Food is wonderful and the staff are amazing. The staff are so wonderful, when I told them that it was my daughters birthday they brought out her dessert with candles. One chap who (sorry didn't get his name) who seamed to be managing every body and working everywhere helped my choose a wine which I now love. Attention to detail is fantastic. My new place for drinks as they have a small bar area. Bar food is very yummy

Every dollar spent is not regretted. If you’re on a budget, budget for here. The Waldorf salad was perfect. Thin, crunchy slices of green apple, vinegar and oil dressing with crisp baby cos lettuce and soft chicken pieces. Every texture and taste of the salad was perfectly complimented by the wine and the venue. I can’t talk highly enough about Sean’s Kitchen. Best thing I’ve put in my stomach in a long time.

THANKYOU to Bec and the crew especially the chefs whoever you are as the food was fantastic last night! My new fav sparkling white is deviation Road now! From the in-house bread, entrees and mains to the most decedent lemon curd cake � I have ever tasted, you could fault the food! The ambiance & style of upstairs private function room was exceptional! AttentIve staff, willing to get in on a joke, laid back but prompt - very good service. The “Orgy of Mushrooms” was richly divine and all else was superiorily delicious. Can’t wait to come back. We had a beautiful Saturday afternoon birthday celebratory meal. Kudos!

My husband and I celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary at Sean's Kitchen on Saturday night (2nd June). It was our first time there.....a gift from one our daughters. We were really impressed with the exceptional service...the very friendly staff and how quickly all of our courses came to the table. Entree was Pork Belly and Squid for my husband while I went with the Pumpkin Rissoto. Both dishes were outstanding.....for mains we shared the Lamb Shoulder with duck fat chips and Popcorn Cauliflower.....so much food we could have fed another two! Dessert was Pimped Up Soft Serve and the Brownie Sundae.....however we couldn't get through these...just too full! We will definitely be back �

After hearing mixed reviews about this restaurant, I was anxious to try the food myself - and I was pleasantly surprised. The service is down to earth yet professional. The food? Almost everything we ordered was simply delicious. The dish of the night for me was the Orgy of mushrooms which caught me completely by surprise given I'm a huge meat eater. I found myself using the butter sauce as a dip for all my other dishes. Could not go wrong with the charcoal wagyu steak with the greens.

Finished the night of with a New York cheesecake and a macaron. Again, these were delicious. The beauty behind the macaron was that they used vanilla yoghurt for the cream so you get the cool texture running through. The only thing that didn't seem to quite fit in the menu and particularly catch my attention were the duck fat chips.

Another stand out restaurant - if you're willing to fork out the amount.

One of the best fine dining restaurant in Adelaide. The menu has been articulately curated to satisfy a gastronome. Mr Niket was extremely helpful and provided us with the best suggestions. The place is a must visit and should be on your Adelaide bucket list. Easily the best place with an extremely wide range of spirits. A must try Ginversity & Green And Gin. Sean's Kitchen is better to visit for dinner as dinner menu has the best steak options.

Lamb Shoulder with liquorice and star anise gravy has to be THE best thing I have eaten in a long time. Lamb was cooked to perfection and the gravy was the perfect accompaniment. Overall this place was great, tucked down the side of the railway station, right by the casino entrance, I had my concerns initially, but ultimately this place won me over with great atmosphere and (mostly) friendly service. Would recommend ( and in fact already have) if visiting Adelaide.

Certainly lived up to expectations. Great service, buzzy atmosphere but not over noisy, prompt attentiveness. Had the study of beef shared between 4, with 3 sides. Will say $11 duck fat chips was way overrated (had $8 truffled chips that's much better), but the meat was treated with respect, the lamb shoulder was outstanding, and the lychee/pineapple pimped soft serve was a massive highlight. Someone else paid but I think you certainly feel the ouch at the cashier.

Would go back but think it's a bit over priced.

Enjoyed an exclusive dinner in the private room upstairs with customised menu along with friendly staff attending to any additional requests made on the day. The food was delicious and bursting with flavours. Ive included photos of some of my favourite dishes below. Can’t wait to be in Adelaide again to visit Sean’s kitchen again :)

Wow wow wow. Simply amazing food and fantastic service. Every mouthful of food was incredible. We had the squid & pork belly entree, mulloway fillet and mushroom risotto for main. Cannot recommend any more highly! Thank you to al the wait staff but especially David for the great service.

Great place, really enjoyed the ambience. Even though when busy can be a bit loud and echoey, but we could still converse. Service was on point. Food was enjoyable, just wasn’t mind blowing.

Moderately pricey, a bit loud, but excellent service, wine and food. We certainly had a very entertaining and enthusiastic waiter. The space gets very loud with all the hard finishes.

I forgot to take any photos until after the main as it has been a long day of beer! However we had the angasi oysters which I had been keen to try and they were very fresh and tasty.

The main course was seafood platter (which was very fresh and tasty), lamb shoulder (which was great, not as good as the one at cumulus in melbourne - not quite as fall of the bone but extremely tasty) accompanied by duck fat fries (a classic) and cauliflower popcorn.

We had a selection of desserts which were all lovely.

A nice place to come to dine but a little hard to chat!

Had dinner at Sean’s Kitchen. Food was nice enough but quite a limited selection on the menu for mains for what we were hoping. The popcorn cauliflower was really tasty though for something different. Service friendly too but at times a bit delayed, and they weren’t overly busy. Price tag probably on the higher side for what you got but every now and then you’re allowed to splurge a bit!

