This was an amazing place for dinner. We had a surprise engagement dinner held by our friends for my fiancé and I on Saturday night. All the staff were really good and especially with my partner as she is a coeliac and thus eats gluten free. Not only was she getting great food she could actually eat but the staff were great. In particular one of the waitresses we had I think her name was Dee. The service she gave us was incredible and how she helped my partner with what she could and couldn't eat throughout the evening was great. She really made our night special.
So great food and great service this place deserves five stars. As for Dee, you should definitely hold on to her because she's something special.
I've eaten at Melt CBD twice and both times have been exceptional. The staff looking after our table were fantastic and the quality and range of food was outstanding. I can't rave about this place enough. Get around it!
I couldn't find anything to critisize. Each staff member I made eye contact gave me a great smile like it was my friend felt so comfortable and welcomed and that wasn't the food the food was Devine pizza had a perfect Crips but still soft and the fresh oven feel I've never tried pizza like this before. Amazing
I was at the Hyde Park Melt tonight with a fairly decent sized clan. I'm intolerant/allergic/sensitive to everything in the world ever, and I know how difficult i can be to try and cater/alter meals around. The main waiter who served our table (he will know who he is), was SO accommodating, didn't once seemed phased by my dietary requirements and allowed me to enjoy the experience just like everyone else. So to your Hyde Park staff, thank you, and to the waiter, triple and quadruple thank you, for being so groovy, and warm, and accommodating.
(And for letting me have extra capers on my pizza)
I don't usually write reviews but I wanted to again show my appreciation for the staff at Melt for the exceptional customer service I received on Saturday night, at such short notice. After not knowing what to do with 15 of my friends for dinner on a Saturday night, after Antica Cucina E Pizzeria not having my reservation when we arrived there. We contacted Melt and they kindly accommodated us all within the hour. Melt has always been one of my favourite restaurants, the food is exceptional and the customer service is always second to none and it was no different on Saturday night. Thank you again for such a great experience.
This place was amazing! The food was delicious and the staff were lovely. Would definately recommend.
Some of the best pizzas in the world. At least equal to New York's and Connecticut's finest.
Beautiful food fantastic service great value. Love this place.
Great food , excellent Pizza friendly service and nice atmosphere. Very cosmopolitan.
I love it. :-)
.
The interior is super sophisticated and cosy and the pizza was so so good. Thought it was a bit pricey but I honestly think the flavour and experience makes up for it. Of course, it's not an everyday meal but for an occasional treat with friends it is well worth it.
Really rate the tapas here! Went out for dins with my flatmates and we shared gnocchi, halloumi, chicken wings, salad, and three pizzas. The fungi pizza was knockout, and the gnocchi was light as a feather. Wine list is an interesting and carefully selected mix of local SA varietals & wine from further afield. Will definitely be back with my partner for a date night as the cozy and classy vibe would be perfect for this!
Melt is a great pizza place to visit if you like a bit of creativity in your pizza. My go to is the vegan "surprise" pizza, which is made from whatever the chef feels like on the day and usually incorporates broccolini and other delicious veggies. I've also tried the duck and a few other pizzas which have all been pretty good! Well worth a visit (or an UberEats delivery) if you haven't been!
I had been to press next door and was very keen to try melt and the opportunity finally
Arose for a birthday party. We had a shared menu and everything we had was quite enjoyable. The atmosphere of the ace is fantastic and always busy. Staff just like press are absorbed fantastic. They are extremely knowledgeable on the food and very helpful when it came to catering for a vegan member of our group
Beautiful food and beautiful service! Fun and outgoing atmosphere and couldn't have had a better night at an amazing place. Everyone was incredibly friendly and wouldn't complain about a thing! All of my five stars and more!!
Fantastic place, fantastic food ... Absolutely hands down the best mushroom pizza I've ever had with a hint of truffle... The duck calzone is also delicious. All time favourite place in Adelaide for pizza and tapas!
