What can I say. We had the most amazing food last night, the atmosphere and warm night , posted under an umbrella outside made for the best experience in a long time! Each dish brought out was timed perfectly. The staff were beyond helpful and donāt get me started on the desserts, whoaaa! Just amazing! Thankyou once again, cant wait to come back!

What a great restaurant. The staff are all so friendly and they did not stop all night! The food was great. The wood oven flatbread is so good! All the mezze that we had was delicious. Ballaboosta is a great dining option.
Headed to Ballaboosta with family for a breakfast catchup. We were able to book a table which was great. Food was so delicious, my Ballaboosta breakfast hit the spot. The other food ordered was all well received and devoured by all. Good coffee selections, the flatbreads were a real winner. Indoor and outdoor seating available, definitely will go back.
Had a sensational dinner most authentic middle eastern food in Adelaide. The place has a great atmosphere about it. Fantastic pizza too. I would highly recommend it.
Adelaide's most authentic lebanese cuisine. This place is one of our favourites. It's location and indoor outdoor seating enables you to have a peaceful, quite and incredible time. I have almost tried everything on the menu and I highly recommend this place for breakfast lunch or dinner.
This is the best lebanese food in adelaide!! The chicken and kafta melt in your mouth and the salad is to die for! I love everything that I've tried on the menu and tastes just like my mother in laws cooking! Authentic!!!!!
One of my favourite restaurants. Have been a few times and the flavours are amazing. Tastes just like home cooking. On my last visit I had the fish and cabbage rolls and the flavour was perfect! The prices are also reasonable.
Lovely spot. Food was packed full of flavours and spices, exactly what you would want to expect. A little light on the lamb mince in my cabbage rolls. Food came out quick for lunch. The pita breads are fluffy and delicious (Iām told as I canāt eat them). The chai latte was creamy and spot on. Most importantly the coffee was smooth and strong. Service was good. Will be back to try the chicken skewers and perhaps a gluten free pizza.
I can't tell you how good our experience was- everything was amazing. The service was impeccable (our waiter said this was his 22nd 12 hour shift in a row which is just nuts!)- he was friendly, personable, took our order without a notepad (always impressive!) and was one of those waiters that always makes you order more without realising it coz he's that good haha. Everything on the menu looked so good, we ordered 6 dishes between the 3 of us and everything was eaten. The flavours were everything. I'm 100% going back. Oh, and it was my friend's birthday so she was treated to a sneaky little cake (the Lebanese custard pastry doused in rose water syrup- so good!) which was on the house. So lovely! We came in a little stressed and tired, left feeling happy and relaxed. Thanks for such a great dining out experience!
We had the baked eggs, omelette, sausage breakfast and garlic flatbread. Everything was amazing and you should definitely eat everything you can possibly fit. Looks like small servings, but are actually perfect portioning. Excellent breakfast spot!
This sausage breakfast was the bomb. And the ice mocha on the rocks (without the ice cream) was the best thing to have on a 38 degree day. We cleaned our plates and even ordered a second round of food and drinks!!
We had a selection of the starters to share. Everything was fresh, tasty and the portions were good and everyone had plenty. Then had a fish dish that was out of the ball park good! The prices were very reasonable. Perfect for a group of friends to catch up and share some good food.
Flavours here are beautiful, really tasty food and coffee. The negative is the serving you get for your money. It is to expensive for what really isn't generous enough to leave you feeling satisfied. A shame, because I'd come back for the quality, just can't justify leaving still feeling hungry.

