Review Parlamento - Adelaide

Andrew Higgins
Good food and good service. May be my new go to in Adelaide. Had my general fav the marinara and contrary to most, there was more seafood than pasta. The dish may be a bit spicy for some, however perfect for me :) . Watching the other dishes go past, they all looked good! Will be back and recommend. Btw l: the guy in the pic is Danny who looked after my table and tells me he has been there for 30 years! Say hi to him if you visit.

Service was amazing. So attentive and friendly. The marinara didn't quite live up to the menu picture but was delicious just the same. The ragu was also delicious and very generous serving sizes. Definitely recommend
Mel Lamborn
Fantastic friendly service and incredible food. I will certainly keep coming back here. A wonderful variety of different dishes, and plenty of vegetarian choices. The portions are incredible. Certainly great value for money here too. I would highly recommend giving them a visit.

I had a delightful gnocchi pasta with pork sausages, peas and mushrooms. I would love to come back and try more dishes. We sat outside which I am hesitant to recommend as the service was a little slower and the atmosphere less engaging. I would highly recommend booking ahead of time and sitting inside.

Couldn't have been happier with the food or the service. The waiters were all delightful and delivered excellent, old fashioned class to their service. Meals were excellent and portion sizes were great. Only problem was no room left for dessert! A good wine menu of Old and New world vintages as well.

We were a group of 3 adults, 3 kids and a baby. We booked our table ahead of time for a Friday seating at 6pm. Service was excellent and efficient. The staff engaged well with all of us, including the kids. Food came out quickly and tasted great. Highly recommended!

Love this restaurant !!. We live in Perth and every time we come to Adelaide we book in for a very nice meal. Ralph recommend our starters and we could not be happier. The entire experience and meal was fantastic and a complementary sherry was much appreciated. We will be back for sure.

A pleasant experience. Busy place for lunch. We had 24 people. Meal was Delish. Size was right for me. Very Friendly, Happy Staff. Great Location across from Adelaide Casino &Railway Station. Would Definitely go again.

Service was good but food isnt. Spagetti marinara was bland and the calarami unskinned so you have to do that yourself if you dont want to choke. The saltimbocca was a cheap cut that was very overcooked and chewy. Confused at the such high reviews? Went on a tuesday night which wasnt busy.
Dinnertime!
A regular Adelaide treat for us. The most lovely and professional staff you will find anywhere. The food is authentic and delicious with the freshest ingredients. Regularly changing specials. Consistently a top dining experience. Highly recommended.

Last night a group of friends and I went here. Service was excellent! My meal-the Melanzane alla parmigiana was delicious-authentic & rich in flavours. Most others meals at our table were great, however the salt & pepper squid in both the entree & main meal were super chewy. The waiter was great, and sorted my friends meal out straight away. I will most certainly return.

Dined here recently for a special occasion and very disappointed. Had to wait at door with staff pushing past to be seated and then waited again to be served. About 20  mins before we were even asked to order drinks. Main impression was staff rushing past everywhere but not stopping to provide us with service. Food OK but generally underwhelmed by whole experience.

Delicious food. Generous serves. Very friendly and efficient wait staff. It was a delight to dine there. Tables are a bit close together however the noise of the customers having a private conversation was easy.

Me and my friends had dinner here. We ordered Antipasto, Bistecca, Risotto and Brocollini. All meals are beautiful. The antipasto was big for two serve, we even feeling full with it. Bistecca was superb, juicy and tender..i love it. Risotto were nice too. We were very satisfied with the meals and service. Will some again for sure.

Fantastic Breakfast. <br/>Gang from Melbourne were really impressed. <br/>We thought we were having breakfast in a little cafe in Sorrento. <br/>The muesli is to die for. The service is friendly and even a simple toast is beautiful. <br/>Love the place and we are returning tomorrow for beaky , again. <br/>Go Adelaide !

