Review Marrakech Restaurant - Adelaide

Amy Phillips
What an absolute delight this place was for us! From the authentic food, impeccable service we were blown away. Absolutely felt as if we’d taken a trip to Morocco for the evening. It’s a spectacle in itself to order the mint tea and watch it being poured! The rose water offering at the end of the evening was divine. What a treasure, lucky to have experienced this in Adelaide.

Fantastic restaurant! Delicious food and amazing atmosphere. Staffs are super friendly. Having mint tea served after dinner was absolutely great experience. Love this place.

Ambience - Dark blue walls with starry ceiling lights dancing away their light show to the opening & closing of door. Too crowded but can’t blame them - their food is awesome. Not a good place for someone who is claustrophobic. Not sure if it meets safety standards as people were seated even next to the entrance of the connected section. High chances of people bumping into each other. Food - Super Flavorful! We had: - Melwi (Fantastic to have on a cold evening. Would describe it as a Morroccan Pizza) - Veg Balls (Super tasty) - Lamb (Super tender) - Beef Meatballs (Lahrech Tagine) - Saffron rice - Couscous - Khobz (Crusty yet soft) - Pannacotta - Mint tea Wait time - Not much for Entree. For mains, is long as it is slow cooked. Best to place order for Entree & Mains in one go. The flavors that come from the food is worth the wait. Service - Our server was an amazing man who was friendly, detailed with his information & prevented us from over ordering. He made sure we were happy with everything from food to service! As a traditional custom- he even drizzled rose water on our hands, the smell lingered on. Their mint tea is a digestive drink fan fare & definitely worth trying out!! A must restaurant to visit.

Look no further for the best Moroccan food you can consume in Adelaide! My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed all of the things we ordered for dinner, especially the vegetarian chickpea tagine! Service is phenomenal from the moment you walk in til you walk out. Very reasonably priced as well. We ordered five dishes for less than $100 🙂 (which we even had some left overs to take home).

Not going to deny that the food was delicious, all dishes were cooked to perfection and full of flavour. However, the service was the total opposite. It was unbelievably terrible. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left. We were seated and after waiting 5mins for the menu, I had to ask for it. We were only 2 people. Ordering also took very long. We ordered an entrè, the dip platter, Couscous and a tagine dish. The dip platter came half an hour after ordering which was a ridiculous amount of time as it wasn't even a main. It shouldn't take that long as it's only dips and a small fried entrè. When we finished the 2 dishes our waiter took the empty plates and we sat there waiting for our main. A group of 6 people came and were seated. The same waiter took their order right away and within 15mins of ordering they received their entrè which also included the dip platter. That wasn't a problem. My partner fell asleep against the wall waiting for our main. During that time the waiter begun bringing out main dishes which included around 4 tagine dishes as well to that same table and I was shocked as they had came in half an hour after us. I woke up my partner to let him know and he had the same shocked reaction as me. I called the waiter over and asked her why we haven't received our main dish yet and that table had came after us and received all their dishes. Her reply was "I'm giving you guys a break between appetiser and main", seriously 🤦‍♀️. You had taken our appetisers half an hour ago and your giving us a break. I begun to laugh because what type of excuse is that? Why didn't you also give the other table a half an hour break between their appetiser and mains? The waiter which I'm guessing is Indian/South Asian was rude when I questioned her that and when she brought our main out she slammed it on the table. No apology no nothing. Also another table came in after us and right away she brought the menu for them. Such horrible service. All up, two appetiser and a main almost took almost 2 hours to eat. We came in at 7:20 and left 9:10. Although the food is great, we won't be back due to lack of service.

Took interstate visitors here and they commented “this is the best tagine I’ve ever had”. The meat was so tender it melts in your mouth. Restaurant is quite small and intimate with nice decorations. Food is very tasty.