Went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, and there was sufficient seating for 5 of us.
The ambience of the cafe was lovely with rustic looking exterior of the cafe front and wooden tables for outdoor seating.
We ordered a pumpkin soup, pita bread with dips, ballaboosta breakfast , chicken skewers, wild mushroom pizza and baked eggs. Pita bread was delicious, eating it alone with nothing else would just be as good.
Dips were 3/5. Ballaboosta Breakfast consist of breakfast items on a wood fired pizza like base, which was yummy - 4/5. Baked eggs were slightly disappointing as I was expecting something like a shashuka coming from a Mediterranean Cafe, but turned out to be 2 sunny side up eggs served with pita bread. Was yummy but nothing special to note - 3/5. Pumpkin soup tasted okay, it was heart warming on a cold day 3.5/5. Wild mushroom pizza was flavourful and beautifully presented. They also used a thin base for it, which I preferred. Would rate that 4/5. Overall the food was pretty good, and I would definitely go back for it.
We ordered coffees and chai lattes as well. They were above average for Adelaide's standard - 4/5.
The only grip about this place is the service. One young waitress was rather rude, as she did not acknowledge our request to wipe the table and walked off sulkily, only to come back and give the table a few wipes unwillingly. When she brought out our food, she dropped them on our table, once putting the handle of the cheeseboard on an egg of my plate, breaking the yolk. It would have been much more appreciated if she could be more delicate with the food. Other service staff were much better, so it could just be a one off thing with that particular waitress.
Overall it's a good place to relax over the weekends and enjoy delicious hearty Mediterranean food.

Had a warm coffee and chicken wrap on a cold afternoon. Was exactly what I needed. Nice place to be at with mates. Pizzas are worth a try. That's for next time.
A return visit and still love it. The wood oven head chef (owner?) is a master of his art. Falafel and flamed sausages with a wonderful lemon sauce accompanied by the trademark puffy thin pittas was followed by a simple omelette with a nice salad and 2 gorgeous pizzas with bases only seen this thin in places like Naples. Really buzzy, great coffees. A winning formula. Going again (and again, and again).
Had heard great things about the food at Ballaboosta so was very excited when a friend suggested it for a girls dinner on a Thursday night. The atmosphere and food were faultless, unfortunately I cannot say the same for the service. Initially we were attended to by a lovely waiter and then later a waitress when ordering desserts. Once we received our desserts we were ignored. We had to wave a staff member over to order a bottle of wine, which she plonked down on the table no offer to change glasses as we had gone from white to red, and no pouring of said wine. It was very strange & rude. We all felt we had overstayed our welcome and left promptly after finishing our wine.

Lovely food, pizzas were amazing. Huge range on menu. Little pricey. Big range of drinks. Booked a week before and only had option of sitting outside, lucky it wasnt raining?
This is my neighbourhood local and it is really great. Because it is so busy the friendly service could be quicker but the food is divine and more interesting than cafe fare generally. The home made pitta come out in a puffed up cloud. The fish which is my standard dinner order is always fresh and accompanied by a wonderfully tart tahini dressing. Coffee is consistently good.
Yesterday my friends and I enjoyed a long stay at Ballaboosta. Tried to have a taste of everything on the menu, we loved absolutely everything. It was cooked with love, high quality food. Was delicious! Very inviting owners and staff. We were surrounded with love and attention, and were provided with blankets and heaters (we were sitting outside). The wine was exquisite. We had a chance to choose the wine according to each person's taste. The cleanliness was unrealistic . This is now my favourite place for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Love this place , reminds me of being in Lebanon , the food tastes amazing and I highly recommend you try it , it's one of the best middle eastern foods in adelaide. Coming from a Lebanese background:)

The name Ballaboosta has been mentioned by a few of our friends, all with positive association so itās been on my list for a while. One Sunday we were on Halifax Street and decided to have breakfast there. I wasnāt sure what to expect Ā from a Middle Eastern x Mediterranean cafe but I knew they had a wood oven and mum cooking. That was enough.
Delicious! :) Rustic home style food just off Hutt st. From sitting inside the cosy restaurant with the beautiful wood oven in sight to enjoying the sun outside, Ballaboosta serves up beautiful food each and every time! Hungarian feel to the menu including stuffed cabbage leaves and chicken stew.. Coffee lovers rejoice!
What a find! We happened upon bellaboosta late on a Wednesday, when everywhere else was closed. The guys were more than happy to have us and kept the kitchen open to accommodate us. We got excellent service and an impromptu wine tasting that would not have been out of place in a local vineyard. The food was excellent and great value. Simple quality ingredients in the traditional mezze. The atmosphere was wonderful and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The coffee was also excellent. 5 stars.
Delicious breakfast pizzas from their wood fires oven. Yummy toppings from traditional bacon and eggs kinda! To spicy lamb mince. Sounds odd? It isn't.
You need to book it gets super busy on weekends now.
Have been many times. Service is good. Coffee also. And they now have a license so an evening pizza visit seems like a plan.
Why only 4/5? Well because I find the space cramped and badly laid out.

