Review 82 Thai Eatery - Adelaide

This is the most yammy phatai, scallop and beef curry ever I had. I strongly recommend this beautifully presented 82 thai eatery restaurant to you. please enjoy it.

Small eatery tucked away in grange but it has a really nice atmosphere. I loved their satay chicken and pad Thai, it’s was absolutely delicious. If you’re in the area, they’re definitely worth a try.

There is a busy yet charming ambience to this 40-cover Thai restaurant at the beach end of Grange Road. The food itself was tasty and fragrant, and pretty to look at. The recipes were authentic, the ingredients fresh and treated with care and respect. The service was friendly, and despite an almost full house, always available at hand. A most pleasant experience. Thank you.

My husband and I enjoyed the authentic Thai food very much. We will go back again. The decor is average, but that's not what you pay for, good food always trumps that.

Amazing, fresh, authentic Thai food. The chef and wait staff went above and beyond to cater to us being vegan. Can’t wait to come back.

Myself and my family love this place. Significantly good Thai food at a reasonable price.

What a great find! Always drive past and see it busy so we booked in today for a birthday dinner. The service was fast and the food was delicious and fresh. Great local eatery to check out for yourself as a couple or even a small group. Bonus with parking at rear. Would defiantly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat. Can’t wait to go back

Great service, great meals, great taste, you won’t be disappointed!

Best Thai restaurant I have ever been to. Took two of my friends there right after Covid restrictions were lifted. There service and taste of their dishes have not dropped off. Just simply devine. My all time favourite is Salmon in choo chee sauce.

To say we were disappointed by this experience really doesn’t even begin to describe our feelings. $75 for what might reasonably only serve 1 1/2 people. Honestly the best thing about the meal was the sea star dumplings. Then we go downhill after that. The serving sizes are measly. Two small pieces of roti bread, barely a bite each. A bland pad thai that filled two thirds of the container and a small rice. The biggest insult of the whole meal was the salmon red curry. Hang on, it wasn’t a curry, it was a soup. And there was a SINGLE piece of salmon in there that would have cost maybe $5 at the fish counter to purchase. No vegetables and a watery sauce. NOT good value. It’s hard to appreciate any flavour of food when you’ve paid $75 for perhaps $30 worth of food. Had we been at the restaurant we most definitely would have had words with the wait staff and duty manager. They say the most popularly spread reviews are the negative ones, that we’ll see. Based on the fact it has been recommended by friends there is NO way I would be recommending your restaurant to anyone, letalone my friends. Yes I’m really disappointed.

I go there for the best beef massamam. There are a lot of beef chunks in it and the taste is divine. The green vegetable stir fry is surprisingly nice too.

We came to Eighty Two Thai Eatery midweek for dinner and were lucky to get a last minute booking. I ordered the Beef Massaman Curry and it was incredibly tender and tasted amazing! The dishes were served on lovely modern crockery making a not so pretty curry visually more elegant. So filling but so tasty... i rolled out of there..

Delicious Thai. We had the coconut scallop entree (to die for) the main salmon and pork belly. All was so tasty we can’t wait to return 😊😊😊👍🏼😊

I’ve been meaning to try this place for so long! Wish I had gone sooner. The place is great. Good service. Most importantly the food was lovely. I enjoyed all the dishes we shared. Good value, great place to catch-up with friends.

Yeah this place deserves more than a 3.6! Very traditional food, tasty and light. Great service with a nice relaxed vibe inside. We had the curry dumplings for entree- the curry sauce was amazing. The beef salad had fresh mint that added a lovely fresh flavour and the beef itself was so tender. The pad Thai was delicious and chicken the same- crispy and tasty with a light sauce that wasnt too salty. This place is highly recommended in my books. Cant wait to go back and try more savoury dishes plus a delicious dessert (they looked amazing passing by me)

Ate here for lunch & restaurant was fairly quiet. Although meal was reasonable in general, it lacked any wow factor in terms of great their flavours. Attempting to attract locals with dollars rather than authentic Thai I feel.

Wow! This could be classed as fine dining by the quality of food. Laid back cafe-like restaurant that serves amazing dishes. 5 stars doesn't do this place justice.

Dined on V'Day and had the Green Chicken Curry, Green Apple Barramundi, Pad Thai and some steamed rice. I'd highly recommend ordering the Barramundi - it was so fresh and it tasted amazing! Service was great and food came quickly. Stuffed myself happy and took a walk down Henley Beach thereafter :) will be back!

I will keep coming back, again and again. Great little place and every dish I have tried has such fresh and authentic flavor. I cannot go past the Choo Chee Salmon.

One of my favourite Thai restaurants!
Value for money. Food is tasty! We had the Prawn and chicken dumplings.. Absolutely loved The crunchy barramundi with green mango and salmon choo chee. The Massaman beef curry is a must try!! Pity their dessert range consist of two dishes.

This place is a true little gem, for many reasons. First of all, it's just nice, clean, presentable, nothing too fancy but very inviting. The staff are really lovely and efficient. But above all, the food is consistent, fresh and delicious. Too many dishes to single out, just go and try them. I can't wait to be back!

