Love, love, love this little place. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and great food and drink make this place a worthy visit. Even the house red rocks, (compared to the swill I normally drink).
We'll be back each and every time we're staying down in Radelaide!
A great little retro gem in Leigh street food fantastic oysters and mushroom to die for staff great good selection of drinks
Hands down one of the best tapas we've had in Adelaide! The baked goats cheese, portabello mushrooms are to die for. Cool bar, cool music. We will definitely be back.
Blue cheese with truffle honey, potato bravas & the dehydrated apple gin! 5 stars! Will be back next year with my work mates! Oh & great music on vinyl! Classy joint, great staff!
I haven't eaten there yet but its a great place for G&T after a meal in the city.
Never been disappointed! Amazing food amazing drinks amazing staff I have trouble going anywhere else on a night out in the CBD best tapas in the Southern Hemisphere
First class. Excellent staff, wine list. Superb venue/ atmosphere + open basically all the time. Best spot on Leigh Street/ CBD/ Adelaide/ South Australia
Excellent food, wine and service in a tapas bar with dj on the tables next to us. Strong vibe.
Best gin joint in Adelaide. Great drinks, great food, great staff.
Went here for dinner Saturday night. The experience was amazing as usual but you blew me away with the venison back strap. I'm still salivating.
Great staff, atmosphere and delicious drinks. Udaberri is definitely a favourite of mine. Best Negroni in town - go check it out.
A perfect little venue. Although small, the atmosphere is beaming with positive energy.
You can't help feeling joy when eating at Udaberri, every plate is bursting with flavour & the finishing touches of presentation tempt you into wanting more.
The staff are incredibly lovely, they know their facts. Instead of a simple 'yep' or 'nope' when asking questions - they are happy to elaborate on why particular foods are no longer on the menu, when they will be back + why.
The staff took the time to suggest how much food we should order, and in honesty - we should have taken rheir advice as our eyes were too big for our stomachs.
The drinks are always up to standard although if you're wanting a delicious Spanish wine, the Grenache pairs perfectly with almost all of the share plates.
The only negative was how amazing the menu was - you can't help but want to try everything.
Love this place! On a rainy Friday night a group of us decided to head along the always popular Peel/Leigh st precinct which lead us to Udaberri. It was buzzing...slightly cramped and clearly popular, this place offers everything you need for a great night out... amazing food to share with friends with a large array of beverages to choose from. Staff are super friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the drinks they serve...such a cool spot :)
Great bar with an excellent spirit, wine and beer selection. It is Spanish style so they have lots of great tapas food options - I've never been disappointed. Staff are great. It looks small however there is a mezzanine section and there is another bar out the back with a great outdoor area.
Amazing food and friendly staff.
Service was spot on.
Very chilled atmosphere. The mushrooms with the egg yolks and feta cheese bread were the bestđź‘Ť.
great atmosphere and service, really cool vibes sitting and eating at the bar watching your food being prepared. cocktails were reasonably priced and well prepared. The food was definitely the highlight
Everything was perfect, loved the extensive gin list, inviting staff, ammmmazing mushroom and chorizo dishes honestly couldn't rate this highly enough!
Udaberri is the perfect place to go for a quick bite and casual drink. The setting is relaxed and the crowd is of all ages. They serve tapas style fare which is perfect to share with friends. Lots of drinks on offer including an extensive selection of flavoured gin and cocktails. The espresso martinis seemed to be a big hit with the crowd. Great service and a good central location. Seating is mainly at the bar or outdoors. Pop in when you're next heading out in that part of the city, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Whether you live in Adelaide or just visiting you must come to Udaberri in West End.
There is nothing to fault here. The cocktails are heavenly, the wine list extensive and the tapas are sensational.
Top this with attentive service from very attractive male and female bar staff, plus some very appealing 70s funk music, played by their resident djs and you have all the bases covered.
Rate this place 6/5 if possible.
Small yet cosy late night bar (even on weeknights) with such a chill vibe ur guaranteed to always meet a friendly face here. Deelish gin cocktails, good wine and lovely tapas (jamĂłn especially). Will continue coming here. Love Leigh St :)
Came here on Friday night after landing in Adelaide from Sydney. Came across Udaberri on zomato and decided to check it out...after our experience there with food, drinks and service, it is the definition of AMAZING! Ordered portobello mushrooms, scallops and white sardines, was mind blown by all the dishes...awesome, attentive and warm staff was the cherry on top. Great non pretentious vibe...this place is a must to check out...I would fly down to Adelaide again just to come in a second time!
Awesome. Drinks are drinks really but for atmosphere, chicks spinning vinyl on a Monday night and food - outstanding. Visited with Chilean and Argentinian mates who were equally impressed. New addition to my top cluster. Decor is now almost beyond trend - this will/borderline has dated Less 0.5 for decor - not bad, just a bit 'everywhere'.