We've been going to Parlamento for years now. I was reminded to write this after another fantastic meal this afternoon.  Over the years there have been many restaurants come and go in Adelaide's CBD but Parlamento is a constant - a constant source of fun, great service, delicious Italian food and value. When we have guests, we take them there because we know the food will be delicious and the service second-to-none. Thank you to Ralph, Danny and the team at Parlamentos.  We really appreciate you!

Parlamento has always been busy every time I walk past. In the 12 years that I’ve lived in Adelaide, this institution located across from the train station is still going strong despite a building delay setback in 2011. I was told many celebrities have dined here too! And so we made this our venue of choice for a midweek girl’s night (plus one boy).

Love love love this place! Happened to stumble upon it while staying at the Stamford Plaza, and the food was amazing! I'm such a pasta addict, and this definitely cured my cravings!

Fairly traditional Italian. Nothing special about the decor or menu. But and it's a big but, the service and the care they take are awesome only matched by La Trattoria. My theory is that it's because they employ old people. Yes people over the age of 18. It makes a difference my friends. <br/><br/>My absolute favourite dish is the Capesante gratinate - scallops with lemon and breadcrumbs and Parmesan. <br/><br/>Book if you're going on a busy night or if there is footy on!

Pasta cravings satisfied at one of Adelaide’s culinary institution, Parlamento. No doubt, you’ve probably walked past the premises plenty of times, seen that the place is packed to the brim, but still didn’t think much of the place. Yes, the restaurant itself is a little clinical and cafe looking, but the food is homely, generous and full of flavour. There is a reason why it’s always packed!

I don't know what happened with this place to be very honest. Went there last year on two occasions and the food was just brilliant with the flavours on point, but going there last Friday was just a horrible experience. It was quite packed during lunchtime with workers coming in and out but we got a spot nonetheless.<br/><br/>The pasta...it was not up to standard. Pumpkin was hard and uncooked, pine nuts ruined the dish, spinach made teeth feel pasty and the bacon was off I believe! The other dishes (ravioli with truffle) seemed to be okay but was slightly undercooked as well! (Not to mention store bought pasta from what used to be a wonderful Italian restaurant!)<br/><br/>Whatever happened Parlamento? Not sure if they changed the chefs but I was really disappointed.

We had a great cup of coffee here a few days ago so decided to return for dinner. What a great experience. The staff remembered us and greeted us warmly. The scallop entree was delicious with a tasty crumb that was zesty and slightly mustardy. I had the spaghetti puttanesca for main course and it was everything you could hope for in a puttanesca sauce - plenty of juicy olives, lots of tomato, capers and anchovies for flavour. It was a generous serve so unfortunately we could not squeeze in dessert. The staff were very attentive and the food standards high overall. I would not hesitate to return.
Food Master
It looks spectacular... There is a perfect amount of froth and a large amount of chocolate. It was hot. Maybe a bit too hot. But it tastes so good... The chocolate... The froth... The amount... ☕️😋😄😌😗<br/><br/>Later, I decided to have dinner here. I had Spaghetti Pommodoro Napoletana. It was a very simple dish but it was tasty. Nothing was wrong although I think the serving sizes of the pasta was too big.
Adelaide
One of the waiters is the worst ever in such a "decent" restaurant. I doubt if he knows how to respect guests especially that guests have some requirements or habits that do not really matter. By the way, the food is nothing special.
JN
First time trying pasta here and I absolutely loved it! I had the chicken pasta... It was delicious and I will definitely consider coming back for me. Atmosphere was also great!
Alan
The good part - alway consistent good food, one blemish over many visits, but always very good. Had the lemon veal medallion which was cooked very nicely with great flavour and textures, an absolute winner! Also had the spaghetti marinara - the sauce was very deep and flavoursome, actually quite unique given the texture; pasta cooked al-dente and good amount of seafood (although could have gone without the crab as the meat was a tad mushy).<br/>Service went from good to begin with, to something out of a horror film at the end. Seated promptly, food arrived promptly and waitress serving was very very good and courteous, I'd say on her part a 9/10. When settling bill, had a couple of these Good Food gift cards to utilise, and waiter at the time, well, let's say the encounter was regrettable. Whinged about having those 2 gift cards, made a scene out of it, in terms of customer service, the things you don't do (i.e. cardinal no-no's) - he did all of those. I won't elaborate the specifics as it'll sound like a circus but the idea is, if you don't want people coming with these Good Food gift cards, don't be in the program, simple.<br/>So overall, great food, great service to begin with but ended up like a circus from the Wild Wild West. Don't bother to visit this establishment though if you have Good Food gift cards to use, as I was told, 'you are better off using it at a coffee shop'

