Six of us had breakfast there this morning.
Absolutely beautiful little place! Beautiful, tasty, fresh food!
excellent service!
A truly wonderful experience..
It has a very cosmopolitan vibe.
Just the best!
Love this place. The food is very yummy and the staff are beautiful. The whole feel of the place is very relaxing.
On Sunday, we visited you guys for the first time, and damn the food was great! but the service was even better. We were sat outside as you guys were super pumping and it began to rain- the waitress then keep a sharp eye on all patrons inside and once a table became available politely moved us inside so we didn't get saturated, however, she was also kind enough to place a heater near my husband so that I didn't freeze, gee that girl is a gem and your waffles are to die for... Cheers for being great!
One of my favourite Saturday morning brunch spots. Troppo consistently offers friendly service and the staff are always keen to accommodate - they are even kind to our furry friends who regularly join us! The food is always great with plenty of vego options and they offer cheaper alternatives for those on a budget. I love that this cafe supports sustainable practices too! Unsurprisingly, Troppo often gets packed, so it's best to get there early. Keep doing what you're doing! <3
Loved my first visit here. The food and coffee was excellent!! I highly recommend trying it out. Definitely a place I will return to.
Stumbled upon this little gem. Food and service was great, the whole style of the cafe is cool. Cool little toilets too.
Even the water tasted good. Thanks for helping a hangover go away
It was great to find a funky and Eco friendly cafe, loved the food and coffee, my partner hates ice in his ice chocolates more ice cream is what he's after. Will definitely be back for sure and recommend to our vegetarian friends when they visit!
Best place ive ever been to eat breakfast!
Recommend becoming a regular at this wonderful adelaide gem!
Amazing. Absolutely loved the menu and decor. The live music was amazing 10/10 will come back. ❤️☕️🎵
Loved it and will highly recommend it. Laid back and friendly staff + good food reasonably priced. Going back there soon and taking some new friends to check it out
First time ever been and the atmosphere was amazing - the coffee is the best I've ever had and the almond croissant is a 10/10. So yummy. Will be coming back for me.
Without doubt best coffe in Adelaide, fruit toast to die for.
Had the most delicious breakfast! And wasn't shamed by the staff for ordering a Decaf coffee- which was expertly made without prejudice
The lunch was deliciously different, desserts were moorish and the coffee was excellent! Friendly staff and good vibes
Wonderful staff, great atmosphere, delicious food and coffee. Why go anywhere else?!
Delicious food and coffee, service is wonderful.
Magic nuts are magic and so are the people that run the joint.
Great food, friendly and attentive service and most importantly great coffee!!
Fantastic Friday. Had a glass of red at Troppo went to an Art Exhibition opening at Indigenu next door, returned to Troppo for more red, fondue with salami, mushroom pizza (unfortunately they had fun out of chorizo) Great food, wine, live music and lively crowd. A real gem.
Relaxed & rustic, friendly service, good food & great coffee !

Delicious breakfasts. Super fresh produce used as ingredients!
Great food, really genuine staff and awesome music!!! Lucky spot being on corner near a 'square"
Great pizza and super friendly staff on the Thursday/Pizza nights. Looking forward to sampling more of the menu!
Nestled in a small corner, a very cosy, hip and chic caffe, perfect for a sunday sunny brunch!! Fresh ingredients, welcoming staff and lovely decor! #brunchlove
We normally wouldn’t have minded but my friends and I were in a bit of a rush to get somewhere and the food on this day took 40 minutes to come out (after we had ordered). The cafe is super cute and they have a great menu on offer but I sadly only had 2 minutes to enjoy my meal before I had to go :( The food tasted amazing and the service was great - would’ve been a 5 if the food didn’t take as long as it did...
Quality! It Shouldnt Be That Hard! Love A Wonderful Mouth Full Of Wholesome FOOD!

This amazing cafe is on the outer parts of Adelaide city (whitmore square)
This very cozy cafe is tucked away in the outer part of Adelaide city. It’s interior is quiet unique but very homely feeling(it’s quiet quirky) the atmosphere was amazing we felt very uplifted!. We came here on a very busy Sunday morning.
My partner and I order our breakfast and was sipping on our 5/5 coffee. This time I tried oat milk cappuccino. It was amazing my partner had a lactose free cappuccino. He also said the best coffee he has had in Adelaide. As we where sipping on our coffee we where mesmerized watching the female chef 👩🍳 in her element. She was running this amazing kitchen with ease. It was so busy and she was doing all the cooking. Making it look so effortlessly. We just couldn’t believe her time management!
