THE best Bahn Mi in Adelaide......I always have the roast pork but last week I tried the Panko crumb chicken and it was the most delicious thing I have ever eaten!!! Great fast service and highly recommend...
Seriously the best noodle bowl I've had....the steam buns...amazing....slowly going through the menu but the crispy pork belly is toooo good to pass!!!! Fresh...Fast...Fab!!!
My favourite place to eat in adelaide city and up there with my favourite places to eat ever. excellent noodle bowls, excellent bao, excellent popcorn tofu and importantly excellent pricing.
We make a point of eating at sit lo whenever we are in Adelaide, the food is always good and the prices are reasonable they are always busy, you just have to find a seat order and enjoy

Amazing food. Quick service. Could be a bit more friendly but that doesn't bother me too much. Every time I'm in the cbd I stop in for a noodle bowl. Best tofu ever too!
Fantastic place, good food and for very affordable price.... my favourite place now...
Constant provider of amazing food which doesn’t take longer then 5min even with a lineup out of the door.
Couldn’t be better
Best satay chicken I've ever eaten, a must try!!
Such a great little place! Quick, tasty and nice atmosphere. I’ll be going again for sure!
We loved our visit. The iced coffee and soft shell crab bao - WOW!
Brilliant food, the staff though minimal were very polite, cool vibe and great tastes! Highly recommend for a cheap but quality feed.
This place is awesome. Service is really quick, really friendly and most importantly, the food is amazing. I’ve had a number of different dishes from here as I make my way through the entire menu and have no qualms with any dish at all. You won’t be disappointed
Love the food and atmosphere however the place is very small. I ordered Vietnam’s cold coffee and banh mi which were delicious and worth of price.
The staff are friendly. The baos taste great but those who hate mayonnaise will probably dont like it. The toppings and sauce are greasy and fatty, the cucumbers and baos help reducing the greasiness, which make it easier to eat. The environment is ok, looks kinda dark tho. I personally think that the fried chicken, fried tofu and soft shell crab all taste the same. The pork belly has its own sauce, not mayo
Really good, fresh food served quickly. Pho and Bao excellent. Coconut crushie an experiment that went beautifully with our meal. Excellent service, obviously a popular eating spot in town.
Really like this place. Good range but not overcomplicated. Tasty and generous portions. Good value for what it is. The decor adds to the charm and sense of the place. Staff are good and if a bit more friendlier and smile more, happily give a 5. 😀
Famtastic discovery! Im im adelaide for 20 hours and had 2 meals here hahahahahaha. Had the bao with soft shell crab- yummmmm! Had vermicelli salad- crispy pork for dinner , and the bbq pork for lunch. Both excellent!
Went for dinner today, had a wonderful vietnamese extravaganza, the beef pho is very very flavorful, the crackling pork rice is delicious and the panko fried chicken banh mi is awesome! The ambience is warm and welcoming, the food comes super quick and the tea is flavorful. Must visit for good vietnamese meal.
Sit Lo offers modern Vietnamese food in a trendy setting.
We enjoyed the pho and bao (especially soft shell crab). The rice dishes were tasty also.
You will never go back once you try the msg free pho! It’s a cute size if you order a small. The waitress recommended me to order a soft shell crab Bao on the side and I really like it too. It’s soft bun on the outside with crunchy crab inside. Next time I might try something different. It was so packed when I got there but I am so glad I have tried the food now!
The staff was friendly, and the banh mi was top notch. The space itself isn’t very big, so it can get a bit packed, but the interior makes up for it, with the cool decor and rustic ambience.
Got the panko Chicken bao the Beef noodle bowl and the beef pho with extra beef !
Loved all the three.
Love their quality of food and the warmth of the place.

What a lovely place! Tiny place with more of a street food like menu. Tried the chicken bao and the pork belly bao. The chicken bao has katsu fried crispy chicken, mayo, spring onions and cucumber. The Bao was so so soft and yummy. The chicken was perfectly crispy and the flavours were well balanced with each other.
The pork belly bao was good too but more over for pork lovers as the piece of pork belly was too big in the bao or so I thought!
