Review Treasury 1860 - Adelaide

Jenni “Pence” Schilling
Nathan is an exceptional business man with passion, dedication and true love for the Treasury 1860. From the artwork, to breakfast, to dinner, to cocktails, the courtyard , your experience here will always be memorable and positive. Thank you for your great conversations and kindness. Highly recommended. We had won a competition to stay at the Adina Apartment Hotel in January 2022.

Terrific service, great breakfast and pub meals. I stayed recently in the Adina, and I loved the meals and service at this place. In particular I appreciated how the waitress came well out of the restaurant to offer us coffees as we waited in the courtyard for our companions, who were late. The food was also terrific. Better coffee and smashed avo than I get in Melbourne

An excellent location and building for what could be one of Adelaide's best restaurants. The decor and wine list is certainly up to scratch, however the service and food is in need of some attention. Serving a steak on a bed of lentils (my estimate is at least a tin - 250g of green lentils), is a little too much. We had a single waiter who is deserving of a full five stars who knew the wine list like the back of his hand. Perhaps he should take control of the venue? Other service staff need a lesson i.e a kick in the pants to wake up. Customer service with next to zero communication, wasn't for a welcoming experience. IMO if you're reading this thinking of dinner in Adelaide go elsewhere. Wait until they sort themselves out, I'm sure better times will come for this place.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the food was great! I was a naughty Vegetarian and had Oysters. Definitely worth it! First time in 20 years! The staff are very friendly, the room looked just gorgeous! A nice place for an intimate Candlelit Dinner.

Always top notch service and food from the team at the Treasury 1860, beautiful venue inside and out. I've held several large business functions in the Courtyard which were run seamlessly, and I return over again for small gatherings, lunches or just drinks on a Friday night. Definitely one of my fave venues in Adelaide.

I've been a few times now, sampling the food, wine, entertainment and ambiance. This beautiful building shines under the current management and has become a hub for great experiences. I've seen two incredible Fringe shows, had some amazing meals made with local produce and consumed some superior locally produced wines. A wonderful venue that needs to be at the top of the list when visiting the heart of Adelaide's CBD.

We just had our wedding ceremony in the beautiful courtyard of the Treasury 1860. From the get go both Anna and Nathan made it an obvious choice to have our special day at their venue. There easy to talk personalities along with their years of experience made the day run without a glitch. Despite the weather being rather hot they had plans in place to ensure our guests were comfortable. There is nothing to big or small this duo can’t handle. Anna’s flexibility, patience, creative flare and ability to be amazing at anything she puts her mind to made our day perfect!!! We cannot thank you enough Anna and Nathan for all you have done for Michael and I. ****If you are looking are looking for a impressive location to have your next function and also want to have a good meal and experience great service you 100% cannot go past the Treasury 1860. ****

It was our first visit tonight, we went to My Bard, a Fringe show in the bar. Can recommend the show and what a lovely bar. We really only intended to drink, having eaten before coming out, but sheer greed saw us sampling their take on mac n' cheese. Yummmmmmmm!! We will be back to try the restaurant and hopefully another show or two. Small venues like this have such a great atmosphere - I hope the venture into putting on shows is a winner for the Treasury, it's certainly a winner for theatre goers.

My fiance and I had our engagement party out the back in the courtyard! It was beautiful and quiet despite being in the middle of the city. The staff were amazing and the food was delicious!! They went above and beyond to make our day stress free and special. Cannot recommend this venue more!!

The breakfast menu at Treasury is the most appetising I've come across at a hotel. Set in a classy building, it's a wonderful option for a meal in the heart of town. I chose to sit in the tranquil garden on a warm Summer day. My Turkish Eggs were served in quick time by a pleasant, polished waiter. I can see this place becoming a fast favourite.

Exceptional food and service! Dined here with friends on a Dimmi 50% voucher, and the food was nothing but amazing! I ordered the Kangaroo Island scallops to start with, and every mouthful was just a delight to simply put it. My main (locally caught fish) was also bloody awesome, and I absolutely loved how all the elements worked to create an explosion of flavour!

The treasury has recently been renovated and has been open for about four weeks now. The dining room looked very nice with wooden tables, criss cross chairs and pretty Xmas baubles in vases on the tables. On a Thursday night before Xmas, the restaurant was empty, as as a result we got brilliant service.  For entree we had the tempura zucchini flowers and the squid. The flowers were supposed to be stuffed with pumpkin and walnut, we tasted, nor saw no walnut. Later we were told it was a walnut mousse. Nut pieces would of bought some texture to this dish. This was my third zucchini flower this week, and my least favourite. The squid was generous in size and very flavorsome. For mains we had the duck broth, venison and barra. The duck was rolled and unfortunately we were served part of the plastic that held the dish together. Compared to the other three mains, this sized protein was quite small. The venison was huge, perfectly cooked, and served with a great jus. I did not enjoy the grainy cocoa served with it. This ruined the textures for me. The barra was perfectly cooked. I am a sauce girl and would of enjoyed a sauce with with dish. There is no dessert menu, just an offer of chocolate mousse, panna cotta or an affogato.  I think this is a huge oversight and they need to create some better desserts that one cannot make from a packet at home. We went elsewhere for dessert, so they missed out of more revenue. Prices are on par to other restaurants, apart from the Venison at $42,  I think once, they get over these teething problems, (serving plastic to guests), and getting a real dessert menu, this restaurant will be a great place to dine.

Went to Treasury 1860 to have a week day catch up with friends for lunch during our lunch break. There was a Christmas function in the main dining room so we opted to eat from the bar menu in the bar area. The menu was higher priced than  normal bar menus but we liked the feel of the place and ordered. The beef burger was $20.00 - so we were expecting something really special for that price. After 40 minutes we had to inquire as to the whereabouts of our food. The bar person was apologetic and went to the kitchen to see where the meals were. About 5 minutes later the food arrived. How very disappointing were the burgers. They were small with scant fillings and some chips scattered on the plate...more like a $7.50 burger from the food courts. MacDonald burgers are bigger !  The place is nice for a drink after work or an afternoon get together in the courtyard area (very pretty) but forget eating there.