Fantastic restaurant - amazing food and service. The manager is full of energy and is lots of fun. He is passionate about the food. I loved watching the mint tea being poured from high up into a small cup and hearing how the food is prepared. It is a great experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Tried to book for Monday night, told open but not open if only a party of 10, disappointing at best, update your open times if you're not open on Mondays...

I have only been here once, but I absolutely loved it. I went for my birthday dinner, and it was a great experience.
The food was delicious, every single thing we ordered/shared (everyone raved about the food). The dips were unusual (much chunkier than expected, but obviously homemade) and really tasty (we got the eggplant, carrot and beetroot dips). The Lamb Makfoul was mouthwatering. My table also ordered the Djaj Maassel and Berber Tagine (all with couscous). Everything was cooked to perfection. The meat kind of fell apart as you were picking it up, it was slow cooked beautifully.

There is great service here as well. The staff were attentive. and the owner (I think he was the owner, his name was Mohammed) checked in on us and insisted on giving us extra mint tea at the end of our meal. He was such a welcoming man. I would recommend this place without hesitation.

We had a lovely dinner here a little while back when we were on holidays in Adelaide. The food was great and the service was unbelievably friendly and welcoming. We were made to feel very much at home. What a delicious discovery!

Promised a lot but under delivered on expectations. Entrees were tasty and the pick of the night, if not a little lazy in presentation. We had the prawn dish and sausage dish. The mains, both tangines had super tender meats, beef and a chicken but really lacked depth in their flavours. Unfortunately the wine by the glass tasted like it had been open for a week but I guess that's the risk you run when buying by the glass.

Went there for the first time I was really surprised by the welcoming warm service ,and very attentive too ,and then the better part was the food specially the lamb which is so tender and juicy ,it a really a must try, just book if you going on weekend coz they always fully booked and we lucky we got a table this time without booking

One of the best services -hands down. Lovely staff. Food is nice but it was nicer a few years ago.. saffron chicken is a must try and so are their breads

Simply superb!!!

Superb and friendly staff. Food is authentic and unique. Very tasty. Try anything from any menu and it will taste great. Yes, it will cost you a little, but for me it's totally worth it! We see a tiny glimpse to the friendly moroccan culture there. Would definitely go again and recommend to anyone.

Great vibe, but the patrons are truly swished in. I ordered the bestella, (photo below) It was an interesting dish, chicken pie wrapped in filo pastry. I did enjoy it, but think pricing is a bit high. The tagines are excellent for sharing, and that is great value for money
Real Toffee
Great meal. Food was delicious, really delivered on the authentic Middle eastern flavour. Highly recommended to anyone who is willing to expand their palate.

Came here for the first time last night and will definitely be back.
The manger, or so I presume, was a wonderful host and although it was busy, he may sure we were always comfortable - even apologised for the ‘delay’ on our mains, which was not at all delayed!
The food was delicious - probably ordered too much as they were very generous servings.
I definitely recommend you try the Mini Dip Platter and the Barba (beetroot salad), they were divine. We had an array of tagines and all were thoroughly enjoyed. As we were leaving the manager quickly washed our hands in rose water which seriously topped off the authentic feel of the night.

After feeling not so lucky after Lucky Lupitas we continued our food search and landed up at Marrakech. The restaurant looked really busy with a lot of the inside tables filled so we sat outside. We decided to stick to our entree dishes ordering strategy.
We ordered the lamb backstrap kebab skewers and the spicy sausage, both with cous cous. As is understandable on a busy night it took a little time for the food to come out.
The lamb backstrap was cooked well, but overall the flavour was a little bland. The salad was fresh. The dish rated a 3.
The spicy sausage was tasty enough but not spicy, and the sauce was nice with the cous cous. The vegetables with the spicy sausage were delicious and raised the dish a notch. Overall this dish rated 3.5.
We were pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary ice cream and sweet cous cous dessert. This was a lovely gesture and the dish rated a 4 for the nice flavours of the dried fruits with the cous cous.
Very friendly waiters made for a pleasant evening.
Overall. this seems like a quite a nice restaurant.

