I can't think of many better places to hang out on a sunny afternoon than a microbrewery, and Bodriggy in Abbotsford is one of the best in Melbourne. This huge open warehouse is full of light and I love it's aged patina and industrial bones. Comfortable seating makes it even easier to hang around here for hours.
This place gets packed and I've been here at times when it's really busy, but we came on a Thursday afternoon recently and it was a little quieter and had a more relaxed vibe. The staff here are cool and super friendly, and make you feel really welcome.
Now onto the important part. The beer is obviously King here, and there are some great choices. Hubby was very happy with his choices, and I enjoyed the wine that they had available. There is also a really good food menu with a South American slant, and we enjoyed an excellent burger and salad. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the meat was nicy seasoned.
As much as I love a good wine bar, in the interests of a healthy marriage it's good to find a balance; so I'm more than happy to hang out at breweries when they are as cool as Bodriggy Brewing Company.
Have been wanting to venture to this establishment for quite a while and we finally came for a visit with a group of mates.
We decided last minute to go for dinner at what must be the busiest time of the week (6.30pm on a Saturday eve) and sadly we were unable to book a table. So despite the health authorities recommending people avoid large gatherings because of the dreaded COVID-19 it seems we were among those who thought we would have one last hurrah before we were forced into self isolation.
When we arrived the place was buzzing with patrons and had a cool vibe without the pretentiousness and great tunes coming from the next level sound system they’ve installed in this giant warehouse space adorned with vintage looking decor.
With no booking and a crammed venue we hung around like awkward seagulls looking for a (chip) table. After 10 minutes and much anticipation from the gulls we finally got a tiny little table by the front door. Believe me we made it work between 6 of us.
The service was friendly and the drinks a little to easy to go down. The food is ordered at the bar which was almost always busy. Dishes came out promptly and I have to say each dish we tried was pretty sensational for tex mex fare.. muy rico!! I can’t wait to come back to try a selection of drinks and more delish food. Highly recommend the pork taco, stuffed jalapeños taco, ceviche and the churro ice cream sando!
What's not to love. Food with a South American twist, good beer and a great vibe.
The patacon is my go to Every time and the sun bather beer.

Having booked a table at Bodriggy in December for my birthday (no easy feat during the festive season), I was interested to see what the place would be like. It was a warm day and the air flowed through the warehouse quite nicely - we had two tables booked and decided to just use one, a kind waitress offered to move people on who had sat at the reserved table. Food was great, lot of flavour and a great selection of beers too. Also tried the Bodo & Tonic (four pillars gin, peach aperitif with house hibiscus and eucalypt tonic) which was a delight and very refreshing. We felt very welcome and we’ll definitely be back!
Came for a birthday dinner and the place was packed and busy since around 4pm until late. The Latin food here surprisingly is very good for a bar. The meat are juicy and soft. The sandwich was seasoned well and tasted robust. Highly recommend booking ahead of time if you planning to come in a big group as tables are hard to come by.
Abbotsford’s Bodriggy Brewing Company have been brewing for several years, but their highly anticipated and long overdue taproom only arrived recently.

There are definitely good vibes to be had here. My friend and I snaffled one of the tables along the wall, which come with a comfy couch and an excellent panoramic view of the venue. Dogs are welcome INSIDE here, which basically made my life. Top marks already. There's a small wine selection, but the light shiraz totally hit all the right spots. And the fact it's organic means your post-drinking situation the next day will be far less worse than you conceived. We didn't eat here, but probably should have. Definitely next time.
Probably my new favourite brewpub in Melbourne. Great location, great space, great selection of drinks and food, which is often just an afterthought at other breweries. The Latin menu is not just of a high calibre but also very vegan friendly. The cocktail selection is great but of course the beers are the big pull. I especially love the smokey and sour dark ale. The venue is large and would be great for groups - especially once summer comes or during the day when sun is streaming through the skylights.
Great atmosphere, food was amazing - who doesn’t like tacos? Service was friendly and loved the drinks.
My partner and I had the feed me menu - his was vegan, mine was not. We were not disappointed and got to sample a great section of the menu. My sister in law had the steak - was cooked beautifully.
Also friend the mulled cider with a shot of rum. YUM! A great spot to meet friends or family
Came here as the starting point for the Beer Run in 2021 and absolutely loved the ambience of the place so I thought I'd come here again but this time actually sit down for a feed and not just a beverage.
The beer was awesome, the food even better!
Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing yet unique dining experience!
This brewpub is pouring some of the meanest beers in town whilst serving some delicious Mexican food. The ambience here is also insane on any day of the week, I came here on a Sunday evening and it felt like a Friday night. So definitely worth a visit for anyone who loves a good beer. They also have plenty of other drinks available but obviously the beers are the star of the show here.
Melbourne's best ceviche. Have had it several times and have twice tried the vegan version. Just excellent.
The cauliflower steak and the BBQ chicken are also very good but the ceviche I've actually had dreams about it is so good
Walked past and decided to head in for an afternoon bevvie as this place looked like a vibe! Glad to say it's very chill with a decent selection of Mexican food and great drinks on offer. Nice outside area which is pet friendly too.
Would recommend to check this place out.

Bodriggy has such a vibrant and hipster vibe when you enter. They have some cool funky beats playing, good customer service and a nice section of beers available. They also do some nice cocktails and delicious Mexican food. Everything on the menu taste good! More importantly it's dog friendly inside too.
This is a nice spot to have a beer. It has some pretty stiff competition from other breweries in the neighbourhood but it definitely is worth a visit. The comfortable whiskey lounge style seating is definitely quite a bonus.
Stumbled across this spot by accident after Urban Climb and was greeted warmly by Maggie behind the bar. She recommended a flight of her favourite five beers which I indulged. Love the tall ceilings, the open kitchen and awesome service. Highly recommended for beer lovers!
