What can I say! Went to Hill of Grace for my 54th birthday, first of all I was blown away by the view! Then the food, so many flavours, so fresh & perfectly cooked. I can thoroughly recommend this place!!

Celebrated our 26th Wedding Anniversary. The staff were very friendly and knowledgable regarding the food and wines. The food was beautifully presented and very flavoursome. This is an exceptional restaurant, we would liked only to have had some extra time between courses and be offered coffee toward the end. Of course the view was amazing. A true gem of Adelaide.

Had Friday Lunch with my wife and family for mum's birthday. The ambience, the food, the staff, the service, the wine, the fine dinning experience, it was all Excellent. We also had a Stunning view of the Adelaide Oval. The staff even personalised one of the dessert plates to read happy birthday for Mum plus she got a complimentary dessert which made her birthday extra special. We cannot wait to return and have some more of their amazing Sisig and try other options on our next visit. Thank you Hill of Grace Restaurant for the Amazing experience!

It was an amazing dining experience to enjoy the collaboration of two unique South Australian icons, Adelaide Oval and Henschke wines. Impeccable table service with extensive knowledge of other South Australian wines on offer. Highly recommend.

What a brilliant experience. We ordered the 5 course degustation menu, yes it was very expensive, but so worth it. Not a mouthful that wasn't ooh-ahhh delicious. I would recommend it to any foodies. Wasn't at all stiff and stuffy was a totally relaxing and enjoyable experience - a brilliant Christmas, farewell, birthday or wedding present. As Mr Nike said "Just do it"!!!

Our daughter shouted us to an eight course degustation with paired wines to celebrate her birthday and good exam results. It was a memorable night with food so beautifully prepared matched with outstanding wines. The service was exceptional, friendly staff who knew the food and wines and could answer any question we asked. I loved the way that someone from the kitchen came out to ask what your favourite dish was and discuss it with you. There was some lovely surprises at the end of the evening. I hope to return again one day. Highly recommended.

Gary and I celebrated our 35th Wedding Anniversary at Hill of Grace Restaurant last Saturday night (28th Jan). We would like to thank everyone there for a wonderful night, especially George our waiter. The food ,atmosphere and views were amazing, we could not fault a thing. We would’ve loved to do the degustation but with our small stomach we opted for the a la carte. We started with some oysters and pan seared scallops. Oysters were really fresh and the scallops were outstanding! Smells amazing too. Followed by the duck for my main and lamb for my fiancé’s main. Cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth, all those foodie comments you can think of. We ended our meal with the chocolate dome - again perfect! But to top it all of is our amazing waitress Emma who made us feel so comfortable and answered all our weird questions 😅 Overall, one of the best dining experience that we’ve had in a very long time. Oh and have I told you that the wines were spectacular?! Pricey dining experience but worth it.

Back in the old days when I was still a wine scientist, Tina and I used to visit the Brasserie quite often to try em’ out.

Had a lovely night at hill of grace. Service was impeccable, food was lovely and overall atmosphere was great. The pricing is in accordance with fine dining but you definitely get your money's worth. Would recommend for special occasions.

We had the most amazing dinner at the Hill of Grace for our anniversary. We chose to have the 8 course degustation with matched wines and could not fault a single thing. The wines were perfectly paired with each dish and the service was spot on. Standouts courses were the lobster and beef. The soothing sound of a saxophone in the background, alongside perfect mood lighting and a view of the oval all added to the overall wonderful experience we had. The staff also made every effort to make us feel special and the little extras meant a lot to us. We can't wait to go back!

Being of Filipino (or Pilipino) heritage, it's really pleasing to see that Filipino food is becoming more popular in Australia and Adelaide specifically with a number of places opening up over the last year. It's also really pleasing to see that a fine dining restaurant such as Hill of Grace has taken a chance on a Filipino menu. We selected the 9 course degustation menu with matched wines totalling $295 per person. Before I get into the review, our sommelier and waiters for the night were very knowledgeable and attentive so the service was spot on - we wouldn't expect anything less from a restaurant like this. Ok, now the food.

