Very strong coffee, very delish. My dad said it was on time so I guess that’s good. So delightful. Vegan chocolate is also great of course. What a great time to be alive
Had their cinnamon hot chocolate and I love it! The cinnamon was punchy and gave a great kick to the rich chocolate drink. It's a really nice little cafe with lots of chocolate products you can buy too.
Friendly and efficient service, as soon as I took a seat a staff provided me with a jug of water. I ordered and paid ahead before sitting, and was promptly informed that if I am dining in they provide table service. The cappuccino came with a generous amount of chocolate sprinkles. Indoor and outdoor seatings are available.
Very good Hot Chocolate in Rundle Mall! Tried Chocolate Affogato and the vanilla bean ice cream was perfectly matched with the hot chocolate! It was in reasonable price with was $7 but super good taste!
The dark chocolate raspberry puff was fair and tasted little bit sour. Must try the chocolate affogato!
Great resting point after visiting Adelaide Arcade and half Rundle Street. For the puff which is new product is not too sweet and sour, rich raspberry sense but not rich in choco, it ll be much better if the puff is more crispy. But all presentation, including beverages and food are really great. For the Affogato, there are 2 options: choco and coffee, we have ordered the choco one, after pouring choco into the vanilla ice-cream, resulting a creamy and rich texture, and it's not a large portion, which is quite good. For the signature choco drinks, there are several flavours you can choose, coz it's my first time , i chose the original Belgian hot chocolate, it's a lovely presentation. It is really good that to have a chat with fds after shopping, and it would be quite full to drink all of them even though it's not too sweet at all. Chilli, Cinnamon and Orange will be a great choice for special try for you:) The ambience is quite good, but if you are carrying too many bags, just be careful for yr belonging coz the area is not large at all but cozy enough:) I raised the score because of the Dark Chaos Reveal, it was gorgeous, warm chocolate sauce melt the shelter of the cake which is having an scoop of ice cream, citrus centre and pistachios sponge cake bottom, then formed the chocolate cover again because of the coldness of ice cream with chocolate sauce. I couldn't stop my spoon! Excellent dessert i have ever had 💜
A little pricey and not many tables, you have to be prepared to wait in a line. However the quality of everything is 100% worth the wait. A great location in the mall.
I love this place so much. We always go here every Friday to get their Hot Chocolate while we go shopping. Trust me it's one of the best ideas ever. One thing that I really like here is the customer service. We went here last Wednesday and we tried to order their signature dessert platter and it was so good! The guy who served us had slowly and precisely told us the ingredients!names of each dessert and that was really awesome. I love their customer service too! It looks like they love their job and of course there chocolate and desserts are to die for 😍🍫
A cold winters Sunday saw the wife and I looking for a warm hot chocolate so tried Koko. A refined and carefully curated decor, showcasing visually elegant chocolates and deserts. We took a seat near the window and the waitress cleaned the table and showed us the menus. So much to choose from but I ordered a hazelnut hot chocolate. The drinks came in reasonable time, with the waitress apologising once for the slight delay. The wife commented on the thin cups that helped maintain the drinks warmth. The hot chocolate was true to being 'hot' (a safe heat!) and topped with a lovely pattern. A rich flavour to the drink itself. At about $7, possibly a tad high in terms of value foe money but that's all I'd say. Hope to come back to sample the desserts which we checked out.
This is a wonderful little chocolate shop and dessert cafe on the Rundle Mall end of Adelaide Arcade. Beautifully presented chocolates fill the display cabinets at the front of the shop and then there is the cafe area with a lounge area upstairs. The menu is sumptuous offering many chocolate based and gourmet sandwich options. The service was exquisite - probably the best I have had anywhere for a long time. The staff in both the shop and the cafe were proactive, offering choices from the menu and explaining the options in the chocolates in the shop.
Summary: a boutique chocolate shop that adds to the Rundle Mall experience. Service top class. Food is delicious and beautifully presented. A wonderful bowl of vanilla icecream served with caramel and chipped toffee was an indulgence and great value. Worth a try? Oh yes, even if you are not a chocolate lover you will find something on the menu to enjoy while your indulgent dining partner revels in chocolate.
A place that sells refined chocolate products and sells coffee, must be a winner. In some way, Koko is much more refined than other chocolate shops. Enjoyed browsing, buying and eating. Definitely good to go and stay.

Beautiful chocolate salon, so amazing being greeted by stunning chocolate works of art, delicious aroma of pastry and coffee in the air. Chocolate salon host was extremely educated on everything cacao, she only works weekends.
Upstairs private and the right amount of attention to enjoy your company/friends.
Orders are met with exacting attention, and staff follow up to cope with misunderstandings early.
Visited regularly, however moved to Perth in May 2016 and discovered zamoto to review. Sadly Perth Kokoblack is a very pale comparison.
