Review Lady Burra Brewhouse - Adelaide

Melbourne Samurai
I had one Irish Beer which I really didn’t like! But the Pale Ale was spot on! Amazing taste! I had some sausage, wings, veggie mini burgers, everything was delicious, It was an amazing trip to Adelaide and I loved it at Lady Burra Brewhouse! Keep up the amazing work, will visit again soon! Sorry for the blurry photo, I was a bit tipsy😅

Great vibes, good music and fun. Food was extremely yum and so the drinks. Good to know about the history of this Brewery. Me my Husband absolutely loved it ❤️.

Love the atmosphere of Lady Burra Brewhouse for some after-work drinks and fries. Their menu theme is brewhouse meets a Portugese twist. We enjoyed the meatballs and calamari, however unfortunately the flavours in the paella croquettes were more Indian than Spanish. As for the pork sliders, the pork and brie pairing just didn’t go well together. A great spot for drinks and some quick bites.

Went to the Lady Burra for a late work Christmas Lunch. I ordered the Vegan Mushroom Burger. It was really nice and seasoned really well. Their apple cider isn't very sweet, so I recommend if you like sweet cider not to get it. But it is still nice.

Pretty cool setting amongst the CBD, 2 or 3 room settings plus outside on the patio area👍 Brewed beers on tap are quite good🍻

$10 for a Pint of Cider.... The glass is full of ice and then the Cider is added. Bizarre! I asked for no ice and was told that would be $15. This is because it's 8.2% alcohol apparently (without the 50% watering down of melted ice). Service a bit standoff-ish. Suggest spend your money elsewhere that are glad for the business. Oh and review of the Cider - horrible. Hopefully the beer is better without the ice and pricing structure.

Amazing food, average staff, no table ready for us when booked and could have got drunk by licking the menus they were that sticky lol. Come for the food and leave.
Trent Boyle
A reliable decent venue. Great good, efficient service, and plenty of cold booze on tap. Everything you need!

A place to wine and dine after a busy week or kick start a night out. The food is fresh, delicious and you find yourself wanting to order the entire menu.

Went to Lady Burra last night with a group of 16 and we all loved it! The atmosphere was fantastic. The staff were really friendly and accommodating when we had a few extra friends join us. Even though we had a large food order...the food came out together and was seriously good. What’s there not to like...great food, atmosphere and vino! Will definitely be going back.

Dined there last night. It was a great find and excellent pricing on meals. There has to be a better way to deal with the orders, table numbers etc. We had 2 wait staff try to give us incorrect meals (both checked with multiple tables before and after us) and when our meal came out as "ordered" the chicken burger was actually a beef burger. It didn't detract from our visit and we will be back but it definitely needs to be dealt with, particularly when it is as busy as it was last night.

Delicious food, great beer and a fun atmosphere. Another great Adelaide establishment. Highly recommend!

The beer was quite good - the best beer I have found in Australia. The chorizo pizza was okay. Service was very good. Staff knew a lot about beer.

Needed to find a place for 10 work colleagues and I for a celebration. Someone in the group had recommended Lady Burra to us. We were not disappointed. We all ordered a few dishes off of the menu to share. Our table was soon filled with a little of everything off of the menu. The only thing that we would change on the night was that we didn’t have bigger stomachs so that we could eat more. We have settled as a team that we will have to come back for our next celebration.

Arron the bar tender had the worst customer service I have ever received, rude arrogant and was not helpful at all. Recommend a beer which was flat and had zero flavour. Was happy to take my money but wasn't keen at all to help me out when my expectations were not meet. Served me a flat beer and was happy to let me drink it. Once I realized this beer no good he didn't want anything to do with me. Disguting and appalled.

Lovely blend of Portuguese influenced cuisine, craft beer and atmosphere. My go to spot in the CBD.

The service was terrible and slow, I had to wait over 15 minutes for my paid (and overpriced) ordered drink whilst the bartenders served other people, the music was extremely loud, too hard to hold conversations and my partner was metal detected on the way in. For a sit down bar experience I would never bother coming back.

