I love breakfast at the Delicatessen and that is when I usually eat there. My go to dish is breakfast cassoulet (French style beans) with baked eggs. It has whole (delicious) sausages in it! There are huge chunks of meat in between the beany goodness. The sauce is rich. It comes with excellent toast that has been generously buttered. A great start to the day.
However, a rare trip at lunchtime provided me with the opportunity to revisit their lunch menu, in particular their sandwiches. I know the Rueben is good so I went for the Croque Madame which is a fancy ham and cheese toastie with an egg on it. This was an excellent lunch as the toastie came with asparagus spears and a nice salad. Great atmosphere and professional staff.
We arrived there 15 minutes to 9am and probably became their first table having breakfast. Coffee was fairly good but not amazing. There were couples of people grabbing coffee with their colleague. I ordered Croque madame it was very tasty but bacon inside was a bit salty. Top egg was cooked just as it meant to be.Portuguese tart was crispy but slightly sweeter than my taste. Service was warm and i really like the music they played. Nice place for breakfast. My fellow said she will definitely back again~Sorry no photos cuz we already had a bite on food before taking pictures.

Everything we ordered was great, service was quick and the waitresses smiles were quicker. I had the steak medium rare with some fancy named butter which was amazing and the entrees we shared were also great... did i mention this place was great?
One of my favourite dining experiences in Adelaide! Having visited on multiple occasions, each visit continues to live up to its expectations. The service is attentive and consistent. The chef certainly knows flavour, with every dish delicately balanced and seasoned to perfection. Thank you Delicatessen for always delivering the goods!
Excellent food, generous serves and good service. I came here to celebrate my partners birthday and they happened to have a great deal going, $45 for three courses which was quite exciting seeing as some of the mains were nearly as expensive on their own (there are cheaper options however). From what I can see they have deals and special set meals quite often, which keeps things interesting. The place was very quiet on a Saturday night, there were only 2 tables other than us. However, this probably had something to do with the hot weather and the fact that it wasn’t a whole lot cooler inside. The food itself was delicious, we ordered the pork scratchings and baked Camembert for entree, probably a mistake ordering two rich dishes but no regrets there. For mains, we had the steak (cooked nicely) and the mussels (very creamy and filling). Then we finished off with desserts which really weren’t needed but still appreciated (chocolate mousse and coconut sorbet). Wine range was decent. The waitress was also happy to recommend cocktails for us based on our tastes. Overall an excellent meal, especially if you are in the mood for some creamy, rich food. I would love to return in future to try out their lunch and breakfast options.
I went there for my 60th last October for breakfast with my Husband and Bianca the atmosphere was lovely and the food was delicious, will definitely go back
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and one of the best bacon and egg rolls I've ever had. I found it to be a tad pricey, but it was definitely worth it.
This place is a new favourite. French onion soup was perfection and the club sandwich just as good. Servings are great and prices to match.
great atmosphere, and food's even better. We dropped in for a quick bite recently, and although we didn't have a booking they were happy to rearrange a few things to accommodate. Will be back!
We came for breakfast as part of our 2nd year wedding anniversary. It had a quiet but vibrant feel, nice menu options. We enjoyed the Cassoulet and Croque Monsieur, both very tasty although the tomato sauce in the Cassoulet was pretty flat. The sausage was delicious. The coffee was one of the best we've had in Adelaide, a full flavoured, locally produced dark roast, great for a morning heart starter. We deduct marks for service, they were undermanned and my wife was almost comatose by the time the coffee arrived, (approx 15 minutes). Yes, we'd go back.
Fabulous introduction to this gorgeous place! Just spot on on so many levels. Friendly and efficient service, and the oh-so-amazing food! From fat chips and prawn and salmon fish cakes to start with, to perfectly done Sirloin steak. Other dishes around the table - Salmon, mussels and lamb mains looked as delicious, and based on my friends' comments absolutely were.
There are also plenty of desert options, but I opted for an Espresso Martini which was on the sweeter side, but exactly what I needed.
Highly recommended!
Adelaide delivers again for this transient food-obsessed despot. A very quaint venue with excellent breakfast menu selections. Coffee was a little off the mark, but that's OK. Plentiful bacon in the breakfast brioche roll - which is a big tick. Would return again if in the vicinity.