Despite the insurgence of 'small' bars in Adelaide's CBD, Udaberri on Leigh Street remains one of the best places to drink - and eat. There are many good things going for this place: they have cool music, an extensive drinks list including beers, wines and spirits, they have excellent service, topnotch food, and a great atmosphere.Â
Despite visiting Udaberri many times before, we have never eaten there. So on our most recent visit, we arrived early on a Friday evening for dinner. The place was unusually quiet so we were able to get a seat right at the bar, next to the kitchen. More often, particularly late at night and on the weekend, Udaberri is very busy. They also don't take bookings so it can be difficult to find a table or bench to eat from.Â
On this occasion, two of us ordered all share plates. We had potatoes, the mushrooms, chorizos, baked chevre cheese and cured tuna. Chevre cheese was the night's best dish. All others were also very good, but probably wouldn't reorder the tuna again. Prices were very reasonable - around $60 for two people, including a round of drinks.Â
Will return here next time with more people to try the shared 1 kilo rib-eye steak.
Can appreciate this place. It's a bar with good food, good drinks and good tunes. They aren't going out of their way to stand out but what they offer they do well and that's all you need isn't it? Keep it up yo.
Some might consider it overpriced but udaberri aims to offer a quality experience both with their wide selections of food and drinks. A classy place to catch up with mates in a modern environment.
I really enjoy coming to Udaberri. The set up is ok as it can get easily crowded inside. However, it offers a great selection of hang-out and seating options - in front on Leigh St, inside at the main bar, in the back courtyard, and upstairs!
The vibe is consistently good. Amaretto sour is to die for - yum! What's not to love!
Funky place. DJ spinning vinyls after work on a Friday night. Authentic looking pintxos place - if you've ever been to Spain you will slip in here quite nicely.
Great bar on Leigh St. Some of the best cocktails in town. Sit by the bar (if you can get a seat, it's pretty packed) and watch the bartender skilfully make your cocktail. A friend got a cocktail that had "basque" in the name, which was next level. The garnish alone was a large chunk of honeycomb dripped with absinth and a cinnamon stick that was lit up. Other recommendations would be the Rosetta Stone and the espresso martini. There's a beer garden-like area around the back and an upstairs area with Chesterfield couches and seats by the railing to look down at the bar. Great drinks and a great atmosphere.
You know you'll always find a nice cosy atmosphere at Udaberri. Personally I like to sit at the bar on the mezzanine, keeping a watchful eye over everything happening down below. The wine list is extensive, sure to please everyone from the novice to the snob and the tapas plates are extremely tasty, offering great nibbles to accompany an afterwork drink or 2.
Now living in Melbourne, I get the opportunity to go to Adelaide around once a year. It is a great place to explore new food and wine options, or return to the better places you have found. There is only one place however, that I go to on every single trip. Stepping into Udaberri Pintxos Y Vino feels like you have set off for Barcelona, or maybe even San Sebastian. It is popular, a mix of people sitting at tables, on the bar, or standing around, most having a drink and many enjoying some tapas. It is quite dark, but for the well lit bar area, with several intimate spaces dispersed up and down stairs.
It's the ideal catch up after work drinks cocktail bar, it is always busy and if it's busy it must be good?
It is main patron clientel range are late 20s-30s upwards and has quite a corporate feel about it.
It's classy and the quality of the cocktails is there but so is the price.
Definitely a must if you like bar hopping pop in....
Espresso martini's are raved about from here.
If you prefer quality to quantity look no further than this squishy wine bar. I say squishy because on a Fri night you'll be lucky to get in let alone a space at the bar. Well worth it though, bite sized meals are packed full of Spanish flavour and matched perfectly with a nice glass of Touriga. Great selection of boutique wines, small batch tap beers and tunes to keep you happy all night.
Gorgeous wine bar with a brilliant wine list, as well as great beers and cocktails. The tapas menu is simple and delicious. Great atmosphere, too.
So within the span of a month, we dropped in to Udaberri 3 weekends in a row! The staff may have recognised our faces by now as we’re always occupying the back kitchen bench seat whilst tackling their constantly and ever changing menu of tapas and pintxos. Udaberri sits in the west end of the city, smack bang on Leigh Street amongst other neighbouring hip bars and restaurants, some of which have become our absolute favourites. The dimly lit bar is small and narrow yet warm and cozy; the cocktail bar runs along most of the length of their space with a small open kitchen towards the back, there’s a small outdoor bar area out back and an upstairs area too.
Yum yum yummo...expresso martini! 3 beans placement perfecto :)
About as cool as it gets. Probably our highlight while visiting Adelaide was going to this place. Great drinks menu, awesome atmosphere and great staff. We pulled up a seat at the kitchen and the two chefs were so good to talk to. Being able to watch them do their thing while chatting to us was pretty neat. The food was also very tasty. I would say it would rank as one of my best eating/drinking experiences
Can do no wrong. Amongst the theme park that Leigh and Peel Sts have become this is a chic staple that never fails to deliver.
We happily perched at the bar for a couple of hours, and managed to put together a very decent dinner from the sharing plates on offer. Nothing terribly sophisticated, but delicious simple food, interesting range of drinks, and friendly staff. Particularly enjoyed the croquetas de bacalao.