I know it was the last Friday before Christmas but the service was so slow...we waited over an hour for our meals. I ordered the sweet potato fries. There’s was nothing outstanding about them and no reason they should have taken an extended period in the kitchen before appearing.<br/><br/>The wait staff recommending drinks needs to better understand the drinks menu. We ended up with a sweet rose not the dry sparkling we thought we were ordering. <br/><br/>I would not recommend this bar - there are many others around that provide a better quality of service- both service and provision of food and beverages

This place has THE worst service I have ever been to in my entire life. I waited patiently for a serving of average and overly priced meatballs. The maitre'D was also upset at how we were a big group. We should've taken our business elsewhere. Mostly everyone in the group were not happy with their food. If you're gunna charge that much, atleast make it worth it. No one should have to wait for 40 minutes for some damn meatballs. Was not even compensated for it. BELOW AVERAGE FOR SURE.

We booked a big group for our work Christmas lunch, for 24 people, pre ordered food for that many too, so they knew we had that many. We got 2 tables in the outdoor section (no air-conditioning and it was boiling hot), the tables only seated 8 people, 10 at a squeeze. They were rude and un-apologetic. They added another small table but had no others for us, but we still had a couple of people sitting off from the table as there was no space for them.  People were holding their plates in front of them as we were so squished in at the tables. Food was missed, it was pre-ordered but still slow. There was not enough cutlery on the tables, we were halving napkins to share, we had to get our own water. Drinks were slow and had to be taken at the table, in fact one person got in trouble for attempting to order a drink at the bar because the waiter had missed her in the drink round. Shame because the food is actually quite good. Bad because we pre-booked and clearly we were shoved in as an after thought and they were not organised for a large group at all. If you have a large group, this is not the place for you.

Loving the vibe Lady Burra Brewhouse gives off! Staff were friendly, and food was 3.5 stars at best - not great, but not bad either. The chicken tenders were a bit too dry, but the soft taco board was pretty awesome if I'm being honest. The raspberry and honey beer was also interesting on the palette, and paired nicely with the food.

Came here for a hen's night, wonderful moody atmosphere - good for a drink or 5. Sangria jugs were spot on, so refreshing and the pizzas filled the gap. Looking forward to a next time so I can experience the inside!

Good place to meet up for after work drinks and casual food menu. If you are going with a group booking a table is advisable, can be busy. Good selection of beers on tap and central location.

Went here on a Friday night with a group of friends for dinner and the food was tasty and the waitress who looked after us for the night was extremely friendly. However, everyone else who was working that night seemed uninterested. A few of us went by the counter/bar to order and despite there being 4 staff members there, we were completely ignored for at least 5 minutes. I could understand if they were busy serving but not all 4 of them were. One was making drinks, a couple were delivering drinks to the customers and there was one guy drying the cups. I even caught eye contact with him and the guy making drinks at some point and they just carried on with what they were doing. Even if they were busy, they should've acknowledged us and say "oh, we'll be with you in a moment" or something along those lines. The guy who ended up taking our orders seem uninterested and turns out he was because he mixed up our order. We ordered one of the pizzas but got a burger. The lovely girl waitress apologized for the mix up and got what we ordered in the end. If it weren't for her and the food being decent, I'd probably give a lower rating. As for food recommendations, I liked the chicken wings and the selection of different chips

Fabulous atmosphere, menu has a great variety. I ordered the Paella which is a Friday/Saturday special and it was delicious! Staff were super lovely too 😀

Came here for my birthday lunch and to be honest, I wasn't amazed. The brewhouse itself is awesome and the idea of having a microbrewery in the city is amazing but personally I think the experience was just average. The service wasn't memorable, nobody was really wowed by their meals and I think it's kinda disappointing when you order a beer paddle only to be given 4 beers minus the paddle because supposedly the glasses didn't fit properly? Even though half the table (who had ordered 5 mins earlier) had received them? Just kinda ruined the fun of it.

