Today was my third time at your business and i was beyond impressed yet again. Finding a place that is consistently good is rare. To top it all off we had wonderful service from a young guy who was cheery and helpful for the early morning! The coffee is always on point and made to perfection. I ordered the kind of "make your own brekky" option, and the mushrooms and eggs were extremely flavoursome, i did not need any tomato sauce to kill the flavour because it tasted that amazing. Kudos to still being amazing & also being reasonably priced! Definitely at the top of my favourite breakfast places to go. Keep it up xx
I tell you what, I've personally been to many cafes in adelaide and this place is definitely a hidden gem.
Being a barista and a former cafe owner I definitely recommend getting your coffee here if you live local, if not the travel will be worth it i promise.
The food was absolutely sensational, I ordered the Haloume buger. Everything was presented perfectly.
Everything they use is local, more importantly the service was so warming. Talk about first impressions.
The music was mesmerising, played a whole lot of different before 90s. What caught me was the beatles.
I live quite close and I can safely say that this is my new cafe.
Thankyou again for such great food and service. Coffee 9/10 Food 9/10
Awesome food and Great service. Every time we eat here the food is top notch..so full of flavour..delish!!!! And staff very accommodating and happy. Highly recommend. Great range of wholesome dishes, some really different ones too.
Could not fault this great venue,
Excellent service & food at a very reasonable price point,we had 4 different meals and they were all thoroughly enjoyed. Quality house made food with many interesting options, love that you can get a beer with your breakfast/brunch/lunch!
We will be back for sure
Been to so many cafes but there's always a reason to return to Mister Sunshine! Ocean trout was my go to brunch during my every visit but they've changed the menu a bit replacing it with mackerel and they never fail to enlighten me! They pay attention to every single detail on the plate, all the elements were cooked and seasoned so perfectly! The staffs are so friendly and warming all the time! I like how they're always pretty consistent with their cooking!
Have been coming to this amazing place pretty much every weekend for almost 3 years. By far the best coffee, breakfast and the staff are just wonderful. Love it! Highly recommend
Always a great place for a delicious meal and sublime coffee. Absolutely full after a fabulous Reuben sandwich and salad, this place never disappoints. And a bonus was being waited on by the lovely and witty Laura.
Funky little place hidden in industrial suburbia.. great breakfast & coffee.. will definitely be back
Food & coffee excellent! The menu is different, but they didn’t just add stuff to sound hippy! Mackerel dish and the brisket were both great!
Little hidden gem! We stopped in for Brunch & it was great food, service & atmosphere :) Was our first time there and definitely won't be our last xx
I had the best brunch here and will definitely return!!! The mushrooms with jus were amazing! The staff were also so lovely! Outside blankets were also a nice touch!
Best food, best service, best place ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cosy and friendly. Great coffee and breakfast.
Can get wrong choice here. Tried many on the menu and all are delicious. Also, kind staff as they can remember me on the 3rd came here.
Beautiful breakfast for beautiful day, u won't regret to try this spot
Staffs are friendly and enthusiastic, seeking feedback from ask when we checked out. We ordered coffee and smashed avocado and sautéed mushroom two meal dishes, the tastes are absolutely beautiful, but just steep prices compared to other brunch places and they raised the price for all the dishes. The foods are amazing without doubt!
Situated in an industrial area, and I wouldn't have expected to find food like this here. Fresh, vibrant and tasty.
A far cry from the usual counterparts I have always found in similar areas. You know the greasy eggs and bacon, on soggy, white tip top toast.
Yes the complete opposite. Moreover, if you feel like a sweet something or something else not recommended to eat regularly. Well they have that too.
Great location.
Great service.
Great tucker (& coffee)!
Great atmosphere.
Very welcoming.
I’ll be back - secretly want to keep this venue to myself.
I had their miso pork belly special for lunch and it was beautiful! The miso sauce just works with the pork belly (and the rest of the meal). Price was a bit steep for $21 but that's how much you pay nowadays for this type of meal. Coffee was also great, light with no aftertaste. This may be my first time in Adelaide but I have found a favourite spot
This place has come a long way since it’s opened. One things for sure, the coffees always been great here. Food and treats are clean and delicious. Service has always been great. The peri peri chicken was delicious! Brekkie was enjoyable. Coffee is strong, rich and I’ll continually be back for more ☕️ 😉
I LOVE THIS PLACE! Visited it for the first time and was absolutely delighted!