Also tried the lotus root chips. So crispy and delicious. Would have loved a bit of seasoning on there or some dipping sauce apart from sriracha.
Nice cosy place restaurant, tables are small and only fits 2 person. There's a lot table with high chairs for a company of 2 or more. I got the Nem Nuong (Grilled Pork Noodle) and a crispy soft shell crab bun. The bun was absolutely delicious with a nice combination of flavours. I was expecting a proper grilled pork but it came out to be like a processed pork meat. A little disappointed there.
Best pho I've had in my time in Aus so far! Soup is very nicely made with the herbs, lemon and chilli already added in. Although Vietnamese people prefer to add them in by themselves with the specific herbs, lemon and chilli optionally to make pur own perfect bowl but they add these in very nicely that it was perfect to my taste, no need to add in hoisin sauce anymore- which is what people usually do to add more flavour but can destroy the original taste of the soup. The noodles were not the best but the soup wad so good I have to look past it. A small bowl is $8 which is very affordable as it can already fill up your lunch hunger. Their iced coffee ca phe sua da was okay, not the best but $4.50 for a small cup with ice in it was a bit too expensive. In general, a great place for Vietnamese noodle- approved by a Vietnamese!
In Adelaide for 1 day visit, had a craving for Bahn Mi, so found this place. All I can say is ‘Crispy pork belly’! This is probably the best thing I’ve ever eaten Bahn Mi wise.
Had the panko crumbed chicken noodle bowl as well as a pork bao and chicken bao. The food was all amazing. The noodle bowl was fresh and full of flavour. The bao were amazing. The food came out really quickly after ordering too
I love this place. I’ve been coming here since it’s opened and have tried most items of the menu and have never been disappointed I specially enjoy the noodle bowls but they do a mean Bahn mi as well. Very affordable and in a very cool spot. Interior inside is great and sets the mood for your experience. Workers are ok, sometimes friendly sometimes not that would be the only thing I would like them to improve. Apart from that this place is great
Great place for a quick bite..pork belly Bahn mi is highly recommended- my son eats this every single time he goes and won't try anything else as he doesn't want to miss out! I had the bao..delicious as usual (pork belly melts in the mouth and the panko crumbed chicken never disappoints). Iced coffee is always fantastic too!
I have to say I've never eaten anything here except for their banh mi so this is completely biased but best banh mi in adelaide. Their panko chicken is the best !! Such a burst of flavours with just one bite ... Their coconut crushers is yummm especially on a really hot day... That's all I can comment on cos that's the only thing I eat here... I am too scared to try anything else for the fear of getting food envy
They are very nice and clean. Great food reasonable prices as well. I have tried chicken bowl, baos and chicken wings and they were delicous. Sit Lo is one of best vietnamese restaurant i know of.
I really like the dining space here which is intimate and just enough seating. The menu is well priced and I ordered the chicken noodle bowl for $10. It came out really fast and there were nice pieces of grilled chicken.
I love love love their bao's and their lotus chips!!! I would come here so often if it weren't for the location (have to pay for parking in the busy city centre etc etc)
This small food outlet is located on Bank Street. Offering all things Vietnamese, I got to sample some of their delicious items as part of the Feast On Foot Tour. There isn't much seating inside so would recommend getting here early if opting to dine in.
I got to try their Slow Cooked Pork Belly, Pickled Cucumber, Hoisin & Spring Onions Bao (steam buns) and Lotus Root Chips. The bao had a nice flavour but the pork was slightly too fatty for me. The chips were crisp and had a sweet but spicy flavouring to them. Service was quite good.
Delicious, fresh flavours for a steal! Love the authentic Vietnamese flavours in all their dishes. The trio of baos are so yummy and cooked to order. Quick and friendly service, and easy to get to from the Bank St tram stop. Go in at Easter time for fried Nutella baos- absolutely heavenly!
The pork belly bao is simply fantastic! Soft pillowy bao meets succulent rich meat, and counters with refreshing cucumber, coriander, and hoi sin. I also highly recommend the crunchy rice net crab spring rolls 💕 The venue does not seat a large number, so plan accordingly.
