Great staff and even better food! Loved the Paneer butter masala and garlic naan would highly recommend to anyone who likes Indian food.
Fantastic meal even with a groupon deal. Lovely staff and Highly recommend.
I loved the food and service by the staff. My parents and kids loved the food. I am a regular visitor and would strongly recommend to all.
I've been getting take away from New India for years now. The food is magnificent and Gopal and his team are lovely.
I finally got around to eating in with a group of friends this weekend, we shared a variety of dishes and everybody loved the food. The naan, the dahl are to die for.
Great prices, amazing curries and sweet and accommodating staff. What more could you ask for?
The food was awesome, friendly, warm staff ,very affectionate and affordable large meals highly recommend.
I have visited this restaurant numerous times and the staff are always friendly! Definetly recommend as the food is also amazing!
The best Indian restaurant in Adelaide! The food is amazing and the service is unbelievable! Would recommend
Always stop by when in Adelaide. Probably one of, if not the best Indian restaurant that I have been to since coming to Australia. None of this weak ass gravy the others serve up as a curry. They don't give you a choice of any curry in mild, medium or hot! Not flash or fancy, but friendly staff, good service and great food at a fair price. If you miss a good curry, give them a go. Just let them know them how you like your curry made (properly spiced as it should be) and I don't think you will be disappointed.
Always greeted with a smile! Fast service, great lunch deals, always delicious curries and can't go past a cheeky garlic naan. $5 butter chicken rolls got me through uni. One of very few joints open for dinner time this west in the city.
Excellent and delicious food, friendly efficient ladies serving us. Food looked and tasted fabulous, great value for money. The mango lasse was the best we have ever had!
delicious cheese naan and veg curry! my favourite place to grab lunch
Lovely owners happy to make your curry as hot as you like it the paneer vindaloo and garlic naan are AMAZING. My fave Indian restaurant!
The best Indian restaurant in Adelaide!.
When Im looking for lunch this is the only place I go to
One of the best Indian places in Adelaide. An explosion of flavours!Every time we eat here we want to lick the bowls!
The food..the atmosphere..the service..the whole experience..was top shelf..we will be back..
I’ve ordered here for takeway twice now and it’s always been quick. Very close to my uni so it is very handy. Their vegetarian menu is amazing! I also love their vegie fritters with some sort of plum or sweet and sour sauce.
Great value for money. Four seniors looking for good Indian food. NewIndia delivered large quantities of 4-star food at 1-star cost. Service fast and cheerful and clientele mostly Indian (which is a giveaway for authenticity). Will return.
The staff were very friendly and attentive during our entire dining experience. Customer service was fantastic and friendly!
It's a shame we almost passed it by due to roadworks in front of the store which made us think it was closed. The food was delicious and I enjoyed the best butter chicken I've had in a very long time. Visiting from Brisbane and Barossa Valley and will try to get back next time I go to Adelaide!!!
Great Indian foods! The foods were served hot and the staffs were so friendly kept asking us how was the food :) Definitely will come back again
Amazing food with great service. Would recommend any day of the week, absolute gem! Good selection of food as well and will be back for many more dinners to come
Incredibly friendly staff, fast service, awesome pricing and the food is delicious! I go there for lunch every other day and I can't recommend the place enough. Great little spot in the middle of the city.
Located in the city...offers delicious and fresh food...best among all Indian restaurants in Adelaide i have tried...from my side its highly recommended
Delicious! Located in the little less busy end of Hindley St in the CBD, New India offers a great selection of curries and accompaniments. Don't be fooled by the less than impressive setup, because the food comes out fast and is yummy. Their raita serving size is impressive! Worth it!
I've read good reviews about the restaurant and have to say its all true! The owner was really friendly, staff are great, food's fantastic especially their fish curry. Already thinking of coming back
Found this place online looking for Indian food closest to our hotel. Unassuming basic sort of place run by two people. The menu is reasonable and the food is good and coupled with the reasonable prices, this makes a good place to visit when hunger pangs strike.
Very good food and nice service!! Original Indian taste and good location!!
Located in the heart of the city and pricing are amazingly great. Starters were awesome. Tried paneer tikka, samosa, seekh kabh and chicken tikka. Chicken tikka was the best.main course was just alright.could go better. But again I say as per the price food is good.
Find a car park is a nightmare as it's on a prime location.
Great staff and quick service .
I have been to New India through using one of the Groupon voucher which was for a two course meal, an entree and a desert.
The chicken entree was very well cooked and the curry was excellent. However, the entire meal set was very contending and it leaves my stomach with little room for desert. The meal was excellent and I consistently visit the store ever since the first visit. The Malaba was very creamy and it is very pleasant to anyone's taste bud, so was the butter chicken. Highly recommended!!!
I have to say, it's been always a pleasure to have food here. Authentic Indian food and tastes is just so good. Gulab Jamun's are made by chef himself and tastes deliciously awesome.
Highly recommended for Indian food at good price.
What a find!! Just had dinner and the food was fantastic! From the handmade samosa, the to freshly made naan, we couldnt fault the service or the food! Good pricing and great food! Highly recommend for a nice indian meal!
lovely service, for a beautiful girl that was working by herself. we used a scoopon with generous serving sizes and delicious spices and tastes. we ordered an extra nann and couldn't even finish all our food! cheap aswell if you wanted to go there one night in the city!
Amazing food, great service at a decent price. The Vindaloo was full of meat - value for money! Recommended and will be back soon the next time I'm in Adelaide.
Really good food! Don't rate the decor but if you just want some take away lunch it's really good. There's a $5 butter chicken roll which hits the spot! I get mine with cheese naan instead of plain.
Had a function here and was a lot of fun! Food delicious and host service perfect. We were able to choose our menu and had kids options thought of.

