Pepper Bite may as well be the best Indian restaurant in Brisbane! The food is incredibly delicious, the quantities are very generous and the pricing is perfect! The staff are one of the main highlights here too! They are so friendly, attentive and accommodating! We threw a party in their venue room a few months ago and were very impressed. Highly recommend Pepper Bite for excellent food and exquisite service!
Great food. Fast & polite service. Great price. the Chicken Korma was creamy and had excellent flavour. Would recommend for dine-in, lovely eating area.
My Mum and I are invited guests of Kan Do and his delightful wife for lunch last weekend at Pepper Bite. I consider Kan Do an Indian food guru and during our previous meal together, he recommended we try Pepper Bite's Kerala dishes.
We are perusing through the mostly Northern Indian menu and Kan Do points out some familiar Kerala dishes to me. As a regular diner here, I suggest he decide on our lunch order.
Our three entrees soon appear in the form of a soft Kerala Dosa, a crispy Ghee Roast Dosa and a plate of donut shaped Vada. The dipping sauces are a vegetarian curry sambar and coconut chutney. They look delicious and are served piping hot. Kan Do suggests we eat with our fingers, just like Indian folks do. When in Rome....
My Mum's favourite is the soft Kerala Dosa dipped in sambar. I like the crispy Dosa with its lentil filling and I find the soft chewy Vada texture quite interesting.

Our shared mains arrive with accompanying Garlic Naan and Kerala Parathas (similar to roti canai). The Beef Roast is served with a spicy gravy and eaten with the Naan or Parathas. My favourite dish.

The stir fried Kerala Beef is infused with spices and dry fried with curry leaves. The beef is tasty but a little dry when eaten with the breads.

The Kerala Red Fish Curry had a delicious gravy. Unfortunately, the mackerel in this curry dish was stale. As a fisherman I only cook with very fresh fish.

The Garlic Naan and Kerala Parathas were freshly prepared and were outstanding. I had a small serving of the Mash Cassava (Tapioca) but I much preferred the breads with the main dishes.
Service at Pepper Bite is quick and always delivered with a smile. The restaurant is clean and has two dining rooms, one for the dining public and the other as a function room. Thank you Mr & Mrs Kan Do and the staff at Pepper Bite!
Excellent food. Its better to pre-order before you go there for lunch or dinner to save the waiting time after the order. Waiting time is more than 30minutes when we were there.
I've been to Pepper Bite a few times. It's not fancy and is tucked away in an innocuous location just off Beaudesert Rd.
I would recommend going to this place if you want South Indian food, specifically Kerala cuisine. They may do other Indian dishes well, but Kerala food will be where they will excel.
I would make that recommendation for all Indian restaurants. It's a good idea to find out what region the cook/owner is from and ask them to make dishes from that region if they can. Indian food is diverse and regional specialties can be done really well.
For lunch today, I ordered the beef roast (the wet version of beef fry), Kerala parathas and a couple of chappathis. The beef roast was delicious.
The Kerala paratha (similar to lache paratha in North India and roti canai in Malaysia), was tasty but oilier and more like puff pastry than the versions you would get in India (in fact it was more like roti canai).
The chappathis, not being a Kerala dish, were okay. They were a bit dense and chewier than they should have been, but still tasted okay. Overall a satisfying meal for a hungry pilgrim.
On previous occasions, I have tried their beef fry (which is excellent), their goat curry (which is okay), their Kerala fish curry (very good) and kappa (savoury mashed cassava).
Sensibly, considering that Indian food is best eaten without cutlery, they have a hand washing area out the side.

Very good cuisine for north Indian food. We have been there several times. All the curries are excellent be it chicken curries or paneer dishes. Fish curries, especially fish Madras is just splendid Service is amazing as well. What I did not like was their dosa, it wasn’t tasty. But I certainly love their curries & always end up either dining there or ordering takeaways

The chef changes, Monday chef isn’t good.
We usually go during weekends only but went twice on Mondays, the food wasn’t good. Then we were told the regular chef doesn’t work on Mondays.
We happened to be there on one of the Thursday nights & the food was just super duper sumptuous. We ordered chicken lemon haradhaniya, karahi chicken, paneer makhani , palak paneer & spinach naan. All the dishes were finger licking!!
Loved them!! On the basis of this changed my rating from 4.5 to 5
Will highly recommend this restaurant.
Awesome, simply wonderfully authentic South Indian food. Very clean restaurant with great service , I cant believe there aren't more reviews, this will be a family favourite.
Very yummy we drive from the Gold Coast to come here. Best South Indian restaurant around. It is worth the drive alway very nice fresh food and so so tasty. Do your self a favour and try this place :)
Excellent first experience eating here. The venue was exceptionally clean and the staff very well presented.
The food was hot and freshly prepared. Unlike many of the Indian restaurants I have visited of late, the meat was succulent and the curries complex and beautifully presented.
The chicken 65 was a little dry and the batter not as crispy as I have experienced elsewhere, but the flavour made up for this slip.
The Manchurian Cauliflower was a real surprise, perfectly spiced with a slight spicy hit was the perfect entree.
The Land Saag was a real delight. My partner felt it was a little too spicy for a Medium, but I felt it server the dish perfectly.
The rice was perfectly light and fluffy without a clump in sight, it was the ultimate way to accompany the Saag.
I am not a huge "fancy" naan breads (plain naan FTW!), but the Spinach and Cheese option really hit the spot.
Overall the experience was very pleasant and we look forward to eating here again in the near future.
The curries are excellent. Great range, fresh, full of flavour, not too oily, generous portions and reasonable prices. That is what keeps us coming back almost weekly despite other issues.
First - dishes are a bit light on meat, especially the goat options which have mostly bones. If you don't eat meat, excellent, as the vegetarian curries we've tried have all been really good.
Second - delivery takes forever. We're a 10 minute drive from the restaurant and our quickest wait has been 90 minutes. They are constantly more than 30 minutes later than the upper range of the delivery estimate.
Third - spiciness levels are all over the place. I've ordered medium one week, mild the next week (same curry) and the mild was hotter. My wife likes a particular curry that she has been ordering as medium for 10+ years and the mild is too hot for her here. If you need a predictable or low level of spice, there are plenty of options but choose your dish carefully.
