Coffee is good and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Often see 4th-6th graders from the local school popping in for hot chocolate on their way to school and the staff greet and chat with them. Very pleasant atmosphere.

The most welcoming, laid back, chill, kind staff in Aberfeldie. I have been going here regularly for the past three years and they never disappoint me. Good range of food during the day and during the night. What more could you ask for?

Friendly service (they know our taste and orders by heart), great coffee (strong without extra charge, smooth and fair trade), great spot at night time for desperate parents like us who need a drink or 10 to relieve the daily stress; a hidden spot in Aberfeldie; feels like going back home to Brazil, where the bar owners have a good chat between serving good food and drinks. Highly recommended! Ps: Arancini balls and Espresso Martini are a must try!

Many years ago my family was hit by hard times, and I was forced to sell our family cow. On the way to the market I was intercepted by a gypsy, who offered me three magic beans for my cow.The gypsy told me the beans would lift me and my family out of our rough patch, and into good times. But tragedy struck!! On the way home I dropped and lost the beans on fawkner street. I was devastated. My family had nothing, my children were hungry. Eventually though the gypsy's prediction did come true - from the beans sprang Calmer. Many good times have been had at this trough of glorious brews. The mullet hairs on the back of my neck stand up whenever I think about it - even now my goosebumps' goosebumps have goosebumps. Good people good vibes good music 10/10.

payed extra for almond milk in my chai latte, waited 10 mins to be told they don’t do chai. I asked for a coffee instead which they tried to charge me again for. I asked for almond milk in it again. Upon being handed my coffee I asked if there was almond milk to make sure they were not completely incompetent when they told me I never asked for it even though I payed extra.

Call anyone of dark skin color the n word and drive them away.. Wouldn't recommend incredibly rude waitresses and staff and hateful beyond anything i have never been so insulted in my life wow!

Awesome little spot run by a bunch of amazing people who really go out of their way to assist and ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience. Coffee is amazing and their snacks are out of this world... try their chips, I dare you.

Now that it has achieved a degree of fame by being synonymous with the fictional VCE exam cafe in today's English exam...I hope they get super busy! Good luck, calmer cafe...you deserve your hard won points and I hope that you get lots of custom from this incident!

Chilled venue with an awesome vibe. Great for a catch up with friends worth the area staff always accomodating and friendly. They provide a list of menus from nearby venues to order food.

Really great place to go for coffee/breakfast or a few wines on the weekend! The coffee is great and staff are so lovely and always make you feel at home.

This is an oasis in the area. Staff are super friendly and accommodating. Good vibes and cosy atmosphere make this a gem in the area. Choose between Chinese, Thai and a number of other local restaurants who will deliver to you. Just ask a staff member for a plate and cutlery and feast away. Or order a pizza from Raffaels which is 10 meters away. This is a fantastic concept and i can't wait to get back and get pickled, keeping tidy of course. Tara the manageress is friendly and knows how to treat customers. I hope they start opening on Sundays with the nicer weather coming. Thumbs up all round.

Good local bar that is underrated in my opinion. After their facelift they've really changed lanes and I'm liking it! Great coffee and breaky during the day and a nice relaxing bar after dark.

Calmer Nights is certainly a welcome (and long overdue) addition to the Fawkner St dining precinct and well worth a look. CNWB is also kid friendly with an outdoor area and comes highly recommended. Currently cash only but I'm assured that cards will be accepted in the foreseeable future.

----16-7-15----

Calmer nights is well 'n' truly maturing as a wine bar which was always going to happen. They now have a broad range of exceptional wines on offer. All that remains is for them to install a 'pay wave' facility to move them into the 21st century, which I'm led to believe is on the way.

Well this is clearly the greatest cafe EVER
Kate Bailey
Always a friendly vibe. Always great coffee. Wish they would extend their trashing hours!

This place is very relaxing. Great coffee and egg and bacon rolls. Jelly slices are nice too. Also some great foccacias. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Also newspapers to read and music channel usually is on the TV.

Firstly.. As we entered the cafe we weren't greeted. Great start to my morning.
We asked to sit and look at menus, but the lady rudely pointed at the board saying "that is the menu" and proceeded to ignore us.

The scenery was not very welcoming.. So we left.

Hopefully the food was good?
Kate Procter