I really love this type of food. French bistro style, simple but well-made and excellent with a good bottle of wine. Highly recommend it and I suspect they would do a terrific job for a wine and food function.
Our revisit back tracking all we did when we got engaged while on our honeymoon was let down a little by service. Our first visit in Feb 2014 was amazing both food and service. This time we had an issue where my wife had an allergic reaction to the shell fish that was getting serious but waitress was not helpful. I had to rush to kitchen for water to assist her. When discussing this with male staff member (seemed to be in charge) he just gave us the impression of pay bill and leave.
Other than that the owners\chefs again blew us away with great food. Do yourself a favour and drop in
I've walked by Delicatessen many times. It is in the vicinity of my former office, and I'd always wanted to try, but due to the crowds and being time poor didn't get a chance. Until now.
I can see why it's so popular. The menu is unique and well executed. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner in a classy setting, yet it is far from pretentious. My friend and I stopped here as part of a Foodi tour. They offered Pork & Sage meatballs, along with the attached 'Truffle & gruyere bread' to sample. I can't vouch for the meatballs as I don't eat pork, but other guests gave good feedback. The bread was a great texture, and you can't go wrong with that combination of flavours.
Next time I'll indulge in what the French do best - dessert.
Friendly service and great food!
Dropped by today for lunch and I couldn't have gone somewhere better. The lady who served us was so lovely and I honestly hope other waiters/waitresses follow her lead in serving patrons because not only did she greet us as soon as we stepped through the door; she seated us, gave us our menus, and even offered to explain anything we were unsure of.
The food. I would say that the dishes were reasonably priced given the portion size, quality and presentation. It was my first time having French onion soup (w/ sourdough, French butter - $13.90) and for some reason, I just wasn't too fond of it. I've never tasted any other French onion soup so I have little to say and judge on the quality, or how far/close it is to an authentic one, so overall, French onion soup is just for not for me. We also ordered the Ratatouille (w/ baked brie, salad leaves - $24) and that tasted quite nice with the melted cheese and seasoning. Also, one would expect fresh salad with any dish and that was exactly what we were given, in fact, that salad dressing was absolutely delicious!
Now, I ordered the Beef cheeks braised in black sherry, mashed potatoes, bacon lardons, and sautéed mushrooms ($28), and there is only one word to describe this pot dish: TASTY. The mashed potato was so smooth, and the beef cheeks were very soft and tender. I've never come across any meat that was braised to perfection, so if you're ever up for some good beef cheeks then you need to come here!
Overall, this place is gorgeous and I could definitely see myself coming back.
Been here 3 times now and its quickly become one of my go to places for food. The things i love about this place is the kitchen was still open for food at 9:30pm. They also offer 1/2 a bottle of wine to drink so you can get a taste for it before you decide to committ to the whole bottle. My fave is the boulebassie, its absolutely delish ! The duck is tender and flavoursome. The beef cheeks were cooked very well and their escargot is quite cheesy and may be great for people trying out snails for the first time.
High praise for the Nougat parfait aswell - this dessert has all the right elements of smooth sweet and abit of crunch.
The Delicatessen Kitchen and Bar (or Deli as we will call it) is a French inspired cafe/restaurant located on Waymouth Street, just off King William Street in the city. From the outside it doesn’t look like there is much to it, with an A-frame board on the street being the only thing that really draws your attention.
Celebrated a friend's birthday at this lovely french restaurant. We tried all the entrees and enjoyed each one of them so definitely get the charcuterie board that has most of the entrees. The pork scratchings were sinfully good and crispy. The parfait was smooth and delicious on crispy toast. The gyurere and truffle toast was like a mini pizza with rhat delicious stuff and they were not stingy with the truffle flavour at all. The steak tartare could have been seasoned more but overall you can never go wrong with steak tartare.
One of my pet peeves is when you take away something from a restaurant and they just carelessly toss the food inside the container and it ends up looking like dog food when you remove the lid. Well, I'm glad to report that Delicatessen did the exact opposite.
When I opened up my container I was so pleasantly surprised to see a beautifully arranged Nicoise Salad ($17.90) in front of me. You can tell the chef took utmost care and packed it in the container as if he was plating it up on a plate. I legitimately attracted food envy around the office - everyone kept asking where I got my lunch from.