We had 8 tapas dishes between 4. They were all pleasant enough, though the serves are small and quite expensive: I got home still hungry. On a Saturday night the place was packed with mostly young people in groups and the noise level fearsome, not helped by pounding music reaching into every corner. Not a place, I'd say, for anyone over 30 who wants to have a conversation. Quick and cheerful service.
The patatas pizza and pate were divine! Great service
along with good value ... can't go wrong with that .
Glad we stumbled across it, highly recommended
Great food. Lovely service. Thin crispy pizza. Nice venue with good aircon and decent bathrooms.
Eat here anytime.
We were a large group of 25 and they brought all the food in the right order. Times well. Hot and fresh. Couldn't fault anything.
Came for dinner on Friday night.
Great ambience, staff were very friendly and attentive. Great selection of tapas and pizzas. Everything we tried was delicious.
Really enjoyed it. Highly recommended
Enjoyed a light meal Saturday night. The place was packed and we were offered a seat at the bar which felt a bit weird looking at the hard working cooks but was okay overall! Very noisy place but kind of to be expected. Good service being offered water regularly and the menu explained. Went with 'The Turk' - pizza, mince, yoghurt, sumac, something green and ... Took a while to 'like' with the mince but it grew on us. Accompanied by the pear, rocket, walnut, goats cheese salad which was yummo! Thank you and pretty good value overall
Our best experience in Adelaide yet. We merely stumbled upon this by accident and we were super happy that we did so. We were greeted by friendly staff and received fantastic service throughout the evening. Inside the restaurant was spacious and comfortable. The tapas specials on offer were sensational, as was the pizza. Would definitely return.
We went there with a big group of people and had to have the shared table. Everyone really enjoyed the different plates of food that were served. My biggest complaint is that the food were brought out too slowly. We were there at 8pm and by the time we got dessert pizza it was probly 10 or 10.30.
Took away a Pear, rocket, walnut and goats cheese salad ($14). The service was prompt - I was in and out of the restaurant in what was probably 10 minutes. The salad was fantastic. Fresh ingredients, and very well balanced flavours. There was a generous amount of goats cheese in the salad, but not so much that it was overpowering. The salad had some sort of light, balsamic dressing which I really loved.
Can't wait to try the other menu items!
Fantastic food. I ordered the patatas (potato) pizza which was a very interesting meal. The base was crispy and tasty without being too thick or watery. There was a good number and combination of toppings as well. Good service and ambiance as well.
Came here for Work End of Financial Year Lunch, and ordered the 'Fixed Menu'. I was really happily surprised with the tapas, The Haloumi with Red Onion was amazing. However, we requested 'The Turk' pizza and the 'Patatas' pizza as two of the four pizzas in the fixed lunch. The 'Patatas' pizza did not arrive, but this mistake was swiftly dealt with, as we received a free pizza in compensation, and the 'Patatas' pizza was cooked immediately. Waitresses did seem a little disinterested, however the overall menu choices and differing flavours made up for this. Really enjoyable lunch and a vast wine menu.
Food was pretty decent especially the entrees. For a specialty pizza pace the toppings weren't that crazy special. For a place that has a bar the ability to at least pay for individual drinks would be nice instead of having to split the entire bill. Oh and the espresso martini was served at room temperature :-/ overall a good night had though.
Implacable experience! The food, service, drinks... everything was exceptional! Robin was a top class hostess! Highly Recommend the CBD lunch special!
It's a hip and happening place this Melt. I was in a group of 5 and we had the share menu. The tapas plates were all delicious and well presented. The Haloumi nicely pan fried and served with lemon. The Pizza's were all delicious and my fav was the pepperoni. The pizza bases are very thin and dry. I prefer thin and chewy however that's only my preference and not a negative.
The pizza share meal is amazing!
Staff are always accommodating to preferences for the sharing course selection
Fantastic service, food and wine menu.
Been here a few times and never been disappointed!
We had the set menu as we needed to get in and out quickly.
Staff were great - they kept us filled up with drinks in between courses and the food was fresh and so good.
