Well that was outstanding! Not sure there are enough superlatives for this review. And I'm about to make a big call here....ready for it? I think this is the best Indian food I've ever had. Yes indeedy.
The service exemplified what service should be all about. Greeted warmly by friendly staff members, all the little necessities were taken care of as one would expect. The service stepped up a notch when we were given complimentary papadoms 'to keep us going' since it was a bit busy (we hadn't actually been waiting that long but it was a lovely (and tasty) touch). It was when we decided to return a dish that was too spicy for our taste, that we really discovered their service excellence. The waitress apologised and we ordered a replacement dish. Neither dish appeared on our bill and the owner also came over and offered us complimentary naan. He saw us out after the meal as well. So friendly, so attentive and very generous.
The food was so very delicious and so many dishes to choose from, many varying from the standard range. Full of subtle flavours and spices, with sauces of richness and meat that melted in the mouth. The fluffiest steamed rice I've ever seen and just awesome naan. A good wine list and some great international and local beer, desserts that sounded very tempting and a takeaway home delivery option rounded out the offering. My tastebuds are still tingling and as soon as I can find some more stomach space to fill, I'll be back!
Spice and Ice...very very nice! We haven't been back for a while, but it was worth the wait..the Duck Marsala was he best and the cheese filled naan was soft and fluffy as a pillow. We started with the mixed seafood platter...it was so fresh and tasty...we could actually hear the seagulls and waves crashing in as the boat left the harbor in search of the next catch of the day!
This place was amazing. Great food, excellent service. Tried it out because of the entertainment book but will definitely now be one of my go to places.
I can't praise this place enough! Everything from the delicious food, to the wonderful atmosphere and staff was absolutely sensational! Thank you so much Priyanka!
We went to Spice and Ice tonight on a whim. I was in the mood for Indian but didn’t really know where to go. I looked through our Entertainment Book and this place jumped out at me. Only 5 minutes from home too!
Best decision we’ve ever made! The place was big! Tables were nicely spaced out and it was clean and tidy. We ordered two entrees to share and two mains, rice, raita and the bread basket, and two drinks thinking this would be a good amount of food. The entrees arrived and they were generous! When the mains arrived we knew we were in trouble. So much food and so delicious. The staff were attentive without being overbearing. They genuinely wanted to make sure we were happy with our meal. And we were. They were also very accommodating and provided me with some containers to take the leftovers home. We will definitely be back!
Food was amazing. Wonderful service by our waitress Priya who was super sweet! Will definitely return. Highly recommend.
We’ve just had the most amazing meal. Saturday night, been at soccer all day, needed a takeaway. Not disappointed in the least, the food was hot, the delivery on time. However, the taste was amazing, so fresh and full
Of flavour. Will definitely be ordering again...thanks so much, your food is amazing.
The food is always delicious and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Never leave disappointed or hungry! Highly recommend.
The food was amazing, service was great, wine selection is good too, will definitely be back
Absolutely the best Indian food in Adelaide all 4 of us really enjoyed our meals the customer service was fantastic.Very reasonably priced cant wait to go back
Some of the best Indian food I've had in a while and the service was great; very friendly and professional!
Went there Saturday night for my partners 50th. It was highly recommended by friends. We weren't disappointed. The atmosphere was lovely, the service was spot on, and food, fresh & beautiful. Best butter chicken I have had in a long time!
The best indian in Adelaide! The fire balls are a yummy starter. The lamb madras is absolutely delicious & if you've not tried kulfi (traditional Indian icecream) it is an absolute must!! Great food with great service
We have tried butter chicken, plain naan and garlic naan. Food was good and i am glad they serve fresh naan. Children was tender and cooked properly. Only thing I didn’t like was cardamom in butter chicken(that’s as per my own taste and liking) but overall nice place and must try if you are in the area.
We ordered dinner via Ubereats, tempted by the interesting range of curries. The food arrived very promptly, and was good and hot when it arrived.
The chilli soft shell crab sounded fantastic, but was a bit of a let down. Flavourless and chewy. However, the chicken tikka redeemed the starters. We tried the Ice & Spice house curry, Moreton Bay Bug curry and the duck shank curry. All were excellent. The duck shank had layers of flavour, but wasn't hot. The house curry had a heat that grew and the bug curry had a mild but delicious sauce. (I wouldn't order this again, though, as there is only a small amount of lobster and a whole lot of shell). Great breads and fluffy rice. This would have been a 5* if it weren't for the disappointing soft shell crab, and we will definitely eat from here again.
Great Ambience , attentive service and tasty food. Overall great value for money. The portion size is great which compliments the taste - especially The Tandoor
Spice N Ice is reliably good. The decor is great and the staff are friendly. Everything we ordered was delicious. Being a duck fan I couldn't go past the duck shank masala - a generous serve with the biggest shanks I have seen. An excellent wine list too that is reasonably priced.
A very nice restaurant.Friendly staff n awesome food.Love the tandoori platter n goat curry with Kashmiri pulao.😋😋😋.
Was not happy with the drinks though.
Wonderful service, good prices and a great range in the menu. It's easily in the top 5 dinner options in the Port CBD. Take away available..
This restaurant was a nice find in Port Adelaide.
Ordered some takeaway one night and food was delicious.
