Excellent customer service. 2nd time I've been here and Tony is a very congenial host. I totally recommend Carmel's. I cannot fault them.
The food you would eat at Nonna's if you were lucky! For the rest of us, this is the place for beautifully made homestyle pastas, legendary meatballs, insalata and all the extras. The wild mushroom risotto will haunt me! Antipasto platter was gorgeous too. Took a big group and we all loved it. Lovely local Italian with great friendly service. Would be my second home if I lived nearby.
This is a fantastic cafe! Always has the best food and service! Carmel herself is always there with amazing smile and all the staff. Best meatball I have had in Sydney!
Now on to the adults food, the breakfast menu is available all day which will no doubt impress weekend diners. I think Mr Munch needs to start his own review site on Sydney's best bacon & egg rolls (perhaps he can call it Little Oink) as he yet again ordered one. According to him Carmel's version for $9.50 is up there with the best in the city as it was full of smoked bacon and it had the tasty addition of provolone cheese. The roll too was delicious - an Italian panino from the ovens of another Little Munch favourite - Mercato e Cucina in Gladesville.
Food is great, they don't skimp on portions, when you add avocado you get a whole half an avocado. Staff have always been friendly. One our favourites for a weekend brekkie.
The food and service here is amazing. Don't understand all the negative reviews. I have been several times and have not once been disappointed.
Great new cafe in the inner west. Love this cafe in the inner west, in fact I want to move my office here! Finally a great place to have a meeting over coffee and lunch. Food is delicious and coffee is really good with friendly service. I tried the Polpette Panino (meatballs with provolone cheese in an Italian bread roll) which didn't disappoint, they are famous for their meatballs and I can see why. My friend had the Three Cheese omelette which was really good. Next time I am coming back for the burgers as they looked sensational, I had burger envy. Can't wait to work my way through the menu. Well done guys!
The Happy Cafe :). It's always madness when a new joint opens, so I normally wait to they settle in and get their sh*t together before I bombard them. By the second week, they did have their sh*t together, and it was worth the wait. Apart from the almost perfect coffee, the meatballs are a hit. They melt in your mouth and the flavour of the sauce just dances in your mouth. Now the burgers... not like your ordinary beef-patty (not like the other reviewers mentioned it, and I don't think they have been there), this beef has that special zinger of herb and spice flavours thrown into it. You can call it the special Mediterranean exotic flavour. And if you don't like your meat, the salads, (like my wife had), are worthy of a five star restaurant. My next attempt will be to try it out for breakfast...