Was looking for a quick bite so I tried my luck here. I didn't have a reservation and the place looked fully booked but they showed me into cosy alcove area which suited me perfectly as I was dining alone. The pasta was generous in size and very delicious. I'll be back to try other items on the menu but next time I'll remember to book.

4 adults, 2 ppl ordered entrees 2 ppl ordered mains .<br/>Dared to ask for no garlic in a dish, wouldn't even ask the chef, blanket NO!<br/>Then we made the BIG mistake of ordering sides with our 4 meals.Wont fit on the table waitress says , i recommend 1 side 1 salad. How bizzare, telling us to order less because tables r too small. Eggplant dish undercooked. Lasagne undercooked. Lamb dish perfect. Sad experience.

Ive been to this restaurant a few times because of its reputation. Every time I thought that I must have just come on a bad night.<br/><br/>Finally after a few meals I'm sure that the food is poorly prepared and bland while the wait staff are abrupt and unfamiliar with the menu.  This is very surprising given the cost.<br/><br/>The last straw was seeing them spitefully closing on Australia day because they are unwilling to pay fair award rates. Hospitality employers have a huge advantage over their staff, they already underpay them and demand persistently unsociable hours. <br/><br/>Fine don't trade on public holidays, thats your right, but don't use it as a political stunt aimed at further worsening the conditions for your employees.<br/><br/>I'd probably never eat there again just because of the food but your privileged tantrum has guaranteed it.
Ray Johnson
shame shame shame if you were open on australia day you would have had a lot of business from the cricket that was in town and you could have added a surcharge like McDonald's and hungry jacks adds to cover their extra expenses why couldn't you
Amy Fitzgerald
Waiters and hospitality staff are people too, with the same living expenses as the rest of us - the fact the Daniel and the rest of the ownership team at Parlamento don't believe that hospitality staff deserve a living wage because it means their profit will "only" be hundreds of dollars is a disgrace. 0/10
Michael Johnstone
If you can't attract enough business to offset your costs on a day when most of the country isn't working don't blame public holiday penalty rates, blame your poor business management.
Edwina Byrne
The owner here would prefer to complain about paying decent wages to staff than serve food to waiting customers. Not my kind of place.<br/><br/>Put a sign up on Australia day complaining about having to compensate their staff for working on a public holiday, then admitted to The Australian that they STILL would have made hundreds of dollars in pure profit on top of wages... just not as much profit as they believe they're entitled to. <br/><br/>I would never risk eating in a restaurant that treats the people who work there with such contempt and disrespect.
FoodPitt
One of the best pasta establishments in Adelaide. My personal favourite is the Penne Basilico. The servings are extremely generous and the service is attentive and professional. Can't fault it.
Alphonso
Not very nice for Italian food. The food just did not taste fresh, so I think it was not authentic. The service was very slow. Which I was surprised by because they only had three seated tables.
SueyLuey
Dropped by for a quick bfast as we were staying nearby at the Playford. Had indoor and outdoor seating.<br/><br/>Menu had a few choices for food but no menu for drinks except at the front on the board.<br/><br/>Service - they weren't full but somehow the staff was more busy clearing the dishes then serving the customers? Sorta hard to make eye contact to even paying the bill!<br/><br/>Food - not the best unfortunately. It did look good when it came out. Partner ordered the big bfast and i got the braised beans on toast with eggs. My eggs were both overcooked and dry. The bean was plain and had to add a lot of salt. The big bfast was soggy due to too much liquids in the scramble eggs and the tomato and mushroom was lacking in flavour.<br/><br/>So overall not the best start to the day...<br/><br/>