Honestly one of the best morrocan restaurants ive been too! The food and service were amazing, waitresses' were lovely and guy who presumingly owned the place was also extremely kind and benevolent. The food came out quickly and it was full of flavor! I've traveled through morroco in the past and the tangier lamb dish i had at marrakech tasted almost identical to that same dish ive had in morrocco proving its authenticity! It's a thumbs up from me.

Dined here last night for the first time with my husband and friends and it was perfect. Loved your food and great hospitality, we will definitely be back asap with our family. Can't wait....thank you Marrakech

It was my partner's birthday last night, and we booked a table for us, plus my brother and mother. An exceptional dining experience with outstanding food with an equally outstanding service. Thank you for making our night great. We will definitely be back.

I had great memories from the hyde park site and dining at the new O'Connell street Restaurant went above and beyond. An amazing selection of wines as per usual. The added bonus of great company & service. Including the head chef& owners recommendation of Lamb tagine& mixed seafood tagine. The lamb fell apart... cooked impeccably. I also don't generally like scallops or mussels but this time was different, so tender and full of flavor. The perfect date night, feel very spoilt. We'll be back soon.

Amazing!!!!! Highly recommend it! Asiful took such good care of our group and stayed open extra late for us even though they had closed when we arrived. Very good service and very hospitable! Wonderful food :)
Laura
Pretty average food. The entree dips were nice but that was about it. The tajine was very bland even though we're we're told that it was quite spicy (we responded that we love plenty of chilli but there wasn't a hint). The side of olives was the most disappointing - $10 for a bowl of supermarket olives from a jar. There's only so much that harissa can do to a jar olive! I'm also certain there was no saffron in the saffron rice - it tasted more like heavy turmeric.
The waitress was really friendly but a person I believe to be the manager was very pushy, pouring tea when we said we did not want any and following us a fair way out of the restaurant with rosewater after we twice told him that we did not need any.
There's nothing about Marrakech that would bring me back.
Zoe L
Our waitress was lovely and the restaurant itself is really nice but the food wasn't outstanding. What we ordered was definitely nice but no wow factor and is overpriced also, $7 rice that wasn't even fluffy and still have large clumps. When we asked for the bill the waitress seemed very surprised we didn't want dessert or mint tea, a man poured tea the table behind us and came to our table and pour two glasses even though we politely declined. I understand this was a nice gesture but we were keen to get home. As we stood up to leave the same man offered us water to wash our hands, again we politely declined but he was insistent and went to get the water - we processed to leave as we were already standing, as we were walking down the street he called out to us with the water in hand, again we declined but he followed us to give us a business card telling us we could book online. We found this extremely unprofessional and just really odd, loss of points for this experience at the end. Unfortunately I don't recommend Marrakech and would not return.

This place is really quite lovely, cosy and a bit romantic as well.

The food, however, could have been better.

We had the dips to start with, which were quite good, but really needed more seasoning to bring out the flavours. Followed by the lamb tagine, which unfortunately was very watery, needed more flavor, but at least it was nice and tender. Then the bestella, what a disappointment, I love this dish when it is done right and I’m sorry to say, this was not good, the filling was boring, the presentation was lazy, this should not happen in a said Moroccan establishment. The food is not cheap for what you get. What a shame as it really is quite a pretty place!
Probably would not return.