So. Came here once with beer loving friends. Beer was okay, food was sub-par. Thought we might try again to come for a drink. Arrived just before midnight for a drink - cool if you're not open but maybe be polite about it. Door was open, walked in, staff gave the finger across the throat motion. It's fine if you're closed, but maybe a more polite way of expressing that would be more appropriate.

Love love love. As a visitor to Adelaide who frequents Melbourne's many bars, I am SUPER impressed and cannot wait for my next trip just to come back here. Vibe, live music and food is on point and well priced. Food service was efficient with the wait being between 10-15 minutes for all of out tapas. It was quite a cold evening so I was very impressed when a staff member moved the heater closer towards my friend and I as we were the only people sitting in that area. The same staff member later returned to offer us a jug of cocktail that had accidentally been made on the house. This absolutely made our night and we'll be gushing about the awesome service for a long time. Whatever it is that you're doing guys, keep doing it!!

When I lived in Adelaide, the highlight of a Topham Mall visit was getting stuck in the UPark lift. Now there’s bagels, flowers, Asian fusion yuminess in the form of Kang Kong and this cute little micro-brewery named after Lady Burra.<br/><br/>If you know your largers from your pale ales (I don’t), Lady Burra Brewhouse is no doubt a form of paradise, with lots of artisan brewed-on-site beers to choose from and a fully-functional brewery to admire. Of course, I snobbed all of these yeast-based choices for the wine list. If you’re on the fence, try a brewtail – the Beergarita sounded intriguing…<br/><br/>Admittedly, I don’t like beer, but you don’t have to like beer to appreciate the space. It’s fun sitting amidst the indoor/outdoor brewery, with its street art, repurposed wood and winks to industrialism, plus a kitchen to feed the hungry.

Buy a bottle of wine and try the food. Plenty of tasty choices. The whole place smells like delicious food. If you're a beer lover, try a bottle of wine.<br/>Nice fit out. Nice staff.

Lady Burra are the first micro brewery in the CBD of Adelaide. I would like to think that by saying they are ‘the first’ rather than ‘the only’ that someone else will be looking to join them in the not to distant future. I guess time will tell, but this is some positive thinking on my part.

Cool little place with a wicked atmosphere. Service was good and fast! Food came out really quickly even though the place was busy! Very tasty food also. Only negatives were that there was hardly any gravy with the chips and gravy and the staff kept hovering around the table trying to take away plates all the time when we weren't even finished with the food half the time. Literally had someone at our table more than every 5 minutes. Please relax a little bit and let people finish their food. Better the plate sits there longer than it be taken away unfinished. Also probably could lower the prices for the food... $18 for 4 small serves of chips on a board or $15 for 5 meatballs is a bit steep, even if it tastes good.

Lady Burra, at the corner of Curry Street and Topham Mall, is the first microbrewery/bar in Adelaide's CBD.<br/><br/>We have walked past the place many times before and also heard good things, so finally checked it out for the first time on a busy Friday night.<br/><br/>There's tables and bar seating out the front. Head in and there's a shared outdoor/indoor area plus plenty of casual and formal areas to sit. Inside, there's an industrial feel, an open kitchen and large communal bar - it all makes for a cool fit-out. A large glass wall that lets patrons look into the brewery is also great.<br/><br/>As other reviewers have said, the place has a large after-work crowd. We arrived around 7pm on the Friday and it was very busy, but, luckily, we got a table for four for dinner inside. <br/><br/>There's no table service so all orders are placed at the bar. Plenty of bar staff, but one computer between them made service frustratingly slow.<br/><br/>Food menu is quite diverse and, in my opinion, too big. There's pizzas, burgers, tapas, mains, sides, sliders, and a huge specials board; maybe narrow it down a bit. On our visit, we stuck with tapas. <br/><br/>Between four people, we had chorizo, chicken wings, meatballs, pork belly and a side of sweet potato fries. Chicken wings and pork belly were the best dishes; but the chorizo was a miss and too expensive. Also, the untoasted white bread on the side was strange. <br/><br/>Naturally, the beer options are good - many also available on-tap. The wine and cocktails lists were solid as well.<br/><br/>In all, Lady Burra was pretty cool. They need to fix the slow service at the bar, but the food, drinks and the atmosphere were all cool. I will return and recommend others to also give it a try.