We both ordered Breakfast of champignons. It was so tasty, we added bacon 🥓 to ours. However the sizes where massive. The egg was poached to perfection! there was baked pumpkin. It was so tasty,The mushrooms where just perfect you could taste the herbs and butter. There was this honey that had mixed herbs and chilli. It brought such a sweet but spicy element to the meal. It was not over powering though you could taste all the flavors off all the ingredients!!!
As my partner and I was eating we where talking about how amazing this cafe was and taking in the experience . We got half way through the meal and was like that coffee was amazing,we need to order another! the quality off food and coffee is amazing
If you are looking for a Wow factor this cafe is not to be missed. You won’t be leaving disappointed. The Interior of the cafe through out is homely you actually feel like your in the chefs house who has a quirkiness to them . Even the bathrooms are well styled and homely decorated,One of the best hand basins I have Ever seen.
I highly recommend this cafe! It’s a little Jam tucked away in a quiet location in Adelaide.
Polite service and soul warming food. Tucked away but not completely hidden, a cute gem along whitmore square. Chilli scrambled eggs (add bacon) for myself which included pickled veg, slaw, the eggs and a garlic aioli atop a folded roti bread. Absolutely delicious- eggs were fluffy and plentiful, slaw was crisp and fresh, bacon was smokey and the aioli was tangy without being overbearing. Other half had the brekky pizza, side of haloumi. Not a crumb was spared. One and only downfall was the hot chocolate; hot but only somewhat chocolatey, as halfway through it was clumpy and crumbly to drink even with a good stir. Service however was polite and food came out precisely on time. Bravo.
Had lunch here because friend's mum recommended this place. Glad we went! I had the pumpkin stack which was satisfying for me, and friend had the pumpkin pizza and kombucha which I didn't get to try because he devoured it! Overall, it was a pleasant experience and we stayed for a while to appreciate the lovely interior (amazing decor & details!)
This place has been going strong for years. Consistently great coffee. Great locally sourced food options. Good service. I’ll always remember the amazing brekkie pizza I had the first time I came here. Haven’t come for dinner, but have always enjoyed the brunch options and clean treats. Definite 👍🏼 There’s a reason I keep coming back.
Stopped here as I needed a little break. Great little hang out spot. Tea was alright but I’m sure they do nice coffee. Friendly staff too and quite a quirky place
Cute, cosy cafe with a great atmosphere. Great coffee, lovely service, delicious food and free wifi. Recommend the ‘fancy bacon’! Would definitely visit again.
Got cafe Troppo as a tip and it was packed on a Sunday morning. We waited for a table outside on the terrace. There is a lot of self service here, order at the counter, got my own water and didn’t get cutlery either (which we found out after we got our meals but no cutlery). One dish we wanted wasn’t available anymore, would’ve been good if they would’ve told us straight away. Boyfriend’s strong latte was good, my piccolo was a bit bitter but not bad. Orange juice is very good value, huge glass for $6 with enough ice to cool it down but not so much that you’ve got more ice than oj. We had the summer stack and the panini panino. The summer stack wasn’t really a stack (see photo). I don’t think there were enough toppings on it. After I finished all the beetroot butter with 1/2 a slice of bread, I asked for some more which was no problem. The panini was nice, specially after I added the now surplus of beetroot butter. It was busy and a lot of staff, it seemed though they didn’t have the logistics under control yet. Really nice and popular little cafe, would definitely be able to get a higher score next time by doing some easy improvements!
Coffee was so smooth and nice! Crockery is pleasant on the eye and the menu is full of interesting stuff. We went on a sunday afternoon and the place was full! Vibes were definitely there! I had the waffles with caramelized apples, delicious!
One of my favourite cafes in Adelaide. The coffee is always amazing and the menu is fabulous. My all time favourite has to be the dukkah eggs, it's full of flavour and extremely fresh. Their menu has so many options that lots of cafes don't offer. The great decor also adds to the busy atmosphere making it an extremely enjoyable brunch location.
We went to the café two times while staying in Adelaide, for lunch and breakfast. The food is good and well presented. The OJ is fresh and you can feel it! We also loved the coffee and the environment. The service is great as everyone is really friendly.
