should add more desserts on the menu and not have just the one sweet dish. Their house made cakes and baked goods are also good! The only draw back would be the coleslaws, there’s too much acidity and too sour and just overpowered everything we eat.
Nevertheless, service was good! Would come back to try more dish when there are more sweet stuff on the menu!
Really great brunch spot! The food was delicious, customer service fantastic, and a cozy atmosphere. Perfect for breakfast with the girls or work lunches 😊
Adorable little cafe! I had a chicken sandwich, which at $8.50 I thought was pretty affordable. Also got a raspberry white chocolate muffin.... 🤤🤤🤤 SO. GOOD. Definitely will be back!
On a Abbotsford corner street, is where you will find the stunning cafe, Volume 2. A heritage building converted into a wonderful venue, by using each room as its own dining room. This historic element of this house brings the diners into the rich history of the area itself. This was only propelled by the staff who immediately made you feel at home.
We were greeted with the biggest smiles, from staff who were so attentive in making sure our dining experience was amazing. The passion in this cafe was clear.
I decided to try the ’Smash Me, Avo’ dish which was smashed avocado on olive toast with poached egg, zucchini herb salad, crisp kale, basil salt, goats curd and toasted pepitas. This was a different but amazing twist on smashed avo. With the crispy kale cutting through the creaminess of the curd and avo and complementing the saltiness of the basil salt. I found this dish to be absolutely delicious and one I want to return to have again in the future.
The ‘Little Lamb Benedict’ was what one of my friends went for. Coming with a Lamb shoulder, poached eggs, hollandaise and pickled red cabbage. This dish looked and tasted stunning. It was smoky and creamy. The perfect winter warmer dish.
The other dish we had was the ‘Lean Mean Green Machine’. Not only was the name of this dish amazing but the ingredients were too. A sautéed greens bowl with seasonal greens and toasted almonds, peptise, chickpeas, avocado puree, goats cheese, fresh herbs and poached eggs that smashed it out of the park. Light yet filling. Fresh yet also creamy from the avo. I highly recommend this one to anyone looking for a delicious brunch time salad.
I would go back to Volume 2 in a heartbeat. The food was amazing, the vibe was unforgettable and to top it of the staff were some of the most lovely people I hav ever met. Definitely a big hit in my books.
Great Coffee!! Lovely staff and delicious food with lots of GF options. Good to have a solid option in abbotsford for brunch. We will be coming here on the regular!
A welcome new addition to Victoria Street. I discovered this place on Liven and enjoyed an extra hot soy flat white served by two lovely baristas. The service was quick and staff were incredibly friendly. The coffee was smooth and creamy but not overly milky. Keen to go back and try the food.
Loved visiting this cafe recently. We were so well attended to by the staff and I loved the various areas available to sit in.
I ordered the chorizo bean dish...it was so good! It was very filling and I just about finished it.
Had a lovely coffee with it also, my friend had a chai and said it was yummy as it was fresh and not powder as served in some other places.
Lots of yummy sweet treats available also including slices and muffins but I am sure that changes often.
A cafe where the food tastes just as good as it looks !
We ordered the waffles, salmon and also the Fritters
- the waffles were sooo crispy and I loved the salted caramel choc that came with it. Whilst I don’t really like pistachio , it went white well with the dish
- the salmon was cooked perfectly and the salad was super light and refreshing too
- fritters were super crunchy and not too oily 👌🏼
Also the coffee muffin was SO YUM!!! defs get one to try
I would defs recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area!
Volume 2 Cafe is a recent addition to Victoria Street, Abbotsford, an area more closely associated with Vietnamese restaurants.
Seating in this cool laid back cafe is spread across several rooms. We were seated near the front close to the kitchen. Visiting for weekend brunch we shared the Little Lamb Benedict, fritter me this and the Ooh Lah Lah bircher.
The fritter me this corn and zucchini fritters served with a pickled vegetable salad, corn veloute, poached eggs and avocado was the highlight for me. I enjoyed the different textures of the dish and the combination of flavours.
The little lamb Benedict is a great take on the traditional eggs benny. I was surprised how well the pickled red cabbage worked with the lamb and hollandaise, it helped balance out the flavours.
I loved all the fresh fruit that topped the Ooh Lah Lah bircher, particularly the rhubarb. This vegetarian and vegan friendly dish was equally pretty and filling.