I chose the Apple Smoked Chicken option and it was delicious! The apple flavour really came through and gave the whole dish this lovely fragrance. Every ingredient in the salad was extremely fresh. Top quality produce really makes a difference! The egg was perfectly boiled; the whites just cooked enough to hold shape and the yolk perfectly gooey.
I asked for the dressing on the side, but they forgot to give it to me. Honestly though the salad didn't need dressing - it's fantastic as is.
I was most impressed with the food I received from Delicatessen today. I can't wait to return!
What a charming and intimate spot on Waymouth. I love restaurants that have this kind of warming long line interior that's been carefully thought out on how to use the space to its maximum capability.
Do yourself a favor and order the French onion soup. It was absolutely delicious. I'm not sure it needed the double amount of bread both within and out of the soup but the taste of the soup is what you should be ordering this dish for. It was rich yet light and full of delicious flavors and texture. Onions were slightly caramelized and the melted cheese was gooey and decadent.
Although we didn't have one, the cocktails looked great. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the bar girl create them with thought and care and then watch her test them with a nod of approval. A great people watching experience.
Excellent. Great food. Good service. Will definitely go back again. Ordered the pan fried duck leg which is delicious. Venison n lamb is great too.
My daughter and I dined here for dinner. Great atmosphere, friendly service and good food. We ordered a range of the smaller tasting plates and they were all good. We tried Beef Tartar for the first time; two thumbs up from her and a "NO" from me. Will be back again to try the mains.
Amazing authentic Rueben Sandwich. Better than the one I had in New York (it was ridiculous with at least a kilo of pastrami in it!) - this one had the perfect ratio of pastrami to cheese to delicious mouth watering sauerkraut and horseradish cream.. The rye bread was amazing too. Service was fantastic too. Yum
The west end of the city is generally a shithole, but the food at this place is definitely worth dabbling. better service and food than all the hipster east end places like hey jupiter and east end providore.
I've been to Delicatessen Kitchen and Bar a number of times now and the experience never disappoints! Food amazing. A must try are the Beef cheeks and chicken liver parfait.
An old co worker had recommended Delicatessen Kitchen And Bar to me a while back and was raving about the European style food they served. I asked A to join me for lunch since she worked across the road. There aren’t many places in Adelaide that do classic American foods. When I saw they had a Reuben sandwich on the menu I immediately thought of the movie When Harry Met Sally where they are sitting in the famous Katz’s Delicatessen.
Loved the food there. Everything was of good quality - classic, unpretentious, simple yet delicate. Loved the French onion soup, club sandwich (not too salty with a generous amount of filling), and stews. The bread that came with the dishes were amazing. Staff were friendly. Made our first visit to Adelaide a memorable exprience. Highly recommend this place.
Great little bar/cafe. The inside is like you step into a European establishment. Coffee was great and I wouldn't mind heading back for the food and wine!
We really enjoyed eating at Delicatessan. We came on a quiet night and were the last ones in the restaurant. Our waiter was great, happy to explain the menu and was very attentive without being intrusive. He gave us a few recommendations and the highlights were the duck liver parfait which came with a fig and walnut toast = delicious, the steak tartare, and the mussels with a delicous cream soup. I thought the scallops were just ok, and probably wouldn't order those again. The steak was cooked exactly as I ordered but the chips were a let down, plain, not crunchy and boring. But, overall I think the food was pretty good. Great atmosphere, service and food! Will be back.
What a wonderful place this little secret in the city is. We made a last minute dinner booking with friends on the weekend. Attentive staff and delicious food served in a relaxed atmosphere without the chaos of a noisy restaurant. The food was spot on, the service was great and we...
Delicatessen kitchen and bar is neatly sprawled behind an innocent corner doorway adjacent Waymouth place. Their website tells us the owners and operators were former staff of The Treasury which in our view is a beautiful venue offering superb food. Have these guys paved the way to bigger and better things? Well (spoiler alert) purely from a burger perspective, perhaps not.
Located at the busy end on Waymouth Street, The Delicatessen have placed themselves amongst some strong competition (think Press, Bistro Dom, Melt, etc.). Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner 7-days, the food is French and English inspired; something a bit unique to Adelaide's CBD.
Other than some good reviews online, we hadn't heard too much about this place, so, after a Fringe show, decided to try it for dinner on a busy Saturday night.
We booked online via Zomato - that was all good. Inside, the place is quite small and narrow, and other than some artwork on the wall, it's a pretty basic fit-out. On our arrival, the place was nearly full - a good sign.