Best cafe I've ever been to. You will be amazed by the ambient . :) also , the food was fresh and full of varieties . Enjoy your good time here
Honest review here.
Went for breakfast here yesterday, and have been before. Have left very impressed both times.
Location is a good selling point here as parking is plentiful (mostly ticket but 2 hr is fairly cheap) and easy to get to. You could walk to markets after if you had to. Seating outside perfect for sunny days but better inside when cold - service is fantastic!
Ordered the winter poachie which is two poached eggs on bread with beetroot and winter vegies on the side, and avocado smash. For coffee i had the almond milk latte.
Breakfast was superb - a little on the small serving side, as i counted only 3 small shavings of beetroot. Not enough in my opinion - although the beetroot is at least not the canned stuff.
The eggs were cooked perfectly and and the rest of the meal was of 4 out of 5 quality. Again , just needed more. The almond latte i ordered (twice now) has been average - they are not getting the process right somewhere as the milk is not blending in with the coffee (separates very quickly).
Bottom line - if you are really hungry best to look elsewhere or order more than one dish, but if you like great quality food that satisfies - this is up there with the best breakfasts in Adelaide.
We returned to Cafe Troppo this morning, our last visit was in 2014. The Cafe is still as popular as our last visit. The menus are very good and varied to cater for most tastes. The seating options are comfortable, with outside tables on the footpath. The service was friendly and efficient. I must admit on our last visit we thought the coffee was excellent, but today the coffee was right up there with the best. If we lived closer this would become our Cafe of choice. Must return more often when in this area.
Came here for Sunday brunch and it was great. I'm really trying to find something to fault here but I couldn't pick anything. My experience was outstanding. Food. Bang. Service. Bang. Atmosphere. Bang. Overall. Bang.
Oh man, this place is my little obsession.
I've been visiting here for a few years and everything about cafe troppo and their food, coffee, values and staff are all amazing.
If you love delicious, healthy eateries then this place is a must. My favourite time of the week is when I'm able to come here for a Sunday morning coffee and breakfast. Also they do great freshly squeezed oj!
Troppo is located in an historic precinct of Adelaide on Whitmore Square, near Sturt street and not that far from the Central Markets. It is a fantastic addition to this part of the city and has been there for quite some time. It is an ecofriendly cafe right down to the use of water in the bathrooms. The food is fresh and seasonal with vegan options, and the coffee was one of the best I have had in ages. The staff are extra-ordinary: very friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make sure that all customers are enjoying the experience of Troppo. The vibe of this place is very cool and the seating out on the footpaths and overlooking the Square make this a perfect place to spend a while on Sunday morning.
Summary: food is fresh and seasonal; coffee top class; service brilliant. Easy parking around the square - check out for limits (no limits on Sunday but check other times); free WIFI (ask for the code). Worth a try? Very likely that once you have been once you will call back often. Love going Troppo!
I love the vibe and core values driving this place. They are really a gem in this slightly alternative neighborhood and would perfectly compliment Christie Walk intentional community a few doors up if they were instead located as part of their space. Besides good vibe and beautifully rustic design, the brekkie I had there was very delicious and reasonably substantial given that it's not cheap ($45 for breakfast for two). I had the chilli eggs which could have been a bit spicier but was still yum. Great fresh juice too.
On Fri/Sat nights they often have live music which has a lovely Irish-pub-jam-session kind of feel. Very community-oriented place. Great location too on the street corner right across from the green goodness of Whitmore Square
Really, really nice. Came here for a friend's birthday, and sat outside which was really nice surrounding the lush plants and lovely decor. The cafe was fairly busy, and we were caught in the line for around 5 minutes, but it was worth it, as staff were helpful and the food was amazing. My friend and I ordered the Mushie Morning - sauteed swiss brown mushrooms on sourdough with local goats cheese, which was really enjoyable. The food presentation was incredible and the food was extremely appetising. I will be back, as I would love to try the Full 'O Beans, soft eggs cooked in a claypot with beans, which sounds delicious.
I had the Mushie Morning here a few months ago- Mushrooms on toast with a poached egg and fetta cheese. The dish was lovely, and coffee was nice. The decor is eclectic- very much on trend, but on a Saturday morning get here early to avoid having to wait for a seat, as seating is limited for a busy cafe. Overall very good value for money! Will be back.