If you want to bite into your meal and weirdly look at your family/friends and over emphasize the taste by saying "mmmmm" really loudly, DON'T EAT HERE. The meals were ok, made to look fancy... but lacked taste.
Tonya Darby
For a large table our food came out reasonably quickly. The restaurant itself is quite noisy and paying or going to the bathroom was a nightmare with people lining up and little room to move. I had the Marinara which was nice but not the best I have ever had.
Mark
One of the best Italian restaurants in Adelaide. Have visited many times and tried most of the menu, never a bad meal. Service is professional, friendly and prompt.
Princess Tallulah
An unimaginative menu that left us pondering for 10 minutes, not because we couldn't pick, but because there was literally nothing to excite. The waiters couldn't help us as every question we asked about the menu they didn't know or 'couldn't remember'. When our meals did arrive I can honestly say I was openly shocked. The 'meat' was grey and looked boiled and the veg tasted like it had been sitting in water too long. I can't knock the portion sizes and everyone commented that the pastas were huge. High prices but badly cooked and cheap ingredients. There are so many better places in Adelaide. This may be a long standing institution of a restaurant in a fantastic location but I think they need to move into the 21st century. Sorry but I won't be back.

Service second to none!<br/>Let's bring the venue location into this review! It's at a great location in Adelaide and easy to locate!<br/>Opposite the Casino, parking available near by also.<br/>The steak here was so succulent and the sauce rich with flavor! <br/>It was a very generous serving and was impressed with the vegetables that accompanied the dish.<br/>Definitely looking forward to returning.<br/>

Reminded me of an episode of Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares...<br/><br/>The chicken was frozen. "Semi dried tomatoes" we're soggy and from a tin. Pasta tasted like the cheapest supermarket brand that was on special for 49c a packet. Oysters tasted off. Big pieces of random lemon slices in food. Whole garlic cloves in food. Staff were yelling at each other.<br/><br/>Just go hungry next time.

Excellent food and staff! This Italian food brings back memories when my Nonna use to cook for me. 10/10 and I will always be back for more.
Belle
Delicious flavoursome food with generous servings.. Very authentic! The staff are also very friendly and accommodating. When my favourite lunch meal was not on the menu for dinner the chef went out of his way and prepared it as a surprise addition to our meal! I have been here a few times now and can never go past the signature chicken penne pasta.
Poppie
Big servings of sub-par, bland Italian Australianised food. The Pollo was horribly bland, approx half a kilo of chicken or more on a plate with no flavour whatsoever. Best part of the night was the pannacotta and leaving

Useless staff and misogynistic management results in the worst restaurant experience ever. Combining useless staff and misogynistic management this restaurant is not for the female eater. While they fail to note it, they will not cater for any dietary requirements and you will be treated like a second class citizen. This experience is enough to ensure you don't return to Adelaide any time soon.

Excellento. There's a reason why this place is busy, even on a weeknight... Because the service is 5 stars, food is delicious and sizeable servings. Pasta cooked to perfection with wonderfully fresh ingredients.
Paul Montesi
Paul Montesi. On a busy Saturday night, walked off the street, they were very busy but still found a table for us. Easily the best restaurant in Adelaide, quality food, great service and value for money, can't ask for much more. Keep up the good work!

Spaghetti Marinara. Amazing!!!<br/><br/><br/>-----14 Feb, 2015-----<br/><br/>Amazing. I popped into Parlamento last night whilst in Adelaide for work, hoping to grab a meal at about 8pm. The staff were very accommodating, and seated me in the alfresco area. I ordered 6 natural oysters with lemon, which were beautiful, and the spaghetti marinara. To say it was amazing wouldn't do it justice. Large serving, bursting with fresh calamari, salmon, mussels, prawns and half a crab and claw etc. The tomato based sauce was complex and divine. Finished off with a glass of Zuma Estate can sav, I can honestly give this meal a 10/10.
Lovetink
Fantastic food. I've eaten here twice now and both times everyone at the table has been blown away by the food. The marinara is out of this world! Very reasonably priced and friendly wait staff. The only draw back for me is that it gets noisy in the dining room, but it's worth putting up with some bustle for the beautiful food. Will definitely be back!