Saturday night birthday dinner. From the moment we walked in the service was spot on and it stayed that way right to the end. The restaurant has a lovely feel to it and there was plenty of space between the tables so that conversations were not impeded. I hadn't realized the chef's background was Filipino and was pleasantly surprised to find that slant on the menu. After comparing the A la carte menu to the degustation menu we opted for the degustation with wine pairings. The food was all beautifully presented and delicious. The wine matchings were all excellent and I tried a few styles that I wouldn't normally pick. Whilst there was absolutely nothing unpleasant about the experience and I would recommend it to others, I think, unlike some other SA degustations that I've tried, this will not be a repeat experience.

Friday lunch for my partners birthday was in short fabulous.The service was imformative attentive and warm from beginning to end, and extra brownie points for making special considerations when hearing of our celebration..Thankyou.It made our day small acts of kindness..
The food was interestingly delicious, more than an average meal tasting each element on our plates were flavours butsting in our mouth. The betamax was interesting and very rich, even for me.( a red meat would be a better choice as a main for flow) .All courses enjoyed in a timely manner.
The view is mesmerizing, like a fire burning or an ocean ebbing.
A great afternoon of beautiful food service and secenery.

Everything about Hill of Grace at Adelaide Oval screams quality – from the fit out to the service, the food and the wines.  I’ve always liked Dennis Leslie’s food.  I used to sing every Friday at the Hilton when Dennis was the chef there so I’d regularly enjoy a meal in the Brasserie after I’d finish.

I have been to Hill of Grace twice now and both times I have left feeling a little bit let down. I think it's because I had such high expectations and my experience didn't quite match them on both occasions.
Before I get into that, I just have to say that the restaurant handled my severe allergy like absolute champions. They were all over it and had suggested and modifications ready when were ordering. Not every restaurant handles it well, but these guys really nailed it.
The food is good, although I felt that some of the dishes were not balanced. For example I had a dish (which I cannot now recall the name of) in a broth, but the broth completely over powered the rest of the dish and tasted very strongly like Chinese rice wine. It was too much. Everyone's mains were solid, but not outstanding. My beef was cooked perfectly, but the many beetroot accompaniments were, well, too much beetroot.
Overall the staff we encountered were brilliant, but for one exception, who did a massive waiter faux pas! I won't elaborate, because I feel it would do the rest of the staff a disservice to set it out online, but our table was pretty unimpressed by his conduct.
I can't really pinpoint what it was about the restaurant that didn't quite hit the mark, but I think for the price and expectations I had, it wasn't quite good enough. I will try again though, third time lucky...?

Outstanding. Food art in every sense, staff who really genuinely care that you're enjoying everything, and make sure that you do - such a rarity in Australia - attentive, knowledgeable and caring - and a great environment. For a special occasion, it's worth every cent. Thank you, we will definitely be back!

Absolutely Lovely!. We had a wonderful evening here celebrating our wedding anniversary with the 8 course degustation with matching wine flight. I really enjoyed the dishes and especially the slight Asian fusion/vibe that was there. It gave the dishes freshness. It was wonderful trying so many flavours for the first time and the combinations worked fantastically. Really flavorsome food and my favourite was the Kingfish, despite not being a seafood lover...go figure! The wines were matched perfectly, which I could imagine would be tricky, given its only Henschke wines. The highlights for me were the Kingfish, the pork, the steak and the 2 desserts (im a sweet tooth). The final dessert being the sourdough crumbs with stout ice-cream was the standout dish, absolutely amazing. I also have to give credit to the staff who were all brilliant. They were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being over the top, which just made our night. Thank you HOG, looking forward to returning.

Mortgage the house, but worth it.. Our party of 4 had the 8 course degustation with matched wines last night & although we had doubts as to how much value we would get for $590 per couple, it was a wonderful & memorable experience. Most of the wines we all agreed matched perfectly & the food was a delight. Such flavours & freshness - totally unexpected, as we knew nothing about Filipino food. We are all foodies & had 100% attention from staff, sommeliers & even chef Dennis Leslie, who spent quite a bit of time with us at the end of the night. We also were given a taste of a rather nice (& expensive!) pinot gris which was opened especially for us when the Birthday girl saw it in the display fridge. Amazing personal service that you expect but often don't receive at a restaurant of this calibre. And don't forget the location. Hard to find in the stadium, but once there, the view is quite something.