Mister Sunshine’s is a cute little cafe in Thebarton. The outdoor seating is perfect. It makes every moment of your moment enjoyable since its situated in a quiet suburb. The decor is minimalistic but speaks for itself. A few heaters in the outdoor seating area could help a bit. This place is super crowded specially during the weekends. Once i went in and tried the food, the crowd was totally justified.
The staff is so friendly and lovely. Always smiling, offering impeccable service.
The coffee is so good! Tried the cappucino and the latte. Ended up having two of each because they were SO good.
Also tried the Halloumi burger. I haven’t eaten something so delish before. Perfectly fried halloumi, pickled cabbage, rocket, roasted mushrooms and a soft bun. The taste of the burger was on point. A bit steep for $18 but its big enough to share and still feel full.
The menu is quite vast and they have a lot of options for everyone.
I cant wait to visit again and try other things on the menu. :)
🍽️: Pulled pork bun special, Lamb pita, Smoked Mackerel with poached eggs
👍: Great presentation! Flavour combinations works really well together, not just for show
👎: Inside seating can be little stuffy, very close to the kitchen
📝: Quite busy on weekends, lovely outdoor seating
This place was amazing. Small so go on a warm day as you might have to sit outside. Parking is a bit tough. Aside that its great food and service, awesome atmosphere and music. Definitely going back.
Love it here! Perfect place to meet with friends for brunch! They do these chocolate coconut bliss balls and they are just Devine! Staff are always lovely too!
Walking into Mr Sunshine remind me of cafes in Melbourne on Brunswick St. Casual and chic! The waiting staff members are incredibly friendly and polite. You can't make reservations but the wait certainly isn't long. Delicious and heart breakfast is how I'd describe their menu. I tried their pumpkin fritters and was pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted! I expected fried fritters but instead the pumpkin was only lightly fried with seasoning , beetroot , poached eggs and spiced nuts. Will definitely be heading back here
Still love coming here! Still ultra happy, friendly staff, still brilliant coffee. I feel good just walking into the place. The food is still really inviting.
This place seemed totally random on an industrial area. It was near our accomodation though. It looks very lovely with a big shaded terrace. Service was very friendly and even wrote down a list of other cafes we could go to during the rest of our stay. Coffees were good. Food was good too. We had the pumpkin fritters and the mushrooms. Both could do with a bit more seasoning. But overall brilliant cafe!
First off the workers here are complete legends so friendly and quirky they make you feel comfortable the second you walk in. The appearance is so great, it’s completely decked out with retro furniture. I have the French toast and it was so tasty I wish there could have been more. Downside to the place is pricing is expensive but is very on par with most hipster spots in adelaide that are similar.
Had an awesome time and awesome meal
Cute set up with indoor and outdoor seating. Bit of a wait when we arrived for Sunday breakfast. Offered a coffee and a menu while we waited for a table. Located in a street dotted with street art and sculptures.
Coffee to start and then scrambled eggs with mushrooms on toast. Bit cramped but food was good and we bought a muffin for the road trip to the Barossa. All in all a decent little place with all food made on site.
Mister Sunshine’s is a slice of Melbourne in Adelaide. Barista and waitstaffs of the hipster-type - beards and/or plaid shirts, but with personality that are as bright and cheery as sunshine. The potted plants, wooden tables, and miscellaneous vintage and kooky decor all add to the vibe that would not be out of place at Fitzroy or Brunswick in Melbourne.
Our skinny latte was overall pretty good, but I would have prefer something stronger, and also in a slightly bigger cup. The cup used seemed to be a tad smaller than usual, or it could just be me.
The food took some time to come out (we must have arrived just when everyone else decided to put in their order or the small kitchen just can’t cope with a full house) but when we took our first bite, all was forgiven. The sautéed field mushrooms was absolutely delicious, and so was the curried cauliflower soup. The thick, fluffy yet crispy and buttery toasts that came with our meals deserved a special mention, and an honorary mention goes to the runny yolk from the perfectly poached eggs. So much deliciousness in such simple pleasures.