Just finished dinner at this beautiful restaurant. Do not have one bad thing to say about it ! Even though very busy, our food came out quickly and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. For one the food is extremely flavoursome and satisfying, all the dishes we had were outstanding. The thing that stood out for us the most was the amazing staff and the owner Mohammed, having worked in hospitality myself I honestly can say I have not seen that level of hospitality in a long time. Even if I didn't like the food I would go back for the staff and overall ambiance of the place ! But loved the food and the experience and will definitely be back ! A MUST TRY PLACE !
Went Friday evening with 4 others and ordered the $49 banquet. It turned out to be much more food than we could eat, even though we all started out hungry, and took home a sizeable amount of leftovers.
We started with dips and bread, moved on to stuffed dates, pastry rolls with icing sugar then 3 Tagines, rice & breads, and dessert of 3 fairy-floss ice creams and sweet mint tea.
It was all a bit sweet for my palate but the Tagines were the hero dishes. Hot and bubbly they came out with a bit of style and presentation, and smelled rich and spicy. Not that it tasted too strong. It was mild and creamy, and the beef, lamb and chicken were very tender.
Clearly Moroccan food is built on sugar.
Service was attentive and food came at just the right speed.
The Marrakech has a genuine ambiance about itself and a good place to take some friends and few bottles of wine to spend a couple of tasty hours.

First time to the Marrakech and we weren't disappointed. Very nice authentic atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. We noticed our table for 2 was missing a levelling stud on the leg so the table rocked far too much. The waitress attempted to fix it straightway but wasn't too successful so we just ensured not to lean too far on one side. It was a Saturday night and we didn't need wait too long for our dishes. We both enjoyed the Khizxou dip as a starter. I ordered the lamb tanjia which was a bit too salty for our taste but tender, flavoursome and very enjoyable nonetheless. My partner ordered the saffron chicken which tasted great and she really loved it. We both had difficuty finishing it all with the sides of couscous and rice. I just didn't want to stop eating the lamb even with the saltiness of the dish. I will definitely go back to Marrakech.

Meal was good, not outstanding. Service is slow but very pleasant and friendly. The entree platter, bread and dips are great as well as the dessert Moroccan pancakes. The mains were standard in my opinion.

The best service and food on earth. I would like to eat here every day for every meal. An awesome vibe and can't recommend enough. Cannot go wrong here

Came here in a medium sized group with work colleagues for dinner on the advice of one of our bosses. Unfortunately, I probably won't be taking her advice on restaurants again!

Marrakech has a really nice charm to it, being decorated in a Moroccan theme. The head chef was walking around being very friendly, greeting and talking to people. Our waitress, although polite, really had no idea about the menu, having to go back to the kitchen several times to ask for answers to simple questions, and just wasn't very helpful. All of the mains are cooked and served in a tagine with chicken, lamb, beef and vegetable options. I shared the saffron chicken and the tanjia merrakchia (beef). Both were OK, but very salty. The tagines are about $30 each and are for a single person, the saffron rice or couscous was $7 a side, the waitress told us one side was for two but really it was only enough for one. It's not terrible but it's quite steep for what it is at around $37 for a main with rice, without adding in entree, drinks, other sides or desserts.

The restaurant does have a nice atmosphere, the staff are friendly, but really I'm expecting a lot at that price point. I wasn't very impressed by the dishes so unfortunately, I would rather spend my money somewhere else.

Great food, especially for cold days, and nice variety of dishes. Targines are a must try along with the specialty bread. Only minor issues with small tables and short-staffed when the restaurant got busier.

it was our first morroccan experience and we we re amazed starting with the warm friendly service,we ask the waiter to order for us coz we have no idea, and he suggested the banquet,so we started with the yummy stuffed dates, then they gave us 4 dips, all tasted home made and fresh, then we had the bestella which to die for, then the lamb tagine with couscous and fluffy fresh morroccan bread, and we finish w baghrir ( morroccan pan cakes ) and some freshly brewed mint tea,we loved everything,we ll definetely be back,it s a must try restaurant