A one of a kind dining experience!!. Upon entering the stylish dining room, the view of the Adelaide Oval takes on a completely different feel from game day. The foyer opens into an elegant room that features a wall displaying every Hill of Grace vintage since 1958! We decided on the degustation menu and were not disappointed. Each course seemed to transition into the next and was superbly matched with the Henschke wines. My favorite was the quail, cooked perfectly and had so many flavors going on in the dish. One of the courses even has a glass of Hill of Grace paired with it (served in the most impressive decanter I've ever seen!) Waitstaff were attentive and unobtrusive at the same time. I was amazed how the chef has taken traditional regional cooking from around the world and uses local ingredients and techniques to make it truly Aussie! I was so glad to see a high level of food prepared without being masked by foams, gels and other "gimmicks" that you see nowadays. The ingredients and flavors were let to shine through for themselves. This is the perfect place for a romantic dinner or a special occasion!

My degustation experience was one of a kind. Hill of Grace menu boasts an originality. The creation and its taste speaks for itself. The matching wine with every menu made it more exciting and for me it is superb. Truly brand new food journey worth spending money for!!!

Absolutely magnificent in every aspect. We had the degustation and every meal was an exciting ménage of flavors and textures that we thoroughly enjoyed. Staff and ambience were of the highest level. Adelaide finally has one of the great eating experiences in Australia.

Our experience with Hill of Grace Restaurant was perfect from the beginning. When York made the booking over the phone, the lady was extra polite and pleasant to speak to. When we stepped out of the elevator on the 3rd floor of the Adelaide Oval, the waitress was already waiting for us around the area. She said the direction to the restaurant wasn’t very clear, so she doesn’t want us to get lost. York already mentioned over the phone that we will have the 8 course degustation for dinner. It was unfortunate that both of us felt a bit sick that night, so we decided to save the 8 famous Henschke matching wines with degustation for our next special occasion. Unforgettable fine dining experience with a spectacular view of the oval. Had the 5 course degustation with wine pairing for the birthday, and it was a delightful night. The food was fantastic each course was well balanced and prepared to perfection matching of the wines was superb. Pascal, the Restaurant Manager looked after for the night, he was extremely attentive and runs a tight ship with exceptional customer service. His knowledge of food and wine is unparalleled. He made the evening feel relaxed and explained the food and wine perfectly. I would absolutely recommend this place for a special occasion or a nice evening out.

From the moment we stepped into the restaurant we were impressed by the warm reception, the ambience and the fabulous view of the Adelaide Oval in lights. Drink orders were taken and delivered promptly and the nature of the degustation meal explained by an absolutely charming staff member. Then the food - totally sublime and served at a perfect pace throughout the evening. Every course was a taste bud's dream. The whole evening was faultless and we strongly recommend a visit if you want to experience a class act. Sincere thanks to all the staff.

An absolutely amazing experience. There are so many ‘stars’ of this show. Without doubt, Adelaide Oval itself - it is hard to miss it! But the most exciting and enjoyable stars are the wonderful staff and the absolutely incredible food and wine. The degustation menu was full of highlights and surprises. Each course provided something different and certainly took us outside our normal comfort zone - but it was worth it! The wines were perfectly matched to each course and it was a real treat to see a single local winemaker celebrated. The staff were superb. They were knowledgeable, passionate and knew just the right time to offer an extra bid of bread to enjoy the last few drops of a delicious jus! Highly recommended to anyone who wants a special night in a special location.

Look its incredibly expensive with the wine pairing but I wouldn't ask for a cent back. Watching the cricket whilst having some of the best fine dining in Adelaide is a very unique selling point. Wine pairing change every 2 months - we had Jim Barry and it went really well with our 5 course degustation.