Funky little cafe....Service and food was fantastic. Will definitely be back for another breakfast. Next time will try the breakfast pizza.
loved the chilli eggs i had last saturday lunch.... kept on thinking about it and tried cooking it for dinner...fail!!!
ill be back this weekend to have it again.
Located on Whitmore Square, Cafe Troppo is a breakfast, brunch - come lunch, coffee spot as well as weekend tapas bar. The whole ethos of this place is around seasonal, healthy produce that is locally grown.
We visited for the first time for brunch on a Saturday before a Fringe show. Inside and out, the place has a cool vibe - very authentic hipster. It is, though, quite casual; there's no table service nor do they accept reservations. It also gets pretty busy and given the small space, I'm told tables are hard to get during peak times.
On the weekend the menu is, essentially, an all day breakfast menu - with a limited number of sandwiches, wraps, etc. only available on the specials board.
For food, we opted for the eggs 'n avo and dukkah eggs, plus some coffees. The eggs were poached well, the coffee was good and the produce was all very fresh. Eggs 'n avo was the better of two dishes, and this is because we didn't realise the dukkah eggs was a salad. The service was also fine.
In all, was pretty impressed with this place and would return to try the larger weekday menu. Would also recommend to others.
Cafe Troppo is a great little place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Staff are always nice and the menu is very creative. The decorating is interesting, with a trendy and relaxed feel to it. Definitely a great spot for the weekend. Tucked away on the corner it can be easy to miss as you drive by but once you've been there it is hard to forget.
Brunch is a well-loved institution in Australia – a time when family and friends come together with good coffee and food to get the day started. Over the last decade, Melbourne and Sydney have raised the bar in the quality of their brunches, through creative menus, specialist coffee and service to match. But in South Australia, Adelaide’s progressive food scene has come a long way in recent years. New quirky brunch cafes and specialist coffee shops are now popping up around town by the dozens, giving Melbourne and Sydney brunch spots a run for their money.
It was a nice sunny day and whats better to kick start the day with a nice brunch! We went through our check list of where to eat, and decided to venture to small cafe called Troppo. . Troppo’s menu is different depending on the day. Weekends they have a special menu, offering brunch all day. Weekdays, the only offer brunch to a certain time and after that their menu becomes more limited. We had actually gone to Troppo a while back on a weekday, but since we weren’t impressed with their lunch menu, we left and tried Bar 9 instead.
Good food & coffee but a few service flaws.
When we arrived we stood around for quite a while wondering whether we just grab any spare table or wait to be seated. There were quite a few staff around and we made a lot of eye-contact but no one acknowledged us. We eventually asked someone who said to take a seat anywhere.
My coffee order of a double espresso came out as a latte but was quickly replaced. We weren't offered sugar so had to request this. In the end the coffee was excellent - as good as you get.
The menu had some great options including a 'morning dhal' which was delicious and nice to see on a breakfast menu for something different, though we were served initially served dukkha eggs without eggs instead of the dhal! A strange mistake that was again quickly corrected.
We also had the mushroom toast which I really enjoyed - the mushrooms were big and dark and served with loads of fresh herbs and greens. My friend had the waffles which she loved, especially as they were served with the lemon curd.
I really liked the crockery, especially the espresso cups, but the salt and pepper is literally served in off-cuts of industrial plastic hose with cut-up cork in the ends. Very odd and not easy to control. We were not offered salt & pepper with our meals and had to ask for this.
All in all, I'd go back for the food and coffee because it was great but the service really needs some attention.
Came here for breakfast. I did email ahead of time to see if any of the menu could be made vegan but never got a reply which was quite disappointing but the chef was knowledgable and happy to make some of the savoury menu items to our dietary requirements (they only had sweet options on menu). Staff were pretty friendly and not over the top. We were given the wrong coffee by mistake but the waiter fixed this straight away. Coffee was smooth and almond milk wasn't over cooked. Our meals came out after we finished our coffees and again we were given the wrong thing, they fixed this straight away and it didn't take long for correct meal to come out. Dahl had lovely flavours and it was interesting to have something different for breakfast. The mushrooms and beans I found to be a slightly plain but the fresh herbs helped lift the dish bit. Would return again.
Visited cafe Troppo for brunch and immediately felt the energetic, warm ambience. Staff were friendly, customers happy and great music playing, we loved it as soon as we walked in. Quick to order and the service for coffee and food was also fast. Coffees were perfect and certainly satisfied our morning caffeine craving. The food was good. We preferred the double smoked ham and brie toastie, but the eggs with feta, homemade baked beans and bacon also good - would however have preferred slightly more of a flavour hit. The sweets looked amazing (but we resisted!). Best thing about cafe Troppo - a regularly changing menu. Will definitely be back again.