The dinner menu is a combination of small, medium and large plates, plus a bunch of sides and salads. Between four people, we shared six dishes. The croquettes and pork scratchings to begin were a good start. Next, the beef tartare, was perhaps the night's best dish; Thai fish cakes also nice. The scallops, other people's favourite dish, was a close second best. To finish, the sirloin steak was excellent and cooked perfectly.
Drinks menu is also good: a solid selection of some less-known premium South Australian wines, a good list of craft beers plus various cocktails. Service was also particularly good.
In all, we would certainly return here again and also recommend others to try it.
Been here twice for lunch - first time, had the duck roll, and it was divine; meat was tender and full of flavour, with the right amount of cheese and rocket, and the bread roll itself was soft with a thin layer of crunch on top.
Second time, had the American Cheeseburger - the ingredients were good quality and flavours were balanced, the burger as a whole was tasty, but execution needed to be better - the burger was overcooked and burnt, and the bacon was dry and also very burnt. Chips were nice, but needed a bit more crunch to really make them stand out (they were a bit chewy).
Overall a nice place to go for lunch. It does get extremely loud inside though, as the sound bounces off all the walls and floors.
Easy to sum it all up. Amazing. Food- some of the most amazing we have had! Waitstaff- super friendly.
We went the other night with a small group. The food was simply lovely! The croquettes were so crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The main was very tasty. I enjoyed finally having a salmon with real crispy skin that you can hear crack when you bite it. The espresso martini on arrival was magic! Had a great night here and staff were so welcoming and constantly checking in with the table. I can't wait to go back and try the breakie menu now.
I thought there were no better places at Waymouth St than George’s, and Press Food and Wine. I thought I wouldn’t need to go any further for consistent amazing food, and top service but I was wrong. And it’s a shame that it took me longer to discover this place.
I have been going here for a while, and every trip to this restaurant has provided me an amazing, unforgettable experience. The cooks here are masters of any cuisine; whether making up a delicious carbonara, a mouth watering cheeseburger, or bringing you right to Paris with their French dishes. It’s a guarantee that all their dishes will leave a lasting impression for a long time.
Despite the fine-dining experience this place can provide, it does have a relax atmosphere, especially at lunch. They do lunch time specials and provide a range of options at very generous prices considering the quality and portions given. For instance, their cheeseburger is set at the price that is found at other top-end burger places and pubs.
Delicatessen Kitchen & Bar is a treasure in Adelaide’s restaurant scene. Whether breakfast, lunch or dinner and from the appetizers to the entrees to the mains and to the dessert, or something on their specials board, anything that you choose is guaranteed to please you. This place has simple and thoughtfully crafted dishes but also provides people an opportunity to try some French cuisine, and also gives foodies something adventurous that even they can love and appreciate. After going here so many times, I decided to be a bit more adventurous than usual in one of my lunch time visits by choosing the ratatouille. It had ingredients that I haven’t tried and normally wouldn’t want to try like goats cheese and capsicum from memory, and while it wasn’t enough to change my tastes entirely, I really did love the warmth, texture and presentation that the ratatouille had. And I’ve becoming back ever since.
It is my favourite restaurant in Adelaide because of the quality of produce in their food and its exceptional presentation, the service provided, and for its excellence it is extremely good value for money.
Dine in for early lunch. Rang to book a table, staff were very friendly over the phone accommodating extra person and organising a table so that is not that crampy for us. Greet by helpful and friendly staffs. Lotsa menu to look at, breakfast, lunch and the whole day. Printed nicely on thick brown paper but it would be better if its clip in a book form or clipboard. However, the menu look very inviting. My friends and I ordered from the whole day menu. Service is moderate not fast but not too slow. We tried the pork belly, mussel and duck confit leg. Out of the three I prefer the pork belly meat the most, beautiful crackling on the top with moist meat. Some edges of the meat is really dry but overall, beautiful piece of pork belly served with some slices fennel salad. The confit duck leg is delicious but the duck leg itself is quite salty. Other than that, it was cook beautifully served with your choice of either mash potato with truffle sauce or salad. Obviously I have chosen mash potato with truffle sauce. The mash potato texture was perfect and the truffle sauce was just heavenly beautiful. It can be a bit overpowering for those who doesn't really like truffle. When the dish was served, you can smell truffle instantly, so if you are not a fan of truffle then don't order this dish. Mussels were good, cook with white wine sauce. The dish would be 10 out of 10 if they would have clean the mussel more. There was fair bit of debris/slime left which is a bit unpleasant when you eat. You would need to check them all and remove before eating, which makes it a bit inconvenient. Overall, the whole lunch experience was pretty good. Would be back again to try the rest on the menu.