Great food and fabulous service!! Absolutely loved the baos and the Vietnamese salad! Extremely flavoursome and looked amazing! I would highly recommend this little restaurant to anyone! The atmosphere is great too!
Totally hooked on their Pork Belly Banh Mi (Vietnamese roll, pictured right) - just love the combination of the crunch from the pork belly, chilli, pickled carrot and daikon in a crunchy roll . I've tried the whole menu and my other favourites would have to be their Beef Pho in a cup, Sit-Lo bites (springrolls, pictured at the top) and their Panko Chicken Baos (steamed buns, pictured left)! A cool spot along Bank St with its industrial decor to grab some casual Vietnamese food or a super quick takeaway. I'm definitely a regular at this spot!
Rice noodle bowl is good, but pho is tasteless. Excellent speed, before i finish paying bill, the food is already be in our table. Warm environment and good service.
Sit Lo is one of my favourite places to get snacks on the go - I love their coconut slushies and baos. My favourite thing they serve for me is their tofu especially their popcorn tofu and tofu Bao ( it is some of the best fried tofu I have had, it bursts with flavour), I just wish their popcorn tofu came in a bigger portion size :)
Bowled in here late Sunday afternoon for a bite.
Pork belly bao and two numbers off the specials. Vegetable egg net spring rolls and "popcorn tofu".
Pork belly steamed bun had good flavour and was a good snack.
The tofu was nice. We talked them into putting some salad with it, but even so it wasn't the biggest serve ever seen.
The spring rolls came with five on a plate with a small salad and a dipping sauce. The were brilliantly crispy and delicious and the dipping sauce wad excellent (also made a good salad dressing) but again, the spring rolls were the size of your thumb and weren't really a hearty serve.
So, delicious food in serving sizes probably best suited for a lunch time rather than dinner.
Sit Lo was recommended by a friend who used to live in Adelaide. And oh my gosh, it was such a cute place!
We love the steamed buns. They've got pork belly, panko fried chicken and soft shell crab. All equally delicious but my fave has got to be the soft shell crab as I love seafood!
So well priced. $6.50 Beef Pho, don't think there's a price like that in Sydney, hehe.
A very well designed and cool little Vietnamese joint with wooden fit outs. I love it and I'm looking forward to my next trip to Adelaide again (just so I can have those delicious Sit Lo Steamed Buns and Pho... mmmmm!
More on Instagram of my foodie adventure,

Probably Poppys second favourite Vietnamese steamed buns in Adelaide behind Mamachau. The Vietnamese rolls are pretty run of the mill, nothing too spectacular to set them apart from the pack. It's the steamed buns that keep me coming back to Sit Lo. Poppy definitely recommends you trying them out. Convenient location when you're in the city or near Hindley Street/North Terrace or on the way to or from the Footy. Thumb up worth an eat.
The venue is furnished in an industrial style with wooden tables, stainless steel stools and metal light fixtures giving it a very funky, modern and cool warehouse vibe. Coconut crushie with lychee. Coconut crushie with jackfruit. The crushies were icy and refreshing with a hint of sweetness from the fruit.
Al I can say is "TRY ALL THE THINGS"! Seriously, scrumdidillyumptious. The steamed buns, the cold rolls, the banh mi... very delicious. Pho not the most flavoursome I've ever had but I'll forgive them since everything else was above par!
Can't go past the wonderful noodle bowls here. Sit Lo offers a range of sauces to add to their dishes, but I think there is more than enough spice added as it is. I tried their chicken bao for the first time today, and whilst nice, was a bit too fatty for me.
Nice little place to grab a bite, fresh and quick.
All the dishes are presented in a simple but vibrant way and the food is flavoursome and delicious. Loved the steam buns with chicken and the noodle bowl.
I will be back for sure
Amazing ice coffee and the vegetarian Bahn mi is amazing. What I love most about the place is that they ask whether you are really vegetarian (most places don't care), so they don't add the spread of you really wanna eat vegan/vegetarian. The people working here are also really sweet. Please try the vegetarian Bahn mi, it's amazing!
