Review Pink Moon Saloon - Adelaide

David Maddison
Who would have thought that Adelaide would be cool enough to have a venue that’s effectively conveyed a lane way into a covered bar? With Scandinavian feels, Pink Moon packs a punch with its cocktails, great service and Uber hip atmosphere. The jambon was also a great accompaniment with our drinks - yum!

Perfect. Extremely friendly bartenders, delicious drinks. The only qualm I have with my 5-star rating is that they recommended their sister bar, Clever Little Tailor. This sister bar was one of the worst bar experiences I have had in the last 2 years.

Gorgeous little setup and design. Uninventive and very basic cocktails on the expensive side. Average, indifferent service: The waitress spilled my drink and then made me clean it up.

Visited the Pink Moon Saloon on our group “Bar Night” out. The cocktails here are fabulous with such a great selection too. This is an Uber Hip Bar with fantastic service & a great drinks menu with an even better atmosphere.

Next time you head down Leigh St keep a look out for the little opening that looks like a European wood log cabin. Step inside and you will be transported to a very cool bar with just about every drink you can think of. You won't find your regular beers hear though but have a good selection to cater for most tastes . Will have to venture further into the rabit hole next time I'm there but first impressions were very good. Llenty of places to sit including room to drink outside on Leight St itself.

Very delicious food. The prawns are Y U M!!! Pork is super tasty. Finish with the lovely desserts, what a perfect ending. Nice and friendly staff. Better book a table as they have limited seating. 😊

Horrible experience. A drink fell off the edge of the table and we were charged for the drink and not offered a replacement. We were told that the replacement had to be paid for if we wanted it. I’ve worked hospitality and I know that one single shot of gin with juice would have been an inexpensive resolution to solve the issue. They also don’t split bills with MANUAL. Eftpos machines.

Absolutely brilliant spot. We stopped for drinks on the way to dinner, and the place was fantastic. The building is stunning, and absolutely gorgeous to look at, the atmosphere was fantastic and the staff were super friendly and fun. I had a delicious non-alcoholic ginger beer, and my friends thoroughly enjoyed their drinks as well. They also had sustainable metal straws! Yay!!

Stumbled across this place and couldn't be happier with this little hidden gem we found. If you're in Adelaide, get yourself here. We went for the set menu, $55pp. The food was 5 *, exquisite. Order it and you won't be disappointed. Cocktails are a divine addition. The decor is cosy and inviting, great lighting, and the music is on point. Tony is charming, informative and an absolute delight who was full of recommendations. Will certainly be coming back. Thanks for a fab night.

Very hospitable and a great place to celebrate a special occasional! The cocktails and food are some of the best in Adelaide! I recommend the feed me menu!!!

The Pink Moon Saloon is Adelaide showing off its small bar credentials. With a fabulous wooden decor come drink in the tiny house from Up. A great drinks list and amazing staff, treat yourself to the selection of slow cooked meats. When I die, I expect the 300g beef brisket waiting for me in heaven.

This is a cool little hole in the wall type of bar. Sort of like a best kept secret or the woman you don't tell your wife about ;-) hard to find but it is a fabulous and almost an exclusive place to have a drink with friends before dinner. Well done guys What a great use of space and the drinks list is very interesting.

Had an amazingly awesome time here. Great craft beer list to be had. Awesome tunes and great friendly service. Will be back to try the food for lunch next time. In my top five places to go to in Adelaide. My only suggestion would be a couple extra more beer taps cause five ain't enough.

On business from Perth, was recommended this place and it didn't disappoint - the staff, the ambiance and the food ('feed me'). It was so good we went two nights in a row 😋 Sensational!!!

What a wonderful atmosphere! The food was awesome, the drinks were awesome and the staff were very welcoming. Thanks for the experience. I will be back!

Quirky and cool place with some of the best food and best customer service we've experienced in a long time. Thank you Jess and Travis!

Really enjoyed the lovely hole in wall. Nice vibe, great grooves, tasty snacks and cold beer. I will be back.

