Incredible service. From speaking with bookings to secure a table to the service we experienced while there, all staff were so friendly. One waitress in particular (I think her name was Gabby) was brilliant and made us feel welcome. The food was exceptional and the added touch to our dessert knowing it was a birthday celebration was so lovely. Will definitely be back!

A nice place to hang out, with an outdoor terrace and indoor seating. The portion sizes were large and they offer up a good burger. The Lion Hotel also offer a good variety of beers and ales on tap.

Fried calamari with chips: nicely fried calamari. Good chips. No complaints!

Crispy skin salmon: wish there was more carbs with this dish, which was quite pricey as well at 37$. The salmon itself was nicely done though!

We met up with other poodle owners pre Christmas. Staff were great, got water for the dogs, we sat outside, had coffee and breakfast. Very nice.

Not the best meal. For the price of the burger I expected something substantial, but when it arrived, it looked a bit like a McDonald’s cheeseburger. The gnocchi was also a fairly small serving, and a bit bland for my liking. Otherwise great atmosphere and friendly staff.

I really think you need a vegan menu. Because I’ve looked through the menu and all I can get is the same salad every time I come for my dinner....I’m not interested in the Carrot quinoa kale burger....the least you can do is put an eggplant schnitzel on the menu, a pasta or some pizza options....you could even contact vegan cake and Icecream businesses to get us some dessert too... because how would you feel if your dinner options was a salad or a carrot and quinoa kale burger......hope to see some changes very soon!

Great venue great food good service.
But I would suggest when they put a hot special on the daily specials menu that you put a little 🌶 chilli sign or write “spicy “ hot . Or at least get staff to mention it when ordering it
My mum and I both ordered the hot lunch special being pork fried rice thinking it was the a hot price (that’s how it read on the page to us )
But It was very spicy hot which I enjoyed but my mum drank a whole bottle of water and couldn’t eat hers .
I always enjoy my time at The Lion .

I don't mind paying $40 for a steak and chips if it's actually a decent piece of steak. But it wasn't even close. More fat than meat, sided with a handful of home-brand French fries and pot of generic grain mustard. Never again.

I had my 21st birthday party in the tunnels function room. Everything about it was excellent! Thankyou so much to all the staff, they were amazing and they all went above and beyond to make my birthday a night to remember. If you're looking for a venue for your next function, I can't recommend The Lion Hotel enough!

Would highly recommend The Lion for functions/events. The staff were all super friendly, helpful, and organised in the lead up to my 21st, and on the actual night. The food was great, and everything ran smoothly!

The waiting staff are wonderful..very professional I ordered Mussels with Pipis in a broth......they forgot the broth so I was presented a bowl of steamed shells with a very salty concoction in the bottom of the bowl. Not enjoyable.