Loved it!!!! Everything was amazing. This will now be my local Thai place. The Choo Chee was delish as well as the scallop entree. Can't wait to come back.

Food was good however our dining experience was let down by the customer service. .or should i say lack of it! Tried here because of good reviews and i used my entertainment book. .maybe thats why weren't looked after very well. ..pretty much ignored all night 😕
Amazing authentic Thai experience! Chose the 2 course banquet... Very generous and was stuffed by the end... Every dish was popping with freshness and flavour, so authentic with those flavours that make your mouth salivate like a tap even when you're full to the brim. Excellent sea stars, massaman, pad Thai, cold rolls but everything was a total winner. Will return +++ but make sure you book in advance

Protip: Make a reservation! We hit this place on a Tuesday evening and the entire place was booked out. Good thing we were in before the rush hour dinner service otherwise we wouldn't have gotten a table, we kept seeing groups after groups being turned away because it was all booked out. We were even given a strict hour to eat and then the host gave us a bill straight away on the table to usher us out. Fair enough.

Food was pretty good. There is a wide selection of beers, in particular South East Asian beers which was nice. I got the rice paper wraps for entree which was a refreshing mouthful of coriander, mint, veg and your usual thai ingredients. Don't get it if you're not a fan of coriander as it gets a bit heavy. For mains, I got the chicken salad dish. It was absolutely heaven. There was a generous serving of very tender chicken breast that was beautifully marinated with a lovely thai sauce. If I could order the same dish three times over I would in a heartbeat.

Overall, would definitely return, but would book in advance!

Protip #2: This place is dog friendly too, there was a cute pup lounging outside with a bowl of water while its owners dined inside.

This cafe has changed a lot since it first opened. We only go for dinner or to get takeaway on a Friday night. If you do want to dine in make sure you book well ahead as it is only quite small and doesn't hold more than about 40 people dining in. Stand outs on the menu include the dumplings (formerly called sea stars), scallops with chilli sambal, massaman beef and the coconut chicken. Unfortunately because they are so busy with take away orders sometimes those dining in are forgotten. In saying that the staff do the best they can and the food is that delicious that you'll want to eat their food again. Take note that some menu items are only available when dining in. We will be back.

Great food, great service. Definitely worth a visit. A good selection of wine and beer for a small restaurant. Will be back many times in the future.

Excellent! Surprisingly good. Only because it's located in a not-so-obvious place and you don't seem to hear anything about it. Wandered in there for a lite meal after the beach and was glad we did. The food is delicious and the ambience and service is great. Very comfortable and not overly pricey. Definitely going back and would recommend.

Just had a birthday lunch with Garry and ate the most delicious lunch we have ever experienced. Service was attentive, quick and courteous, with exquisite flavors. When you go there, try their grilled scallops! - Best Thai restaurant in SA

Garry & Yvonne

The best thai restaurant in the western suburbs and its no wonder the place is often full and the take away counter always lined with people, excellent variety of thai dishes prepared fresh and wonderful tasting. Staff are always polite with smiling faces and good presentation of dishes. I hope not to many people read this as once they get a taste I will never get a table.

Best Thai Food. This is on the way to the Grange beach on Grange Road. I usually walk to the beach and lately I have been noticing this place buzzing in the evenings. Previous to this it was just an ordinary lunch time cafe serving pretty poor burgers. So for the place to be opened at night and with so many people dining, I was curious to check it out. On my way back from work and shopping just went in. They are now serving breakfast and lunch with a Thai influence and then dinner all Thai. June the owner was very friendly and I sat down to have a trial lunch, something light i thought. So ordered the beef on pitta bread. O my that was sooo delish. It was a open pita bread and a fresh salad and topped with this beef that just was so tender and full of flavour. It was really something else, But more than anything I loved the energy and friendliness of June. So dragged my husband out there for dinner. He is not a fan of Thai food, as he does not like the sweetness of some dishes. I think most times the failure of Thai Restaurants are that they try to make it for the Australian pallet and style. They try to please everyone by making it more like Chinese food and ends up being rather ordinary. So I didnt tell him what they served and we got there at 8.45 as we had more shopping to do, They normally close their kitchen by 9.00 and close the restaurant by 9.30. Well they didnt mind all that. We left at 10.30 and June just chatted with us till we finished our wine and the amazing Coconut Ice cream. Sauces in each dish is different to the other. But each one with explosive flavours. My hubby who is usually not a Thai fan was converted. Their dumplings are to die for. The sausages and Ice cream are made by June's mum. I need to meet her to give her a kiss, she has turned just humble food into something amazing.

Between 8am and 11am, Cafe 82 offers a small selection of western breakfast dishes. In the past, Thai food was only served in the evenings, but now that has recently flowed onto lunch. The lunch offerings are not large by any means but there’s enough choice to keep people happy. Customers get to choose from noodles, fried rice, Thai beef tacos, salt and pepper squid, salads, wraps and small snacks.