Fresh, flavoursome food. YYUM.suI'm so stoked with how well Adelaide is doing breaky at the moment & Mister Sunshine's is one of the top tier. Went here for brunch last week and was able to sit outside in the glorious sunshine (fitting).
I had smoked trout with FRESH peas (not frozen!!!What a difference it makes), radish, a beetroot puree & a poached egg. Tied together amazingly and there's so many other things I'd have loved to try. Great destination breaky spot, clear these guys love what they do.
Soo good. I would be in everyday if I didn't live so far away! Fantastic customer service. A bunch of lovely people. Atmosphere and vibe is amazing. thank you mister sunshines 🌞
Best smashed Avo 👌🏼 great juices and great vibe.. only reason I didn't rate 5 stars is parking can be a problem. Highly recommend especially on a nice day sitting outside
Very busy, which is always a good sign. We did have to wait for 30 mins for a seat and noticed a couple went in before us, which i had to advise them of. Think that needs to be managed a bit better.... once we got the food 30 mins later after being seated, was very nice, tasty and fresh. I would absolutely go there again if i didn't need to wait for a seat/half an hour for breakfast.
I came here on a Friday morning, and it wasn't too busy; parking on the streets is also easy! The staff here are all so friendly; they kept coming to check on us and tried their best to make everything easy for us. My friend and I studied here for 3+ hours, and they were so kind to us, we didn't feel unwelcomed at all despite how long we were there! I ordered the smashed avocado from the vegan menu with the mushrooms; I usually find sourdough bread really tough to cut into, and gets hard quickly, but here, it was super soft yet still nicely toasted the whole meal, and it was thick too! There was a generous serving of avocado, and the seeds and nuts, along with the seasoning/dressing added a whole new dimension to the mushrooms- it added a nice texture too! One of my favourite smash avos in Adelaide for sure!
Finally got a chance to try this place out when I was in the area, and I was not disappointed! It's got a great atmosphere, fantastic service and best of all, delicious food. The halloumi is gorgeous and not too salty, they have delicious coffees and teas, and lots of vegan and vegetarian options as well. They have all the classics like toast and eggs, as well as some really tasty breakfast sandwiches and burgers. I can't wait to try out everything else on the menu. I have a new restaurant to add to my list of favourite breakfast spots in Adelaide!
Mister Sunshine's is an all-time favourite brunch spot of mine. The food is not only incredible, but the staff are always super friendly and the 1960s decor creates a trendy but homely ambience. There is both indoor and outdoor sitting areas, but be prepared to wait in queue for a few minutes until a table frees up. Another massive bonus of Mister Sunshine's is their super tasty vegan menu which allows for the full brunch experience without the animal product.
If you're looking for a quick coffee on the way to work don't go here. It's always a very long wait for coffee even when there's no one else waiting. But if you're looking for a delicious weekend brunch this is your place (make sure you're prepared for a bit of a wait though!)
Amazing brunch spot! Perfect atmosphere with plenty of seating. I had the sandwiched French toast which was fantastic, unique and super filling. All meals were of a good serving size for the price which can be rare these days! Will definitely be back and recommend to friends
This is a very busy place in industrial Thebarton just a few minutes from Adelaide's CBD. It is yet another place with a retro fit out, mismatched everything, and aiming at the hipster customer. We were given a smile on arrival but apart from that there was no customer service to speak of. We ordered coffees when we sat down and they took nearly 10 minutes to arrive. The meals were ordered from a very ordinary menu were nothing to get excited about - especially at the price. The coffee was okay and we would have ordered a second round and more food but when the plates were taken away, we were not asked and at no time did staff come to our table again. Very disappointing considering the reviews this place gets.
Obviously very popular and has seating outside.
Summary: service average, food average and overpriced, coffee good, location good but parking is a nightmare - 2 hour parks on the street but be prepared to walk a way. Worth a try? Yes but personally I would not go back again.