Came here for lunch today. Great beer & hot chips. Pizza, whilst thin was soggy - possibly prepared earlier given how quickly it came out?? And the salad tasted like it had come straight from the fridge already prepared with just the cheese added at the end. Will come back for beer & hot chips if I'm nearby but not for anything else.

Nestled in the heart of the CBD, just off Topham Mall is Lady Burra Brewhouse. When you hear that it's a brew house, you might think that it's all about brewing and beer when it's not - it also serves some delicious Portuguese styled food. Recently, we were kindly invited to Lady Burra Brewhouse to sample their new menu, focusing on Portuguese Tapas. All food and beverages were provided on behalf

Beer selection gets 4.5 and surprisingly the pizza earned 3.5 stars. We were in a hurry to get to Adelaide Oval for he cricket and lady burra did the job!
The Adelaidian
Lady Burra, the Adelaide CBD’s only Brewhouse, bar and kitchen was kind enough to invite The Adelaidian to attend their ‘Eat & Tweet’ in conjunction with Girl ABout Town PR for a delightful degustation dinner last Tuesday night. We began the night mixing and mingling, taking photos, and enjoying the delicious starters: citrus marinated salmon and mozzarella stuffed chicken wings. These were served alongside our first beer, a very crisp American pale ale that went down almost too easily. As the summer nights approach, I imagine this will be a top choice for those enjoying a pint with friends after work.

Having opened their doors to the Adelaide crowd in early 2015, Lady Burra Brewhouse has had a pretty spectacular year, attracting scores of Adelaideans, especially on Friday and Saturday nights with their open-spaced bar and dining area, excellent hospitality from their staff, and an overall refreshing feel of spending quality time by the once empty – now vibrant Topham Mall.

Lady Burra Brewhouse is Adelaide’s only microbrewery in the CBD. Opening just over six months ago, it’s serving several homemade brews alongside a Portuguese inspired menu. Head chef, Rosa da Silva Dantas de Sa, has created a menu to match the brews, which are produced right there on the premises.

Adelaide's first inner city microbrewery is a novelty for some and for others an excuse to drown your sorrows midweek. Though producing fine beverages and a trendy vibe with an industrial feel, dinner doesn't rate quite as highly. The burgers; pork and beef were pretty good and standard. Kudos to having a solid variety of chips and thus offering a chip tasting plate, but if you do this, pls make sure at least 2 out of the 4 chip varieties actually taste desirable. The round chips were just bland half cut potatoes which needed some oomph or at least some salt, the potato bravas was much too salty, I can't even remember what the fat chips tasted like (not good) and the beer battered ones were the only scrumptious, crunchy offering. Pls lift the spud game.

This reviewer was lucky enough to be invited to the Portuguese-inspired menu launch degustation dinner at Lady Burra Brewhouse, a relatively new bar on the –bursting-at-the seams-but-let’s-face-it-no-one-is-sad-about-that– dining scene in Radelaide. So strap in guys, this is quite the ride…

me along to sample their extensive range of beers brewed in-house as well as some Portuguese style food. Despite my never ending quest for craft beers, this was my first visit to the Topham Mall establishment that opened just earlier this year. Upon entering you are given the visual treat of some. impressive artwork that was a collaboration of four different Adelaide artists. I

Adelaide Food Central was invited to the Lady Burra Brewhouse new menu launch. All food and drinks provided were complimentary. Lady Burra is the full-fledged microbrewery in Adelaide CBD, proudly owning three fermenters on the site. The artisan beers produced from the brewery are absolutely fantastic with its smoothness, creaminess and distinct flavour. Little did I know that there is a story behind the name Lady Burra.