The atmosphere, ambiance, food and most of all the staff make this place! Great tunes too - don't go past the most amazing Club Sandwich ever :) Thanks guys

When you walk in and smell the smoke you know you're in for a good thing! The food is consistently good but we always go for anything that is cured or smoked. Great drinks too.
On our last visit I finally tried the Club sandwich. This was a huge sandwich that came with a serve of their fries. It hit the spot. They also had a Coorong Mullet sandwich on their menu which was the ultimate fish sandwich - fried fish, karkalla (I think) on white bread with the crusts cut off - so good.

Wonderful staff. The man who served us had a lot of knowledge about the wine list, and explained each dish to us as he brought them to the table. However, they were understaffed, so the service did slip quite a bit. I appreciated their efforts though, as you could tell they were working their butts off.
The only cocktail we tried was an aperol spritz, and I was expecting the same old spritz, but something about this one was top notch! Made with love.
The food was a bit inconsistent. Out of the smaller plates that we tried, the mushroom pancake and the chips were quite average. The beetroot pate on the other hand was delicious. The main tomato pasta was amazing - I would go back just for that. The main lamb dish was nice also. I would return on a not as busy night, knowing exactly what to order this time.

Dinner with a group on Saturday night, food was awesome and we left it to the staff to organise. All of the team were excellent, gotta be the best standard of customer service I've seen anywhere. Well done guys, truly great.

A cosy small bar with a mystic saloon vibe. Cool cocktail list. Great range of local wines. Small menu of bar snacks, including some great vegetarian options. Although the staff sadly couldn't accommodate my request for a hot whisky toddy (they don't have the set-up yet, although that may change), the waiter was able to recommend an excellent glass of red. We had some hummus with bee pollen and fingerlime (!!) with bread and it was delicious. Recommended!

Such a lovely little venue! Warm & cosy for an after work drink in winter.
The food menu is nice & short although offers enough variety - the kingfish sashimi is beautiful!
There are yummy cocktails & lovely wines on the drinks menu (sorry, I'm not a beer drinker so skipped past this). Worth visiting!

Sick wait staff, well informed, amazing fit out and great vibe overall! Couldn't have picked a better spot for an afternoon drink in Adelaide

Not bad, not amazing. Bit poky, music was good last time I was there. Bar was incredibly slow and very limited selection IMHO. Certainly ok for a stop-in drink on your way through Leigh Street on your way to somewhere else.

Prompt friendly bar staff, craft beer on tap, wines etc
Waitress recommended a pulled brisket sandwich, delicious.
DJ spinning the tunes was funky & cool into the evening.

Stopped in here for a cocktail and a nibble. Super cute venue, and thankfully easy to grab a seat on a Monday night. We had the deli platter which was a generous serve with 2 slices of brisket, ham and salami plus pickled veggies and bread.

A rad little spot. Fantastic environment inside - really cool decor and a nice atmosphere to sit and have a drink. Great food and drink choices, although the food menu is small. Cool bar staff who are helpful and friendly. Would definitely come back for a drink.

Friday lunch, and not uncommon, we needed to pay separately. Essentially, as we left and went to settle the bill and I was overcharged, only realising once we had exited. I went back to clarify with the gentleman and I was met with a really poor attitude. He said – ‘well you know what, it all ended up correctly’ ‘your blonde friend paid the rest, so she owes you $3.00’. Well it was $6.00. Trivial I know, but I don’t think that the remark “you know what if that’s what you want $3.00 I’ll give you $3.00” was warranted.

I left not only with the incorrect amount of change, (perhaps maybe actually calculate it) but felt the need to embarrass me in front of other customers.

Fun night with engaged bar staff. Great food recommendations and top notch drink selections. The brisket is to die for and the cauliflower is a perfect accompaniment. Will happily return for more banter with the bar tenders who could quite easily be excused for siblings!
Laura
Super cute bar with a great drinks list and friendly staff. The espresso martinis were delicious. I'm looking forward to going back for more.

