Stopped in for dinner on a Friday night after splurging in their bottle shop. Great service. We ordered a variety of things off the menu and they were all excellent. As expected they are great with their wine suggestions.
Shout out to Tim who gave my partner and I excellent service. We were after a bottle of the Cotes Du Jura, VARRON 2013 Chardonnay and Tim offered his knowledge on the wine in this region. We bought a bottle and had it that night with our beautiful dinner at a local Adelaide restaurant. I was extremely happy to hear that East End Cellars ship to Melbourne, will be putting in an order very soon.
Great wine shop and adjoining bar for a drink and a platter or snack. Huge range of wines by the bottle which can be drunk on site for $15 corkage. Wines by the glass start around $10 and are high quality and usually a little different, including European. Free weekly tastings on Friday and Saturday afternoons with a visiting winemaker.
On the expensive sides but really nice atmosphere. We went with a group of friends and had shared wines and platters.
Don't come if you are seeking a satisfying meal but good for sharing drinks in good company. The place is well decorated.

In Adelaide’s East End, The Tasting Room is the brainchild of wine retailer East End Cellars, which has moved across the road from its long-time home in Vardon Avenue to accommodate a bigger retail outlet, and in the process tasting area. Bottle-o meets bar – bloody genius!
I could easily picture myself coming here after work (if I still lived in Adelaide, not commuting from Melbourne, that would be quite the trek) for a quick catch up with my fellow wine-loving friends. Then obligingly picking up a few favourites to take home, before the venue shuts at 10pm – so no late-night dancing on the tables here ladies! With exposed brick and wine box-derived wallpaper, it’s a very warm, inviting space.
Great wine cellar as well as an impressive menu. Even the oil in the olive bowl is to die for!! Great service, friendly and knowledgable staff.
I've been eyeing this place for a little while and finally got the chance to visit it last Sunday, before the opening race of the Tour Down Under. I was thoroughly pleased with all aspects - the setting, service, and the nibbles and seemingly endless selection of drinks that they provide.
We savoured a medium platter which went beautifully with our drinks.
What a gorgeous spot for a relaxing drink and bite. Absolutely cannot wait to be back!
Who doesn't love a champagne on special?! Staff are awesome and always let me customise my cheese board! Feels like I'm at home but better.
The splendid way to spend a Sunday afternoon, a small platter with a mix of fantastic fresh food, glass of wine or cider. Would highly recommend!
One of our favourite East End hang out spot when we’re just out and about is at the Tasting Room at East End Cellars on Vardon Ave. A really chill spot to just hang and chat over a glass of wine and if the stomach calls for it–which it usually does, a ploughmans platter or a toastie to go with the vino. 😉
Wine tasting has never been so good. East End Cellars takes their wines seriously. Very seriously. They have an excellent reputation built over many years of trading. A combination of not only knowing what wines to stock but also following new trends and discovering the wines customers are either looking for or need to try. Their passion is for the wines of small wine producers who demonstrate a willingness or flair to be different. Those wineries whose aim is to produce great wines of individual character and whose primary focus is solely on quality NOT quantity.
Add all that with some well sourced foods like cured meats and good cheeses and you have a unique venture in a pleasant surroundings - as in being surrounded by about 10,000 bottles of wine.
Wonderful selection of wines with knowledgable staff on hand. Great ambience. Tasting plate is not generous at all compared to other places that have them- really poor value. What is on them is really good but was disappointed in the minuscule samples.
Brilliant ambiance and concept, great place to spend an afternoon... Come prepared to try some seriously good wines!
Great idea!. Fantastic selection of wines for sale and $15 for corkage quite reasonable. Ploughmans platter was ver tasty. Great for after work drinks. Will be back!
Simple and nice food, nice strong coffee!
Gorgeous venue and a great idea. You can sit and enjoy a glass of wine with a charcuterie and cheese, then walk across the floor and select bottles from an excellent selection of local and imported wines. The coffee's very good as well.
It seems as if the folks at East End Cellar have moved across the road to their new premises (still on Vardon Avenue which connects to Ebenezer Place), boasting a larger area with seating available for wine drinkers and antipasto platter peckers. We were walking along Rundle Street looking for a quick snack to bite just before a full blown dinner feast at home when I spotted the front facade of East End Cellar through the alleyway between Street ADL and Cocolat. We made a sharp turn and headed straight in. Their new digs definitely felt a lot more open and inviting (and noticeable) and instantly got our interests. Front facade Wine for purchase to take home, or to sit and drink. Small ploughmans platter; $20.00 Whilst the stranger opted for a glass of red during our lazy late Sunday arvo, I happily grazed on the small antipasto platter with an assortment of cheese, meats, beetroot chutney, mini pickles, pickled onions, fresh pear slices and bread and water crackers. Simple lazy eats, y
Outstanding venue with extensive wine selection, excellent staff and fabulous food. A very safe ‘go to’ with friends and visitors to the city. Major events are very well organised with food and wine matched to perfection. The kingfish dish on the daily menu is sublime. All the bottles in the cellar area are available to purchase and drink with your meal and the ‘by the glass’ selection changes regularly. A great place to experience and learn about different regions and wines of the world. Highly recommend!
I went to the "EAST END CELLARS" with my wife and my sons and their girlfriends. The staff were an absolute wonder with their politeness and eagerness in which to assist you to enjoy their facilities to the full extent. The catering was just so well done and presented and so yummy.
The bar staff were well experienced in the knowledge of their wines etc.
SO KUDOS TO ALL THE STAFF AND MANAGEMENT FOR SUCH A WELL BALANCED ENVIRONMENT OF A UP MARKET BAR AND RESTAURANT.
Absolutely love dining here when in Adelaide. Of course, their wine selection is incredible with price & diversity for all budgets. But their food.. wow. Incredibly high quality and flavour to die for. The pastas are always my to go to and love that they always change + have a delicious vegetarian option. I had the herb gnocchi most recent and it was the best pasta I've had! Also a cool vibe dining here and great people watching during the day to pass the afternoon by with a wine! Highly recommended
This place is popular for a reason: an awesome range of drinks over the counter or from the accompanying shop, friendly service and great food. We’d been bar hopping beforehand and ended up here at the end of the afternoon, walking out with a $500 bottle of whisky for a nightcap before bed…
Such a cool place. Went on a Friday night to pick up some wine from the bottle shop section and was greeted by a very passionate wine enthusiast who recommended an excellent drop. Went again for a quick drink on Sunday night before going out for dinner. Highly recommend.
By far the BEST truffle pasta I've had in my life, absolutely extraordinary! Great vibes and a beautiful interior. Definitely the place to enjoy with friends.
This is a brilliant venue, It has a good wine selection, excellent staff and decent food. Its a great place to go with friends or as a couple, you can also purchase a bottle of wine from their cellar and have it in the restaurant (of course they charge corkage for it). This place has a great vibe, overall it is worth a visit.
