I had my 50th birthday breakfast upstairs at the Store. I had 40 ladies attend the private room and apart from the day being perfect, the staff, food, & management were great. Would highly recommend it
The best breakfast we have had in a long time! Kids had pancakes 10/10 I had smashed about with poached eggs salmon bacon yummy! Peter had omelette and it was fantastic!! Don't miss out go there
A busy Sunday morning. Breakfast was amazing. Great menu and particularly friendly and attentive staff. We will return. Maybe try lunch or dinner next time.
Great service, delish food, superior coffee. Would definitely recommend
Meals tantalized the taste buds, desert esquisit, lovely atmosphere & all the staff were wonderful. Definitely a place to visit.
It was a lovely day and all the staff were courteous and friendly. Definitely go to go back.
Our wonderful funny waiter, Sam, turned our quick catch up into a memorable luncheon! Fantastic service with a giggle - want Sam as our waiter next time :)
Amazing amazing service from the young man at front! We had a bad experience elsewhere and came to the store excitedly thinking we would have pancakes! He explained to us it was weekend only menu and we were so disappointed! But he checked if there was pancake mixture ready to go and said that we could have pancakes he went out of his way and was extremely friendly and helpful places like this with wonderful staff like this will keep me going back. Keep up the great work! Ps the pancakes were delicious and the best x
Had dinner there Saturday night. Lovely and cool inside on a hot night. Friendly service and delicious food. Will be back!!
It was a really nice experience. Best omelette I've ever tasted & best pancakes. Just yum!
Amazing fresh food. And a very happy relaxing spot to drink wonderful coffee with friends.
Always a good spot for fresh breakfast.
Recommend to everyone
Service was excellent and staff were friendly. Made for a great sunny afternoon
Great service. We ordered the Store big Breakfast. Great range and quantity of food on the plate. The orange juice tasted freshly squeezed and the coffee was great too. We didn’t wait long for the order to be served and it came with a smile.
Popped in for an early morning coffee while I was waiting for an appointment and The Store was quite busy with solo people having coffee however, it still seemed to have a buzz about it and good atmosphere. Friendly staff and the coffee hit the spot.
Awesome restaurant/ cafe with great food, coffee, very friendly staff in a great location... I would highly recommend this place whether it’s a weekday lunch or a weekend brunch.. Sam & Co doing a great job there :)
Good and service was very lovely! I had poached eggs with roasted tomatoes, a great way to start the day! Prices are good and servings are generous. Will be back again for sure!
I hadn't visited for a long time. I remembered my last visit and it put me off. I was pleasantly surprised with this visit. The staff were welcoming and warm. The food was lovely. I ordered the salt and pepper squid salad had the initial crunch, then your teeth glided through the flesh, just like you had chomped down on butter, texturely. The dressing didn't affect the crunchiness of the squid at all. It had the correct balance of sweet and sour. The greens also were a texture bonanza. I love love crunch and everything was garden picked fresh. My companion had the sliders. I tried the fries. Perfectly cooked. I was assured that the sliders were scrumptious and didn't disappoint. The chefs here know their stuff. They're a credit to the eatery.
I love this place. Through all of its incarnations I have never been disappointed.
I've been with family, large groups, with kids, with friends, with lovers. It never fails to delight.

Have had a bad experience here a while back but came back to have another go, I was pleasantly surprised and found the staff great. Had a quick lunch here with the dogs, sat outside in the dappled shade. The club sandwich was tasty and had all the right ingredients, the only thing was the chicken could have been sliced thinner as a whole fillet made it a tad difficult to really dig in and enjoy. Definitely will consider the Store again when I’m nearby.
Awesome big brekky to start the day. Only faults are bread wasnt toasted enough and bacon could have been abit more cooked but thats all personal preference things so. Every else on point bar the muffin. Dont get the muffin haha. Raspberry choc one. I would come back for the brekky and just ask for my toast n bacon abit.more done thats all coffee was great to.
Dropped in for brekky on our wedding anniversary on a Sunday around 8.30am. Staff welcoming and a seat easily found. Wide range on menu but felt like something not too heavy so ordered banana bread with lemon curd. The waitress sold me on trying it with nutella so took it up. Order came after say 10 minutes and lemon curd + warm crunchy banana bread is yummo! Nutella is a nice addition but not really needed. The flat white coffee after the food was smooth and warm, and in a nice looking cup! Only down wide was the breeze caused by the inside split system. Ok value overall and a nice place.