On a chilly Saturday night we headed to Marrakech in North Adelaide, a Moroccan restaurant that we’d been wanting to try for a while. Considering it was the first really wintery night of April, a hot, smoky tagine sounded like the perfect dinner. We’d booked earlier in the week and despite being considerably late to our reservation, we were greeted with utter warmth and friendliness. We quickly got to business choosing our food, deciding on the 4 dip platter to start, followed by a slow cooked lamb tagine, and the saffron chicken. To accompany we couldn’t go pass some couscous, Khobz traditional Moroccan bread, and of course a bottle of red. While we sipped on our Mojo Barossa Valley Shiraz waiting for starters, the atmosphere was perfect. Busy and bustling but not loud enough to drown conversation, surrounded by beautiful traditional Moroccan decorations and attentive, friendly staff who seemed genuinely happy to serve you. When the dips came and we had our pick of the beetroot dip, Zaalouk eggplant dip, Khizzou carrot dip, and Bakkoula spinach dip. Each chunky little pot of veg was laden with tasty spices, bringing different flavours. The warm pita served was soft and springy, and left us satiated the perfect amount in anticipation for the mains. While waiting, the high-spirited Chef Mohamad Bartaouch himself we had seen bouncing from table to table, came to see how we’d been. He chatted with us jovially, about the food, the place, making absolute sure we were being taken care of and in good hands. Continually checking in with us through the evening, his charismatic nature made the experience exquisite and memorable. The mains were served, and we were spoilt with choice to dig in. The steaming pot of Tagine Makfoul housed the softest, most tender, fall-apart lamb slow cooked in onion and tomato. The Djaj Mhemmer

Really tender meat. Got two tagines... beef was melt in mouth tender. The meat ball tagine was very delivious. i,m not usually into Morrocon food but my mum is that is why we went. This may have just changed my mind on the matter. Awesome food, highly recommend

Beautiful food, people and ambiance! Had a birthday dinner here with a big group and had the staff celebrate and sing with us.. Fantastic service!! Made the whole evening so much better!

Amazing. Seriously.. ITS not Just dinner.. ITS an experience .. We got there, all the staff we're super friendly. Mohammed recommended one of the best south Australian wine you will taste in your life, and a great price. The food was delicious, the service was 10 out of 10. The food... Just amazing. Mohammed is one of Australia's best chefs. It's a bucket list experience and I will be back soon.

Devine meal, Devine service.. Came for dinner with my TAFE group on the 11th, was my first visit, but loved everything I tried, the service, decor and staff are impeccable! So impressed!!!

Ordered takeaway bread upon my 2nd visit, with my family, received free tea, & treats for my children. Becoming a great favourite. Thankyou Marrakech staff!! You are all so lovely!

Bland Fair. I had hoped for an intimate dining experience, but instead felt I was attending a football final. The overcrowding of tables was not only uncomfortable, it was also potentially dangerous if there had been a need for an emergency exit. They crammed in three large tables cheek by jowel - which also poorly impacted the service. The food was also quite bland. I had ordered a lamb targine which was dry and overcooked when it arrived, with none of the subtle flavours of the herbs suggested by the menu. Our friend ordered the beef targine and seemed similarly unimpressed, except their was watery. Perhaps another time they may focus on the quality of service rather than the number of covers.

What a wonderful array of flavours!. My husband and I went with a Scoopon for a banquet for two. Spent over two hours there, but it didn't feel like it. We turned up without a reservation but they were happy to accommodate us. The service was friendly and the food...absolutely delicious! So much, we couldn't finish it. Looking forward to going back soon.

Tantalize your senses. Greeted personally at the door with a smile, such a nice touch to have personal door and table service.

I started the evening with a baileys and the owners suggestion of the new dish, Melwi. A Moroccan bread filled with cheese/goats cheese, baby spinich, that was panfried with argon oil.... wow just devine. (the best part of the meal)

The Mains chosen was the seafood "Fruit de mer", meat balls "Lahrech", accompanied with a small "rice" & "cous cous" with a beetroot and tomato salald "barba".

Definitely needed the salad to freshen the rich flavours of the meatballs (so so yummy) and the seafood dish which is great for a marinara fan (of which I am not).

Overall it was beautiful food and service, considering it was a Tuesday evening in North Adelaide, the restaurant was half full with people coming and going, I can see why.

Thank you Marakkesh staff, I'll be back.