Overall I had lovely experience at Volume 2 Cafe and recommend that you check them out if you’re in the area. I rate them 4.5 ⭐️ out of 5. Thanks very much for having me.

Amazing food, great coffee, cosy place, lovely staff and thoughtful interior. For mains, we had the lamb eggs benedict and silly salmon. Both dishes were so good. Love the idea of using lamb with eggs benny, really unique and delicious. For dessert, we had their banana bread with espresso mascapone and vanilla icecream, which is on special at the moment. Make sure to go and try this! I hope they make it a permanent thing!

New kid on the block! Just on the infamous Victoria street in Richmond is a new brunch cafe hidden among the asian restaurants. This cosy restaurant has a very homey feel.
We loved how they had an all day menu and our favourite was the silly salmon. A perfectly cooked confit salmon on a fresh bed of wild rich tabouleh.
For a sweet we also had their fluffy waffles! It was such a treat!
This humble new cafe on the block was a pleasant surprise when I walked in. I love the rustic interior, but still holding its Victorian structure inside.
We sat in one of the back rooms, the rooms are very humble and still well lit by their large Victorian windows.
We ordered the Smoooothie Bowl
Mango, banana and pineapple smoothie bowl, maple granola, citrus protein balls, fresh and freeze dried fruits. I absolutely loved this, it was very fresh but surprisingly not too sweet.
We also had the White Chocolate Daddy Waffles
Vanilla and white chocolate waffles with passionfruit mascarpone, dulce de leche, lychee, kiwi, pistachio, popcorn granola. What can I say wrong about these. I have a sweet tooth and these were not overly sweet balanced out with the fruit and the waffle.
Finally cos we are a bunch of fatties we had the Little Lamb Benedict Lamb shoulder, poached eggs, hollandaise, pickled red cabbage. Wow! This was sooo good, not a huge cabbage fan but this definitely hit the right spots.
The owners are passionate and really care about their customers making sure to walk around and see everyone was fine.
Recommend trying this place!
Just moved to Abbotsford recently and discovered this place on our first weekend here! Such a well established cafe (didn’t even realise they only opened a few months ago). Really friendly staff & seriously the best brunch food in Melbourne. Highly recommend the chorizo beans & lamb benedict 😍
Absolutely loved this cafe! The food was so delicious and the staff are lovely. Plenty of options for anyone who needs gluten and dairy free. Will definitely be heading back!
SO impressed. I love this new place, it's everything you want in a good cafe. The food is incredible & the place is warm and quiet. I has the 'lean green machine' with lamb - hearty & delicious!! The staff are super friendly, as well as accomadating with any changes needed. Can't wait to try their yummy looking toasties.
Love this bright and fresh cafe that replaced a cafe that had fallen out of favour. The coffee and the pulled pork burger were awesome. Friendly no fuss service. I will definitely be back!
New local cafe replacing an old favourite that had fallen out of favour with a poor management switchover.
Volume 2 looks like being a great addition to the neighbourhood. Simple but broad menu executed well with quality coffee. Had the pulled pork on beetroot bun which was flavoursome. Also do takeaway sandwiches, salads and pastries which have all hit the spot - again, pulled pork with spicy vinegar sandwich was [kisses fingers]
Great to see this cool spot starting to return to its former glory.
A golden find in Abbotsford, this cafe is a must to visit for it’s wonderful menu with unique flavours that make up delicious dishes !
Im not a fan of waffles but these were the best I’ve had with white chocolate buttons , popcorn , lychee , pistachio and crunchy granola 😋
Love this cafe. Food is amazing, coffee tastes great (with soy and almond options too) and staff is super friendly. Little hidden gem on Victoria street.
We stayed in Richmond for a few days and visited here a couple of times. Really friendly staff who gave us tips on places to go. The coffee was good and the brunch was awesome. Generous portions sizes and really fresh, tasty food. Would definitely recommend!
Really great service. All the staff were super friendly, the service prompt & exceptional brunch! Tasty & great presentation!
Loved the interiors, unpretentious & a really chill, friendly place. Will definitely going back, thank you! :)
Great breakfast choices. Staff incredible and gluten free choices were off the charts!
Really good coffee. I had bath brew and long black. On point!!! Good menu too