Awesome food!!!! Will keep coming back.
Visitor to Adelaide. Prawn sambal and lamb korma were delicious! Service was friendly and efficient. A dining experience worth repeating.
Love the cheese naan. Great food. Full of flavour.
Best Indian food in Adelaide. Time and time again this restaurant never fails to make supreme Indian food I recommend there signature award winning Dhal Mhakni thank you for prompt service and amazing food
Absolutely perfect. This is one of the best Indian restaurants I have eaten in outside of India!
The chef, staff, service and most of all, the food, were all amazing! WELL DONE!
Lamb Vindaloo. Flavorsome & spicey. I have it all the time.
Indian restaurant on Hindley street. During weekday, Hindley street is so quiet! We talked passed and found out there was an indian restaurant, we decided to give it a go. Nice restaurant and staff are friendly. Food was good and in reasonable price, naan bread delicious too.
Excellent food at an excellent price!. While initially New India Restaurant may not look like much and may be very easy to miss on Hindley street, it's easily one of the best Indian Restaurants in Adelaide.
The food is excellent and the naans are quite big in size (I normally eat 2 naans, but 1 naan is filling enough at new india). The staff are friendly and helpful. I have even booked the restaurant before for a private buffet dinner and we were very satisfied by the food and the service that we received. Not to mention how cheap the food is; their lunch specials are very cheap and affordable for Uni students as well!
The only criticism that I've heard from some other people is that the food can sometimes be "average"- but I feel that depends on what curries you are ordering- some are better than others and in my opinion their malai kofta and shahi paneer are one of the best in Adelaide.
So whether you're a uni student looking for a quick lunch/takeaway or looking for a restaurant for your next event, do check out new india.
Delicious food.. I really enjoy coming here.
I've only been a few times but each time has been delicious and positive experience.
It's a shame that the store is so small and not very professionally laid out, but it suits that hawker style experience; almost like an indian hungry jacks or hot-chip shack. The food, however, is fantastic.
The curry's are delicious, last time I went there I had a "medium" plate which was about three cups of cooked rice and three meat/vegetable curry choices, stupidly I thought I would need some naan and a pakora to fill me up (since I was ordering a "medium"); I was very wrong.
The naan is as big a table cloth, and all soft and doughy and just delicious.
The curry's are all robustly spiced but with a delicate balance of flavours which all melt into one another beautifully.
The rice is always fluffy and perfect.
The pakora was a bit dry but nothing some chutney couldn't fix.
I paid just over $11 for my plate, and I nearly had to be rolled out of there for the size of my stomach had grown exponentially.
The rush of the order line is a bit chaotic if you don't know what you want, I sort of felt like Elaine on the Soup Nazi episode of Seinfeld on my first visit, and the women who work behind the baymarie's have incredibly thick accents (which are a little hard to hear through all the noise of Hindley St) and not much patience for idiots who don't know what they want. I received some sympathetic looks from other diners as the server rolled her eyes at me for the third time, after I asked her to repeat herself, and just put my food tray to the 'check-out' (though that might also have been because I happened to be soaking wet that day thanks to being caught in the rain).
Overall the ordering experience is quick and painful and chaotic, but the food is instant and soulful and more than compensates for the service.
Love it, will return.
Very good indeed ... Loved the naan
This resturant casts a weird spell on me. Rushed meal as we arrived later in the night. Dry chicken and lamb. Small hair in lamb and yet I still would come back. Staff pleasant and ambience charming. (food needs some work)
Great value, great taste. While staying in Adelaide for the Fringe this week I checked this place out for a quick take away meal pre-shows. Located in the west end of Hinder St it is clean and has a stripped back vibe to it.
My first pleasant suprised was the cost..$14.50 for my malai kofta, steamed rice and garlic naan. The food was super tasty...flavoursome gravy and good sized koftas. Often these can be dry but these koftas were moist. The garlic naan was huge and yummy! The service was friendly.
I'll definitely visit again on my next visit to Adelaide.
Best food. My favorite restaurant in Adelaide ,best food spacialy chilly paneer I had was delicious ,only parking problem still worth food is great
Great Work New India. Affordable and great tasting food that is always handed to you with a smile! We have ordered take away from New India many times and haven't had a bad experience to date. Heavily recommended!!!!
Amazing Food Personalised Service. Must say that this was my best dining experience at Adelaide, where I found a perfect balance of ambience, warmth in service, Indian music/tele & to top it up authentic Indian food, made by a very humble chef, who came out to ask me if I liked the food....I almost jumped out of my table to give him a hug.
Very nominally priced food & not to mention the low prices on their beers, wines & spirits. Think they would be attracting some students as well, as they have special student deals going, although the time I was at this place, there were all families that walked in.
Have tried many Indian Restaurants across Australia & would very comfortably say that if you are in Adelaide & planning to have Indian.....give this place a try!!!
Not a bad restaurant for a basic Indian meal. A bit slow with service, but when the food eventually arrived it was ok. My aloo gobi was good. Plenty of cauliflower & nice & spicy. Rice was separate & fluffy.
This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also friendly. They know what they're doing and what they're talking about, and you can tell making the customer happy is their main priority. Food is pretty good and some spices, and for their prices it's 100% worth it. I really like my food.
Omg. Best Indian food in South Australia.
Prices are great. Service is excellent. Taste of food is Devine.
Four of us had goat curry, chicken and two vegetarian dishes, rice and naan bread
I have been here six times in 2021.
Excelleny
Overall I was pretty impressed with this place. Service was speedy, the lamb Vindaloo was as hot as the waitress promised and the atmosphere was pleasant. Nothing not to like about it
West end of Hindley Street can be hard to find a good meal. Good place for takeaway. Good service.