From Adelaide first timers.... Absolutely amazed at our meal ..a must order is the Antipasto , ideal for vegetarians and meat lovers alike steak was incredible ....highly recommend A++++

Average only. Average food and service. Nothing to tell mama about!
Ilias Mavromatis
It don't matter how many times you come here the service and food is amazing A+++

Amazing Flavour. We found this place after traipsing round adelaide, on foot, trying to find food on a Sunday night. It was only 15 minutes before the listed closing time but they were still bringing out meals and they assured us they could feed us. We were quickly seated and our orders taken promptly. I had the pasta shells baked in a pan and filled with spinach and ricotta and surrounded in a creamy tomato sauce and mum had a penne with chicken, tomato etc. The meals came out after only a short wait and were amazing. The shells would have been enough for 2 people and even the entree sized penne was too much for mum but the flavors were perfect, rich and cheesy.<br/>The staff and atmosphere were friendly and you could tell there were a number of regulars from the way the staff interacted with them. It was a good half hour after the advertised closing time when we left and we were not the last to go but the staff didn't hurry us.<br/>If I were in Adelaide again I would definitely come back here. It is well worth a visit.
Julie McGinnigle
Quite possibly the most delicious restaurant we've evee been to. 9.5/10. Efficient, attentitive, quickly moving waitstaff. Generous, mouth-wateringly good meals. Plenty of menu choice. We (2 of us) shared crumbed scallops with basil & fresh cherry tomatoes plus baked ricotta with brown mushrooms & lemon juice for starters. Scallops were succulant & incredibly tasty with the perfect mix of flavours. Baked ricotta made an otherwise plain startee come to life. For mains we pan-fried quail with thyme, garlic, prosciotto & carrot slithers and a creamy prawn, zucchini & mushroom penne. Pasta has delish tho did lack that 'x' factor. Quail was a 10/10. Just amazing. Finished with tiramisu - which once again was a best-ever. A purely divine experience.

Fairly main stream italian food. Big portions must get the people in.

I EAT EVERYWHERE. I am a frequent traveller based in Adelaide.<br/>Parlamento's fare is both true to it's Italian roots and from my observations is popular to <br/>all walks of life...formula is fresh ingredients expertly cooked.<br/>These guys put heart and soul into their business ...and the new Parlamento has one of the<br/>best designed interiors in Adelaide......stylish and I would go there for both a quick coffee <br/>or a leisurely evening meal...and an impressive wine list
Paul Jasniach
Great food. decor a little too cafe. The food here is great. massive portions. i think the decor is a little old in the restaurant. wooden tables etc<br/>but the food is outstanding. i had the marinara pasta. with just olive oil no sauce. fantastic.
Foodie Quine
There is no question as to why Parlamento has stood the test of time, over and over and over again.<br/>Delicious authentic Italian food - don't leave here without trying the crumbed oysters, any of their pastas or their panna cotta.<br/>Only shame is that it feels like a real "business lunch" resturant, but granted this is their market. Don't forget them for dinner either, especially before or after a show!
M
Lovely!. Fantastic service and even better food! Was delightful. If you are after a good Italian meal then definitely go here! Loved it :)
Geoff
Found out why it rates highly. An Adelaide visitor looking for a nice Italian meal. So off i went based on its high Urbanspoon rating. The service was warm and inviting, the meal was lovely and i couldn't finish the paella. The waiter turned out to be the owner and he was very pleasant, and ensured we were well served. Bravo Parlamento.

Like it....wee LOVE IT!!! F.... Like it....wee LOVE IT!!!<br/>Fantastic food... Great location..,.fantadtic service...very well looked after by our waiter Daniel!