Nice little brunch place just off hutt street. Small and cosy little cafe - not ideal for walk in as it is always crowded. Indoor n outdoor seats available. I heard ballaboosta means perfect housewife that served love, laughter and perfect food - such a meaningful name.
Services - if it's how it should be ballaboosta meaning to served love then I would have to say, that Sunday arvo when I was there for lunch, services were hit and miss. The staffs were sometimes friendly and sometimes not. Seems to have the attitude of couldn't be bothered, smile and turn around with "ugh" face. Maybe it's just a bad day for them, most of the reviews have friendly services. Hopefully when i do return again, I will get a better service.
Food - food is delicious. The fresh oven baked pita is to die for. It's fluffy, soft and light. It's the perfect dip for everything. The pumpkin soup - smooth and flavoursome (again perfect with that pita). Pizza seems to be the next popular dish here, we tried the ballaboosta brekky which is oven baked pizza with mozzarella, shaved ham, cherry tomatoes and fresh crack egg. It's yummyyyyy. Thin base crust with fresh ingredients, I can finish the whole pizza without feeling guilty. The brekky pizza is so additive which makes me wanna try the different pizzas on the menu next time.
Drinks - good coffee served here, nice aroma and taste. If you are a juice lover, do try their one and only freshly squeeze orange juice. It is divine. Smoothies options available too.
Overall, love this place but was a bit put off by the services. Food and drinks save the rating for the day. Hopefully it's way better when I come back next.
I have been absolutely loving this place of late - and the difficulty getting a walk-in table shows that everyone else has too! the piping hot, fresh light pita breads are to die for! I love to social nature of lots of little share plates and dips, at a great price too!
Have visited here for a quick bite/coffee the past two days and both times I have been impressed with the quality of food/coffee and high level of customer service. An added bonuses too is that it's not a strain on your wallet. Would recommend the mushroom pizza and omelette for sure!
Great pizza, lovely service, very strong but delicious iced chocolate - an ideal location for a relaxed Saturday or Sunday catch up with friends.
Fatoush me!! The food was fantastic. Chicken was succulent and tender, fish cooked to perfection and tried the gluten free bread which was one of the best I've had.

Living in the city has itās perks and I think one of them is having good cafes, restaurants and bars within a walking distance. Ballaboosta is located just off Hutt Street, and it looks like it is already becoming a localās favourite. When we got there on a late Sunday morning, it was pretty packed. The first thing I noticed as we walked in was the statement on the wall,Ā that āBallaboostaā means āthe perfect wifeā and that they aim to provide delicious homemade meals in combination ofĀ Mediterranean and Middle Eastern style.
Came here with a group of friends for the first time last week. Adore this place! Pizza, dips and wine to die for. Beautiful, attentive staff. Can't wait to come back!
A group of us came here for a brunch. Good vibe, service, food - a great place, overall. Following a few delicious coffees, a number of dishes were had - Ballabusta breakfast, Omelette, Sausage Brekky etc. All the dishes looked very colourful, fresh and everyone was pretty pleased! Possibly the only downside is that the dishes are not very generous. Still, all very delicious and with plenty of sweet options to tempt you.
Aside from the cracking food, the service was on par if not better. Even when the weather threatened to derail the table of 7 outside seating, they sorted us out as quickly as possible and also threw in a bottle of wine for something out of their control. Over and above really. Double thumbs up
One of our monthly dinners took us to Ballaboosta at 289 Halifax St (just off Hutt St) in Adelaide. We were excited to try this place on a recommendation by a good friend of Lebanese background. Ballaboosta meansĀ "the perfect housewife, wonderful mother, gracious cook and host" in Yiddish. Ā So it's not surprising that you instantly getĀ aĀ warm vibe from this cosy little place with waves of family friendly hospitality.
Great little find just off Hutt Street. I had the Ballaboosta breakfast which was cheese, ham, cherry tomatoes and eggs on baked pita bread. It was delicious!!
So happy a place like this has opened in Adelaide. I love that the prices are very reasonable! Really good quality food, service is fantastic. Go for the knafe for dessert. It's heaven!! Will definitely be back!
First time at Ballaboosta, heard about it from a friend as they had recently been licensed. Such a cool fit out, warm but open with an alfresco feel. Delicious food, amazing service and a smashing wine list to top it off! Couldn't fault it.
Great food for great prices. Wanted something different for breakfast this morning so tried this new place after seeing it when walking past on the way to the Clipsal last week. Great coffee and great baked eggs with sausage and pita. Not oily or overly heavy. Will definitely be back. Thumb up, worth an eat
Full accolades to the informed, consistent, alert and attentive staff in both kitchen and on the floor at this restaurant.
They served the delicious food in a polite and friendly manner and were unobtrusively aware of your needs during the meal e.g replacing the empty water bottle without being asked ( how often does this happen these days !! )
Let's hope they never lose their freshness and spontaneity.
The prep and training being given here are working in spades.
At lunch today they could have filled the place twice over.

