A beautiful destination with peaceful scenery. Amazing atmosphere with great service team. The food is delicious, amd the portions are generous. I enjoyed my lunch and spent around 3 hours socialising with the people I was with. Very inviting place.

I can never get enough of this place! Great location with beautiful views, overlooking Parramatta River. Delicious and generous serving of food, friendly staff, open plan seating, nice bar and ample parking space. Loved every minute spent here. Will definitely go again. 💫

The portion sizes here are generally quite generous for the main meals. Some of the entrees are a little overpriced for what you get. The arancini were tasty, but for 6 which were smaller than golf balls for $15 I thought was a little steep, especially as they seem to be mass produced frozen ones. The buttermilk fried chicken plate on the other hand was delicious and serving was huge. Would definitely recommend the plate over the burger for portion size/value. Burger was a bit under whelming in comparison. The gnocchi smelt amazing and the lobster & prawn roll according to a friend is delicious

Great place ,hopped off the ferry and we enjoyed an amazing seafood platter and drinks And the view and staff were amazing

beautiful views , nice food.. friendly staff.

The views were nice but it's not worth having a meal here just for the views. Food was reasonably portioned but expensive and tasted average. There is no table service here (apart from when the food is delivered to your table) and it took a while for the food to come out. The attendant at the entrance didn't even bother showing us where our table was (we just got a 'turn right and go straight'). Also, if you're planning to use a gift card here, just a word of warning - it's very unusual but they charge a payment surcharge on gift card payments!

Perfect stunning view. The food has so much potential and is expensive enough that you would expect quality but it's probably only 3*'s food wise. The bar is very louder than you'd hope for a sunset dinner. Generally a good experience.

Don't order the lamb shoulder. Twice in the last 2 months, the lamb piece is small. Have complained, but nothing changes. Also tonight I had the Berry cake, the sponge was dry. What is going on the the quality of food? Disappointed.

Beautiful view, however the food really lets this place down. Very disappointed! We ordered the seafood platter, which at $40 was barely enough for one person! The seafood was not fresh! Service was non existent! We will not be back!

My family and I had lunch yesterday, my husbands steak was very well done after asking for medium.Steak, chips and salad ( what there was of it ) for $36 hmmmm, very expensive for what you got. My barramundi was fresh and cooked perfect but the piece was so small. My salad consisted of just leaves and one thin slice of cucumber, and a bit of dressing...there were mostly chips on my plate...no way was this worth $31. The head chef or whoever is in charge of the menus needs to know what is going out to the tables and there’s no need to skimp! A salad should at least have fresh tomatoes or some grated carrot, a little red onion to make it colourful and appetising. For the prices that are being charged it should be going back into your supplies...Australia has the best fresh produce there is...and you have the best location...change things up and make it good!

Went there today for lunch. We had booked for outside and asked if we could move inside, there was no hesitation in getting a table ready for us. The food was nice,It came out fairly quickly being such a busy day and the place was full. I had the squid, found it abit oily but it still tasted good. The views are amazing, definitely worth coming and checking it out. If your celebrating a birthday The only let down is your not allowed to bring a cake. Will be back again but not for a birthday lunch!

Sydney Rowers Club - I'm a local and a regular customer but I would be A LOT more regular if you could just do something about a few things. We love the recent renovations to open up the dining area for bistro orders and today myself and 5 mother's group friends came for our second visit. Our gripes are: 1) grumpy older lady on service, we believe she is a long term staff member but seriously she needs to work on her customer service. If front of house is not her forte, perhaps she should not be serving the food as we don't appreciate being grunted at. 2) the food - quality, price and variety. I ordered the vermicelli salad and it was tasteless and my friends was the same. We both went home hungry too. For the price you charge, you really need to work on what you're serving! 3) that brings me on to price - all your items are on the high end and you really give members no incentive to come more often when discounts are only offered at dinner. How about offering it for weekday lunches? What happened to the daily specials? if you could sort these few things out, my friends and I would undoubtedly come a lot more because you have the best location in the area. And word of mouth is the best advertisement. Would be great if you can take on board our feedback.