Great food and service. Even when it come to ordering my morning coffee, Bruno (the magical barista) is always friendly- he gives free banter and old school customer service with every coffee. <br/><br/>A favourite restaurant of mine and a true Adelaide 'establishment'. If you haven't been make a booking!
Debbie Bernardo
Good wine. Staff exactly as found in Rome.....semi rude, but efficient. Food was good. I will return on the strength of the winelist
Chesterljh
Bad food. We ordered a potato with salad meal and you could see the thick layer of oil in there<br/>We also ordered the risotto with scallops which was bland and oily<br/>ordered a pasta and turned out very oily and bland as well.<br/><br/>saw great reviews but turned out a big disappointment and never will we go there anymore
AdamF
Packed on Good Friday and was about to leave. So glad we stayed. Had the pork saltimbocco and penne basilica. Both excellent. Will be happy to go back.
David
Fabulous Italian. Great location - next to our hotel and opposite the casino! Excellent service. Great food and very large serves - unusual in good restaurants these days. The bottom line is the food was wonderful, with excellent wine at a reasonable price.........
John Struik
As Good AS It Gets. Excellent Service, Fantastic rare Ribeye, (but needed more charring, however still the best), killer Caesar Salad, Overly generous serves, fresh produce and fairly priced, Shouldn't get a dud meal here. Ask for the Bouillabaisse or whatever the equivalent is in Italian, sometimes on the specials board.
Annebickerstaff
A good meal, but..... We had an excellent meal at Parlamento, with impeccable service, but I do feel that if they are going to make it to the higher levels of dining in Adelaide, they need greater attention to detail in their napery and ambience.
Peter Morton
Unsubtle fast Italian. Parlamento has been around for a long time and was completely renovated not too long ago. It was crowded out on the weekday night when I visited - the first time for years - with a bustling, cheerful atmosphere. Service was fast and impersonal, with the staff obviously used to coping with being rushed off their feet. Prices are quite high, especially for the quality of food, which none of my party thought was particularly good. Serves are large. Our starter of calamari was excellent - lightest of batter and absolutely non-rubbery. Three of our party of 4 had the veal and prawns. It came swimming in a creamy tomato sauce. Nothing at all subtle about it: it had the air of mass-produced 'Australianised' Italian similar to that served up in many other places around town. Personally, I found it all went down quite tolerably with lots of bread and 2 bottles of a nice red, but my companions were much more dismissive. None of us saw any reason to return - much better Italian is available elsewhere for those prices. <br/>One point - the noise level is painful, especially as an evening goes on. If you are the slightest bit deaf, you'll be struggling.
Simon Ryan
Had a great meal here. Service was good but a little slow with the drinks. Fantastic choices of wines and great suggestions of wine to accompany each meal. Look forward to returning to try some of the other dishes.
Uki
Had a Caesar Salad. Best yet. Great desserts and wonderful staff. Loved our meal.
SPC
I can safely say that my girlfriends nonna cooks better Italian food. Very basic at best.<br/><br/>Still, the staff were great and very nice.
Holygrail42
Lovely!. We walked past on a Saturday night and it was booked out very early and everyone looked to be a having a great time. We were able to get in on the Sunday night and were suitably impressed. <br/>The service was fantastic and attentive. Our food was amazing! My husband had gnocchi and I had the ravioli. The meals were very large and great value for money. I am glad that we decided not to order anything for our daughter, just put some of our meals on a plate for her, as we had so much. <br/>I would highly recommend this restaurant, and recommend booking if wanting to go on a Friday or Saturday night.
MsX
Felt like a princess. Loved it. Arrived as a solo diner whilst the pre-threatre crowd was in. This was not a problem as the owner organised a table to be set up for me specially. I ordered the risotto which was perfect and a glass of the Tenafete Shiraz. Both were excellent. Would've loved to have left a tip (not something I do very often), but the owner graciously declined.<br/><br/>Next time I'm in Adelaide, I know where to dine!
Amber Del Pin
The food was on the expensive side, which you expect and don't mind, considering the location and the festive theatre bound clientele they're trying to attract. The staff were charismatic and attentive, which bodes well. The atmosphere and decor have definitely improved since the renovation, and gives quite a classy, festive feel. The food however was the low point of the night. My funghi, gorgonzola and baked polenta entree was literally swimming in an inch of olive oil, which had soaked into the baked polenta and made it completely inedible. My main, a pumpkin filled ravioli, cooked in a burnt butter sage sauce, with hazelnuts and crushed amaretti biscuits was again - under practically an inch of butter/oil. The highlight of the night was my wine - I strongly recommend the Momo, a beautiful Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Loveliest white I've had in a while. We won't be returning ;)
Sue McIndoe
I can recommend the fettuccine prima vera
Ulysseselias
Hit and miss. Last week I ate a plate of fettucini with meatballs from the specials menu. It was dreadful. The meatballs tasted cheap and acidic. It was the type of quality I would expect from a shopping centre food court. One of my guests had the fish dish and she said it was great. My other guest had a lamb cutlet dish that was served blanketed with multiple rashers of barely-cooked bacon. It seemed to be a lottery. The food could be good or awful depending on what you chose
DrZen
Staff r friendly.