These guys have got a slick operation happening! What a great, cosy little set up. Watching them make and cook the food is great because you can see it's a labour of love (and a mighty delicious one at that). Had breaks here this morning with a friend- breakfast stack with poached eggs was something I couldn't pass up. The eggs were perfectly runny & I have never had haloumi so delicious- crispy, salty and tender. Also served with spinach and mushrooms. Great service, coffee with milk beyond creamy, and quick. All the little pastries and muffins also looked very appetising. Impressive.
Salt and pepper in giant test tubes was a fun theatrical addition
Cafe Troppo is one of the nicer spots in the Adelaide CBD for breakfast/brunch. I've only been able to sample the weekend menu as I refuse to wake up early on a weekday!
Food:
The menu isn't huge and I often stick to the same dishes as there's not a lot of choice. I've tried all the savoury items as I'm not a big fan of a sweet/sickly or healthy/tasteless breakfast :) All the dishes are nice without blowing you away. The pizza breakfast is a good idea and the topping works but I'm really not convinced about the spelt flour base. It's not a thing. But then, I am a pizza snob. The coffee is usually great too.
Service:
The staff are really chilled and laid back. Almost too laid back one could argue.
They are nice, and I'm all for laid back service, but on a busy saturday morning you kind of want the people taking your order to be switched on.
Ambience:
The cafe is in a fantastic spot, nestled below a block of apartments on the gorgeous and serene Whitmore Square. There are hectic periods on the weekend when it's hard to find a spot to eat, but if you manage to find a time when it's calmed down a bit then it's really enjoyable.
Dish to look out for:
The coffee is great and I'm a sucker for housemade baked beans so I recommend the Mr Frijole.
I like coming here for weekend breakfast. I almost always order the waffles (and trying bits of other food from my partner's plate). Must something about the KI honey and labne. Another reviewer mentioned something about recycled wooden straws. Yeah... that's a no-no.
Most of the meals I've had here have been very good. Poached quince in a granola (some moons ago) is a stand out.
The house made gluten free fruit loaf is a good example of why you should order gluten free sweets, even if you can tolerate gluten. Vegans just make sure you order sans honey.
But, recycled straws? No no no.
OJ OJ. Everything is great... but whenver I think about fresh OJ,Troppo
Really good. Walked in and managed to score a seat on the breakfast bar, just, as the place was chockas. Very interesting menu and both our breakfast sandwich and muesli were very nice. Staff were nice and inviting. The place has a very relaxing vibe. Would go back next time I visit SA.
Troppo indeed. These crazy cats are pretty loud. Eccentric staff, good food and good coffee. Will be back for sure.
Edit: Have been back recently. Food was just as good as usual. Had myself a big ol' serve of waffles with poached quince and lemon cream. Pretty dope.
Love this place!! I ate here twice last week as the food is to die for and the atmosphere is trendy and comfortable. Awesome playlist too by the way just my type of music. The only thing I could suggest is for the staff to be a bit more welcoming. You feel a little like they don't want you there but you can see they love their job when they interact with each other. Convey that to the customer and you'll always have people coming back!
Brilliant!. As I entered the small, yet inviting cafe, I could tell that my friend and I were in for a treat. Bustling with customers and fabulous smelling cuisine, we couldn't wait to tuck into a big breakfast, after partying a bit too hard the night before. Troppo delivers imaginiative dishes, presented well and served quickly. If only it was a tad larger to accommodate more people!
Don't Go on Weekends!. I kid you not, it costs more! For Example, the handmade muesli (quite nice) is $7.50 weekdays. Same item on the weekend menu-$12.00. The description is slightly different, but trust me, its the same muesli.
I don't say this very often when I go out to a cafe/restaurant, but I left Il Troppo feeling very hungry.
My husband ordered the muesli, which was a handsome sized portion and I unfortunately ordered the Herby Haloumi stack. The whole meal, including garnish, was smaller than the palm of my hand and not much thicker than my hand, and I have fairly small hands! That cost me $15.00. Given the size of the portion, I wouldn't have expected to pay more than $11.95.