I tried food I wouldn't usually and I couldn't get enough. Just beautiful. Small venue so get in early!
Food is quite good. Music eclectic. Alcohol alright. Great place for young trendies with too much disposable income.
Espresso Martinis and Herbed Potatoes. An odd mix you might say, and it is, but that was my Saturday night.
My friend and I ordered the espresso martinis (please try them you will melt into a caffeinated haze), alongside a trio of tapas style dishes; spicy chorizo, herbed potatoes and these little balls of deep fried mashed potato with cod in the middle.
A little on the dearer side (four drinks and three tapas plates was $80+) but absolutely worth it.
Cosy, cute, intimate, delicious.
Great Atmosphere. Despite the lack of "tables" for eating, remember this is a wine bar, the ambiance was wonderful. The service and food were great. Add in a good selection of wines and you have a winner.
It's a bit hard to find the first time, especially in the dark. The name over the door is not lit. Keep looking until you find it!
Too bad I can't find something like Udaberri in Melbourne.
Adelaide needs more of this!! We fell in love walking in and the excitement grew as I had an Americano cocktail and we chilled on the couch loving the chilled atmosphere. Gorgeous and exciting!
This is hands down, the best bar in Adelaide.
One of the best martinis I've ever had, fantastic bar for drinks and delicious tapas selection. Highly recommend popping in here!
Love the vibe, Adelaide needs more places like this! Great spot for drinks and a light dinner or nibbles. Yummy tapas, have been there a handful of times & will be back again!
Love this place! Delicious food, tasty drinks & nice vice. Staff look like they have fun & enjoy being at work. Seriously love that little blonde waitress... Nice shorts
Finally a Pintxos Bar. Pintxos bars are few and far between in Australia. Some places claim to serve pintxos (many of them without even spelling the word correctly), so Udaberri is a welcome addition to the scene. Whilst the selection of pintxos is simple, the choices are traditional Basque pintxos, so these guys have clearly done some homework. Apparently, we can expect to have some changes and additions to the menu which will bring me back for sure.
The best little hot spot in Adelaide. Great bubbles and cocktails. Fabulous food and service.
Fantastic bar, with great food, great drink selection, and amazing fitout! Just what Adelaide needs.
Perfect little venue for drinks with great djs every night, light and simple yet tasty tapas and a great selection of Spanish wines. The venue is warm, eclectic and always busy - we definitely need more places like this in Adelaide.
My mind is made up.. I love the concept - small, bite-sized morsels to accompany your beverage. I don't know about you, but I often can't make up my mind what flavours I'm in the mood for. Pintxos is my answer. A little bit of this, a bit of that. I had chorizo, oysters (freshly shucked might I add), and an array of tooth-picked delights, freshly prepared from the open kitchen (loved watching the chefs at work). This was accompanied by a glass of Arneis, from a great looking wine list. I can't wait to go back again and see what else these boy's are serving up. Well done.
Awesome bar, simple tapas selection and great drinks menu. Very helpful staff. Be sure to get there early on the weekend to get a seat.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I'll be back next weekend!
This bar brings me back to my Euro travels. Serving up Pintxos, the Basque region’s version of tapas – simply amazing food! Ever tried pintxos before? ( Udaberri ) 4. The Warradale (Front Bar/Pub) The Warradale boasts a spacious bistro and an inviting garden/verandah bar. These guys are serving up some great pub food and pretty much round the clock specials so check them out if you haven’t already. ( The Warradale ) 5. Press Food & Wine (Wine Bar) Press have an amazing looking menu and I’ve worked through a number of the items – make sure you try the burger !! ( Press Food & Wine ) 6. Fumo Blu (Cocktail Bar) Fumo is one of my all time favourites. A late night venue that has been serving up fantastic cocktails for years. You can’t go wrong with any of their cocktails – the staff have great product knowledge to impress too. ( Fumo Blu ) 7. The Highway (Front Bar/Pub) The Highway has won a stream of AHA awards and
My recommendations include the bocadillos – tortillas served with caramelised onion or smoked chicken with thinly sliced potato and omelette and the oven baked, apple cider glazed chorizo. The tinned seafood, including anchovy fillets, mussels or Spanish tuna are a far cry from anything produced by John West.

This place has a really 'cool' vibe, great range of drinks, friendly staff and a rustic looking kitchen. Â I took a few photos of the interior, but it didn't really do it justice. Â You have to visit it to experience it. Â Beautifully presented : Coffin Bay Oysters with Champagne Vinegar.
by Alex on May 1, 2012 in Bar Reviews date of visit: Thursday 26 April 2012 Udaberri Pintxos y Vinos is the new cool kid on Adelaide's bar scene. It's at the northern end of Leigh Street, and if you don't know it's there and you're not looking you won't spot it.
A fun and popular place for a casual drink and snack. Definitely try the oysters ($3 each) if you like them shucked to order. Some of the best I've ever had in a bar or restaurant at a reasonable price.