Breakfast here is nice.

Two people with two Risottos and we were not disappointed. Both were very fresh and tasty. Cannot fault the service and large choice of wines with a good selection of local types. Prices were a little on the high side but this is still a place we would come back to without hesitation.
The Devourer Of Food
Eat it ... eat it now. I can't pronouce them italian words but the food is top class. Seafood Stew ... something something di Pesce is so full of seafood, i thought someone emptied the sea to feed me. <br/><br/>Worth the hike to town and worth the crawl back home dragging my overfeed belly.<br/><br/>They even allow us to order double serves and the service was excellent too.
Captainshaft
Massive portions with great flavours!! I had the mussel for entree, fresh mussels with chillies was a good combo to start off the dining experience. The seafood marinara was also nicely cooked with plenty of seafood. No one walked out hungry that night.
Steamrollersam
Urgh. Grilled barramundi with fennel a tad undercooked and looked a mess on the plate. Liked the spaghetti with arrabiata sauce, but it didn't blow me away. Good for a quick feed, unpretentious ambience, good service. I wish the food was heaps better.
Food Fan
Great!. Dined with 12 friends here for a special occasion. Staff were very friendly and we were all well attended to. Food was efficient and tasty. I would recommend as a relaxed dining experience for couples too.
I Eat Adelaide
Had pre theatre dinner there and was really surprised - slick service and really good food. We were not rushed and time to meander over to the FT
Anita
Disappointing. Had risotto swimming in oil. Was so disappointed that I can't go back!

I liked this place pasta was good and nice size altho the menu was a bit limited for someone who a doesn't<br/> like seafood

Great food. The oysters done in schnitzel coating were to die for. The mains steak was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. The pasta was perfect. These guys cook wonders and the service was excellent yet friendly. Good wine well priced. Only downer I saw Wayne Swan in there next day.

Good lunch. Our first time back at this restaurant since it re-opened. Very boring but all of us had the same the hamburger patties, a few requests to leave off mushrooms or cheese were easily accommodated. The patties were very tasty and lovely meat, only slight complaint was I asked for it to be well done and there was some pink (having had food poisoning from under cooked beefburgers in the past I'm very careful) The service was attentive but very impersonal, not sure if that is good or bad - but would certainly go there again and try something else. Only other issue is you do feel a bit squashed and that other people can hear your conversations without too much trouble.

MRS. If you dont mind waiting for over an hour for a very average main meal.....go. We ordered at 7-35pm, got the entree we ordered. 9-10pm received mains.....NOT really good enough. A half hearted aplolgy; no compensation....