Went with the Groupon voucher, $49 for a 2-people banquette. Very yummy food but very bad service. We spent 2 hours (!!) just to have few dishes served, when the place wasn't absolutely busy

Wao!!! it’s a pearl. We were just looking for a place to eat something filling after our shopping. When we were waking down the O’Connell St, a guy with a smiley face (head waiter) grabbed our attention while he was serving other tables outside. We never tried Moroccan food before & my friends were bit hesitating at beginning to enter, but then we trusted the waiter. The restaurant was so far busy. So, we decided to sit outside. But we were still undecided when the waitress came for an order. We ordered our drinks with her. Within a minute the head waiter came and asked if we need any help? Finally, we end up ordering a Chicken Saffron, Meat Balls, Harisa Veg and a Special lamb after answering his couple of questions. We informed him, we were starving!!! Within in less than a minute, he came again with a sample of bread and assured rest of the foods are on its way. Meanwhile, we understood, definitely the service making this restaurant very welcoming.

The food arrived; all we ordered came in Taggins (Big clay pot). No soon the leads were removed; we all were amazed by the color and smell of the food. Never seen such a sizzling food in a clay pot! Each and every dish was thoroughly cooked. The head waiter explained the dishes and asked us to dip the bread in the Taggin, he gave us. Yummy! My friend’s fiancé ended up having two bowls of that bread after. Can’t forget the taste! Still tickling my nose! Each and every Taggin is unique and gave us a different taste with that special bread they make. This was the food we were looking for & this was the service we were expecting. Eventually, we got to know this is their second branch and is run buy a famous Moroccan chef in Adelaide. This is a pearl! 100% recommended. Definitely we will be back. .

The flavours in this cuisine are amazing!!! The menu at Marrakech is really diverse and price point is very reasonable for the quality of food. I've been here twice now and would definitely come back. Great service and atmosphere as well.

Simply amazing and unique. After reading all the good reviews ,decided to give it a try so I asked my regular group of friends to go there ,the minute we walked in,the waiter greeted us with such a big warm smile and he directed us to our table,we were all amazed by the decore it s so cozy and unique, then they gave us the menus and start explaining the dishes and we decided to go for the banquets and we glad we did,if I m going to describe the food it will take me hours, everything was amazing and the service was even better,we ll definitely be back soon
Kristy_co
FANTASTIC. As soon as we entered the staff were warm and friendly but still very professional. The atmosphere was lovely and the décor had me looking and commenting " I want one of those in our place'! to just about everything I saw from the light fixtures to the wall art. Even the hand basin in the loo was fantastic!
The food was amazing and plentiful, each course came out one after the other with no waiting time but without being shoved in your face. Our water glasses were filled in a instant each time we emptied them and the waitresses could not have been more helpful and attentive.
Each course was introduced by our waitress and a brief explanation given as to the ingredients and even warning us to be careful because the tagine itself was very hot and not to burn ourselves.
Our experience could not have been better. We will certainly be going there again and taking friends!
A tip jar on the counter was a dead give away when we entered and I noticed it contained $20 and $50 notes.. AS TIPS! I added to the total myself which I have NEVER done before.
We had the stuffed dates (4), dip platter (4 dips and a pile of flat bread), chicken pies (cigars) and salad... (OMG TO DIE FOR), Lamb tagine with dates, almonds, cinnamon and sesame seeds, beef tagine with olives and preserved lemon and cous cous then 2 desserts, the pancakes with fairy floss and icecream and the sweet couscous with the fairy floss and icecream... rounded off with mint tea expertly poured from a GREAT height by our waitress. We shared this between 4 people and we were stuffed and had left overs!
Do yourself a favour and GO!