Great starters, great pizza, all round great place. Have been half a dozen times and it never disappoints. Great for a big group or a dinner for two. My personal favourites are the Jamon pizza and I love the beans!!!
For a biggish group, this place is perfect. At $40 per person for food, we were served a good selection of entrée dishes, followed by about 4/5 different types of pizza, which we were not able to finish. And of course, to finish off, they served a dessert pizza - chocolate with nuts and cream. Just SO yum!
The service was impeccable - efficient, fast and friendly. It was a hot night and our glasses of water were constantly being refilled. We had quite a few Espresso Martinis which were pretty decent.
All in all, a great spot, food and service. Highly recommend!
Melt offers a modern a style; combining the thin base model with creative ingredients that may not classically belong on a pizza. I applaud the crispiness of their thin base; there's nothing worse than a soggy thin base (unless you're seedily hungover and only feeling the greasy vibes). For the toppings choice, I liked that they had a variety of intriguing choices, though that did make the choice a lil hard. We went for the patatas which I rate; portions of crushed potato (talk about double carbs) atop mozzarella and precious porcini and truffle which gave delectable bursts of salty flavour and walnuts adding a fun crunch. Our other choice; the Turk was a tad of a let down. The description (lamb, pomegranate, provolone, pine-nuts, yoghurt and mint) yeilded high expectations, but I didn't like that it was lamb mince instead of actual lamb meat as mince doesn't match so well on pizza; taste or texture wise and just felt a bit cheap. Though the overall pizza wasn't too bad. Ambience is nice and I adored the cute wine shelf canvassed across the wall. Overall, lacks authenticism and plays to the modern palate but hey don't feel bad, it still tastes pretty darn good.
I went here as part of a 16 person table on a Saturday night. Hats off to the waiters and chefs! The place was packed but not once did the service or food diminish. We were extremely looked after. The food worked well, came out staggered which allowed us to enjoy each dish. All the pizzas were amazing but I have to say the mushroom pizza was my fav!

I love Melt! Fantastic atmosphere, the perfect place for a dinner with friends or a nice date. The tapas menu is fantastic, my favourites are the green beans with chilli and the gnocchi. The pizzas are great, thin crispy bases with minimal but tasty toppings. My favourite pizzas are the mushroom and the pumpkin with anchovies. Oh and don't forget the Nutella pizza with cream and pistachios! One of my favourite places to eat in Adelaide. I recommend it all the time.
I need to say I'm really surprised if the great quality of service and food. I like the whole idea with Tapas and the combination of Pizza. We had Tapas and a pizza Margarita ... Very authentic and topped with freshly cut basil and shaved Parmesan. I really can recommend this new place.
Food was good, venue was good, our waitress (Emma) was great! She really made our night, recommendin a great wine and totally on the ball from the get go. Personable engaging and just a 10/10... Loved the whole atmosphere here highly recommend to all our friends
Great food. Fantastic service. Amazing wine selections. Cant go wrong.
Best place for pizzas in Adelaide. Good wine list and service is always great no matter which melt I go too. Love this place.
The greatest downfall at Melt was choosing the set menu for my first dining experience. The "tapas" wasn't really tapas and we were given no option for pizzas for the mains (there are only two between four, so we probably could have). That aside, the pizzas were really nice. I love a good thin crust pizza, and that's what they offer. So over all, the pizzas were great, the "tapas" wasn't really worth it, and service was efficient and friendly.
Pizzaaa. Pizza itself, like all foods. by itself nothing special. but when put everything together, is a great place.
We had made a reservation and were seated very quickly. The music was BLARING and we asked the waitress to turn it down. Not a good place for a quiet, romantic dinner (which we were trying to do!!). Anyway, we ordered gnocchi which was amazing, margarita pizza which was pretty dull and way too crispy and then a fungi pizza which was also amazing. So besides from one over-cooked, tasteless pizza the food was 10/10. Service was friendly and the price point wasn't too bad. Nice place for a Friday night drink/tapas but too loud to have a nice quiet dinner.