After a day of back-to-back meetings I was after a dinner that would deliver. Zomato helped me scout out the Delicatessen...
I was not disappointed. My god. One of the best meals I have EVER had. Huge call.
The pork belly was so incredibly tender, the crackling spot on and the apple and celeriac sauce along with the slaw topped it off! The side of green beans was simple with a hint of capers and parmesan.
What made my heart sing was the dessert; Nougat parfait with salted caramel and raspberry coulis. Wow. This was INCREDIBLE. If a meal can make me dance with glee while I'm eating, you know I've had a fab time. Do yourself a favour and hit up Delicatessen Kitchen and Bar. You won't regret it!
Absolutely INCREDIBLE from Service thru the FOOD! Andy & Paul have your experience all figured out & make wonderful suggestions! We had the Scallops Starter, then the Condit Duck Leg & Mussels. Everything@ was a delicate layering of flavors & seasoning! When in Adelaide this is a MUST STOP and ENJOY!
This place happened to be down the road from my hotel and it looked pretty casual but the food from this place was nothing short of AMAZING.
I am a self confessed chicken liver parfait/pate sl*t and when I see it on the menu I HAVE TO have it and I want it in and around my mouth and my god, I could've eaten this over and over again. Silky smooth and I loved the butter on the outside. My only gripe is not enough jelly!!
Next up I had the scotch fillet with hand cut chips, salad and bernaise. That was a tasty bit of cow! Asked for medium rare but it was more so medium but still tender. Bernaise was perfect, chips crisp and I loved the pickled onions in the salad.
good location~good experience for dinner~not a very big area~but quite nice~I ordered duck for a bit risk ~although the serve took a bit time~but was a good one~the duck thigh with crispy skin plus hot soft meat~and the meat part is marinaded very well~and there's almost no fat at all~it was served with smashed potato and truffle sauce~sauce just a bit salty~however~it's ok with some drink~

It is seemingly a case of an excellent venue delivering a less than perfect burger, but it comes highly recommended as a lunch venue all the same. If that makes sense!
Have been here a few times now and this place always exceeds what you expect. The atmosphere is lovely, the service is always top class, with waiters smiling and loving what they do. The food is fantastic, And well priced not expensive which is what you want. I have been there so many times I have basically had the whole menu, I have tried foods I thought I never would. And yes that includes snails lol. Do yourself a favour and try it out!
Delicatessen is one of my favourite places to eat in the city. It's great for lunch - they do amazing bacon and egg brioches for $10 during the day - and even better for dinner. The staff are super attentive and know a lot about the food. I love it because there's lots of butter and cheese - how cooking should be. Also the blue cheese meatballs are incredibly good!
Service was friendly and attentive and the club sandwich was very nice and was accompanied by home made chips. Coffee was great, it was reasonably expensive for lunch but it very nice tucker.
I love this place on Waymouth Street! It looks adorable on the corner and is open really early for great coffee right until really late when it turns in to an adorable wine bar.
I've not experienced the wine bar, but I have had many a coffee! Most recently I had a bacon and egg brioche with a coffee for $10. The roll was DELICIOUS (brioche can never go wrong) and big enough to fill me up until the afternoon.
The service is wonderful & the place is a rare one still open for late afternoon coffee.
Definitely recommend!
Love love love this place! It's conveniently close to my work so I'll often pop in for a coffee and then be tempted by the freshly baked Portuguese tarts or the egg and bacon brioche (currently featuring in a $10 brioche and coffee deal). I've also found myself here in a Friday night sharing pate and cheese over a glass or two of wine. A perfect little slice of Europe right on Waymouth street.
Entrees were outstanding. Had the chicken liver parfait and the blue cheese meatballs. They were to die for! Had escargot butter steak and the pork belly for mains, both were pretty good too. Would defiantly come back just for their meatballs though!
Best restaurant I've been to in SA!
Amazing prices for fantastic French dining. Also the friendliest and interesting staff I've met in a long time.