On a last minute decision decided to go out for dinner, have be told about sit Lo and the cool atmosphere of the place. My partner has had the soups before and said they are fantastic, homemade noodles and a broth that has so much flavour. Tonight though we had the bun bowls with crispy pork belly. And Panko crumbed chicken wings. The chicken was crispy and nice, tasted like a fancy KFC lol. Hot and fresh and would definitely recommend. The bun bowls were nice, however it would be good if the dressing had more flavour, the pork was cut more wider with a more crispier skin. The service was very friendly and welcoming and I will be back for more chicken, and to try the soup and the steamed buns 😊😊
Best Vietnamese place in Adelaide, has all the authentic flavours and is styled in a 'hip' and 'trendy' way. Getting great Vietnamese food cant get any easier. The Banh Mi's are spot on and are a flavor-filed explosion. They specialise in Pho and the home made Vietnamese Iced Coffee is great too.
Fresh flavours, quick service! The noodle bowls, bahn mi and pillowy bao buns are delightful! Steer clear of the pho, however, one of weakest broths I have had in Adelaide :/
Grabbed some Lunch a couple of times. The food is delicious but can appear to be a bit pricey for some. Always busy at lunchtime but that just shows its popular.
Nice, casual atmosphere. The pho seemed better than my last visit but there are others that I prefer not far away. The tall bowls make it hard to get to the bottom. The spring roll bites were great - little parcels of deliciousness.
Courtesy of Instagram, some time late in 2015, I spotted the amazing looking steamed buns from some place called “Sit Lo”. Never heard of it. The buns looked, if you squinted a bit, something that was akin to a burger, and given this blog was Burger Me at the time that was an important link to make.
Discovered this place just wandering around the streets looking for a place for dinner. A warm and inviting environment, though it is small, and most diners end up on the main communal bench-style seating.
We tried the pho, noodle bowls and baos, and they were all fantastic! The pho couldn't be faulted - good quality noodles and the usual tasty flavours. The noodle bowls were an interesting combination of flavours, great salad, and the accompanying sauce is delicious (and possibly a healthier alternative!). The baos were something new to us, and we really enjoyed the soft buns filled with pork, soft shell crab and chicken (definitely try the tasting option of one of each!).
The service was quick and the staff were friendly, and it was an overall affordable meal!
Husband and I went here for a quick bite for lunch. Was quiet so nice experience to just eat in on the long bench. Food was brilliant. Hubby had Bah mi chicken and crab cold rolls. Lovely and nicely presented. I had pork salad. Perfectly balanced flavours. Just brilliant definitely will go back.
Sit Lo at 30 Bank St, Adelaide has been on our radar for a long time. Seeing all those amazing photos from fellow instagram accounts it was hard to resist in paying a visit. Its a cute and quirky place. We automatically loved the ambience when we walked in.
Stopped here for some dinner. Food came out really quick which was a bonus.
There are some good flavours in the dishes, but 2 of the dishes I ordered relied on mayo and a Sriracha mayo which wasn't necessary.
The Beef Pho needed added squirts from the condiments (I think it was sweet soy) to bring out flavours.
A cool hole-in-the-wall style restaurant. Small, cozy and friendly staff. I work in the area so I often come here regularly for some beef pho or a noodle bowl. Just a good standard of food and consistent quality and taste. Recommended for a quick bite or some takeaway lunch for Fridays. Can get busy at lunch time so choose your time if you want to get in and out.
I stopped past Sit Lo's little stall at Asia Fest and grabbed a crispy chicken bao. It was delicious! Looking forward to getting to the restaurant, hopefully I can pick up one of those hot sauce key rings that I regretted missing out on!
SitLo is a cute little joint on Bank St. Just got takeaway from there. Absolutely love the Soft Shell Crab Steamed Bun ($5). I could probably just have them!!! I also had Sit Lo Bites Noodle Bowl ($9.50). The mini meat (chicken, prawn & crabmeat) bites are super delicious, however, the dish as a whole lacks flavour. It has plenty of noodles, lettuce, and some carrot but it needs more sauce.
Nonetheless, wouldn't mind trying a few more dishes.
I love Sitlo. It is a cute spot for delicious Vietnamese. From the lotus chips, slow cooked pork belly Baos and Beef Pho you can't go wrong with what the menu has to offer.