(and before anyone trounces on me, I am a trained chef and understand portion control, costing and the value of good quality ingredients)
In terms of taste, the food was flavorsome with an abundance of herbs and was presented well. The saving grace was the coffee, which was one of the better coffees in Adelaide.
BREAKFAST REVIEW 11/11/2013. Based on a local's recommendation, I went to Cafe Troppo for breakfast.
It looked like a relaxed, trendy place with a bunch of hipsters drinking coffee outside, so I immediately felt comfortable.
The staff were super nice and even suggested some events to check out while I was in Adelaide.
I ordered the 'Mushroom Fancy' toast, which had sauteed mushrooms, haloumi, rocket and toasted almonds on a slice of thick sourdough toast.
It was a good combination of flavours. I especially loved the local haloumi, but I felt as though it needed some chutney or more olive oil or something because it was just a little too dry.
The coffee was delicious though.
A nice, cheap, friendly little cafe. I'd definitely go back.
Tried this place recently for breakfast and I fell in love. I like the music they played, I liked the really friendly staff, I liked the creative decor, I liked how it had free wifi, I liked how the wait was surprisingly short but most of all I really rated the food! I had the muesli (w/ yoghurt, seasonal fruit) as well as the poached eggs (w/ sourdough, pepperonata, greens). Eggs where poached perfectly and all the ingredients tasted so fresh. On top of this, the prices are reasonable, especially for their quality! Already organized to bring some friends back for round two.
Love it!. Cafe Troppo has a great feel- staff are friendly and the design of the place is cool. The interior has an organic feel with raw wood furnishing and lots of plants. I've been here a few times and enjoyed both the food and experience on all occasions. Most recently, I ordered the spiced brown rice porridge for breakfast. While waiting for my food, I had a look around and all the food on display looked so yummy i wanted to try it all! Brown rice porridge was delicious and it was cool to see something a little different from the breakfast classics (Eggs, muesli etc) on the menu. Prices are reasonable and serving sizes are very generous at cafe troppo! Another thing i like about this cafe is that there are a lot of healthy options on the menu which are still satisfying and delicious- highly recommend!
Worth the trip. I live in the western suburbs, but Cafe Troppo is well worth the trip into town for delicious coffee and brunch!!
Great ambience, warm and cosy! Perfect for this winter weather!
Really enjoyed our experience here today, loved all the staff and the down to earth vibe they had going on. The aesthetics were very much what I was looking for.
Did have trouble reading the chalk board menu but not a big issue.
Can't wait to visit again.
Beautiful atmosphere, really relaxed and organic. I personally think the people who have written negative comments went in looking for bad things. I hope no one actually let's those comments effect their judgement of the cafe because it is quirky, real and original. The food was delicious, the staff were very genuine with lovely smiles and the coffee.. Superb :) thanks for the lovely experience!
Simple good food. Do you consider $9 for a pizza or $6 for a pie expensive? I don't, but if you do, you might be better served by visiting a fast food chain or servo. The food here is very straight forward - some might say plain - but I found it to be pretty decent. Staff are friendly enough. Lots of bushranger hipster beards, but I guess that compliments the kooky recycled vibe of the setting.
Gorgeous cosy place. Had the pork belly on a cold Friday eve along with some other tapas. It was deliciously memorable and I don't even go for pork much. Wine selection is unusual and not at all pricy.
Good vibe on a Friday night with delicious tapas. The jalapeño hummus is delicious.
Drinks and tapas...win. Have been here on quite a few Friday evenings for a quiet drink and some tapas to share. They're always happy to do up a vego tapas place and the stuff on the plate is always delicious. They do the most amazing olives ever. They also have a ridiculously cheap rose ($4/glass) which, despite being the house rose, is surprisingly drinkable! Have also had lunch and brunch here. Menu isn't overly extensive, but the food has always been tasty.
Average. Nice place.
Ok food.
Nothing great.
Menu for brekkie is limited.
Try it and decide for yourself.
Best coffee in Adelaide! Could do with more vegan options but the salad roll made with a fresh fluffy bun, drizzled with olive oil was beautiful. The service is slow but it's worth the wait.
Love the vibe here! Went here with 2 friends on Friday night for drinks & tapas. All was lovely, staff very friendly. Closes at 10pm which is a shame but otherwise will definately be back.
Just discovered this place & am in love. The vibe is awesome and I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can enjoy their gorgeous outdoor space as well. Can only speak for the coffee but would love to try their brunch...def worth the walk from my office near Rundle Mall.