Without the view this place would have no one there. This is an awful place to take your friends for a birthday. The staff are all so rude. We got told to move from a area outside because it was reserved so we moved the whole party inside only to see a couple of hours later there was no one using the outside area for a party and only 4 people were out there. Then we when we got up to leave the table from inside two lovely ladies asked if they could have a table and we said sure. Then an old lady from the kitchen ran over and started to tell off the ladies saying the table was taken. This staff member was so awful I felt so bad for the poor ladies as the staff made such a scene they clearly don’t care about there customers at all.

I like the Sydney Rowing Club I arrived early to meet with friends yesterday and thought I would have a coffee. Didn't happen. Waited and waited until an Asian lady said she "had to ask someone" I walked away and waited for my friends sans coffee. meal was excellent. When we ordered an older woman was taking orders rather gruff and irreverent . We let it pass. The ambience and food and enjoyment we have amongst ourselves over whelms the occasional angst of any staff member. I must say the young lass on reception at about 11am was a pure delight !!!!

I like the rowing club the view is amazing but I am disappointed with the food I ordered the fish. Very small size and Luke warm chips were cold And the salad looked Dead and I payed $32 for it . But i can say the Service and atmosphere Was good.

This is a place you will keep going back to. For a bistro it has the most amazing views, lovely venue and fresh food. I had the trout salad and loved it.

Food and view first class - however when we rang to book was told no reservations - just arrive- but when we got there - we noticed 'reserved' tables - . Was very lucky to get a table - place was buzzing. Had the grilled burramundi - absolutely perfect and delicious - and the special 'cocktail' of the day - also delicious.
Sir And Mlady Dine Out
Watergrill by Dedes is located within Sydney Rowing Club. It’s a lovely venue with spectacular water views. You can catch the ferry here (Abbotsford) or from here, which is quite handy. Mlady caught the ferry from Barangaroo and then back again. It’s a lovely way to get around Sydney and experience those lovely harbour views up close. You can even see the dock from Watergrill.

Water grill is now a good $6 to $8 above value. <br/>Burgers for 24-26, Pizzas above $25, meat hits $30 at least and seafood starts at a whopping $29 fish and chips. <br/>If it delivered highest quality, we would be looking at good value. Pricing generally good fare at these prices, with decidedly average Pizza (average dough and and not so Pizza lamb Pizza), average chips and over-battered and sometimes over cooked fish and chips (no real brown malt vinegar in sight), we are simply looking at “pay per view dining”. The fish platter is good but overpriced at $135 as well. <br/>A return to reality and improved basics at decent prices is in order. I nearly do not want to order food here anymore simply because value and money are very far apart by now. <br/>Great place but needs to come back down.

I came to Watergrill on a Sunday night to celebrate my grandmothers birthday.<br/><br/>Food: I ordered the slow cooked pork pappardelle and my fiancĂŠe ordered the king prawn salad. My meal was very yummy - pork was flavoursome and tender and the pasta was al dente, just how I like it. The sauce was balanced and sweet and the olives added a good pop of saltiness. Unfortunately my fiancĂŠes salad was very disappointing. Only 5 prawns in the whole salad which was too few for the $26 price tag. 85% of the bowl was undressed greens without sufficient dressing to coat them. Pomegranate seeds provided some relief but they were nowhere near as sweet as I would have expected.<br/><br/>Service: very quick turnaround of the meals after we ordered despite being packed. We were also allowed to bring in our own cake for my grandmother without being charged extra for cakeage which was a bonus.<br/><br/>Value: overpriced for what it was. My pasta was $26 and so was the salad. The salad needed more prawns and not just greens. I personally believe that only the best handmade pasta in a fine dining setting should be over $25.<br/><br/>Overall Watergrill is a really nice setting with a beautiful view. However, I feel the price tag of the food does not match the quality. <br/>

Pretty location and nice ambience, but we had mixed experiences with the food:<br/>Arancini and bread rolls to start were quite nice, but the steak came very well done instead of medium rare (the replacement after we sent it back was *ok*, but not great), and the tahini yoghurt paired with the salmon was a very questionable pairing — if you come here, maybe just grab a nice window seat and stick to the drinks.