My partner and I took a short trip to Adelaide earlier last year and walked into Sean's Kitchen for a feed. We were sat up on the stools by the kitchen which wasn't a bad experience (I normally don't like sitting by the kitchen/ bar) however, we didn't make a booking prior so they were nice to squeeze us in as they seemed pretty booked.

Specialising in higher end meat dishes, this was not the place for a gluten free vegan just like myself. I am also an elite athlete competing in a weight-based sport so this also made my dietary requirements at the time very specific.
However, the wait staff were and kitchen were very kind enough to take my dietary requirements into careful consideration and create me a dish off the menu of a lovely light summer salad of beautifully grilled mushrooms, capers, tomatoes, olives and potatoes.
They also have delicious freshly squeezed juice blends available for those who are not wanting to drink wine or soft drinks.

My partner had a steak of some sort (i wasn't paying attention) which was perfectly cooked medium rare as he requested. With a side of potatoes and vegetables. He also had one of their delicious-looking ice creams for dessert but he couldn't tell me if it was any good as he was completely drunk on a whole bottle of wine that he thoroughly enjoyed. 

Great atmosphere too, lovely friendly staff, and awesome kitchen who were able to accommodate! We'd definitely visit again when we're back in Adelaide :)

Excellent ambience. Had the crab linguine for dinner. Just the right portion. Not too little nor not too much. Also enjoyed the coconut sago. Staff was friendly. The receipt was given to us in an envelope which also contained basil seeds. Interesting!

I like a balanced meal. If you order steak here that’s all you get. For $56 for a scotch, surely some veggies can be included. The meat was perfectly cooked with a lovely Smokey grilled taste. The peppercorn steak was very thin, and all the pepper was at the bottom of the jug. I had the chicken Waldorf salad, it was crunchy and fresh, but near the bottom it started tasting salty and oily. The fries were brilliant, but let down by being served in a dented cup measure container. For desserts we had the sago and cherry sorbet and apple tart. The sorbet was excellent, but more was wished for. The apple tart was an apple pie, but as a pie I like them warm. I found the pastry too thick and as this was served cold it was not as nice as it could of been. It was served with fruit mince ice cream which was delicious. There were plenty of staff and the meals from the kitchen were fast

Been here multiple times and it has always been good. The best thing about Sean’s kitchen is that the food here is very consistent. Everything here taste great. However, the service can be on and off. I booked the private upstairs area this time and they screwed the booking and gave the table to someone else. So we had to wait 20 mins for another table to open downstairs.

Love going to Sean’s Kitchen, the food is always amazing. The only downside would be if going for an intimate night I think upstairs it better as it sets a mood. Where if going with friends downstairs is great.

Amazing service the food was absolutely incredible.
I had the chicken breast with salsa verde it was full of flavour and wasn't dry at all!

If you ever stop by the duck fries chips are a winner! They didn't go unnoticed that everybody was ordering them!

Perfectly prepared seafood, extensive gin selection and delicious desserts, three of my favourite things! Fresh and frequently updated menu, with specialty cuisine festivals throughout the year. Great spot to dine before seeing a show at The Festival Theatre. Well heated outdoor area with blankets if you can't get a seat inside. Easy split bill system if you're dining with a big group. I always book, as it's usually pretty packed.

2nd time at Sean's Kitchen and loved it both times!! We had crab linguine and steak as main. For sides we ordered Mac n Cheese, duck fat chips and broccolini. Absolutely delicious!! I can't remember the waitress's name but she was so lovely and very accomodating.

LOVE Sean's Kitchen. I've been here quite a few times and the food here is always good! My absolute favourites would have to be the 1.2kg steak (clearly to share, not just for one/me LOL), which is always perfectly cooked, and the Mac and Cheese - trust me it's a must every time you come to Sean's Kitchen.  Desserts here are also a must, especially the pimped-out soft-serve icecream. The only disappointing items on the menu are the Dry-aged Burger, with the meat usually over-cooked, and Duck-fat chips, which are never really crispy. They also have a great range of drinks to choose from which is contained in their menu so-called the Big Book of Booze. The staff are always very friendly. Not the biggest fan of the table and chair decor but I do love everything else about Sean's Kitchen.

Update 2019:
Made a reservation and went here with the partner for Sunday lunch.

We ordered the Orgy of Mushrooms (of course) and the Coorong Mulloway. The mushrooms were perfect (again), with soft pillows of gnocci and textures of mushroom varieties. The fish was perfectly cooked and well seasoned.

Service was very friendly and efficient. Smart casual ambience in a modern and airy space. Reasonable prices for the quality.

Overall, a five-star quality lunch!

May 2017:
Came here for an early dinner on a Saturday (tip: table reservations recommended if you plan on having dinner at prime-time/ 1930hrs - ish).
Ordered a SA rose and Mushroom Orgy. The mushrooms and gnocchi were absolutely delicious - the pillows of gnocchi were fresh and soft, soaking up the mushrooms and buttery sauce. The various mushrooms added a wonderful textual experience as well.
For dessert, I had the coconut sago with cherry sorbet - a simple, refreshing finish to the dinner.
Service was a little strange - I had no one waiter over the night, and it seemed very disjointed to have a different person come take your order, fill your water glass, etc. Only one waitress during that evening, took time to explain the menu (desserts) and gave her recommendations, which I was thankful for.
Finally, as a quirky little token with the bill, I was given a paper envelope with a Sean's Kitchen postcard and a packet of basil seeds to take home.
Overall, a pleasant evening with amazing food (that Mushroom Orgy!) but unfortunately, rated down due to the inconsistent service.