Service please!. After drinking 2 beverages each before the food even arrived we were on the slippery slope downhill. Lovely waitress, delicious food but just wayyyy too long for our first couple of tapas dishes to arrive
I've eaten here twice in the last couple of weeks and it's been great. First occasion was my vegetarian son's 18th birthday and there was a broad menu for him to choose from, we each had a tapas and shared pizzas between two and it was plenty. Second time (I was impressed enough to want to return a week later) with girlfriends and again the tapas were inventive, delicious and generous in their portions which made it really good value. Friendly staff, funky vibe and fabulous food.
Great restaurant. I love Melt. Great food. Great wine. I think for what you pay, it is quite reasonably priced. My friend and I ordered two pizzas, a salad, two glasses of prosecco and two glasses of wine and the total bill came to $96 or so. Thank you for a great dinner.
Almost Institutional by Comparison. Melt felt almost institutional compared with the small bars and Fringe venues now popping up in Adelaide.
Us four , just sixty, chose stools ahead of chairs to prove that we weren't too old to get into the scene.
Having mounted the stools , for ease , our choice was then the 'banquet ' - a mix of anti pasto and pizza - it was delivered by charming staff - one a first nighter.
It was all good - reliable , tasty , competent.

Went here with my partner for vday. I have been to the Hyde Park location, while it's his first time trying out melt. Striking difference with the Hyde Park melt is that this one is definitely bigger. Food wise, I didn't see much difference with regard to the taste. We had the set menu. The service though is slower. They just stuffed up our dessert. We practically reminded them about it. I will probably go here again. My expectations will be lower.
Vegan Friendly!. I'm always cautious about trying places that don't promote themselves as vegan-friendly restaurants, so it's always a pleasure to stumble across places that are happy to cater for me!
As soon as I told the staff member that was serving my friend and I that I am vegan, she immediately offered that the chefs could make me up a vegan pizza. Perfect! From their extensive wine list I was able to find a nice bottle of Shiraz that was also vegan friendly (with the help of Barnivore.com).
When the dessert menu was brought back, she said that the chocolate and pistachio dessert pizza was vegan friendly also - with the slight alteration that the Frangelico cream came on the side for my friend.
An excellent dining experience, having come in off the street with no booking on a Saturday night there were no tables available, but we were very comfortably seated at the bar. Great atmosphere, great service. Very satisfied vegan.
Hit the mother lode at Melt. As Newbies to the town of Adelaide, we knew our first few forrays may be a bit hit and miss but we remained determined to seek until we had found. After giving up on random ventures and turning instead to R&D, Friday night saw us visiting Melt. On entry we knew we had found something special. We were greeted warmly and shown to the last remaining perch at the bar. It was our lucky night. As we grazed on extremely good tapas and pizza, cocktails were mixed for us right in front of our eyes. The tapas board had a pleasing range to choose from. Our white anchovie dish matched the pork belly dish perfectly. The wine selection is also very good and compliments the food. Plus, to top it all off, the service was professional and personal, all in one. What a night. We will be visiting Melt again. Oh, and did I mention that I have found a place that really knows how to make a Negroni? Mmmmm Negroni.
Consistently fantastic food and service. Bloody love this place. & Scotty who runs the kitchen is a top bloke
Fresh & funky - salads are second to none & the margarita pizza is among the best in Adelaide!
Good for a cheap feed. Nice little nook for a cheap lunch in the CBD. It's off the well-trodden path, so it's not packed for lunch. I prefer the next-door restaurant, but if that's overflowing, this isn't a bad fall-back option. Spare toppings on the pizzas, just the way i like it. Loved the white anchovies and egg, very yummy.
Plentiful Pizza. Melt pizza bases are deliciously crispy, without being dry. The "Patatas" and "Funghi" varieties were ordered to share amongst two and did not disappoint. Along with an entree of hummus and lamb dip + pita bread (yum!), this was more than enough to cater for a pair of food-loving phillies. Bonus points go to this establishment for continuous food service throughout the afternoon, instead of closing between standard lunch and dinner times, like many eateries.