Went in with fingers crossed it wasn't anything like its partner restaurant in Hyde Park. It's exactly like the Hyde Park location and the food is so bland and flavourless. The waitress seemed a tad bit disinterested and was forgetful. Make sure when you book, that you book for 1 extra person otherwise you'll be as squished as sardines in a can. Not pleasant at all

Excellent Customer Service and Food-Highly Recommended. My wife and I went to the Marrakech restaurant in North Adelaide on a Mydeal scoopon banquet for two. Sometimes with these scoopons the service is not the same and the portion sizes are cut down from the normal menu. Thankfully this was not the case. The customer service was exceptional and the staff very courteous and made sure that our experience was good. I mistakenly ordered the wrong tagine for the main course and they were under no obligation to exchange it. When I pointed it out they immediately changed the tagine and apologised for making the mistake, even though I had made it. The food is excellent and the staff bend over backwards to make sure that your dining experience is a good one. The manager Mohammed personally came over and apologised for giving us the wrong tagine and then loaded us up with lots of mint tea (Yum). I especially liked the touch with the rosewater sprinkled on your hands, it was a nice touch and ending to a great meal. I will definitely be going back to try their extensive menu.
I would seriously give this restaurant 10 out of 10

My new favourite restaurant!! One of the best places I have been to in a long time. The food was divine - the saffron chicken was so tender as was the lamb + prune tagine. I can not recommend this place enough! The service was outstanding - the girls working there have such beautiful personalities and they really care about everything they do. Watching them pour your mint tea at the end of your meal is a must! Highly recommend! :)

I went here two nights ago for my sister's hens night and have to say that this was one of the most memorable dining experiences I have had. We shared the banquet and every single dish from the melt in your mouth stuffed dates, bread with luscious dips including a stand out smoked eggplant dip, and tagines which included vegetarian, seafood, lamb and chicken were all bursting with flavour, complexity and freshness. The desserts were top notch too. Equally memorable was the warm, friendly, family style service with a genuine smile and the staff's knowledge about each dish. We rounded off our meal with a beautiful sweet mint tea dramatically poured at great height by the waitresses. At the end of the night the head waiter gifted my sister with a beautiful tagine too as a wedding gift. Delicious food and wonderful service - what a gem, I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you.

Must Try!!!. Amazing restaurant...I had a celebration with my friends on last Friday. We went with Banquet & enjoyed till last drop. Food was mind-blowing. Especially the bread, so soft and best with the sauce in the sizzling Tagin. Traditional music, wooden floor, couch & colorful shades made the restaurant vibrant. Service was great. Thank you As-if for having us. Keep it up buddy. We will be back soon.

Last night I had dinner at Marrakech, it was my first tasting of Morrocan food and I'm hooked! I had the Lamb Afrah and the Fruit of the Sea. The lamb was so tender and the Fruit of the Sea sauce was divine! I dipped a whole serving of Moroccan bread into the sauce until it was all gone! I was full but had to order dessert, I had the Pancake with creme brulee ice-cream topped with persian fairy floss. I didn't think I had room for it but it was so nice within a minute there was nothing left on the plate! The service was really good and price very reasonable. It's my new favourite place now!

Virgin maroccan. First time for moroccan, and am happy with the experience, good flavours and service great - recommendation would be to remove the prawn tail it makes it difficult and messy when in a dish with lot of juice and they could indicate on the menu gluten free or not

Dinner Friday night was very disappointing especially the lamb tangine which just tasted like boiled meat. Won't be back

Best meal in many months. Saffron Chicken and and on of their lamb dishes. Complete with a bottle of Mitchels Peper Tree Shirah.

Beautifully presented and cooked. Excellent!!

This was one of the loveliest dining experiences I have ever had. I was dining solo on a work trip to Adelaide and the staff at this restaurant are so authentic, friendly and generous. The food was amazing, the lamb was melting in my mouth and the spices were perfectly balanced. The owner brought me a complimentary dessert and it was even more impressive than the main course. Top marks!