Great service! The food was delicious to!! The staff are super friendly, made sure we were well accommodates for. Atmosphere is warm & friendly! Will be back!
Nice place to catch up with a group of friends. Good selection for brunch menu. Reasonable coffee.. all in all average place for brunch in North Adelaide
Love the ambience of this place. Wasn't hectic when we came but busy still. I had omelette (ham, cheese, bacon, spinach) with hash brown instead of sourdough toast. And my partner had the big brekkie (poached egg, fried bacon, spinach, mushroom plus chorizo). The omelette texture was too fine, I like the conventional which is bit rough one but the taste was good tho. My partner like his big brekkie, he said everything was perfect, chorizo and bacon cooked perfectly. At the end of our breakfast we had latte and moccha, both coffee were nice. It was pretty big bfast and overall was okay.
The other day we were discussing some new and interesting cafes, restaurants and bars around Adelaide. This place or that, here and there, you know how things go. I was talking about some of the new places in and around the hills, others were discussing some of the new places in the CBD or inner suburbs. All good. Nothing unusual at all, particular given the focus of the blog and social media pages.
Ordered the Portobello mushrooms which was delicious and the coffee was tasty too. Staff had great attention to detail. Just moved into the area and wasn't disappointed for my first breakfast out in Adelaide.
I could not fault this place. Delicious vego borscht, great wine, perfect service, comfortable and spacious, under $100 for 3 of us including 2 alcoholic drinks and 2 desserts.
Lovely location, perfect for people with dogs as you can sit outside. Nice cafe, very clean. Efficient and friendly service. Quality food and fantastic coffee. Freshly squeezed orange juice great too. Looking forward to coming back to try their espresso martinis one night!
Good straight down the line standard breakfast fare, nice coffee, lovely perky service. Had eggs bene on sourdough, hollandaise was lovely, would have loved some green on the plate.
Last Friday night we decided to go and have a quick dinner somewhere nearby and try out Split the Bill in the Advertiser. This truly is great value if you like to dine out a lot. Yes, that's me! Arriving at the store on a cold night, we were greeted by a seemingly passionate and caring waiter and escorted to our table quickly. The restaurant seemed a little on the quiet side, but I always like that, as I find that more care seems to be taken in the kitchen when the pressure is lessened. We shared an entree of the scallops wrapped in pancetta which was served with an Asian style salad. As a fusion dish, this worked really well and was simply delicious. For mains, we had a Mulloway fish special and sirloin steak. Both of these were impeccably cooked and were delicious. Although the menu items are not overly creative, they are executed well and I would be happy to go back to just have a casual simple well cooked meal. As I recall, only 3 desserts were on offer, which is fine, but 2 of them were chocolate desserts and I would have love to have seen a better balanced dessert menu with something citrus included.
My fondest memory of The Store was when my sister worked there years ago and fell in a heap when Hugh Jackman walked in and ordered breakfast! He waited in the line just like everyone else!! And so he would, seems like the nicest guy ever!
Good work guys, it was great to come back and be treated so well!
Was very very impressed with the breakfast here! I had the muesli which was very filling and satisfying, great value for money. A great spot for coffee and breakfast and they also have some great healthy dishes!
Enjoyed meal & service. Dinner with family, all enjoyed. No complaints.
Great food, great atmosphere!. I had a big breakfast at The Store. The food was fresh and delicious. Overall great experience, will definitely be back.
Great for brunch. Great food and service. Fantastic coffee!
Good food. Red haired chick taking the food orders: get some customer service! "What do you want?" Isn't the way to ask a customer what they would like to order. Coffee needs a lot of work!
4 of us dined at The Store tonight, admittedly it was a quiet night but we could not fault the service or food. In fact, we all rated the food and dessert 9/10 and higher! The items we had were: special quail, special pasta amatriciana, garlic prawn salad, bruschetta and then panna cotta and mousse.
We will be back, don't let the review stop you, we were very pleasantly suprised!
Liked the decor and atmosphere of this place. The food was heaps good too. Will definitely go back again.
Coffee very good, staff friendly and fast service. I wanted a sandwich for lunch and they only had a few pre made rolls, but it was tasty.
Best coffee (cappuccino) I have had in Adelaide.
Alright service but awesome food!