The warm, candle-lit ambience, friendly welcome and smell of rich French cooking was a real winner on a wet winters night! The menu had a great range, drinks list was extensive and all the staff we had the pleasure of dealing with were attentive and friendly. As good as the cocktails were, the food was the winner and I couldn't fault anything. I'm glad we wandered in! Thanks for a great meal and night- I'll be back next time I'm in town.
Gorgeous little french nook tucked away from the world. Our party had the beef cheeks, duck confit, wagyu steak and it was all beautifully cooked. I imagine it would be like in a little french house, strong aromas and simple delicate food. Decor is gorgeous too. We will definitely be back.
French, dark, moody. Not well known about.
In the space of an old ordinary coffee shop in the heart of suits and corporate Adelaide, sits the Delicatessen.
The menu is a modern take on French classics with steak tartare, baked camebert and friends sitting alongside slow cooked lamb shoulder and steak with frites.
The food is bang on and just like all good French venues, there is plenty of garlic and all sauces are rich and deeply satisfying.
Great wine list with plenty of local and French labels and a good range of craft beer.
The perfect date spot when you want to impress with local knowledge about a place that the people in the know are raving about.

Delicatessen Kitchen and Bar had been on my hit list for awhile so when a friend at work informed me of the delicious sounding lunch she encountered there I (Amanda) knew I had to bump it up the list much quicker. One Tuesday lunch, myself, 2 girlfriends and a baby enter the spacious, well presented, french inspired establishment. On this particular day there are only a couple of tables occupied and as we arrive with a pram in tow we are promptly upgraded to a larger table. We are provided with 2 menu choices, the specialised lunch menu and the full dinner menu. We all select something from the lunch menu as they all sound delicious, well sized and reasonably priced.
At the first right corner on Waymouth Street coming in from King William Street, sits a new French Delicatessen Kitchen & Bar manned by Chefs Andy Thiele and Paul Gray. Both gentlemen worked together at The Treasury before taking over the Manna Cafe E Ristorante space and turned it into the Delicatessen; sitting amongst great company of Press* and Georges on Waymouth. Chef Andy’s passion for French and English cuisine developed over time as he worked in Michelin star restaurants and gastro pubs in Europe, Adelaide and the Riverland. Both chef’s philosophy for the Delicatessen is to create simple comfort food utilising and respecting fresh quality local ingredients.
Excellent coffee and cake. We will be back.. Stopped in for a quick coffee after eating lunch elsewhere and was met with smiles and quick friendly service. The coffee was excellent and served hot. The Portuguese tart from the counter was perfect and worth the visit alone. We will be back with a large group of friends to explore what looks like an amazing dinner menu.
Fine dining at its best. This modern Australian / French restaurant is a great find. I came here late April with 8 friends for dinner. The staff were friendly and professional. They accommodated the baby on our table well. I had goat cheese in stout, saltbush lamb and crème caramel. They were all delicious. The food is very rich, so it is a fine dining experience rather than a caffe/pub sort of meal. The prices are very fair. I would gladly come back. My friends all really enjoyed their meals, too.

Both chef’s philosophy for the Delicatessen is to create simple comfort food utilising and respecting fresh quality local ingredients. A handful of my friends had been to the Delicatessen during their lunch break and had only raving reviews and photos of empty plates to share, so I quickly and spontaneously arranged a quick get together with our motley crew of 5 to have a dinner session pronto! The stars must have aligned that week as everyone was free and dinner was on! The menu was met with 5 pairs of hungry eyes as we quickly and swiftly ordered 4 items from the starters category and 2 from the charcuterie/smallgoods just for starters! Steak tartare, melba toast, free range egg; $16.00 One of the many favourite things we like to eat. A classic steak tartare with bits of onion, pepper, capers and combined with a golden egg yolk before being generously slabbed on thin slices of crunchy melba toast. Salmon and prawn fish cakes, dill mayonnaise; $14.00 A trio of crunchy battered large discs of salmon and prawn fish cakes sat in a pool of bright green dill mayo. We found the fish cakes cooked well with a crumbly casing and moist flakey filling, however we found it underwhelming in terms of flavour whereas we found the dill mayo to be overwhelmingly… dill-y. The cheek of fresh lemon was an added relief for some flavour on these fancy crumbed fish cakes. Chicken liver parfait, sherry gellèe, walnut & fig melba; $13.00 The cutest cleaver we
Absolutely delicious!. I've tried this place quite a few times now and it's so good I keep going back for more. My favorite would have to be the charcuterie board to share for entrée and the pork belly or salmon dish for main. The staff are very friendly and the food is very reasonably priced for the quality of food. I am yet to check out the breakfast menu, but I am sure it will easily measure up to the experience I've had so far.