I be been there so many times with my friends. Really like its chocolates with various favors. High coco intensity dark chocolates and cakes are nice and coffee is nice. Just so perfect
Usually trading during the day only, they are open late on Fridays. Koko Black make some of the best chocolate around and is a firm favourite of mine. I love just gazing at all the chocolates on display wishing I could buy every single one. Alas tonight we were here for the desserts. The Co-Pilot and I haven’t had dessert here since the first night they opened so we were keen to get our chocolate fix.
Rich...decadent...dreamy...just a few adjectives to describe the deliciousness that is Koko Black. If you're yet to indulge here, make it a priority. I first discovered the brand in Perth, and was delighted when they opened a store in Adelaide. Conveniently situated in the heart of town, they offer many gorgeous treats to sample, along with a classy dessert menu. Chocolate Mousse and Salted Caramel Delice are divine.
Ordered hot chocolate and Belgian Spoil tasting plate.
Hot chocolate was good, not too sweet, just the way I like it.
Belgian Spoil consisted of chocolate mousse, two chocolate pralines from their chocolate range (strawberry and raspberry), chocolate gateau, chocolate cherry royale, and chocolate icecream.
The highlight from the tasting plate would have been the chocolate icecream for me. The gateau, mousse and pralines were also nice, but a tad on the sweet side, especially when compared to the hot chocolate drink and icecream. Lowlight was the cherry royale - reminded me of the Arnott's royale biscuits, except that Arnott's biscuit is way better executed in terms of texture and taste.
The tasting plate was shared between two people, but probably was a bit too much in terms of richness and hence it wasn't quite finished. Ended up walking out feeling like a naughty kid who stuffed him/herself with too much candy. Definitely got my chocolate fix, but will probably stick with lighter desserts in the future!
Koko black is always a good idea :) had a hugeeeeee chocolate crave (and we all know how that feels) and decided to head to koko black for a quick fix. We had the Belgian spoil, and ice cream! Which was amazing 🙃
their chocolate is to die for, this place is amazing with their chocolate drink, chocolate dessert, and the chocolate itself.
the choco drink is not as sweet as any other, i can still taste the bitterness that taste really good and super fine in your mouth. the chocolate itself, i think i don't need to explain in to u because its so good. the dessert too omg!! i think i did order chai latte here, and i like it
good thing is they always mention which one is suitable for vegan/gluten free, etc. so it'll help.
A best place to hang out and escape from a busy day with a great chocolate and coffee! Friendly waiters and really good environment! Always going back for something sweet😘🍫🍫☕️
Great coffee. Awesome chocolate. These guys are not messing around. This is the real deal. One of my favourite midweek indulgences when I need a quick pick me up from the pressures of life is a visit to Koko Black. A short black coffee no sugar and one (super indulgent) scotch whisky chocolate is more than enough to put some wind in the sails and get the week back on track. That one bite of chocolate and sip of coffee can do wonders for your sanity.
I am not a chocolate person, I have never really loved anything chocolate, but I love their soy hot chocolate! I think this have proved me how much I can love hot chocolate I have been wanting to go back to this place for a cup of hot chocolate, especially in a cold winter afternoon.
Great atmosphere, I would recommend sitting upstairs. They have a great range of truffles, I've tried quite a few and really liked the Aurelia, Dulce De Leche and the cashew brittle chocolate bark. I would highly recommend getting the Salted caramel Deliche which was simply divine. It had a wonderful soft velvet chocolate texture with a delicious salty caramel centre.
Chocs!. I spend way too much money here!!
It's taken me a while to go into Koko Black, only because I'm a pretty big fan of Haigh's. I was given a selection of chocolates as a gift and I wasn't properly convinced! But, I had coffee there the other day and it was really nice coffee and service was efficient and friendly. The balcony floor is a really nice, intimate area away from the hustle and bustle of the mall.
Delicious. The chocolate drinks were delicious - we had coconut iced chocolate and dark hot chocolate. Definitely rich in taste. In fact, too rich - would recommend Koko Black to anyone who loves chocolate (and those who aren't afraid of calories loading)!
Good.. It's good.
But Haighs is better, and cheaper
It's no Kenji, that's for sure.
Amazing Value. My friend and I had the degustation desserts, and for $24 for 5 regular sized desserts it was amazing value. It was chocolate icecream, choc mouse, opera cake, another brownie type cake and a raspberry choc one. It was delicious, but with a hot chocolate to go with it, it was just too much chocolate. This platter could easily serve four. I eat all my food, and we could not finish this. We also had the caramel delice. The cake was nice, but the sauce tasted very burnt to me. The service was excellent. They actually asked about the food and I mentioned the sauce. One of the senior staff spoke to us, and said it was burnt caramel sauce, (the menu did not mention that), but it was almost inedible. As a goodwill gesture, she gave all four of us, 3 chocolates each!!!!!!!! That is over $25 in value, much more than the two caramel delices costed. We were really surprised with this generosity, and this is why we will continue to come back. The hot chocolate was rich and beautiful, it hit the spot on Adelaides 12 degree May day. I suggest if going with a group, order the vanilla icecream as well, it is needed to cut the richness of the chocolate....