Lunch.. great except for that arancini!!. At lunch at the store..service great.. coffee good and quick..arancini terrible I mean terrible... try boiled crumbed rice...panini great, tasting plate fine..except for that arancini!!! Great decor, lovely wines, seem to be doing very well..
Fantastic Meal. Today we had brunch at The Store. It was very busy. The services was outstanding. We were greeted at the door and seated in a booth. I ordered a Soy Hot Chocolate - by far the best in Adelaide - people should learn from this place when it comes to Soy Hot Chocolate - they didn't skimp on the soy and the choclate was actually dissolved. My son had a lemonade, it was delivered immediately. I ordered the The Store breakfast which had all the trimmings. My poached eggs were perfect. The mushrooms and spinach had an amazing taste. Soar dough toast and bacon as well. A great eating experience. My son, ordered the pancake stack and he ate all three pancakes. The service was friendly, the staff went out of their way to serve us. They were quick. We sat in the booth talking for a couple of hours, and we weren't pushed away. After a couple of hours we ordered a chocolate mousse to share. Devine....... I was in heaven. My far a great eating experience. The Store has changed alot, the staff are friendly, the food is spectacular, they are children friendly - its noisy but not overwhelming. A great experience. We will definately be back. I recommend you make a booking if going for breakfast, its very popular.
Beautiful Breakfast. Service was very slow, but the store was very busy. The coffee came at the same time as breakfast. I had the betroot ricotta, poached eggs on spinach and toast. It was delicious, the eggs were perfectly cooked. I will be back.
Nice... but pricey!. Yummy food but a little pricey for what you get on the plate. Also, service was a little slow - i ordered another piece of toast (as they got all the toasts wrong on our orders) and it took them 15 to bring another one out.

Very Accommodating. I'm on a very particular diet at the moment and The Store was very accommodating. I managed to order Fish & Chips without the chips and with extra salad for no additional cost. I was very impressed with their hospitality and delicious food.
Excellent. Sunday night dinner
Great food, excellent service and very tasty.
The dinner staff supplied us swift seating, prompt and attentive service and the food came to the table in good time frame.
The steak was cooked perfectly, and the flavours for the roast chicken breast and steak sandwich were great.
No coMplaints - would recommend for a flavours one dinner in a pleasant environment.
Suitable for families.
Great for breakfast even tho the serves are down on what they use to be. Not a fan of the dinner menu. The service has been better the last few times that I've been. Good for something easy I guess.
Ordering takes a while. I like the food and coffee. I just takes a lot of time before you can have either because there are too few staff available to take our order.
Best Restaurant. Perfect bistro setting for fine food and a romantic evening or even a meet up with friends. We dine out frequently and this time we went for my boyfriends birthday. It really was the best restaurant experience we have had this month! The Store has a wonderful atmosphere and the wine list was also very extensive. Excellent food and service too!
Nice classy place to have a coffee and get some work done, the booths are very comfortable, for a meal or even a meeting.
Breakfast at The Store is amazing.
Went here for breakfast recently and would say the food is better than the service generally was. Had the eggs Benedict and they were really quite nice, and the serving size was perfect for a good hearty breakfast. Wasn't blown away by the coffee, and really disliked those glass sugar jars which never work and result in getting sugar all over the table! Considering the money that would of been spent on the interior design, previous meals here sitting outside have left me feeling more satisfied.
Perfect for our rainy Sunday date!. Rainy Sunday afternoon date spot with my husband, this is a great place for a variety of reasons. They have a great selection of foods that are well worth the price for a special meal. This part of town is also a great place to walk around on a Sunday afternoon. They have areas where you can sit and have some small plates and wine. Perfect for our rainy Sunday date.
Awesome breakfast!. Fluffiest pancakes I've ever had! Coffee wasn't bad, either.
Extraordinary. The Store is that extraordinary restaurant that awakens me out of hibernation in this awful weather and work where I can no longer detain the bellow from my deep-seated belly.
First of all, I have to attest the service is excellent and the intimate environment in which you can interact with the Owners and the Chef adds a completely new element.
Flavours are soft, delicate, fresh and I love the idea that all the food served is seasonal, so I get the best Adelaide has to offer, and is sourced from within 100km’s of the CBD. The very thought of the Sweet-Corn pikelet and Tasmanian smoked salmon with horseradish elicits mixed emotions of serenity and excitement from the corners of my mouth.
