Great coffee, top service, and the best scrambled eggs ever.
Great food & coffee.Definitely recommend people to eat here for breakfast.
Very cool little place for a coffee and breakfast
Excellent fresh salads with plenty of punchy flavour and nutrition! I’ll be back
Had an awesome breaky again today! Can't go past those delicious corn fritters!! Boyfriend had the big breakfast and was impressed with size and flavour (the pesto mushrooms :9) very friendly and lovely coffee! Thanks guys!! :)
Home away from home! Real friendly staff and good food/coffee!

I love big table and I especially love the staff
Best breakfasts at the Central Markets
Best sweet corn fritters in town. Good coffee. Delicious fresh salads. Friendly staff. Hard to get a spot to sit in busy times, but a must do when visiting the market.
Nice place. Nice food. Great place to enjoy a brunch here. The cafe is in the central market. I was wondered a french toast and the staff recommended the blackboard menu, and she said it was special menu so I tried it. which is apple crumbled french toast with white cream, It was excellent actually, with big size and tasty. By the way I hope they can make the toast thinner to let it best soak. I think it might be better
Great place for breakfast and coffee in central market. Amazing barista, very friendly and helpful staff. Bar style seating with very comfy bar stools. For such a small place great menu choices and busy whilst we were there. Will definitely recommend to other friends!
The turmeric latte was really good, not too sweet like other places that add sugar.
The eggs were light and fluffy and the coriander and chilli made it so tasty.
Waited a long time to have breakfast here. Finally got the opportunity when I was back in town for a bit and was able to spend more than twenty minutes rushing around the market for fruit and veges! It’s not often I’m genuinely impressed by coffee in Australia (outside of Melbs!) having been brought up and spoilt in Auckland. But the Chai Latte was the best I’ve ever had. Hot, strong, with earthy spices and just bang on point. I ordered the French Toast with peaches and my dining partner ordered the salmon and eggs. It seems like the menu hasn’t changed much over the years they’ve been operating but hey, why fix what ain’t broke? Both dishes were amazing, especially my French toast, had to watch out for the fork that kept swooping in from beside me! The salads and rolls in the cabinet also look divine. Next time you walk past take a seat. These guys know what they are doing and seem to just keep on doing it!
food was good and came reasonably quickly. we had the corn fritters and avo and bacon with a dill sauce (bit weird!). pricey though for what you get.
Great salads, panini, wrap and roll selection along with a breakfast menu. We had walked around the market and this was a place that looked like the perfect spot to satisfy our hunger. My bocconcini, pesto and tomato panini was spot on and my partner enjoyed his wrap, coffees were very good too.
I had lunch here ordering a small salad for $9. The salads I tasted were amazing - one was cauliflower spiced, carrot quinoa and a lime herb chickpea. You get to top your salad with nuts and/or fetta. Wish I could eat this every day.
A busy place always packed with customers. But you will know that it is worth after trying out their breakfast! Their scrambled egg is amazing - it is soft, fluffy and creamy, seasoning with a balanced salt and pepper. Yummy!! Not to forget about their crunchy soft toast and creamy mushroom. When everything combines on a plate, it is known as the real Big Breakfast!!!
Everything is great at this little gem in central market from their customer service to food. The big breakfast is always a go to if you are looking for a hearty breakfast. The ingredients are fresh and taste amazing.the people are friendly.perfect place to go to on a Saturday day out.
Honest review here.
Have been here for breakfast now about 5 times, and EVERY time has been fantastic. Only took the second visit for them to remember me.
Location is perfect. Parking is easy and when combined with market shopping it is a great start.
For breakfast i ordered the miso sourdough which is the sourdough bread, 2 poached eggs with avocado smash and dukkah. The serve is plentiful, enough for one hungry person. The quality is fantastic, the poached eggs are always cooked perfect and the bread is fresh. The avocado smash and with rocket and dukkah is so tasty - never been let down with this meal.
Have also ordered poached eggs with salmon and again the meal was perfect. Serving and quality are the BEST AT THE MARKETS.