Heading to the Casino for an uber fun afternoon with Interstate foodie mate, we stopped at Seans Kitchen for some food buffering, knowing that copious amounts of champagne was about to be consumed as the day progressed into night!

Service is quite good, ambience is nice, cocktails good. However, we did have a problem with the open kitchen concept, I will explain later.

The menu is quite good, nice variety and caters to just about every foodie need! A little pricey, but we didn’t expect anything less in the Casino complex.

Started with duck liver parfait, this was tasty but oh so runny, bit too runny for a parfait, needs attention. Lobster rolls were delicious and so was the King crab, excellent sauce with this dish!

Now, as I was saying earlier, I am enjoying my crab and as I look around the establishment, I notice a very hungry chef in the kitchen, munching quite nonchalantly on a bread roll full facing the customers. Any chef who has worked in an open kitchen, will know, this is an Uber No No in an open kitchen! We all know, as chefs, that if we are hungry, we either wait till service is over and if you can’t, then you bend right down peeps or find that nook in the corner where no one sees you eating. I also noticed some sauce bottles in front of the open kitchen on a table, these are chefs sauce bottles, they looked right out of place in this nicely decorated restaurant and should be behind the counter. These may sound like small niggly complaints, but sometimes the smallest nuances can make all the difference to the dining experience.

Would we return? Yes, I think so.

Sean’s Kitchen is a New York brasserie inspired restaurant named after celebrity chef Sean Connolly. Located inside the Adelaide Casino complex the venue is furnished with an interesting combination of wood, tiles, cane chairs and industrial light fittings giving it a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Outside there is also a beautifully landscaped alfresco and upstairs is a private dining area for functions.

Obviously, when you decide to attend this restaurant you are expecting a fine dining experience, which is exactly what you get. 

The decor reminds you of the fantastic high end restaurants you find in London, where you immediately expect nothing but the best. Luckily for me, during my night at Sean's I got to try almost every dish by attending in a group. The Seafood platter was exquisite, with a tender beef rib which was amazing. - and they are just a few, The prawn linguini finally was an appropriate serve with large prawns and enough of them. 

all the sides i would also recommend - flavoursome duck fried chips and greens were winner.

I do recommend you find the room to fit in the dessert which were just Devine.  

If your going to go, do it properly, treat yourself, but don't look at the bill when your done. ;)

We've been to Sean's Kitchen a few times here at On The Chopping Board (OTCB), and enjoyed it immensely (reviews here). So one cold night after a fantastic experience watching The Sound of Music stage show at the Adelaide Festival Theatre, where better to head for a late night dessert treat.

One of my absolute favourite restaurants to dine in Adelaide, Sean's kitchen is conveniently located at North Terrace close to Rundle Mall. It's just minutes off Adelaide Festival Centre and the casino. My absolute favourite thing to have here is their shared plates. Designed to share between 2 or more people, these upsized mains certainly hits the spot. My favourite is still the Lamb Leg which is tender fall of the bone with the surprisingly flavourful liquorice sauce. Besides the lamb leg, I would recommend their mushroom orgy, sounds dirty I know but the combination of the mushroom varietals and the soft pillows of ricotta gnocchi is just out of this world. I should not fail to mention that, although their food menu is not as extensive as others, they definitely do them well! Less choice is sometimes a good thing. The ambience of the restaurant is lovely as well; especially if you sit upstairs looking out to the main dining area. The only downfall of Sean's kitchen and what puts me off giving them perfect scores is that their staff can sometimes be inattentive and to put it lightly, require additional training. But hey, just my 2 cents! 😊

Came here for the $1 oysters during its happy hour (ongoing Oyster Festival throughout the whole of this August) and while the oysters were fresh and cheap, I wish they would pay more attention to cleaning the algae off because I could taste bits of the oyster shell and algae which wasn't very pleasant.

The Orgy of Mushrooms was quite nice as the variety of mushrooms with the ricotta gnocchi was really nice on the palette. The downside of that dish though is that it may not be suitable for one person considering the ricotta gnocchi was so rich in flavour. But despite all that, this dish was by far my favourite of the night.

The chowder was super creamy but it was really nice with their famous duck fat chips, but I found the title of the dish very misleading thinking it consisted of oysters but only found two tiny oysters in the chowder when it arrived to the table.

The soft shell crab buns was also nice but not enough to satisfy my cravings unfortunately. Perhaps they could drizzle more sauce on!

I suppose you pay for what you get, especially from a fine dining restaurant. The portion sizes are fair but I think more could have been done to make the dishes have bold flavours.

Had an amazing dinner here. I came here with high expectations (I mean, it is Sean Connolly's restaurant) and somehow the restaurant managed to exceed those expectations. The service was great, and the food was exceptional. The Duck lover parfait ($18) I had was wonderfully smooth and I absolutely looooved the thick, warm, fluffy, perfectly shaped slice of brioche it came with.

 I also ordered a Leek and oyster chowder that was on the special oyster section of the menu that they are offering throughout August. I did think it was unusual that the chowder came with duck fat chips rather than the usual slice of bread. Turns out this was even weirder than expected. I was so confused when the waitress arrived at our table with a flat bowl of chips, then proceeded to pour a thick, creamy green liquid over the chips. I totally did not expect to be eating the dish this way, and I'm not sure I would prefer this over the traditional fare of chips and dip, but I still enjoyed the dish. This was like the fancy cousin of poutine. 