Had takeaway dinner here after a work conference nearby tuck away on bank st.
Shopfront - cute lil modern joint with lovely wall designs.
Service - efficient and pleasant. Food came out within 10min.
Foods - delicious foods. Ordered a pork belly bao, grilled bbq pork noodle and lychee coconut crushie for $20 - not bad. As vietnamese myself i wouldn't entirely consider it authentic but more of a westernised revamp. Pork belly and bbq pork was slightly too fatty. Perhaps a bit more cucumber or carrots in the noodles? Generous serving so cant complain there! Mmm..
On a business trip, decided to try this place, very friendly staff, awesome menu of delectable snacks and bread rolls pho etc. Tried their lotus chips which had a sweetness to it which was odd cause I've had a lot of lotus chips, still good and ordered the slow cooked pork belly bao which was amazing. Would definitely come back...
If you're looking for easy, westernized Vietnamese this is the lunch spot to go. Though I have some mixed opinions of the menu. Baos = delicious, great mix of ingredients and worth the slight overpricing, noodle bowls = pretty good and large portions, pho = in a cup, yum but a lil too much noodle to meat proportion, cold rolls = average, Banh mi = not such a fan as the bread's a lil soggy and unpleasantly warm and you can get much cheaper one's all over the city. Service is fast so works for on the go travelers, and I have to say I do like the hipster feels and bike wheels hanging on the walls.
A friend and I have taken it upon ourselves to track down Adelaide's best Banh Mi. Id been talking up the options of Sit Lo, having been only once before but already won over. I finally got a chance to head back over the weekend. Pleased to say we now very much agree, these are right up there. For us the pork Bahn mi filled with a generous amount of pork, crunchy crackling and all the right trimmings is a highlight.
This time around I also tried the pho and was more than impressed. I really enjoyed the addition of the fresh herbs that add another element to the soup.
For me I also can't go past the vietnamese coffee, its strong, sweet and more than a little addictive.
I was so happy to stumble upon this place, just off Hindley St. We were looking for a quick and easy dinner and Vietnamese street food was the perfect option! Definitely try a few different things from the menu, we loved the bao (I've been dreaming off the steamed bun ever since) and the decor was warm and inviting. This is the type of place you would find in Melbourne, go Adelaide!
This place was great. Food was amazing and reasonably priced. Seating is a bit awkward and not many tables. All menu items were fantastic, definitely worth the wait and try a bit of everything. Food delivered fast and delicious.
Love love love Sit Lo. Have been several times and have never had an issue getting a table and the food comes out so quickly. Everything is fresh and tasty, love the bao buns especially the pork. The popcorn tofu is also amazing. I do wish they served alcohol but easy to go to bank street social from there.
After some great fireworks I wanted something quick and tasty and this cool little place caught my eye. I had the trio of Bao with one of each flavour. These were Pork Belly, Soft Shell Crab and Panko Fried Chicken. My favourite of the three was the soft shell crab as the flavour was good and good sauce. The pork belly was a tad bland and the chicken was ok. The Bao itself was very soft and enjoyable. I swilled it down with one of their iced coffees which are excellant and I do recommend! A nice decor with limited seats though always busy.
They served lovely Bao in this place! Piping hot steamed bun with a crispy chicken filling and chilli Mayo! The braised pork was so soft! It literally melts in your mouth. The sweet bean sauce goes really well with the meat too. What a great way to end this lovely trip to Adelaide!
Cute little spot which gets pretty busy at lunch hour. Have had the bread rolls a few times from here and they've always been good. Wish their Vietnamese coffee was the traditional type with the filter and poured over sweetened condensed milk.
Such an amazing space. Super small, but that creates atmosphere & SO EASILY photographed!!
Staff were really friendly & accommodating when I swapped the spicy mayo for just regular mayo (a spice wuss right here) even when really busy. I had to stand squished to the side to wait for my order, but they were quick & we were lucky enough to snag a seat on the middle table.
My bao (I ordered 3, 1 chicken & 2 pork) fell a bit flat & some elements such as coriander were missing. I still enjoyed the flavours but didn't leave feeling hugely satisfied.