Awesome attentive staff, quality food and good prices. Love the decor and outdoor seating area, awesome background music, our favourite brunch spot all year round. Mister Sunshine, if you're reading this, BRING BACK THE STEAK SANDWICH!
Loved the gourmet lunch ! We went out to this hidden cafe for a team lunch and the burgers were incredible ! Love the selection and coffee too. We will be back for sure.
I had a latte, juice (blood orange, apple and spinach) and the house made beans with chorizo and poached egg. Absolutely delicious. The decor is a little cheap and nasty looking but thankfully the food exceeded expectations. I will definitely be back.
Anyone eating here can find something they like on the menu. Their freshly made juice is incredible! Would love to see more desserts available at the counter to have with coffee.
Friendly staff and great coffee and meal!! I thought this coffee shop is SA the most best one. This coffee shop small but comfortable, you can have everything you want at here.
Love this place. Live down the road so come often. Delicious coffee and food is awesome. Haloumi sandwich is massive and only $11. Nice outdoor seating area, dog friendly and staff are really nice.
Great little brunch spot with consistently good coffee. A little pricey but the portions are generous so I'm happy to pay it. Service can often be a little slow, but the staff are always super friendly, and I'll gladly keep returning here for the comfortable, happy atmosphere, and delicious food.
Really lovely little spot that hits the absolute spot for brunch and with a name like Mister Sunshine just makes u happy! The service is lovely, the decor, the furniture, paintings & crockery is sweet and has the grandma's house feel which brings comfort I think.
Food is a small menu with great options. I had the smashed avo w/ poached eggs, feta & almonds with a side of chorizo and the flavours 2getha just pack that punch and crunch u need! Lovely space to sit outside on a nice day too. Will be back 👍
Poppy had brunch at Mister Sunshines today. He had the poached eggs on ciabatta bread with smashed avocado, spicy chorizo, Fetta and smashed almonds. It was delicious! Service was great, fitout was cool. Low key location however prices on the higher side for what you get. My Dish in the photo was $23. Thumb up worth an eat and will be back 👍
Yep, it's good! Handy being just across from the Wheatsheaf. Best beer pub in Adelaide. The best service and a fantastic place to show off Adelaide by taking someone from interstate out for lunch. Busy as!
After seeing instagram photos, my friend and I decided to try mister Sunshine's for brekkie. Staff were friendly, although we felt like we were rushed to order as she came back literally like a minute after we got the menu and asked 'are you guys ready to order'. Food was good! We both ordered the smashed avo with poached eggs and haloumi! Serving size was generous, my friend could only eat half of hers! Coffee was nice too.
This is the second time I have been here and I love it! I brought my wife this time and she loved it too. Lovely atmosphere, excellent service (including getting the meal fast) and even though the food is simple, it is so so tasty and presented beautifully. We ate the bacon and egg sandwich with chilli jam, the slow roasted lamb with feta and pinenuts on pita bread, and finished with sharing a chocolate milkshake (YUM). We also had some small requests with our order that could have been turned down, but they kindly did them for us with no hesitation. I would highly recommend Mister Sunshine's and will definitely be going back!
I can't believe it that I haven't write a review when I've been here a million times. One of my favourite brekky/brunch place -not far from city. Plenty of parking around side streets. Cosy cafe with retro furniture. Beautiful outdoor seating area for summer.
Services - friendly staffs all the time. Food and drinks are serve pretty fast even though they are packed.
Food - serving here is generous and worth the value. I love their presentation when they serve the sandwiches and burgers - a knife stab right in the middle.
My fav dish - the haloumi and tomato sandwich with hommus is the winner for brekky. Brunch I would suggest their pulled pork burger served with spiced corn chips. The pork is dressed with their very own perfect house made bbq sauce. Soft brioche bun with tender and melty meat in the middle - yummmm. Vegan diners - not a problem, there are a number of options on the vegan page.
Heard some good reviews on their sweet dish - French toast but I'm yet to try them. Presentation look stunning with orange blossom floss on top of the toast. More sweet treats like cakes, brownies and etc. are available at their glass display.
Drinks - good and strong coffee served here. Summertime - iced latte and their juices & smoothies are really good. Try their green smoothie - it tastes delicious, it's special and yet healthy.