The location is superb. Beautiful views of the water and incredible sunsets. Unfortunately it is the overpriced tastless food that lets the venue down. I am a local and a member and have been a few times hoping the food has improved but disappointed each time. Skip the food and go for drinks and the ambience. SRC if you are reading this PLEASE improve the food quality at the Watergrill.

An extremely busy place but gorgeous panoramic views of the water. Easily accessible via rivercat or drive with plenty of parking. Food is great, with healthy gf options also. My favourite is the Rosè flight (vino) a must buy & Frosè if your a wine lover. For $15 you cant beat it! I highly recommend ordering the Barramundi. Delicious! Best to seat outside and enjoy the view. Come early or get no seats!

I loved this place. Beautiful views, a nice little band playing and great food. I want to come back here again so I can watch an amazing sunset while eating and having a couple of drinks 🍸

Very expensive for pub food! I guess you are paying for the ambience and beautiful location - best to come during daylight hours so you can admire the view. We ordered the seafood platter to share which was nice but very expensive, and some of the seafood was overcooked like the lobster. The food was nice and what I expected really, it is just quite expensive for what it is I think

Pretty views with alright food and yummy cocktails!!<br/><br/>Food is pretty standard pub food but a little bit fancier! <br/><br/>Great for family dinner catch ups with a chill vibe 😘

I had a wonderful meal for lunch on Sunday the 11th, it was the atlantic salmon.<br/><br/>I don't actually like the idea of food being mounded on top of other food and thats wot they did with the atlantic salmon, I rather the salmon was on the plate just by its self and all the other food around it like they do at Bankstown sports club.

Not great. Not good value for money.<br/>Undercooked sauce on kids penne. Needed at least another 30min on the stove to cook out the tomato rawness. Seafood plate didn't have enough on it for the price. 2 ppl on my table ordered this. The coconut type prawns on the platter tasted off and were inedible. <br/>Worst dish would have been the pork. Over marinated to the point it was smack in your face. Crap over cooked veggies on the bottom, just not nice at all. Couldn't tell if it was pork or alligator I was eating, couldn't taste it at all cause of marinade.<br/>Prawn salad had half an avocado that was rock solid. They forgot dressing so had to go back with it. <br/>I will acknowledge that the prawns in the salad were fresh and enjoyable. <br/>The place was extremely busy because of location but there are cowboys in the kitchen who just pump out the food with no love. <br/>Lots of other good clubs in the area to try.

Overpriced, long waits, and best of all, FOOD POISONING<br/><br/>My family went to the Rowing Club for a drink and meal last week. My partner and I ordered a chicken burger from Watergrill to share. I did not expect a burger to:<br/><br/>a) Cost $24<br/>b) Take over 40 minutes to make<br/>c) Be so plain and unappetising <br/>d) Have a burnt bun<br/>e) Give us both food poisoning!<br/> <br/>By the time I got to point d above, I took the burger back for a refund as it was inedible. The lady at the counter was very rude and did not say a single word when I spoke to her, although gave me a refund. I was happy to put the dinner behind me, but<br/> by the time we got home neither of us felt good at all. <br/><br/>I wrote to the restaurant after we recovered from the food poisoning and they never replied.<br/><br/>Just stick to the bar...
Eatwithmyfoodsafari
The outside deck offers a gorgeous water views, and this would be an amazing spot for breakfast but alas, the bistro only opens for lunch so were limited to coffee and cake for Sunday brunch. Order at the counter and navigate your way to a table, taking care not to let your latte glass topple on the way!

Location is fantastic, craft beer selection is good, wine list is the standard big company entry level with some expensive perks and food was ok.<br/>I felt like I was paying for the restaurants rent because of it location... Thats about it. Expensive and ok.

The full rack of ribs are delicious and pretty much falls off the bone. You won't find any better value on the menu or any other restaurant in Sydney.