The side of "Grandma's Carrots" sounded rather unexciting on the menu, but it turned out to be one of my favourite dishes on the table. The carrots were cooked until they were beautifully tender, and they were doused in some delicious, buttery sauce that gave it a magnificent richness that was well-balanced and not overpowering.

Another highlight was the Mac & cheese. I'm usually not a fan of the dish due to its heaviness, but this rendition was so yummy. The creamy, cheesy sauce was so indulgent and addictive - very  dangerous if you are watching your waistline.

All in all, I loved my experience at Sean's Kitchen. I look forward to exploring the rest of the menu.

Absolutely amazing! hubby surprised me with a trip to Adelaide and after high recommendations for Sean's Kitchen we had to book. From the time we walked in, we were greeted with absolute friendliness, Cass who was at the door new we came from Sydney and new it was my birthday. Samantha was our waitress for the evening and she was such a gem, funny and friendly, gave some recommendations for food aswell! We order@d mushroom cigars (seriously to die for), King fish fillet (that salsa on top was "wow" and the scotch fillet....oh and of course duck fat chips holly Molly!! Wine was great, ambience was fabulous was and service was exceptional! Brownie and raspberry sandwich desserts - sensational!

My husband and I had dinner here on Sunday evening and left very happy. It has a very New York feel to it which was so unreal for Adelaide. The staff were lovely, and attentive. We ordered the Alaskan King Crab legs to start and they were so delicious we ordered another serve! My husband had two wines through the evening, and I tried the kale smoothie which was lovely and refreshing. Husband ordered a steak for mains and said it was perfect. I had the dry aged burger on a gluten free roll, and the first burger came out very overdone. The staff were quick to rectify this and a new burger was placed in front of me shortly after. The roll didn't really work, as a long roll with a round patty. The patty was a tad dry, but the flavours were lovely. All in all a pleasant evening!

Sean's Kitchen (SK) has recently introduced a modern take on the classic high tea and are labelling it a 'Girl's Day Out'... and that is exactly what we experienced!

A firstime visit to Seans Kitchen for dinner service and I wasn't at all dissapointed. The atmosphere sitting in the attic area upstairs was great with a very cool old school vibe happening with the decor. I had the New York grilled sirloin with their Miso/Hollandaise sauce served with a side of the duck fat chips. Steak was cooked to absolute perfection and the sauce was absolutely sensational. Duck fat chips were really good, not at all greasy and with good flavour. An excellent wine selection, I also tried the coconut and vanilla bean smoothy with was very refreshing and for which I highly recommend. All of this was topped off by top notch service. Conveniently located separate to the main entrance of the Adelaide Casino I highly recommend a visit to Sean's Kitchen based on my dining experience!

Visited Adelaide with a good group of friends that I hadn't seen in sometime. Have been to Sean's Kitchen before, and their food is usually pretty spectacular, not to mention the almost 1930s club ambience of the restaurant.
Unlike other areas of Adelaide Casino, you don't need to be frisked before you come here - the entry doors are seperate from those used to enter the main gaming areas.
Don't bother bringing your own wine, unless it's a really expensive bottle. BYO was +$20 (cannot recall the exact amount) and I just asked them to put the bottle aside for us to collect when we left instead.
I had a Cabbage & Parmesan Slaw (must have, absolutely decadent), and the Dry-Aged Burger. Yes, $24 for a burger is very expensive, but it was genuinely one of the best that I have ever tasted. The accompanying fat chips are also very nice.
My girlfriend had the Orgy of Mushrooms, which I also believe was very good - I tried some of the gnocchi it came with, which tasted excellent.
Will come again.

Adelaide Food Central was invited to Paul’s Kitchen event held at Sean’s Kitchen as part of Tasting Australia’s “in the company of” series. Hosted by two talented chefs and television presenters, Paul West and Sean Connolly, we experienced some amazing dishes that celebrated the best of South Australian produce.

Back for a second time. I love Sean's kitchen. For entree we had the watermelon, strawberry, tomato salad. It was so refreshing and probably our favourite dish of the night. I'll definitely be back soon just to have the salad I think. Also had the grilled Octopus which was delicious and cooked beautifully. For main we shared the amazing Lamb shoulder in licorice jus which is so tender and just mouth watering. Previously had Duck fat fries which were awesome and Crab linguine which was to die for, fresh pasta and generous with the crab meat. Mac and cheese was cooked perfectly and very tasty. The meal was finished off with caramel New York cheesecake with popcorn, which was out of this world! Will definitely be coming back once again. Sean's has an amazing fit out and atmosphere. Upstairs was romantic on our first visit and more laid back for a quiet meal. The second visit we sat downstairs in a booth which was cool and more comfortable.

Visited Sean's Kitchen for the first time mid-December 2015 for a Christmas dinner with my girlfriends. I was relieved we were seated inside. The restaurant was a pleasant comfortable cool temperature, despite the 42 degree inferno outside. The waiting staff were professional and the ambient lighting transcended what would be more of a bistro atmosphere to a more high-end restaurant feel. I felt conflicted at Sean's because it looked and felt silver service, but was still relaxed and kinda funky. We shared the duck fat chips and they were very tasty. Do yourself a favour and order their Mac and cheese - holy moly! Arguably the best Mac and cheese I've ever had in my life. They should seriously look at selling this stuff right outside the casino around 1am - they'd make a fortune!
I had the prawn linguine for main course and it was good. Prawns cooked well, decent amount, al dente pasta. Dessert for us came in the form of cocktails. I highly recommend their "Fancy" cocktail. It might not be the most creative name, but this was a highlight of my experience at Sean's. The Fancy cocktail is sour with a sherbert foam on top - this is liquid gold. The end result is a balance of flavours from the sour and what I can only describe akin to a Fruit Tingle lollie. GAH. IT WAS TRULY DELICIOUS.
The best part of the meal was the unexpectedly delicious Mac and cheese and Fancy cocktail. The food in general, especially the mains, whilst nice, are overpriced for what they are. The cocktails will hit your back pocket too at around $19 each. All in all, it was a pleasant experience, however not out of this world for the price you pay.