Definitely going back and probably dine in
Lovely food. The spice balls with potato and cheese are lovely as are the onion bhajis. The paneer tikka masala was also enjoyable. A steady flow of take away orders were picked up whilst we ate in. I can see why.
Best Indian food in the western suburbs, if not the whole of Adelaide. The goat curry and lamb saag are amazing. Good selection of beers too.
Had a memorable dinner at Spice n Ice last night. Service was outstanding, quick service and the food was amazing with all the flavours of the spices going on. My Beef Kaduwala was delicious and best garlic naan around.
A great selection of imported beers is not often seen in an Indian restaurant. Which is awesome. Curries have plenty of flavor and pack a good spicy punch.
Best local curry without a doubt.
Always fresh, and the "peck" meals are great value. Speed of service is s little slow for pick up- but just call ahead and then it's worth the wait!
Very welcoming , food was beautiful service was also good
Underwhelming. I have never dined in at Spice and Ice but regularly get takeaways from here. I certainly think it’s the best Indian in Port Adelaide... but the bar isn’t set that high. Lately I get the sense that Spice and Ice are slipping again. Latest takeaway order was underwhelming, with no rendang available at all, and other curries generally bland, even when I ordered the Madras with 8/10 heat! The samosas arrived in a bag that had been made translucent from oil (like Homer Simpson's "window to weight gain"!) but the chili/cheese fire balls entree was a standout It’s rare that I don’t want seconds of curry but this was one of those occasions. Hopefully the ship will right itself for next time.
Very nice Indian food down the port. Fire balls lived up to their named and hit that hot spice spot.
Goat curry was just like the lamb Roganjosh but still gooooood.
I just got back about 1 hour ago after first visit.........i am soooo full its just not funny! Portioning is fairly decent, taste is quite good.........service good. 1 bottle of wine, entree and mains with rice and 2 naan (chilli cheese/keshmiri) cost me $98 (with entertainment book discount)..........fairly expensive but i'd go again!
Beautiful. A restaurant I'd love to eat in for a change, rather than just get take away. The staff seem so caring, friendly and attentive. Have had takeaway 3 times and each time its been awesome. Succulent meat in the lamb roganjosh, perfect creaminess in the korma, and for the first time I had their alu gobi, which was sensational. Perfect heat and sweetness in the sauce. Great breads and accompaniments. Can't recommend this place enough. Having lived in Indian neighbourhoods in west London, and travelled around India itself (sorry, just trying to qualify my opinion, not being smug!) I reckon this place is as good as it gets.
Really really good chilli cheese naan. Would come back here just for that!
Had the butter chicken, it was like Ghandi had gone off in my mouth, amazing!
Well worth the visit. We've been meaning to try this place for the past year or so and finally ventured in last week. We are glad we did. The naan bread is different to the normal type you get and is delicious. They had a few different options to the "norm' indian food available. I would recommend the chefs entree selection platter so you can get a taste of a few different dishes. The curries we had were spicy but not overly hot (for those of us who aren't really into the chilli) but they had plenty of hotter options available. All in all we really enjoyed ourselves.
My favorite Indian and love the staff and they have a terrific wine selection.
Not been for some time but it was good cheap food about 6 years ago

My fiancée and I dine here atleast 1-2 a month and we are now known by name. It's a lovely feeling to sit down, have a drink in front of us within seconds, without asking (and they know what we drink) and be greeted by name. The food is beyond amazing and the service is fantastic. We Have never had a bad meal here. The prices are a bit more expensive than other Indian restaurants but the quality is A+. I would highly recommended this restaurant, both Namit and Richie are great and will take care of you!
Outstandingly friendly. Port Adelaide is a tricky location but businesses like Spice n Ice are exactly what it needs. There is nothing fancy about the place or food presentation, but the food tastes lovely. The wine and beer lists are exceptional, and the service and personalised recommendations made a real impression. The vegetable curry -- adapted to be dairy free -- was delicious, as were the platters and meat/fish dishes we had. Great value meal out (or takeaway for that matter!).
Loved it! The spice n ice special is delicious!
Surprising. You don't expect to find a quality restaurant in Port Adelaide... I love the historic buildings but the area just hasn't peaked (or even close to it)... this little gem is just that.
The food is lovely, the wine abundant and the service of a high standard.
I'm not a huge fan of Indian food and rarely eat it theseday's so i can't comment on comparisons to other restaurants.
Our Favourite. Let's face it.. great restaurants are thin on the ground north west of north adelaide but this one is exceptional. Without doubt fantastic rice, naan and a small but delectable selection of curries and other dishes.
We return again and again, it's a family favourite for birthdays etc and the first request when we're too lazy and want to pick up some takeaway.
The only thing which bothers me is that the Split System directs its hot air straight down onto the red wine racks. As a wine lover it makes me shudder everytime when I think of the variances in temperatures those wines are exposed to. The people who run the restaurant though are so nice I can't bring myself to tell them to care properly for their good selection of wines.
A good, reliable and clean Indian Restaurant...
Great Indian Food!!. Fantastic curries. All the classics as you'd expect, all done well. Decor is modern and service enthusiastic but not overdone. Generous serving and great specials to keep the most avid regulars coming back.
Beer list is the best I have ever seen in a restaurant in Adelaide. Matched the food well. Kashmiri Naan a personal fav (Naan with fruit, nuts and spices) great with firey curries. A modern marvel in the Port