Iām yet to earn a black belt in the eating of Middle Eastern food so I decided to take a little advice from my food sensei (Rip It Up)Ā and check out Ballaboosta.
Great little place. Good coffee and well-priced meals with a Lebanese bent. Breakfasts are different from the usual and worth exploring all the options. Tucked away just off Hutt St and a good contrast to Cibo and co. Hopefully their liquor licence will emerge from the buteaucracy soon.
This is a great little place. Really tasty food and affordable. No alcohol at the moment but they are in the process of getting it. Great staff and service! Thanks will definitely be back :-)
Love the pita bread with my perfect cup of vanilla chai! Definitely worth a return for yummy breakfast. A+ for the service and environment!
After having a busy & long day I wondered down Hutt St looking for a calm, relaxing place to enjoy a coffee. Fortunately I strolled into Bellaboosta. Its atmosphere combined with the peaceful and pleasant customer service was thoroughly enjoyable. I would recommend this place certainly. The coffee was also incredible. Plus, there is a lady there whose name escapes me but a lovely young girl who is a manager. I told her about my trip to Canada and we spoke about how she had had some brief experiences in the snow, a very nice girl to meet.

With Halloween fast approaching, we headed out costume shopping, had no luck, so my thoughts went straight to dinner, much more fun! Remembering seeing this gorgeous little place a few days before, I decided this is where we were going to eat tonight! Ambience is lovely and the raw material decor is always a nice touch. We started with the Kebbi and Sambousik. Meals came out pretty quickly, happy with that. The Kebbi was delicious, comes with the puffy flat bread and hommus. Only negative on this is there is not enough hommus to accomodate both the kebbi and the bread, I would loved to have had some yoghurt as well. Instead I just ordered some more dip (babaganoush) to finish the bread off with. The Sambousik (beef pastries) were really nice too. The pastry was hand made, crisp and yum, came with puff bread as well. Again not enough hommus for the both, lucky I ordered the extra dip! Pizza then followed and was very nice, the cheese actually stretched for a change! Crispy thin base, good toppings. Dessert was Ashtalia, a Middle Eastern type pudding with rosewater, pistachios and what I believe was a syrup soaked bread, delicious. What I loved most about this place, is the price, especially for the Hutt St Precinct. Service was lovely and I will definately be returning.

Niffy cafe tucked away off Hutt St, one of the new swanky little joints to have your brekkie fix. Started with coffees and they were just right, good strength and balance. Food however wasn't particularly mind blowing in any way. We had a couple of pizzas and flat breads, that too look exactly like pizzas, and soup. Even their omelette looked like a pizza. For sweets, we had the creme brulee & Kunefes. I recommend the Kunefe... beautiful done and it isn't overpowering in sweetness.
The staff was simply lovely. They don't normally take bookings but cause we had a larger group, they gladly accommodated. All in all, a budding new cafe with lots to potential.
Great fit out, great service, great food. Just went for dinner tonight and had some of the mezze, flat breads and pizza. Everything was fresh, tasty and well priced! Loved the Kebbi, i want more! Finally good to see more places in the hutt st precinct take pride in their fit out. A very inviting place to go to, especially in winter with their wood fire oven. Definitely need to go back and try some other stuff on their menu.
Have now also gone back for coffee and good coffee it was!