And yes that is a smile you just saw, just happy to share this beautiful experience with you.
Definitely a gem on Melbourne street.. Initially when you're looking through the menu, you're thinking to yourself… Good god $17 for poached eggs?! But in all seriousness, I think The Store cafe delivers excellent food compared to many of the dining options in the area. Just to give an example, I thought my lunch experience was far better than at The Lion across the street, where I am a regular.
The potato, rosemary and parmesan quiche is AMAZING! One of the best quiche’s I have had in my life.
Also the potato gnocchi was cooked perfectly.
Perfect. I'm personally not a fan of Melbourne Street, but this restaurant would make me walk there if it was the only way I could have breakfast there again. Anyways, J and I are very picky about our food and therefore where we eat out.
Everything from the decor and service to the food and drinks (private booth’s, seasonal soup, coffee, tea, all day breakfast and dessert) were well thought out and a unique experience.
Conclusion: The Store is a necessary try if you are in the area. If possible, sit outside (weather permitting) on a weekend for Breakfast (it’s served all day), so you get the full North Adelaide experience.
Although it was busy, we didn’t have to wait too long and the food and service was perfect!
Great service on a Saturday night with no booking at 7pm. Knowledgeable, helpful waiter. Chicken parfait special was stunning, no problem and no charge getting extra toast crisps to finish it off with roasted quince. Really delicious. Salmon with herbs & walnuts was great, chicken with chorizo and beans was a bit nothing. Salads were great and interesting, a main component, not just a side or afterthought. Very refreshing. Was nervous going after reading bad reviews but that dinner has dispelled any hesitation. Way better than the old store although more upmarket now. Will be back to try breakfast soon.
Great Lunch!. My family and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch on Anzac day at the Store and although it was very busy, we were still looked after. The food arrived on time and everything was hot and as expected.
It's unfortunate that some others have had a bad experience, ours was fantastic.
We had booth that was wonderful and fit all 5, just.
With all day breakfast and lunch we had plenty to choose from, I just had the Soup and toasted bread.
Perfect on a cold day.
I will be back again soon and would recommend for other to try, their selective dinner menu looks good, and however that is only 3 days a week.
Great!!. Had dinner at the store and all I can say is that it was a positive dining experience. The food was very delicious and fresh. the Char-grilled salmon dish was spectacular. The other food that came to the table was also great. The service was very prompt and attentive. Highly recommended!
VERY GOOD - Great staff. A couple of friends and I went to The Store for breakfast on a Sunday but it was completely packed, not one seat left over! The waitress even tried to squeeze us a table somewhere. We ended up going else where and on our walk back past The Store the same waitress (who turns out to be the owner) gave us a table and free champagne for not having a table for us earlier.
Have been many many times since... breakfast, lunch and dinner! Always fantastic and the staff are always super energetic and friendly!
Will continue to go for as long as they will have us!
Really great experience!. The Store was really quite pleasant and I really enjoyed the food and the prompt service. I read some of the other reviews and didnt find it to be that way. We had a great experience and the new menu was really great. They promote fresh ingridents all sorced within 100km's of Adelaide. There wine list was extensive and they have some great specials and i've heard there breakfast is really good too however I havent actually had a chance to try there breakfast.
Awesome breakfast place with a great ambience! Eggs are great! Staff is always friendly and happy to help! Only downfall is the coffee...must change ASAP!
The Store has a temperament of an European woman. Once she is lovely, sweet, and caring and other times she just ignores you. We frequent the Store quite a lot and the service, food and ambience vary from really nice to not welcoming at all. It's worth stopping by, but please consider you may fall in love or hate it forever.
Change is good if its better!. This change had been for the better!
Better food
Better vibe
Better service
Just better...GO
Reinvented. When I arrived to Adelaide over 4 years ago, The Store was the first place I had breakfast at. I found it had charm, good food and great service.
Over the next 2 years all of this had decimated (especially the staff was horrifically, snobbish and arrogant) We just drove past to the Store to Wild Thyme or ETC or even better Jones the Grocer. I only went there for the shop.
One day I noticed it had closed and I wasn't surprised.
Its reopening was an even bigger surprise. Refurbished, refreshed and renewed. Still I had my doubts. Until a client suggested lunch there.
It was really quite pleasant. Upon entering, I recognised a few familiar faces, as some of the Pranzo team had moved here. They welcomed us with the usual confidence and flair and served us promptly, understanding that we were on a time limit.