I would love to go back when it's not so busy (we went at lunchtime) and try when there isn't such a rush for food to come out.
We had lunch here. Overall the experience was good. The place was very hipster, and was a cool place to dine in. We ordered a small pho and bahn mi and bao with roast pork. The bahn mi and bao tasted great however i was very disappointed in the pho as i believe it was greatly westernized and did not feel authentic at all
Portion sizes are on the smaller side. Good for a quick lunch. Fresh, tasty, and good quality food. Must try their buns! The coconut drink wasn't bad either.
Sit Lo at 30 Bank St, Adelaide has been on our radar for a long time. Seeing all those amazing photos from fellow instagram accounts it was hard to resist in paying a visit. Its a cute and quirky place. We automatically loved the ambience when we walked in. On the menu are a list of Traditional Vietnamese food with a Western touch like Baos (Steam Buns), Noodles, Pho, Banh Mi, Cold Rolls and a few side dishes. On this occasion (we say "this occasion" as we will return!) we ordered the Baos (Steam Buns).
Great spot for lunch in the city - if you don't mind paying slightly above average prices for Vietnamese lunch food, then you'll be rewarded with tasty, gourmet versions of some Vietnamese classics here.
Food:
I don't think I've had anything here that I haven't enjoyed. The taro chips aren't for me and you can get better pho around the place, but overall everything is good.
Service:
The service isn't anything to write home about, it's not good or bad, but they are always busy and it's not fine dining so what do you expect?!
Ambience:
Very cosy, nice fit out. The kind of place that makes you feel like you're in capable hands.
Dish to look out for:
I particularly love the Shitaki and tofu Banh Mi, gives a great texture to go with the crunchy bread roll and the flavours just work.
Sit Lo was one of the places that I had heard of but it wasn’t really on my radar until I got a tip that the baos were really good. No more words were needed as this quickly became on my to eat list :). I was initially surprised at how small these were (smaller than Mamachau which I already thought was small) but on first bite I was hooked. Smaller in size, higher in price but you can’t beat the freshness of the baos where it had a super soft texture that held together the filling.
This place rocks. A lot of thought has gone into making this place as good as what it is. Quality like this doesn't happen without a lot of effort and love from the owners. They know what the punters want and the fact that this place is pumping and full of happy diners every lunch while other places blame food trucks whilst they stand around looking at empty tills - show that Sit Lo gets it. They get what the public wants. High quality food, fresh and full of flavour. Quick and friendly service with a smile. Prices that don't make your wallet cry but rather have you slotting a date into your iPhone calendar for your next visit as your walking out the door. Sure, it is a little bit out of the way for some - down Bank Street - but it doesn't matter. The place is full with both students and suits smashing good Bahn mi and generous noodle bowls. Me, I had a roast pork Bahn mi and a crab Bao bun. Both were delicious. Another winner for the west.
Super tasty Banh Mi and noodle bowls! Loved the shiitake and tofu. The restaurant is casual but really cool - perhaps a little crowded, though.
Quick, easy and inexpensive!. My favourite place to go for a banh mi in the city. So tasty!
Great little place , nice food with friendly service.
Nice atomosphere,
Makes me feel like I'm tucked away in a little redtaurant in Ho Chi Minh
Yumm. As an avid vietnamese street food fan this place has got to be one of my very favourites. Pho is wonderful, baos are lovely, bahn mis are lovely. Iced coffee (cafe sua da) is a must have!! staff are always friendly and welcoming.
It is what it is. Far from authentic Pho but I ate here on a work trip solo and it hit the spot. Cold rolls were also fine but dipping sauce of lime chilli and fish sauce probably came pre-mixed out of a bottle and was a let down. Decent value for serving sizes and will probably eat here again to try other things. Not entirely horrible as described by others just probably not as good as it could be..
Dont listen to all those negative people!. Anyone who has posted something negative about this place are just too hard to please.
Ive been coming here for the last 8 months whenever im over here for work and im yet to have a bad experience!!
Always tasty, quality product. Friendly staff and modest prices.
Always consistent!
The new slushies are amazing too!