Exactly what Meagan said. It's a RSL with nice views but food that tastes like any other RSL. Nothing special with the Mezze plate. My mixed seafood for one was nice but it had no lemon for my oysters. Prices are a little more than expected, nil issues with service but the main reason to come here is the views. Worth a once off look

Awful awful food time and time again!. We are locals and would dearly love this place to not continually disappoint. Location and front desk service is so good yet the food is inedible. This is about our 15th go since we moved nearby and once again it was completely foul. I ordered fish fajitas thinking the fish might be a safe option because they occasionally have fresh seafood. It was those frozen fish finger things you're mum use to make you as a kid when she couldn't be bothered cooking. Wrapped up with defrosted pack of frozen stir fry vegetables. I thought it couldn't get worse than their fish and chips but it was the most disgusting meal I've ever had out anywhere.

The mezze plate was surprisingly good. The squeaky cheese had been fried to a golden brown and the chorizo was piping hot.

Great views but disappointing food. With such a gorgeous location and nice interior one would think they would have food of same quality nut we were utterly disappointed. Recommend they take note from other nice clubs in sydney and change chefs and widen menu choices

Terrible Meal at Watergrill Restaurant. We travelled an hour and a half from the Sutherland Shire to have a Seafood Platter for my 64th Birthday. At $85 we thought it was very overpriced for what was presented on the plate. As a matter of fact, I remarked to my husband is this for one or two people ,it was for two people. I was gob smacked because there was so little on the plate. If the bowl of chips was taken away, there was nothing much of value on the plate, except the half a dozen Rock Oysters which were selling for $17.50, What was left on the plate didn't account for the balance of $68. We should have asked for our money back and would never recommend Watergrill to anyone. The only thing we got out of the experience was the view, not the meal.

Dreadful meals now being served in Watergrill at SRC. Member for years. Meals are deteriorating at a rapid rate. Having travelled extensively in the northern and Southern Hemisphere over many years must say that tonight's meal would be the least appealing meal I have ever been served, even in a third world country. The 'salad' consisted of a mixture of tired white cabbage, red cabbage and grated carrot - not a trace of green in sight! Just sorry I didn't have mobile or camera to show what a sorry sight the presentation was.<br/>No thanks, will not be back - ever

Do not go here if you're looking for a fancy joint; I'd suggest Dedes next door. This is an RSL club essentially. Food was nice and the view was great but nothing special to make me go back

With a lovely setting on the river, we enjoyed sitting on the expansive deck and having a hearty pub meal. Very family-friendly and hosting two weddings in private areas, it's a busy place but the kitchen still turns orders around very quickly. Before too long, my buzzer went off and I collected my calamari and chips. Unfortunately the calamari wasn't great but the chips were ok. I tried some of the sweet potato chips also but they had absolutely no flavour. Still, we had a good night. Would I eat here again? I wouldn't choose too.

Too expensive not worth the 1hour+ wait. Got a lovely table outside yesterday on a very sunny and busy Sunday. Waited over an hour for mains was not informed on extreme wait. Not too much of a problem as lovely place to sit and enjoy the sun. Ordered the thai beef salad and was disgusted with the lack of 'crispy vegtables' use of hamburger mince rather than usual rump steak beef. sole was ok but not at all filling tiny handful of chips, lousy side sald. Rip off!! The seafood platter was incredibly overpriced for $85. Our table of seven left hungry and very disappointed which is a shame as staff and venue lovely. Won't be returning to eat.

Simon Food Favourites review. Enjoyed the Hot & Cold Seafood Platter for one of Sydney rock oysters (x3), king prawns (x2), smoked salmon, crispy soft shell crab, 1/2 shell scallops (x2 pieces), tempura prawns (x2), fish cocktails (was piece of fish), marinated baby calamari & fries ($40). I thought a few more fries and a nicer salad with dressing would have been good rather than salad leaves used as garnish. I wasn't a huge fan of the plain smoked salmon and would have preferred more king prawns instead. View and seating was comfortable. The ordering counter needed to be signposted more clearly though as customers got confused with the pick up area for coffees. Good to see the disabled toilet had a baby table which was required at the time. Fair amount of free parking outside but fills up.

Nice venue, great view Shared a steak and a seafood platter. Found the seafood platter very poor value, and the steak (although tender) flavourless ad overpowered by the pepper sauce. Not recommended.