I find that a good way in testing dishes is to order the simplest dish, like Caesar or the burger. The cheese burger it was. It was near perfect, size, taste and excellent chips accompanied by freshly made aioli. Great coffee to finish off with. All sorted.
It is a pity I don't have more clients on this side of town, but it is certainly a good motivation to start finding them!
Delightful lunch. My friend and I went to the Store for a midweek lunch and were very happy with both the service and the food. It was not very busy and i do get the feeling that there are many tables for the number of staff. I had a risotto and it was delicious. Got the feeling that they were trying hard with the service. The prices are more than they once were but not too dear especially if you have an entertainment voucher!
Tasty food. Great busy feel. Service is good. Not awesome. Worth a visit for sure.

On a recent visit to Adelaide I was lucky enough to eat here twice. Both times were absolutely perfect; food, service, atmosphere. Everything about this was delightful. Can't wait to go back.
No Fuss. Just a good Meal. Tried both a Breakfast and Dinner while staying in North Adelaide, Both were great. Meals were impressive, we both had the "specials of the night". Service good, Wine great.
Much improved! Had a wonderful night with wonderful friendly and prompt service- much better since the revamp
Excellent French-influenced bistro food. I live right around the corner to this place and love the new style. The old cafe had got tired and was going through the motions. The site deserved something better. I have now eaten at the Store about a dozen times since it reopened and the food and service has been excellent. For breakfast there is the standard fare (e.g. Eggs Benedict), well executed and generously portioned, as well as some more adventurous options (like avocado on sourdough toast with chilli and mint). The lunch and dinner menu offers bistro standards with some modern flourishes and interesting specials. My favourite to date is the goat's cheese salad entree; a classic French dish and so delicious. The sides are also well done: the spinach with raisins is great, as is their version of Thomas Keller's creamed corn. The tiramisu is sumptuous (as it should be!). The wine list is interesting and has plenty of choices by the glass, which suits this bachelor. Decor is understated but welcoming with a collection of quirky artwork and classic photographic prints. I eat out a lot and it is good to have a venue in North Adelaide which aspires to something more than the usual mediocre cafe culture which afflicts Adelaide.
Had a good steak with a good glass of wine. Good, but not great. Better vibe than some other North Adelaide eateries.
Super place to feel luxe about food. I love going to this store whenever i am in ADL. It truly hides some naughty little food secrets that everyone should indulge in. a gem of a place to steal away those 1000 calorie cupcakes you don't want anyone to see you stuffing into your mouth. you can also pick up that bottle of wine you have been craving. just about all the yummy things you want are inside. so go ahead, indulge a little.
Great breakfast! The corn and zucchini fritters are delish and the huge serving will have you satisfied all day.
Good but not great. Delicious food but it would have been helpful to have more signage/information available or a host to direct us so we knew if was table or counter service.
Great breakfasts! Have to try a dinner...
Great breakfasts! There's a reason it's the busiest cafe in north adelaide. Very wholesome and flavoursome, but booking early is a good idea.
Housed in a beautiful heritage building, The Store is famed for it's brunches. Being close to the parklands means that The Store is well patronised by plenty of joggers, cyclists and dog walkers, and there is usually a short wait for the outdoor tables. Staff are well versed in this however and are friendly & helpful, escorting us to a table after only a few minutes wait. Four legged dining companions welcome. Photo: Willunga Wino The breakfast menu spans both sweet and savoury. There is also a lunch and dinner menu if you arrive later in the day. As a bonus, if you check in on Yelp, you get a free coffee. While the meals are delivered to your table, you need to order and pay at the counter inside. Even though it was a busy Sunday morning, the queue moved quickly and service was friendly. There is an even split between egg dishes for breakfast, and cereals or pastries on the breakky menu. You could make up a plate of sides, as I did (I'm not much of an egg person) with house made bake

Sunday morning and not sure where to go for breakfast, try this Cafe on Melbourne Street. You can't miss it. It's located on the corner opposite the Lion Hotel, there are always people sitting outside. I think it must have been a while since I've last been there. Since last time, there have been some renovations. It seemed bigger.
The Store has always been one of my go-to places on Melbourne Street for their lunches but after having breakfast over the weekend, I don’t think I’ll be running back anytime soon – keep reading, you’ll find out why.