Fantastic service and top notch food. The menu is small, but they do have specials which I'm assuming would change often. I ordered the Baba ghanoush, hummus, burnt orange labne, dukkah, olives, turkish bread ($12) and the 20hr Smoked heritage beef brisket, cauliflower mash, sweet onion jam (100g for $18). The dips weren't as thick as I usually prefer, but the lightness worked well in this case because the Turkish bread was also very light and delicate. The olives weren't that salty, which I was very relieved to discover. They complemented the rest of the dish very well. The flavours in this dish were extremely well-balanced.

The baba ghanoush was great, but oh my gosh the beef brisket was absolutely sensational! The meat was incredibly tender and fell apart with the lightest tug of my fork. It was extremely juicy and packed with flavour. It was excellent by itself, but pile a little bit of all the other elements on the dish on the beef and you've got yourself an unbelievably delicious mouthful. I also really, really loved the cauliflower mash and found the presence of a creamy element really elevated the dish. I would return just to eat this again.

I was served by two staff during my meal and both of them were lovely. They were very friendly and made me feel very welcome and comfortable.

Needless to say my experience at Pink Moon Saloon was completely faultless. Will definitely be back!

The Pink Moon is hard to find. Look for a door with phases or moon on right side of Leigh st off Hindley st. The Pink Moon is a cocktail bar that's a bit different. Try the 24 hour brisket an the chips for a full belly.

Add in great craft beer on tap or from the fridge & it's a night to remember.

Cool little spot for a drink. The waitress was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We had espresso martinis which were delicious and reasonably priced. Would return and recommend.

Who would have thought you’d find a little log cabin (serving up a carefully-curated drinks menu, no less) wedged into Adelaide’s cityscape? But wander down Leigh Street and you can fool yourself for thinking you’re in the woods – at least for the four metres of pavement this cute little bar dominates. Shovelling up quirkiness in spades, we stopped here for a lazy drink in the internal courtyard and a few nibblettes, pretending we were camping in the mid-west of America, toasting marshmallows and playing our ukuleles.

Had dinner with 6 people on Saturday night. The whole table thought the experience was quite average and we wouldn't go back. We tried the brisket and chicken 'daily chops' (specials) and the club sandwich. We also had the fried chicken starter and house cut chips. Chips received mixed reviews (love or hate, they're just deep fried sliced potatoes). Worst dish was the $8 single lettuce cup which was supposed to have fried chicken in it, but from the 1-2 cubes I saw was just pan or deep fried plain chicken (no breading). Honestly I couldn't taste it, or the pineapple that was apparently in it too. Don't get this dish. The brisket was fine, chicken fine. The dishes are a bit smokehouse meets fine dining (lots of pureed and pickled things), which just made it seem like they're trying too hard. The club sandwich was pretty good and I would recommend it. As for service, they don't write anything down which led to them not bringing someone's drink until 3 reminders were given (oh and making it not as ordered), forgetting someone's main dish, and stuffing up a side order. Overall, if you're quite hip you will like the bar, and probably be able to convince yourself that their food is great too. Our conclusion was we wished we'd stayed home instead.

Love it ! So busy on a Friday night. The front bar is packed but we booked a table for 4 through email so we could eat dinner. There are only 2 booths up the back which are perfect for groups of 4-6. The service was exceptional and I couldn't believe the quality of the food from such a small bar. We had the tasting platter, the daily special which was brisket and salads. All were outstanding. Best bar food & atmosphere !

Now before we start – lets just get one thing out of the way. We love an abbreviation here at Burger Me. You know – Burger Theory could be BT. Rob Roy Hotel might become RRH, Bread and Bone turns into B&B through a review. You get the idea. Makes typing quicker, reading kind of easier and more akin with the sms/text speak crazed world we live in (where you would incidentally never see the word ‘akin’). But just so you know, we won’t be playing that game here though. Its just not the message we would like to convey.

So pleasantly blown away by this great little bar on leigh st Adelaide. Blink and youll miss it, and you wouldnt want to miss this gem!!!! Amazing architecture and ambience inside. Woodfire/charcoal chicken over a bed of black bean mash and labneh =absolutely amazing. Also came with a fresh spicy salad. Great drinks and service. We cant wait to go back!