One of Nth Adelaide’s Best!. Excellent food and sterling service. I was pretty excited before I walked into this joint, partially because I had heard really good things about this place. On taking our seats, our party of three was taken by the beautiful ambiance of the place. You really do feel like you are on an exotic journey along the Mediterranean, and that’s before the food was brought out. To start we ordered the Mezza platter. the home made dips were so delicious, I would be been satisfied if I tried nothing else that night. But there was more to come.

For mains, our party ordered, the Lamb marinated in traditional spices (cinnamon, honey, prunes, and almonds- yum), the Saffron Chicken, and a Vegetable dish with a side of cous cous. The three of us shared our meals, but my favourite was the lamb dish because it was so tasty. The food throughout was well presented.
We finished with traditional mint tea. I’m more of a coffee drinker, but the tea finished our journey through the Mediterranean.

Our waiter was professional and friendly. I will definitely be back another time.

Amazing restaurant! The .... Amazing restaurant!

The service is exceptional! We felt so welcome from the moment we steppeded foot in. Very friendly table service.

The decor was beautiful and together with the oriental music that was playing, it made me feel like I was actually in Morocco!

The food was beyond amazing!!

The great thing was that unlike most restaurants, Marrakech was open till late and they were willing to extend their closing time simply to provide us good service.

Loved it! Thanks Marrakech for a great night!

The Marrakech experience is a delight of the senses. The food was no less than perfect, with an symphony of flavour, colour and the service will make you feel like royalty.

Awful service. Took 2 hours to get our main. Waitress forgot our drink orders twice. Didn't get to even finish the banquet as it took so long. Food is ok but nothing amazing. Expensive and not worth it.

Moroccan stars. Had a great meal at Marrakech last night. Lovely staff more than happy to explain the content of the dishes and weren't afraid to make recommendations. Go easy on the orders as the serves are generous. We had a dip platter, two entrees and each had a dessert and that was more than adequate. Try the Chilli Mussels, tasty use of fresh herbs balancing the chilli. The Marrakech serves wonderfully fresh and aromatic dishes. I'll be returning.

Had a fantastic meal tonight, delicious food, generous portions which we unfortunately couldn't finish and friendly, attentive service. We will definitely go back.

Best Food Ever. The best food and service you will ever receive, the food is so full of flavour and you will not be disappointed you will need to be rolled out off there. the bread is incredible and it helps to get every drop of flavour left on your plate. The place is stunning with led light candles over each table and the roof full of led light stars. All staff are very friendly and just make your night one to not forget. I give this place a big thumbs up and recommend it to every person i know you will not be disappointed.

We have recently moved to North Adelaide and have started to try a few restaurants along O'Connell st. This is the first one that has really impressed. Food was sensational and the service matched. Asif was our waiter and he really went the extra mile to ensure we had a positive experience. We will definitely dining here again.

Delicious. Enjoyed a great family dinner on Saturday night. We were all made to feel very welcome with exceptional service. The kids were spoilt too and given complimentary cheese bread and icecream. All the dishes we had were full of flavour and delicious!

Moroccan North Adelaide July 31, 2014 I've been to a restaurant by this name before, but it definitely wasn't in North Adelaide. Turns out this restaurant is another outlet owned by the same people as the one in Hyde Park. Tanjia 4/10 Lamb cooked until tender with herbs, spices, olives & preserved lemon. I'm told it has no coriander, but when it arrives, it has coriander on it. They gladly bring me a new one a few minutes later. The meat isn't amazingly tasty, but it is soft, and nicely cooked. However, other than the meat, there's not really anything else in this dish—just a few olives. The bread is slightly sweet, and very fluffy. It's in stumpy pieces, however, and these can't actually pick anything up. All I can do is soak up juice from the main dish. After a while, I just don't want to eat any more chewy meat nor do I want to use the bread to mop up lightly-flavoured juice.

The venue doesn’t appear to be as large as the Hyde Park store and there is a feeling of being cramped by the number of chairs and tables that they’ve tried to fit into the front section. There’s not as much decor as the other restaurant, however, the background music and dim lighting still add to the ambience.