I've been here numerous times, I can't believe it that I haven't write a review yet. Short and simple summary - great place!!! This restaurant can get crowded easily so please make sure you secure your booking. They have outdoor and indoor seating area. 1st floor can also be treated as private area for functions and events. Staffs are very friendly. Greet you at the front door and take you to your seats - a waiter or waitress will be allocated to your table. Services are top notch - never fail to refill water and check to make sure everything is alright. Drinks list is pretty good - wide range selection of alcohol beverage. Food wise - delicious. Food came pretty fast with excellent quality. Must try entree - scampi, soft shell sandwich & pea and parmesan risotto. Must try main - prawn linguine, gnocchi and fish of the day. Their desserts probably not their strongest but having said that the brownie is divine and to die for. Definitely worth a visit - you won't be disappointed and will be back for more.

Hearing lots of good things about Sean Kitchen, we made a booking for lunch. The interior and the atmosphere certainly lived up the the name, with the interior and open kitchen the biggest highlight for me. Three of us shared, Oysters, Waldorf ‘Moderne’ Chicken salad, Fremantle Octopus, Roast Ocean Trout and the Duck Fat Chips. Highlights being the Trout, Chips and wine.

Celebrated new years eve 2016 here. Was a set menu priced at $95 per head served in sharing dishes for our table of 6. The entree selection was definitely the standout, beautiful fresh prawns, yummy crab tacos and more. The bombe Alaska was a little disappointing as it was not at alight at the table which is what you would expect, particularly for a new years celebration. Wine selection was ok, though quite pricey.

This is a place for serious food lovers. When you have reasonably high expectations and they are exceeded then one walks away wanting more. Service was great and they were very accommodating even at one of Adelaide's busiest times. Go the lamb shoulder. Unreal.

Really lovely food & service. I like the fit out too. Had delicious sashimi but have no idea why, in a top end restaurant, they gave me wooden takeaway chop stix to eat it with! I also found the sides to be too small.

Absolutely loved this place, great service and food. Everything was spot on. Our cocktails were amazing, and the soft shell crab buns and buffalo mozzarella starters were delicious.

Our mains of King crab legs and steak were perfectly cooked and presented. Our side of fat duck chips were nice, a little soft, but ok. The meals were just right, not so filling that we felt stuffed. So we had room for dessert, we split the baked cheesecake which was amazing, just the right amount of sweet and cheesecakey.

The service was attentive and friendly, the prices are on the high side, but we felt it was worth it for the quality and amount of food. Definitely recommend and would go back again.

Update Nov 2017: went back here for a dinner and must say, did not live up to it's previous experience. The food quality was not as good as last time, my kung fish steak was well cooked but underseasoned and lacked flavour. My husband's steak was rare and underseasoned and he couldn't eat half of it. The chips were soggy and the mac n cheese was too runny. Unfortunate to say this visit was not as wonderful as the first. Food quality was not worth the amount we paid. Can't say we'll be coming back any time soon.

It was very tempting to poke the bread to confirm the authenticity and perhaps eat it. Our table was set for a delicious long lunch to come. The birthday celebration also coincided with some new summer menu items that promised to be refreshing. . Soft Shell Crab Sandwiches were kicking off the party and like a party popper it was all gone in a bang. The crispness was bang on with enough sauce to keep it juicy. One of my favourites already from previous visits. A dish of freshly shucked oysters was also put out which was the epitome of freshness.

The Co-Pilot and I rarely go out for breakfast, I think it’s because I’m really quite content with just good ol’ crispy bacon and poached eggs whipped up at home when we have the time. On this occasion the Co-Pilot and I thought we would treat ourselves and head to one of our favourite breakfast places, Sean’s Kitchen.
We usually opt for the bacon and egg butty as the bacon is super crispy and the brioche bun is buttery and soft however this time round we thought we would try something else on the menu. A fan of eggs benedict, the Co-Pilot decided to try the Sean’s Kitchen version – Sean’s Benedict, whilst I went for the Gypsy Eggs. Usually I don’t order bean dishes as I’m not the biggest fan of beans however I am glad I ordered this one.

Sean’s Kitchen recently celebrated their 1st birthday in October and luckily for us, we got an invite to their birthday whilst sampling their new summer season menu at the same time! Oh and of course, getting a slice of their birthday cake too!. Since Sean’s Kitchen’s opening in October 2014, over 50,000 diners have walked through and over 20,000 serves of mac and cheese have left the kitchen!

Great flavours. We selected a steak and the burger with duck fat chips. Both dishes were very nice. My partner really loved his steak & said it was cooked to perfection. He loved the anchovy butter option. The only wish I have is to extend the menu a little further. There weren't many options that I would normally pick. Seafood lovers would be happy with the menu selections, but could be more options for those who don't eat seafood. That said though, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and have recommended Sean's Kitchen to friends.