This cafe is definitely highly recommended.
Had the smashed avocado & a green juice......delicious!! Lovely casual, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and child friendly. Will definitely come here again :)
Great little breakfast spot. I had the Nutella French toast- came with a generous amount of berries, marscapone cheese, crumble, a nice layer of nutella on one of the pieces of bread, and topped with orange flavoured fairy floss. Good value for money for French Toast. Loved it! We sat inside on the bench near the window as it was raining outside, but I imagine on a sunny day sitting outside in their garden area would be lovely too. Coffee was okay, but nothing to rave about. My partner and I both had Mochas- they were a bit powdery and not chocolatey enough for me. Apart from that everything else was great. Would definitely reccommend.
It's like walking into someone's cosy house when you enter Mr. Sunshine at 32 George Street, Thebarton. The Café is decked out in retro style furniture and it smells like freshly cooked food. We visited for breakfast and ordered the Minced Mushrooms on rye sour dough toast with poached eggs and blanched spinach and the Pan Fried Chorizo with poached eggs, blanched spinach and rye sourdough toast as well as the Scrambled Eggs with chorizo, tomato, blanched spinach and toast and a freshly squeezed apple, watermelon and mint juice.
April 26, 2016 By She Said What in Food & Drink Tags: Adelaide, breakfast spot, food, lazy sunday, review Leave a comment. Like an extra chicken mcnugget in your 6 pack, getting an extra day on the weekend really is total bliss. With a friend home from interstate, a catchup brunch with the girls was a must. We found ourselves rolling into Mister Sunshine’s because it’d been on my breakfast hit-list for quite some time and I don’t care where anyone else wants to go. I’d say “just kidding” but we all know I’m not. #sorrynotsorry
love it, staff are super happy and it shows in the food. been there twice now for lunch and it has not disappointed. a little gem hidden away. yum.
This gem of a cafe hidden in the back streets of Thebarton is a weekday bunch staple for myself and my friends. The food is delicious, portion sizes are great for the price without being overly expensive. Staff are friendly and not overbearing, even thought they can be quite busy at times. Don't worry that you feel like you're not trendy enough to fit in and forgive the mismatched crockery, it's all part of the charm. The poached eggs are good. Toasted haloumi and tomato sandwich was so good and filling- a perfect lunchtime option. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available, perfect for sunny days
Humble and laid back cafe with an extensive outdoor area. One of a kind. Come here if: you need a short break from the constant rush in The CBD, want to be able to hear the person you're conversing with without raising your voices and/or you just like the name Mister Sunshine.
Had the pulled pork burger, haloumi burger and French toast. Been here three times, and each time I leave with a satisfied tummy. The French toast here is brilliant - could really taste the eggs, which is masked in many places offering French toast. Partner loved the pulled pork burger (he's a meat eater). Pity they don't serve chips with their burger.
Nestled on the side of a quite street, this little vegan gem is an absolute delight for its diners. Enjoyed having my halloumi burger. Good service and attentive staffs.

cute little hidden gem in the side streets of thebarton! great breakfast and lunch dishes and always friendly stuff and the outside part is animal friendly too!
Incredibly busy in a weekend morning, had to wait about 39mins for a table. Otherwise ince seated great service and food quick to arrive. Good central spot to ctach up over good food.
If you like a bit of crunch in your breakfast, go for the smashed avo. It comes with a handful of crushed nuts on top, perfectly complementing the creamy avocado mash and poached egg (which you MUST add). Coffee is delicious and the vibe is young, fun, quirky and relaxed.
Two words - minced mushrooms. Easily my favourite dish off the menu. Mister Sunshine's always gives me that warm nostalgic feeling, especially when I look down at the cutlery and glassware and realise it's exactly the same as what was in my nonna's kitchen circa 1980s. There's nothing pretentious about this place, I love the porcelain flying ducks mounted on the walls to the framed landscaped paintings of yesteryear. The coffee is pretty good and the bacon and egg sandwich is a decent feed. It's always been packed every time I've been there, but magically we always have managed to score a table. The staff are incredibly attentive and cheerful; they genuinely look like they enjoy working there. Great place for breakfast or brunch.