Amazing Pizza in Adelaide. If you like gourmet pizzas, this is the place to go. Their menu has an amazingly diverse range of pizzas - the toppings sometimes read a bit odd (e.g. scallop with peas and shallots on a truffle salsa), but if you have the courage to try new things, you will be surprised how well the flavour combinations go. When I'm sick of supreme, ham and pineapple, bbq chicken or Margheritas all the time - that's when I come to Melt.
A lot of people like the share plate. It's a pretty good selection of tapas and pizzas and a good option if you're not sure what to choose. Personally I would recommend just ordering a combination of tapas and pizzas yourself. You get better choice that way.
Tapas vary on the day but the white anchovy and egg gribiche always features and is a winner. The baked polenta with speck and paprika baked potatoes are also tasty. As for the pizzas, the pepperoni is amazing - don't be fooled by its simplicity. Broccolini and Scallop will also surprise you how good they are.
Funky eclectic modern decor with a young and hipster vibe. Tapas were brilliant. Make sure you have plenty of time available if ordering their $37 per person deal as the courses are spread out. Not really a fan of thin and crispy pizzas but the rest of my group seemed to like it. Dessert pizza is interesting. Would save this place for special occasions only.
Everything about this place is amazing. Sister restaurant in Hyde Park is possibly a little better but that's only because of the setting. Great food fantastic service and a spot on vibe. LOVE
Excellent value when doing the set menu option with a large group. We had 9 people and there were generous servings for $37 per head exc drinks. I'm a tough critic and all the food was excellent, from the tapas entrees to the pizzas to the dessert (pizza!). Can't wait to go here again.
Tapas. The tapas are delicious here. Everything came out quite quickly and tasted great and looked fresh. Will definitely be back.
A crowd pleaser. A delicious selection of tapas and decent pizzas too. Much nicer than your stock-standard pizzeria.
My favourite Adelaide eatery. What's not to love? A great spot to head with friends for a casually chic dinner. Great sharing platter options, a good wine list and a lovely atmosphere.
I love the Hyde Park Melt too, but prefer the atmosphere and location of the CBD restaurant.
Outstanding food. Very attentive staff. Much better than king william rd.
So impressed. Had white anchovies, green beans, risotto balls and haloumi tapas. All outstanding. Then pizza also great. Fantastic.
Share plate - do it!. If there are 2 of you I would definitely get the share plate option - you will definitely not leave hungry and will get the chance to sample many of the delicious tapas style options! YUM!
Love their scallop pizza n duck pizza
Went to Melt last night, really busy. Food really good, interesting wine. Waiting staff fantastic...will definitely be back!!!
Small but tasty. Well tapas is small serves so when my friend and i wanted a late but quality bite we ordered 3 tapas and a salad to share. left satisfied and not bulging. really tasty and good quality. salad full of pear, walnuts and fresh tasting goats cheese which was nice because sometimes ordering a dish with a white cheese can taste like the packets been opened too long and too many chefs have dipped into it. this looked and tasted fresh - yay. thanks melt. not cheap but a good treat and can taste the effort and care!
Excellent!. Cold wet & windy outside - warm & inviting inside. Great service, good wine & excellent pizza and tapas. Have been many times and has never failed.
Really cool atmosphere. Great music. Delicious "tapas style" pizza. Definitely recommend.
Still got it. It has been quite a while since we dined at Melt and it was as good as I remembered. The pizzas rocked and the tapas were so tasty, the gnocchi and the salt and pepper eggplant were stand outs for me.