This place we did enjoy and would like to try again. We had a delightful duck liver paté that was probs the best I've had yet, and the kilo lamb shoulder to share was so juicy and tender it fell off the bone with ease. Service was nice, though I feel the upselling of food and wine was a bit over the top, considering the wine list speaks for itself anyway hehe! A bit pricey, but tis expected. Was overall an enjoyable experience ☺

Love the service, atmos, the food and drinks. Every time I've dined at Sean's, I've loved it. Today, I went with 2 other friends and we were a mess because we had participated in the Color Run, but the staff at Sean's didn't mind and we enjoyed cocktails, lobster rolls, soft shell crab burgers and the cray and cheese melt. As well as multiple cocktails (I can recommend Southside and espresso martini). My friend ordered a cocktail which was fantastic, I can't remember what it was called but it had butter vodka and lemon curd in it, it was amazing! Thanks for a great afternoon!

I've heard only good things about this place and was not disappointed at all. For starters we shared the sashimi and it was very fresh and delicious. Mains I had the Waldorf poached chicken salad and was impressed as it was only a salad dish but there was so much flavour and the chicken was poached to perfection. Sides we had the Mac and cheese, duck fat chips and the cauliflower (we dined a little while ago and I don't think the cauliflower is on the menu anymore). The Mac and cheese and duck fat chips were delicious complements to our mains. I could give the cauliflower dish a miss but it's not the menu anymore so doesn't matter haha. Definitely dining here again.

Don't let the reviews put you off! We gave it a go and were not disappointed... Running late on a busy Friday night we called to change our reservation with no problem at all. The good service continued into the night. We were sat in front of the kitchen and watched all the action whilst sipping on a bottle of bubbles. The King-fish saltinbocca special was amazing they de-boned the fish at our table and with 750g of deliciousness we were certainly satisfied. Must try the side dish of sprouts even if you are not a fan they with turn you!

Very busy for a midweek service. Unbelievably my host hadn't booked but SK managed to accommodate us on a large table at the bottom.

The atmosphere was good, the staff attentive and there were nice unusual touches - pale ale served in an ice cold pewter mug, water served in glass made from used wine bottles.

Unfortunately the food wasn't up to the standard I was expecting. Very few "starters" - all but one was a salad, the desserts were nothing more than you would find in a cafe, although the eye steak and duck chips were cooked to perfection.

I will try it again at some point in the future, maybe in summer when a different menu is on offer.

I’ve been to Sean’s Kitchen a few times now, and I have to say, I like it.  The first time I wasn’t that impressed, but it didn’t help that I dined that night with a fussy eater who wasn’t very hungry – it didn’t make sharing very exciting, plus our waitress was a little over-attentive.  But I’ve since become a convert.  Firstly, I love the fit out – it’s bright and airy with a combination of wood, cane and tiles – quite a change from when it was North restaurant. There’s a long bar and a long open kitchen, which I love, and they sensibly retained the al fresco dining area which is great in good weather, even if some of the tables are a bit too small to seat two.  Secondly, the menu – there’s a great selection with something for everyone, including fish, chicken, lamb, beef, prawns, mushrooms and pasta.  There’s raw stuff and there’s fried stuff, there’s salads and there’s huge steaks.  There’s even the have-to-have-on-every-menu burger and chips!  Thirdly, great atmosphere.  It’s always busy and buzzing with chatty people out for a good time.

Went here on the way to a show at the Dunstan Playhouse.The gnocchi OMG to die for... the softest I have ever eaten. My husbands burger on the other hand I don't think was something you would want to have on the menu at a restaurant of this quality (even though he quite enjoyed it). So many delightful dishes and even though I booked 4 weeks in advance we were still outside on the footpath!! ... so book well in advance (really gives you time to save the $$)

Nothing to fault here, from prebooking to arriving a little too early nothing was too much trouble. Staff who obviously enjoy their jobs and every dish done to perfection. Nothing much is open Sunday night in Adelaide but this restaurant makes that ok. Do yourself a favour and request upstairs or a private party in one of the function rooms. Next time I'm in Adelaide I'll make an excuse for a party upstairs. Delicious

The seasoning at Sean's is refined and subtle, which is at odds with my asian palate. That said, the meal I had here (about three months ago) was excellent. Ordered the sardines and soldiers which were superlative. Thank you for getting me to understand rye bread! I also had the octopus and chickpea salad, which I feel was missing a squeeze of lemon, and the chickpeas weren't consistently cooked which marred an otherwise good dish. My dining partner had the chicken saltimbocca, which promised more flavour than was delivered, but was cooked well nonetheless. Definitely a pricey meal but the quality of ingredients is worth it.

Service was unobtrusive and friendly. Can't complain about the gorgeous fitout either!

Going to Sean's is like going home....Only better. Quality comfort food, great service and gorgeous atmosphere. Plus in Winter they have heaters and blankets for outside tables :) And they happily cater for all dietary requirements. Thanks for sharing your kitchen with us Sean, don't ever change.

Had a few friends from Brissy come down so thought we would take them to Sean's Kitchen! So glad we did! Everything we ordered (we did it to share) was delish! We ordered 6 dishes plus desserts! The lamb shoulder was to die for! Melts in mouth.. Mmmm.. The service wasn't that great whilst you're waiting at the door, but once inside our waitress was amazing! Couldn't remember her name, but she had a great attitude and service!