Great atmosphere and attentive staff. I had the fish which was served with roast potatoes and carrots, as well as salsa on bread. It seemed odd but the fish was cooked beautifully and the flavours all worked well. Others at my table ordered salads and seemed happy enough. Most importantly, the beer was yum and we are already discussing a return to try the chip tasting plate!

Called to make a reservation for dinner and told they don't make reservations, just walk ins. We arrive to find most tables with "reserved" signs on them... Service was pretty bad, we asked for a table and were told there was a wait which we were happy to do. We asked if we could go for a walk and come back in 15 minutes but were told we would lose our table this way. They didn't offer us a bench to wait at. Food was average, under seasoned and generally not great. We asked for cutlery - brought out only enough for 3 people when we were 5. Will not be going back.

Lady Burra Brewhouse, Adelaide’s first and only microbrewery, opened her doors to the public on Friday last week. Complete with bar and kitchen, the beer aficionados of this great city will be frothing. The Adelaidian was lucky enough to get in early and experience the brews and chews on offer before they officially opened to the public later that evening.

Great bar complete with inner city micro brewery! I'm not a beer aficionado but i sure did enjoy what I was drinking. I also enjoyed the pizza and salad. The only thing that fell flat was the chip tasting board. I love a good chip and the exitment of chips 4 ways was too much to resist but sadly it didn't live up to my hopes and dreams. This place is very popular at the moment and fills up quickly on a friday night. Get there before 5 or wait until the after work crowd has thinned out to avoid having to line up (the horror!).

Great little place in Ads. Full of cosy atmosphere and so novel to see a brewery in the city. The decor is very 'now', comfortable seating and the outdoor heaters are amazing in this cold winter! 6 of us shared 3 pizzas and 2 chip tasting plates (the beer battered chips are a must). Very impressed with the delicious food especially as it only cost us $15 each. I can't wait to go back to this awesome little gem!

Tried to make a booking for a large group after hearing about their functions services through Facebook.<br/>Had to call back myself days later after they said they would return my call- <br/>only to be told they only take walk-ins.Very disappointing, completely contradictory to what their facebook indicates. Bad management. <br/>"Looking for somewhere to host your next function? The Lady loves a party. The photos below are from a recent Christmas in July function. Give our host Miguel a call for details (08) 8231 8928." ???

It was very popular. They were full whrn we first went so we had a drink somewhere else and went back. There was a spare table. Our experience was varied. We went for two of the specials - a pork sausage and the burger. The burger bun was great - think it was made in house with one of their beers. The patty though was thin and got lost in the burger. Both the burger and chips were underseasoned. The pork sausage was great with mash and bean stew. Unfortunately the sauce was overseasoned and salty. Good range of beers though. Efficient staff.
Lemongrass
Mixed feelings about this new venue. They are ticking a lot of the boxes but have fallen short in a few key places since opening. Opening times, inconsistent menu, telephone issues. Miguel who is part owner and the front of house manager is the reason this place will be successful in the long run. He is a smart operator and knows what success looks like. He knows what people want. The fit out is up there with Adelaide's best. Love the mural of Lady Burra. The food is good but needs work. Pizza is the safe option and is wood fired deliciousness. The other dishes I tried were good but not great. Under seasoned ( with no salt and pepper on the table) and lacking any real wow factor. Home cooking style food is ok but in today's competitive industry still needs some wow. Look at what Lady Burra's neighbours Peel street, Press and Delicatessen are plating up to get an idea of this CBD locations benchmark. Service is friendly but a little scattershot and disjointed. Pricing is around the mark. Lady Burra has everything it needs to be a success story but needs to get the teething issues sorted quickly and get some wow onto the plates that aren't filled with pizza. I will be back soon to try again.

Wandered in on Tuesday arvo to sample the brews after lunch - and there were probably 10 or so people in there. Got told they were closed and to come back another day later in the week - as they were still "trying to work out their opening hours". Tip from a seasoned hospitality worker - be flexible at the start - serving up a tasting would have got you a good review and given you had the staff on anyway - wouldn't have killed you.