Finding a dinner location on a Monday night is always a challenge due to so many establishments not opening on this night of the week.Ā Thankfully the new kid on the block 'Ballaboosta' is open and myself (Amanda) and three friends head off for a cook free Monday night dinner.Ā Seems like we are the only ones dining out this cold evening as we have Ballaboosta all to ourselves.Ā No issue for us as it means we can freely gossip away and have the chef's full attention!
I've had breakfast and lunch here recently and can't wait to go back again. Ā The coffee is delicious. Ā I have really enjoyed everything I've eaten here including the kebbi, Fattoush and bruschetta. Ā The staff are friendly and the decor is lovely. Ā Great place.

Ballaboosta is a tidy looking middle-eastern/mediterranean cafe that has popped up recently - hidden away down one of the nicer residential streets in the city just off Hutt street.
Food:
The food isn't going to blow your mind but for very reasonable prices we found ourselves enjoying the dishes we tried. The kebbi were really nice accompanied by a lovely puffy wood oven pita bread and hommus. The haloumi, although very salty, was cooked well. The fattoush was dressed well and the crunchy pita gives it good texture. The inferno and napoletana pizzas were enjoyable too. I'm definitely fussy about my pizza, and I find that it's pretty hard to make a bad pizza, but it's also really hard to make a great pizza. The pizzas here lie somewhere in between which for the price is relevant. It's actually really rare to find decent wood oven pizza for under $20 in the city.
I did also order a macchiato against my instincts (my ex-barista girlfriend always reminds me this a big no no - coffee from a machine that probably hasn't been used for a while is always a disappointment and the beans at small cafes/restaurants are usually a let down). It wasn't a great coffee - slightly burnt and not the best tasting beans.
Service:
The young lady that served us was very friendly and helpful. She also didn't discourage us from over-ordering or subtly make us feel gluttonous about it, which I find is a rare trait!
Ambience:
The fit out is really cute and cosy. The sight of brick and white/black tiles and hanging industrial lights is becoming really familiar but it definitely works. The location is great too, you could easily cruise around the city without ever stumbling across the place, but if you do it really pops out.Ā
Dish to look out for:
I enjoyed the kebbi but I look forward to my next visit to taste some other dishes.

After writing a raving review 11 months ago I am updating this due to several changes. Food is great, service questionable and the fact that I have now tried to get a seat 4 times without success due to the place taking bookings in such a small cafe environment when turn around is fast and it is not a restaurant but cafe, has turned me off bringing interstate visitors and friends to this place. When you are wanting a light easy share plate meal it shouldn't have more than 1/3 of the tables at most as bookings. This is not something I would recommend for tourists. The staff don't even offer an approximate time as to when tables may be free. This was a fab place that is losing its appeal quickly.

Out for a walk and stumbled across this new gem. Nice warm fit out complete with a wood fired oven. Food delicious and flavours amazing. Only improvement would have been an iced cold beer but the owner advised not to panic the license is coming soon.

Ballaboosta is a bustling Mediterranean fusion restaurant with a large menu. The interior is also warming and pleasant. I tried the Inferno pizza as a main meal, which was filling and tasty. It had a nice crunch, quality ingredients and served fresh out the kitchen. Some of the servers came off a bit flippant, however it was quite busy. Also purchased a coffee and baklava for takeaway, both of which were nicely constructed and provided a perfect end to the meal.
This place is pretty great! A great fusion between Mediterranean and western food. I've only tried for brunch which has been great, their dinner menu looks pretty amazing too though.
So we had the wild mushroom pizza, Sambousik and batata fries, and the food was really tasty.
The customer service was lovely, and the food came in fast.