One thing Adelaide’s newest restaurants seem to be getting right is social media. When I asked Twitter where I should try in Adelaide, and Sean’s Kitchen was an option, the restaurant tweeted me back offering to make a reservation. How’s that for service? So I booked in for lunch, and arrived to find an impressive set up, with the restaurant’s space designed to mirror Adelaide railway station, which it is attached to. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and my king crab legs came out after a short wait. There were two legs, split, on the plate with fresh lemon and warmed lemon butter, which was a decadent but perfect accompaniment to the tender crab meat. I enjoyed the challenge of scraping every last morsel from inside the shell. We also had a serve of asparagus and the duck fat chips, both of which were delicious and I would definitely recommend. Finally, finally, finally. I have sat on this post for a while. It has been one of my better dining experiences this year so far. As part of the renewed Adelaide Casino, Chef Sean Connolly brings his talent, experience and passion for food to Sean's Kitchen . The decor is stunning and grand inside with an open kitchen, ample seating both downstairs and upstairs as well as al fresco dining. It was a warm evening and we sat outside but that didn't stop me from wandering in and up as we anticipated a lovely dinner tonight.  A short walk up the stairs and you will be greeted with the Museum of Hams  filled with beautifully cured hams from different countries. You could try the International Flight  (90g) of hams for $44 if that takes your fancy.  Varieties of Cured Ham There was a group of us so that only means one thing to me. We can try more dishes. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and knowledgable providing drinks suggestions and explaining the menu. The boys went straight for a wheat beer by Lobethal Bierhaus, lo and behold it was served in a tankard. Of  course the boys loved it! I took my own sweet time perusing the menu, places like this sometimes turn into strategic ordering because there's so much we want to try and simply can't decide.  Scampi Crudo $28 Scampi Crudo - raw scampi served with chilli lime and baby coriander Funny story, Mr. Foodie being so English he ordered scampi thinking it would be crumbed and fried without realizing the title of that section of the menu is "Raw & Ocean Shelf". Also, rookie error, we didn't realize crudo meant raw in Italian. I've had raw prawns before though Mr. Foodie isn't one to eat seafood on a regular basis let alone be adventurous but he took it really well. It is actually a very fresh dish. Seasoned and topped with chilli and baby coriander, squeeze enough lime juice on it and allow it to marinade before popping them in your mouth. The texture was something to get past but the flavour was fresh, acidic and spicy.

A fair experience but don't hype yourself too much when you visit like I did. Food - Enjoyable and tasty, good healthy alternatives available, and very lovely. However the food didn't 'wow' me. Sure I had expectations, but who doesn't. I am surprised that they have a range of foods to fit every budget. Food quality is good.
Drinks - great, in fact I would say the cocktails are fantastic
Ambience - very gorgeous restaurant set up, fairly loud, has outdoor seating with heaters available.
Perfect place for larger crowds, probably not for intimate dining.

Mixed emotions. Have been twice in the last month. 1st visit - sashimi, pork hock, salmon etc etc The food was Great. (except the duck fat chips) Service left a bad taste in my mouth. Very casual waitress with no sense of urgency in a busy upmarket establishment. Manager was brilliant and apologetic.
2nd visit shared the lamb shoulder (although a little bland in the middle - needed some marinating first), duck fat chips (very good this time) and the bean salad. All very good and the service had definitely improved. The "Ned Kelly" bearded manager again was on his game. I'll be back and hope they iron out their shortfalls. Would definitely recommend. Won't accept BYO ??? Not even a bottle of Grange for a special occasion guys??? Is Sean cooking??

I was filled with trepidation after reading some bad reviews but we had no complaints. Ask to sit in the Mezzanine. Much quieter and better service.
The chicken main I had was compatible with a meal I had in London at Heston's. Juicy, full of flavour and crisp pancetta.
My companions enjoyed the Sashimi and the Pork. The duck chips were excellent, the Mac and cheese delicious and the beans crunchy.
The prices are not ridiculous.
We all know that Sean does not grace the kitchen so whoever was on the pass tonight- top marks for a great night out.

The food here is amazing. It's delicious and definitely atypical of what you'd expect to find in a casual fine-dining place, but with actual proper portions and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I had the Pork Chop it was so tender and had a good balance of flavours.
The place itself has a great atmosphere, it's got that "hipster chic" style going on with the decor and the music. Service was friendly. I would definitely recommend

Wonderful!. Have been here twice in the last week and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. The staff are all so efficient and helpful, always friendly, refilling drinks & offering help with the menu etc. Have had the soft shell crab sandwich twice which I would definitely recommend, such amazing flavours! As well as the prawn linguini, absoloutely superb. The Mac & cheese has a lot of hype and I wouldn't rave about it like everyone else does, but I will definitely be returning for the amazing food, and helpful staff. A friend and I went to Sean's Kitchen for a long Friday lunch. When we arrived there were no inside tables available (not surprising due to the current popularity), so we were seated outside, which was fine, although it's not the best of views and you do see a lot of casino patrons passing by. The wine list is amazing, although we weren't offered much assurance by our waitress. She was very nice, but not particularly helpful, although her knowledge of the food menu was quite good. I ordered the risotto entree, which is a bit light on the rice part, but was not too bad. I also ordered a steak main, which was very good. My friend opted for sashimi and the barramundi main. She liked them both, but said that neither were outstanding. Desserts were also nice, but again, not outstanding. I'm heading back here for dinner with friends soon, so hopefully with more people I can try more things and I can say whether the rest of the menu lives up to the hype...

Hipster heaven. If you love loud music and shouting at your dining companion Sean's is definitely for you. The music reaches excruciating levels but fortunately we were dining outside on the footpath, a fab place for people watching especially on a gloriously balmy Adelaide summer night. For the most part our food was pretty good with the duck pie floater a highlight for me. My eye fillet was cooked perfectly medium rare and served with a rather thin but flavoursome peppercorn 'glaze'. Service for the most part was very good, timely and adequate, but as with most casino run restaurants, very much lacking in spontaneity and conviviality. We were completely ignored on leaving and perhaps one of the reasons for this was that the restaurant manager had much earlier disappeared upstairs to one of the tables overlooking the dining room, himself appearing to be wining and dining and making quite a display of himself on his cell phone at the window. Hellos and goodbyes are so important in the hospitality industry, but maybe hipsters are still coming to grips with this side of the service equation.