A great place to go for cocktails as well as a great club sandwich. They've also got a wood oven/grill with meat specials. Gets really warm with the wood oven and the outdoor segment. But highly recommend!

The newest addition to Leigh Street is the cute and somewhat hidden bar and restaurant that goes by the name of Pink Moon Saloon. Blink and you’ll almost miss it! Unless there’s a small crowd out the front which piques your interest. 😉. The bar is narrow but runs deep with indoor and outdoor seating, bar stools along the wall and front bar, or get a group and snag a booth area towards the back. It’s warm and comforting and feels like you’re in a warm cabin somewhere amongst the mountains with the use of timber throughout the structure of the bar and of course, their furniture.

"The only place on Leigh St that looks like a tiny house" is how Pink Moon Saloon was described to me.. The place is small but well setup for groups, the beer list is thoughtfully selected and the menu, short and sweet. The club sandwich has a lot going for it, as does the cheese plates and ploughman's platter. Good stuff, perfect with a cold drink. Great, efficient service too!

Would definitely recommend and go again!

Located along the CBD's competitive Leigh Street, Pink Moon Saloon is perhaps Adelaide's smallest bar - a cabin, not much larger than a hotel room, located in a previously vacant ally. We visited on a Saturday evening, and it was clear the word was out about this place. For good reason too, Pink Moon Saloon has a solid drinks list, good music and a brief, delicious food menu.

We arrived around 7.30, scoring the last three seats available. Between three people we ordered the potatoes, club sandwich and the meat of the day: half chicken with a peach salad. All the food was really good. The chicken special and club sandwich were equal best. The drinks were also great - loved the beers in large stein glasses.

Given how busy the place was, service was decent enough. We, however, found ourselves chasing the bar staff. In all, would recommend this place to others, and will return again, perhaps, at a less busier time or once the hype dies down.

This is probably the most bizarre place in Adelaide so far. Leigh St in itself is a pretty awesome pedestrian friendly shared use street with outdoor dining and constant movement of people. Pink Moon Saloon is a like a Wendy House sandwiched between two buildings in a tight little laneway. It stands out so much that it looks totally out of place - which is absolutely fantastic.

Stepping into the threshold and you can't even tell that you're in Adelaide. The smooth timber walls and exposed ceiling makes you feel like you're in someone's wood cabin in North America and there's a wood fire burning away. There's even a thermometer, arrows and other bits and pieces to finish off the whole cabin feel. It is absolutely fantastic.

The menu itself looks so complicated because it is so simple. Don't come here expecting a big meal - they've got fancy salads and sandwiches. Don't fret though, the sandwiches are massive and the salads fresh and plentiful. The bottled condiments and sauces are a clever touch as well.

Overall, it's more of a drinking hole than a restaurant, so if you want to catch up with friends on a Friday afternoon this is the place to go. We definitely need more Pink Moon Saloons in Adelaide.

Love this place. Best place to sit is right at the window that looks through the bar. No need to ever move or do anything but sit and eat and drink. Let the folks behind the bar look after you all afternoon after work. Have a couple brews, have a cocktail and eat 'til you can't move.
The Adelaidian
Nestled in what once was an empty 3.7m wide alleyway, it is safe to say Pink Moon Saloon is the biggest yet smallest addition to Adelaide’s niche bar scene. Being one of the most anticipated locations of the summer, Pink Moon Saloon swung open its chalet-esque doors to the public the Friday just passed. Crowds swarmed to get a glimpse at what all the fuss was about, and we at The Adelaidian couldn’t help but have a peek ourselves.
Adelaidefoodcentral
Walking down Leigh Street, I was perplexed to see what looks like a fancy tree house – right in the heart of Adelaide CBD! Set up by the guys who run Clever Little Tailor in the neighbouring street, Pink Moon Saloon may look small on the outside, but just like the Tardis in Doctor Who, it is so much bigger on the inside!

Very pleasant atmosphere, great food, pork, & King fish and good selection of local wines . The double local great, pork & pickle ! I enjoyed it!