Yummity-yummity-yuuumma. Really super enjoyed a luncheon here...my fave kind of food! Yes, I like to taste lots of delicious morsells, and apparently this isn't otherwise socially accepatable at places when everyone orders their own meal. Or so I have been *told*. Anyway, we did the $28 a head lunch and was burstingly full by the end of it. The shared tapas was everything I would have ordered anyway had I been ordering off the menu: the hommus with minced lamb and side of oven fresh flat bread, some zucchini flower croquettes, pumpkin frittata with capsicum and basil sauce of some kind (trust me, it was good) and finally generous slabs of gooey yet squeeky haloumi...then came the pizza and salad! i was astonished by the amount of food for the price; you can barely get a tasting plate at a pub these days for that amount. Staff and service were fantastic; even though the $28 deal means you are supposed to get what ever the chef makes for you, they were perfectly accomadating with my friend's special hankering for the scallop and truffle oil pizza.
Seriously, the only people that seem to have reviewed this place badly are those concerned with "allergies"....What the fork are you doing going to a pizza place if you are supposedly allergic to bread/gluten? What's it going to do to you anyway, make you a little gassy? Stay home and eat a boiled potato and don't bother the rest of civalized society with your fussy eating.
Best Pizza in the CBD. For the best pizza in the CBD you can't go past Melt, the tappas and selection of wines is also fantastic.
The service is friendly and efficient, the food is amazing. Its a little pricey but it's worth it!
Very nice. I was a bit worried after seeing some of the reviews, but had a yummo experience. Had lunch with a friend and shared some tapas and the most amazing rocket, pear, walnut and goat's cheese salad. Out waiter was polite and pleasant and overall was a lovely experience that I hope to repeat soon.
Great service, great pizza & fun vibe. We'll go back!!
Nice but kinda boring. The pizza was nice, the service was good and i like the decor but the tapas where very basic and not very interesting or modern. we had a tapas salad of baby spinach, chorizo & potatoes. it was very boring and not really tapas more like left over pizza toppings. i like this adelaide restaurant group but they need more exciting chefs in their venues then this place would really shine.
Good fun. We have been here a coupe of times and had various tapas courses. Always friendly, always fun and value for money. We enjoy going here and will continue to go, it's relaxed laid back and we always enjoy ourselves. It's what casual should be.

This was my second time eating at Melt, and it was just as good as the first at their other location on King William Road. The Waymouth Street restaurant has a green theme – it runs through the tiles, the website and even into the water jugs, which are packed with fresh mint leaves to make tap water refreshing. We opted for the CBD lunch special – a selection of tapas, pizzas and salads, and were amazed at the high quality of every single dish. The tapas included fried zucchini balls with an amazing mayonnaise, pan-fried haloumi, the best baba ganouch I’ve ever had and chilli green beans. This was promptly followed by three pizzas (between five people) – ‘albondigas’, with Spanish meatballs and cherry tomatos, ‘funghi’, with mushrooms, egg and watercress, and ‘the 38′, with zucchini, speck and mint. I’d requested ‘funghi’ as it was my favourite last time, but this time I was sold on ‘the 38′ – the flavours were perfect for spring and very fresh. All the bases were lovely and thin with just the right amount of crispiness. I absolutely expect there to be third, fourth and fifth visits here, at the very least.
We’d heard a lot about this city hot spot and we were excited to try it. The restaurant was fairly quiet when we arrived as we had an early booking, but it soon became evident why bookings can be hard to come by. Our little table by the front window was away from the main group of tables but unfortunately we were obscured by people sitting at the bar and we were forgotten about for a good 15 minutes. From then on though the service was flawless, very attentive and polite. We sampled a couple of tapas items to share which ranged from average to sheerly delightful; so much so in fact we ordered seconds. There are so many enticing tapas items on the evolving menu it’s hard to choose just which ones to have. The pizza is undeniably good and we were craving just a few more of the delectable meatballs on the Albondigas pizza, they were amazing! The atmosphere is buzzing and it’s obvious why this eatery has become a popular destination in Waymouth Street. Definit

This was hubby's first time at Melt and he said it was probably the best 'real' pizza he's had in Adelaide, for me it was definitely as delicious, fresh and original as my last visit.