Best dining experience we've had in a long time. Delicious fresh food and excellent service by all staff. I loved the atmosphere and that it wasn't pretentious like a lot of other new Adelaide restaurants.

Arnie Says.... Went to Sean's about a week ago on recommendation and it turned out to be a favourite. Sitting under the heater I turned to my companion and said "I feel like I am in another city". The ambience was great and especially enjoyed the DJ playing smooth jazz/lounge music.

The food was flavoursome - steak was perfectly cooked medium rare and the kingfish melted in my mouth. Grandma's carrots were spectacular and the duck fat chips tasted amazing. Excellent friendly service. Our waiter was attentive to my dietary requirements and double checked with the kitchen, he then returned with options across the entire menu. I was very impressed. A little trouble with the accent but managed well. We enjoy quality food and will definitely be back. It's not cheap but you pay not only for the food but the experience too.

Anyone that dined at North would remember the "fishbowl effect" when dining by the windows. Thankfully, this is no longer the case.

Love the decor and friendly service, the lamb shoulder was very tasty as well as the corn "succotash" salad. The duck fat chips were too crispy and hollow for our liking. An offer of the international flight of hams to tide us over while we waited for our order was kind - but at $40 a pop it would've made it an expensive "fill in". A good wine list, lots of options on the menu, and gluten free buns to soon come with the burger ($20). Vegan friendly menu too. All in all, a pleasant experience in a fantastic fit out to pick up the aesthetics of the casino. Have some fun.

The service was above average and the waiters were fairly attentive. Our waitress for the table never failed to refill our water through out the whole duration. However when we question her about certain dishes on the menu, her excuse of not knowing more would be she missed the tasting session or she hasn’t tried it before. Which I thought was slightly under-trained. York and I decided to order 5 small dishes to share to try out Sean’s cooking. The first two entrees we ordered were “Crab “n” Cheese Melt: king crab, béchamel, cheddar” and “Mushroom Cigars: roast garlic mayo”. I think we have found York’s favourite dish of the day. This used to be "North", which was an excellent restaurant in its own right. Then some guy called "Sean" took over. :( This place is in Urbanspoon's "$$$$" category, among the fanciest ten restaurants in Adelaide. I'm upstairs in a long vault cellar. It's dark, and reminds me of a cinema. The acoustics are terrible. The mildly excited group of middle-aged ladies at the neighbouring table are painfully loud at times. Richard Gunner's pork chop 8/10 Spiced apples and pears. + cabbage & Parmesan slaw. There's a lot of fairly mundane stuff on this menu. A casino is a place for people with no taste, and lots of money.

One of the new go-to hot spots in Radelaide hails from chef Sean Connolly, one of Australia and New Zealand’s most respected chefs born and bred in the UK. With a string of restaurants behind him, including Astral restaurant at Star City Casino in Sydney, The Grill by Sean Connolly at SKYCITY Auckland and a New York style restaurant and oyster bar, The Morrison in Sydney’s CBD; Sean has turned his attention to Adelaide and opened up his new personal venture in the historic building of the Adelaide Casino called Sean’s Kitchen. The venue itself is quite a sight, modern, contemporary and sophisticated yet casual and relaxed at the same time. Seating is both indoors and outdoors with the latter being along Station Road, steps away from Adelaide’s Riverbank Footbridge and the Torrens River/Elder Park as well as seperate function rooms upstairs overlooking the restaurant floor. There’s an open kitchen and a museum of ham on display… yes, a museum of ham! It’s a very snazzy looking place and something that Adelaide definitely needs. Prior to Sean’s Kitchens opening, I was sent a care package from Sean’s Kitchen and Look Both Ways to sample some of the goodies from Seans’ home-cooking product range. Thanks to the duck fat potato chips recipe card provided, I have now mastered on how to make them at home and they’ve proved to be a hit with family and friends. The tiger and I had a dinner date at Sean’s Kitchen a few week back, and whilst she had already been to the restaurant, I had not and already browsed the menu online to see what tasty delights we were going to treat ourselves to. We decided that instead of ordering a main each, we wanted to try a bit more of the food on offer so opted for small plates to share… and as per usual, we over ordered but no worries(!), we were happy to sample everything. This place has a rich feel to it. The interior is sharply designed and decorated, and gently exudes a sense of finesse. A feeling that is also conveyed by the staff that are well dressed, pleasant and pay attention to the details of the customer. The food doesn't disappoint either. The burger I had was filling, a good size and beautifully cooked. It looked good too but presentation probably needs a rethink to keep up with how other restaurants are dishing up this staple meal. Price wise, everything was on par with a higher end restaurant like this and I didn't feel I'd handed over too much cash for my dining experience at Sean's Kitchen. A fab place to eat by yourself or with friends.

Tasty foods. Nice clean open kitchen. Thanks for our waitress, she was so amazing to save our special night. Very polite and professional. However, other wait staffs seem not pay attention on floor..Hard to get eye contact with them.

Amazing attentive service. It was our anniversary and every staff member wished us well and even wrote it on our dessert platea. Entree was amazing, main was great also and awesome cocktails! Will definitely be back.