I love love love this place!! AMAZING hot chocolate, it was so rich & smooth & decadent, tasted as if they'd just melted pure chocolate into my cup!! YUM!
Diana. Hand crafted chocolates with smooth coffee what more could one wish for? These chocolates are sublime, the dark pistachio & amarena cherry being some particular favourites of mine but the choice is endless
Finally in Adelaide Rundle Mall. What a win! love the chilli chocolate on a hot or cold day!

...The chocolate alchemy cake is the salon's signature dessert. It is a chocolate cake, layered with Madagascan chocolate creme and topped with chocolate bar. According to experts' opinion, Madagascar cocoa is the finest of all due to its genetic variety and the island's rich soil. The chocolate cake has a light texture, coupled with the soft creme, it makes a delightful dessert
I first got acquainted with Koko Black in Canberra many years ago when I had to make a trip up there to the Malaysian Embassy. It was a good chance to explore Canberra, before I left people told me just drive around in circles. It turned out to be a good holiday, one where I remember rushing through the floors of Questacon just before our flight back to Adelaide, but I digress. I remember the experience at Koko Black being incredibly good so I am glad it has finally found its way to Adelaide. See, we are booming. I'm just waiting for PappaRich now. Recently I received an invitation to sample some of Koko Black's new Summer Oasis Dessert range. Some lovely additions to the already delectable menu. We went on a Friday night around dinner time hoping we could have a little quiet before the late night city shoppers flock in for dessert. I chose to dine upstairs so I could look over the delicious chocolates and out onto Rundle Mall, it was a lovely evening. As we were seated, service was professional and exceptional. I asked what the new menu items were and picked three out of them. The waiter then turned to Mr. Foodie and asked "and what would you like?" I had to laugh. We love sampling but not wasting, I think two desserts and a rich drink is quite enough for both of us. Mango and Vanilla Ice Cream Spectacular $9.50 The Mango and Vanilla Ice Cream Spectacular was fantastic. Very tropical and rather refreshing. The Madagascan vanilla bean ice cream was rich, smooth and creamy with beautiful vanilla flavour. The caramelised coconut crumble beneath had a wonderful crunch, I loved the use of coconut, it added flavour, fragrance and played on the tropical theme. For me, the real star was the generous amount of mango coulis poured over the top. Our waiter kindly poured half to start with and left the jug with us. I had a taste, ate some straight from the jug and poured the rest in. Fresh proper mango. Not just artificial syrup. To finish this delight, it's topped with a w
Koko Black’s exclusive new Oasis Summer Dessert range is finally here, and as a result, they have kindly invited us to visit their Adelaide salon to sample their creations. We visited during the late arvo over the weekend and surprisingly the in house cafe wasn’t as busy as it was on my first visit – almost a year ago. We opted to grab a seat upstairs away from the shoppers on the ground level and have some down time whilst we had a look through the menu and people watched from up above.
Such an amazing destination for coffee, chocolates and more! The taste was delicious! Situated in the Adelaide Arcade, with outdoor and indoor sitting available as well as upstairs, where you can enjoy the view. I couldn’t even tell I was in the busy environment cause it felt so calm. Such an amazing customer service, although we waited a while to be served, we really enjoyed. I will visit again and again. The price were reasonable. I bought a takeaway for home too. Thank you again for the amazing customer service!
I'd never stopped in Koko black before. Tried their classic Belgian hot chocolate today and it was divine! Might have even tried a few chocolates too 😉 Do it!!
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. When a slight mix up was discovered, their response was outstanding and offered extra chocolates!! Very impressed with Rebecca who served us!
Great little cozy hideout in the middle of the mall. Spicy hot chocolate is a must! Some of the drink prices are quite high but quality is top.
Lots of tables available in the beautiful setting of the Adelaide Arcade. The service is friendly and the coffee was good. I didn't buy any chocolate but it looked great and was set out very nicely. The decor and look of the shop is lovely.
This place is special. The location is in the heart of the CBD, the corner of the Adelaide arcade. The decor, the atmosphere and the items are nicely crafted. Lovely coffees and of course, chocolates. The chocolates are divine and to die for. The price is higher than other places but it is worth it. If you love chocolate and coffee, here you go!
Just a tiny point that they should take care of the chairs and single couches that look torn and dated.
We love gifting Koko Black to friends, clients and family. Our kids love coming in to pick their own favourites to have at home over the weekend. And their small packaged selections of coated nuts, nougat, and milk chocolate dots are perfect for scattering into chacuterie boards.