I was greeted the moment I walked in by the super friendly owner. Great coffee. Food is very fresh and delicious. Excellent service, would come back very soon.
Great place for breakfat and lunch or just to enjoy a nice cofee.
Very cool staff and nice spot.
I've been there few times and they're children's friendly
Went here for a leisurely breakfast with the husband recently. Whilst the place was packed, we had some very friendly wait staff find us a seat next to some equally friendly diners. I ordered the haloumi burger (so good, would order again), my husband ordered the pulled pork burger (he said it was like over-dressed kfc coleslaw in a bun but I tried it and loved it). The service was attentive and energetic, and the food, coffee and other drinks were lovely. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and stayed sipping coffees and juices for a couple hours whilst enjoying watching the hilarious hippies and hipsters come and go :)
Mr Sunshines's is most definitely a culinary pocketful of sunshine in the drab industrial confines of Thebarton. And they're wonderfully hipster. From staff to furniture: the dude brewing coffee flaunts his luscious dreads, waitresses in their classic vintage hipster glasses, nature paintings mismatchfully dot the wall, the tables/chairs look like something from a 70s movie, tea pots, bits and bobs are scattered around while the bright yellow umbrella and door means they mean business. Though simple, food execution is high and gleefully cheap with the majority of menu items < $15. I devoured the carnivorous steak sandwich add haloumi, and though it was a little too oily, tasted fantastic plus filled me full.
Been here a few times now. Good food, good coffee, good serving sizes with great service to go along with it. Have had the Minced Mushrooms and bacon and egg sandwich. Both tasty. I'm just waiting for them to put a beef burger on their menu.

Breakfast was good and coffee was really consistent!
Portion size I think was really good and it tastes good as well. Only thing I'd say Is that it came out a bit cold.
Coffee was pretty good as well, presentation was below average but it came back with its taste. Very drinkable and although I ended up having 3 coffees they all tasted the same. So good work there.
Decor... I'm not sure if it's only me but I'm really hating this hipster look. Felt as if it brings a cheap look and it seems that they didn't care too much about the look of the place. Also there's more money to be made if the rearranged the seating and gave it a second thought
Overall. Was good, probably would come here again.
Coffee
This is an odd little place. Traffic quite full on at times but it somehow maintains it ambience. Coffee delicious consistently. Have had really good food, however once asked for toast which came fried....perhaps just toasted would have been fine. Service really good if not slightly over the top at times!
A comfortable, relaxed space, very friendly and thorough staff, great coffee and the food was out in a flash! Phwoar! That haloumi burger! Will be back regularly

I like the atmosphere, decor & the food options. And although the ingredients are fresh, I would have to rate it as good, but nothing to travel for. Will go back if I'm in the area though.
Good food. Good coffee. And it doesn't hurt that we live nearby. But it's the service that brings us back again and again. The guy who runs this place may be the friendliest man in South Australia - always smiling, always attentive, he's the real Mister Sunshine.
Friendliest people in the world. With food that is equally as wonderful this makes for a fab lunch or brunch spot you want to make your usual. Coffee was okay.
How should I bring my baby in?: Probably not much room for a pram inside but you'd be fine to sit outside with one. Capsule or carry the kid in :)
Great brunch place! Tucked away in a largely industrial area, this place does an awesome breakfast. The haloumi burger was delicious with mince mushroom and pickled cabbage. My partner had the house beans and they were also really good. I've had the French toast on another occasion and it wasn't for me as it was a bit too "healthy" tasting! But maybe suits someone else's taste. It's busy, but the service is exceptional and they try to seat you quickly. Large outside eating area under a big gum tree as well. Will keep coming back and recommending to friends.
Went on Tues for brunch, the place is easy to find but hard to get parking. We had to sit outdoor since it's full inside. 20°C is not bad when it's sunny but we're on constant lookout for possible extra ingredients onto our food/drink from the trees. Coffee is average. Nothing really stood out from the menu, the usual toast, muesli, burger, salad & etc. Food was mediocre too. The staff is really friendly. If I'm around the area & needing food, I don't mind to go back but definitely not driving all the way.