Beautiful food and great service. I had a yummy beef cheek meal the other week with homemade bread. It was beautifully presented and the food was delicious - fell apart and so tender. I felt the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food. The staff are really happy, helpful and fast.
Went back for a Xmas breakfast and had the sausage and beans with the poached eggs and toast. Not normally a fan of this sort of thing in the morning but it was delicious and would order again. The only negative I have is its fairly nice place and upper class meals so I didn't understand my friends meal coming with the baked beans in a Heinz can with her traditional breakfast. It looked tacky.
Other than that it's a new favourite and great place - I think though as it gets even more popular booking will be a must :D
Delicious food!. I went here for lunch and had the flat bread with brie, prosciutto, rocket and truffle oil and it was amazing! Simple, high quality ingredients that made an absolutely delicious meal, that was just the right size for lunch. Their lunch menu is not too expensive at all given the quality of the food, presentation and service. I will definitely be back again and highly recommend this place.
In love with the space here. Top service, great menu, excellent coffee. Making a Melburnian happy.
Had my Christmas Eve dinner here and was genuinely impressed!
The Bouillabaisse was definitely the highlight - the soup tasted delicious with a complex flavour from all the fresh seafood in it. The amount of seafood was generous - crab, prawns, mussels, clams, salmon… A dish that warms up your night.
The pork and thyme meatball was also amazing with the blue cheese sauce - meat was bouncy, juicy and flavourful.
The night ended perfectly with the nougat parfait - rich, milky and nicely balanced with raspberry and coco powder.
Scotch fillet was nicely charred and cooked. Escargot was a bit too plain for our liking - but maybe that’s the authentic French style.
Definitely a hidden gem in Adelaide city and good for an celebratory occasion or just a casual nice dinner on the weekend!
My husband kindly booked to go for a belated Valentine's dinner.
It was lovely.
As soon as you walk in. It's a place you want to be in. Busy at 6pm. Staff were lovely and attentive.
We had croquettes to start they were delicious. Then onto mains. We had beef cheek and a steak. Both meals were excellent.
Onto dessert. We had creme brulee is was perfect.
All the food was excellent quality. Well presented. Wine list was good. Dessert a must.
We had a great night.
Wine went down well.
Would easily come back. This was a really good quality French restaurant. See you again 🍾🍷
Loved the atmosphere of the place. Bliss 😊
Dinner at @delicatessen_bar a couple of weeks ago before going to the symphony! We haven't been back here in a very long time. We have definitely missed the food here!
.
Shallot and goats cheese tart, salad: absolutely delicious! But not quite a tart in the traditional sense 😅. The goats cheese was not overwhelming, and worked really well with the dish.
.
Salmon fillet cured with local gin, dressed fennel & honey mustard: light and refreshing! Yummy 😋😋.

Amazing food and incredibly friendly service. The best Reuben I've ever had! All of our meals were fantastic as were the desserts and the sangria. Highly recommend a visit.
A really great experience dining here last night. The food was divine and scrumptious. I especially loved thw Scotch steak, which was perfectly cooked. So juicy and tender. Very easy to cut through. Prob the best steak I have had. The fat chips were fresh and crunchy. The salad was refreshing and tangy. My partner had their braised beef cheek, which was very rich in flavor. The crème Brûlée was heavenly and was not overly sweet. We had the tap beer and Pior Noir half bottle. The wine was great, for someone who only drinks every once in a while, I quite enjoyed it. The service was brilliant and everyone was very attentive and welcoming. The whole experience was very smooth and enjoyable. It was our first night in Adelaide and it was def unforgettable. All 5 stars
Delicious bouillabaisse, it’s so yummy with bread, must try.
Enjoyed their Chef Menu with 3 course sharing plate…..generous portion.
Nougat parfait melt in mouth.
Will be back for the duck dish.
Fantastic food and service. The pork meatballs in blue cheese sauce was delicious, and the seafood bouillabaisse was pack with ingredients and flavours!