Breakfast redeemed. This breakfast experience was much better than last time. Even though it was busy with pre-christmas diners the service was excellent. The braised beans and poached eggs were delicious and it was a generous serve so great value.<br/><br/><br/>-----27 Jan, 2013-----<br/><br/>Lunch was better. I came for lunch and was impressed. It was busy (as always) but we were served quickly and in a friendly manner. The arancini balls were delicious and a perfect size for a lunch order.<br/><br/>I also attended a function here and again, was impressed. The food was better than the usual function fare found elsewhere and the serves were enough so that no one was hungry. Can recommend.<br/><br/><br/>-----01 Mar, 2012-----<br/><br/>Can see why it's been around for so long.. Decided to have breakfast here ordered our coffees and ordered our food. 20 mins after ordering our food a waiter comes over and informs us that one of our choices (unfortunately the one that we were really looking forward to) has run out but fails to bring a menu so that we could pick something else. Returns with a menu and we re-order. whilst these things happens it was disappointing from such an Adelaide institution. However, the staff are all friendly and there's enough to make sure that you don't have to wait.<br/><br/>To their credit the food came out quickly after that. We were divided on the mozzarella sandwich - I thought it was tasty enough but my friend thought it was bland. The side order of bacon was great though - great taste, very little fat and a decent serve. The fritatta was also tasty but the presentation was a bit ordinary.

Good lunch spot. Huge serves though.

Fine Food & Service. Despite recent critical user reviews I found this establishment to provide an excellent dining experience. Had the marlin as a main which was a tasty & substantial serve. One of my colleagues had the rabbit and loved it (an Italian favorite). The strawberries & ice cream were delicious & succeeded in giving my stomach that overindulged feeling. Highly recommended.

A mixed experience. Whilst our experience started poorly - we had to find our own seats, tell them we would like to see the menus twice, ask them to take our drink orders and all without a smile during a Wednesday lunch - the moment we began to order the experience changed. A few guests of mine wanted to change a few things - something which some restaurants frown at - but nothing was an issue. And when they food came is was great. Try the pasta with a beef Ragu. Amazing!

From the get go this was a disappointment. After being ignored for 3-4 minutes upon entry, I had to walk up to a waiter to let them know we were here for a booking. No smile, no welcome at all, in fact it was obvious we were an inconvenience to be there. The food was ok, but only just ok. Too much salt, way too much oil, and the bread wasn't fresh. I won't be back.
The Feed Report
The real parliament is across the road. I'm not sure who's going to fall for this fake. The "o" on the end is what gave it away for me.
The Feed Report
Italian North Tce. April 28, 2014 Parlamento is opposite the casino. I've been here a few times before, must often in search of feed, after going to a series of other restaurants nearby, only to find they don't exist. Since then, Parlamento has moved up to Urbanspoon's "$$$" category, making it fancy enough for me to review. :) Lamb cutlets 8/10 Oven-baked "porcini mushroom-crusted" lamb cutlets with tomato, olive oil, garlic — served on pea mint mash. The lamb chops are big and meaty. They're juicy and well-infused with the tomato and garlic. The juice also pervades the pleasant pea mash below, giving it a strong salty, garlicky flavour.

The decor is modern, the customer service is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxed. The food here is authentic as it gets and everything seems to come in large servings.
Tempting Palates
Flavoursome Italian dishes served by charismatic waiters in a bustling city venue at Parlamento, 140 North Terrace, Adelaide. This place reminds us of how Italian restaurants used to be - cheeky Italian waiters, good rustic homemade tasting food (that Nonna used to cook) and slick  professional service.

Parlamento a home style Italian bistro, not too bad and the waiters are in old school black and white uniforms (++ for them being aussie/italian and able to speak Italian !) but food wise barely passed with my steak not coming medium rare but. More on the side of dead Gray :/

I was keen to try this place out not only for the nostalgic value but also by the fact that it is always full during lunch time whenever I come by trying to get a table for myself on my regular Thursday lunch session. We ordered for a main each with a couple of side dishes plus dessert. Spaghetti Marinara It was very good; a large serving with plenty of seafood. I was glad to see it wa

A bachelorette party for J sees our group of 20 of so kicking off celebrations at Parlamento for a hearty tasty meal on North Terrace, just across the road from the Adelaide train station/Adelaide casino .