Love it even though they don't have a menu and I was looking forward to a savouru dish at 4.30pm. Full review on www.ggastronomy.blogspot.com
Just the bee's knees. My favourite place in Adelaide. With the morning winter sun streaming in, excellent coffee, and simple, stunning food it's just good for the soul.
Amazing Coffee. Dropped in on my way to work to try their coffee, and without a doubt it's the best one I've had since leaving Sydney in 2006! I literally stopped walking just to drink it. Fabulous.
Lovely atmosphere and really nice setting with a view of the square; hopefully this will become a regular Saturday morning breakfast venue! Definitely getting my morning coffee from there for the walk to work.
Nice. It has a fantastic, friendly attitude and comfortable atmosphere. It's a little small on the insides, but this will be less of an issue during summer months when sitting outside will be more of an option. My only complaint is that their opening hours are not yet well established, but it is only their second week. I hope that they will be open after dark more often because there are seriously few decent cafes open at that time. Hence why cibo makes a killing - there is no other option unless you go to a restaurant! The coffee is very good, but lacks single origin variability. If they add that to the menu, we will finally have a cafe in adelaide that rivals one of the many awesome cafes in Melbourne. You can do it Troppo!
Their menu changes quite frequently, and you can see it here. On weekends, they have a brunch menu, which includes pretty yummy homemade waffles. I’m really into waffles, so whenever we go somewhere with waffles on the menu, I’ll most likely order them. There are different flavours every week, and the first one I tried was served with peaches, nectarines, macadamia nuts, cream, and honey. Our friend, who ordered his before we got there, didn’t get the macadamia nuts on his waffles, which was a real pity, because I thought they were a great addition. Recently, I had the chocolate chip waffles, which came with strawberries, cream, and honey. Yummy!

Early morning socialising with friends saw me at Cafe Troppo, located on Whitmore Square in the CBD. This trendy little cafe has been on my radar for a while, always appearing crazy busy whenever I have driven past. They serve breakfast, light lunches and on Friday nights they do Tapas and Pizzas as well as often having local live music. When we arrived we had to wait for a table, I had expected this given their popularity and that they don't take bookings. The wait however was short, maybe ten minutes? and it was obvious that turnover here is pretty quick. The venue itself reminded me of all the great things I love about the Melbourne cafe scene, slightly quirky/hipster, very organic feeling and a nice atmospheric buzz. We were brought menus and told that when we were ready we ordered at the counter. Service was friendly and efficient, you could see how under the pump the staff were to keep up with both in house diners and the steady stream of takeaway patrons yet they still managed
Pure deliciousness and freshness at Cafe Troppo. The roo steak sandwich consisted of fresh slices of sourdough filled with marinated kangaroo fillet, caramelised onions, tomato relish and fresh salad topped with grilled SA haloumi. Drooling yet? And my order of the pumpkin burger had seasoned roast pumpkin topped with grilled SA haloumi in a soft sourdough roll with fresh salad and pesto. So much vibrancy in colour, flavour and texture! A splendid and simple lunch affair with the ladies. :) ~ Good luck getting a seat at Cafe Troppo!
Loved the vibe of the place! Visited them in the morning for breakfast, had a buckwheat cinnamon waffles and a pot of white tea - mind blowing!🔥
The place is dog-friendly, popular amongst local people, very polite and smiley staff, a great spot to start your day.
Definitely going back to try their almond croissant! 😋🥐
A totally chilled location with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were friendly and our coffee was a 10/10, as too was the sourdough toast with poached egg. Well set up directly across from Whitmore Square with easy access for pedestrians and cyclists 🚶♂️🚶♀️🚴♂️🚴♀️ Parking was a little trickier.
If you find yourself in the neighbourhood, I'd recommend Cafè Troppo 👍🏼
Service was great, staff at front tried best to accomodate and amend miscommunication with kitchen staff. Stated allergy in one of the dishes and when it came out I noticed the ingredient was still on the dish in the dukkah. Staff were very apologetic. After a long wait the dish finally came out and it was nice and had enough taste - the Dukkah was not even necessary for the dish. Fresh juices were nice. Did not need a booking.
Nice food and coffee, something abit different from your Normal brekky options.
Chilli Eggs were great! Would come again
Really fantastic coffee. Will update review after getting food another day.
Coffee great again. Food better than expected, quite nice albeit simple. Definitely worth a visit.