Cute little place, fantastic friendly service. Big serves of delicious food. We couldn't finish our meals. Fresh juice was yum. Coffee was ok.
Seriously the happiest and friendliest staff. And the food is all really good too.
Acoustics are not great, so don't opt to eat inside if you're hungover.
I love this place. Seriously good coffee, absolutely delicious food, cute fit-out, reasonable prices, and the friendliest staff you'll ever find.
Had brunch here during the week and was absolutely delightful. We had French toast & minced mushrooms and were not disappointed with either dish absolutely delicious and portions sizes very reasonable. The coffees we had, macchiato & latte, spot on and service couldn't have been lovelier. The fit out retro, funky & homely definitely worth a visit
This a hip little cafe which brings a very welcome warmth and sense of humanity to a predominantly boring and cold industrial area.
I have only been here twice - once for a coffee and once for a take away burger.
The coffee was great and the haloumi burger was good. I really enjoyed the minced mushrooms in the burger, however, I would have preferred the haloumi to have been cut a little thicker if it's going to be the star of the show.
The staff were really friendly and helpful and the decor evokes a relaxing vibe.
I look forward to visiting again for a proper breakfast.
Surrounded by an industrial area you’ll find Mister Sunshine – you don’t have to look too hard as you’ll see it filled out with people sitting outside even in winter. Sorry C but I forced him to give up our sunny table for one in the shade – all in the name for a good photo :P
Myself and two girlfriends visited Mr Sunshine's for an early lunch, around 11am. We were greeted with a warm welcome, and attended to promptly (but certainly not pushy). After looking over the small but tempting menu, we each ordered a burger (2x chicken 1x haloumi). It came out fairly quickly, and we devoured them. After demolishing our food, we chatted, were brought more water, and chatted some more. An hour and a half later, we ordered hot chocolates and sampled the sweet treats. The staff were attentive, but in no way did we feel like they were wanting us to leave, even when we were chatting. There was a lovely feel about the place, with books provided for entertaining little ones, and communal seating by the windows. Warm and familiar, just like sunshine.
Amazing coffee and great menu choices, also fantastic options for my gluten intolerant friend. Love the alternate hipster vibe. Will be back for sure!
Came here for a Saturday lunch with the Boyf & the dog and have not had such an enjoyable experience for a while!
Nestled in the streets of Thebarton (right near the Wheatsheaf) is the Adorable & unassuming Mister Sunshine's. Open for a year, the place was full, popularity booming in Adelaide's craving for great cafes.
Service was up there with the best. Attentive, eager and friendly staff walked you through the all day menu that they offer of breakfast & lunch meals.
They quickly brought out some water for our dog & took our order for a banana smoothie and latte. The banana smoothie was obviously made with REAL NANAS! And the coffee was great according to my coffee snob boyf.
We both had the steak sandwich and it was spot on. The provolone cheese was fragrant, perfect with the caramelised onion and added a lot of flavour to the steak, which was nicely cooked and easy to eat.
The portions are great also. Not so ridiculously big that you fee stuffed when you walk away, but you're definitely not hungry.
We bought a raspberry & white choc muffin to take away which was moist (in a good way), rich and well balanced. Loooooove!!
We loved our visit and will definitely be back!
Unassuming. My favourite hipster cafe. Good food, good price, good portion sizes. Lovely people, love the cheery (and slightly quirky) service.
Just brilliant! The breakfast and lunch menus change with the seasons so your food is always fresh and full of flavour. The coffee is great and the staff are so lovely. I love the minced mushrooms and mushroom burger.
What a happy place. A fitting name for a cafe that expresses great character. The quaint decor makes you feel like you have walked back in time to where your grandparents grew up, a dated feel that is simple and cosy. The happy nature of the staff make you feel welcome and as if you had been a regular for a while. The menu is a good selection of quality but simple food. The coffee was quite good. Make the effort to find this one!
Top notch joint, a much needed addition to George Street. Fair prices, great food and drink and "excellent" does not even begin to accurately describe the level of service at Mister Sunshine's!!
4.5 rating, would have received 5 if I could buy beer.