You cant go wrong here - oh and the coffee and teas are pretty damn good as well.
Bon apetit!
First time at The Big Table with the wife. A Saturday at 8.10AM. Decor is old, hip and put together. Where can one start with the menu that all looks yummy? Decided to share. The french toast was really really yummy, generous serving, maple syrup, strawberries, and rhubarb compote. The corn fritters accompanied by bacon, avocado and a yummy sauce were also tasty, but I lean towards the french toast. Accompanied by flat whites that I always forget to ask to have delivered with the meals were nice, albeit, just warm enough. A young lady from USA served us who was friendly, albeit proficient. The girls overall look like they have a good time! Happy to come back!
I find myself frazzled early in the morning without my coffee. Since it is our first time here in Adelaide, we were searching for one place that serve good coffee. As per zomato ratings, we tried this place. I actually liked this place. It is so small but appears to be appealing with its unusual set up in the market. I ordered the skinny flat white while my friend asked for an affogato. I do recommend this place. The ladies behind the counter are all so lovely.

Really enjoyed a casual breakfast at this cafe located in the central market. It's buzzing with excitement, staff are so on the ball, it's cool to watch how they all work well together. We had scrambled eggs with feta spinach and mushrooms and a latte and it was a delight. Great value for money and if we lived here we would make this a regular I think .. 👍🏻
The Big Table has been on my radar for a while. I believe they're known to serve up a range of yummy salads during lunch. However I only had the chance to grab breakfast from here the other day.
I took away a muesli, which ended up being what is probably the healthiest rendition of the dish out of all the cafes I've tried. It was a simple fair of muesli without all the added sugar, served with yoghurt and a range of freshly cut fruits. They also have me a cup of cold milk to go along with it. Really fresh and tasty and only $10 for a generous serve.
Keen to come back to try other things on their menu.
I love this place! I always get the corn fritters with bacon, avo and dill mayo and it always hits the spot. Yummy hot chocolate, and I love watching the bustling kitchen right in front of you as you eat.
A perenial favourite on my trips to Adelaide. Cash only. The friendly ladies (i have never seen a guy there) always are welcoming and have a good conversation with patrons. Always made to feel welcome. Simple food but always good. I always go for the chilli and corriander eggs. Far better than hotel breakfasts.
The Big Table is located in the Central Market, I love eating here as the market on a Saturday morning is a buzz and full of so much fresh produce everywhere that I just want to buy it all. The stall itself is small but there are ample seats around to plant yourself with the choice of stools by the stall or tables off to the side. Looking at the menu I couldn’t decide between a sweet or savoury breakfast. The Co-Pilot had already decided he wanted a sweet breakfast so I went with a savoury option.
We were in Adelaide for a recent long weekend and decided to eat breakfast at Big Table on Saturday morning. We managed to find a table for 4 quite easily as we arrived relatively early (around 7:30am).
I ordered poached eggs on toast with a side of bacon. My companions got the French toast, green eggs and ham, and big brekkie. It was a lot of food and the thick cut toast made it quite carb-heavy. Coffees were relatively good when comparing to some of the other joints we visited. Unfortunately no one seemed to know what a long macchiato was in any of the Adelaide cafes and I eventually gave up trying to order them. The one I ordered at big table turned out to be a short Mac.
Pros: very filling, good value for money, reasonably fast service, friendly staff
Cons: nothing major, incorrect coffee order but was better than most of the other Adelaide cafes we visited on our trip
Big Table has been a regular breakfast haunt of mine for years. I find the best time is during the week when u can get a stool at the counter and watch the staff busily prepping food and also have a chat. I have been on the weekend but it was mayhem and didn't have the same relaxed vibe. Green eggs and ham has been a favorite for awhile but I have branched out a couple of times. On my birthday I had the apple crumble French toast with chai cream and it was incredible! I recently had the corn fritters with bacon and it was very tasty. They also make an awesome soy chai. Whatever I have it is always cooked well and served with a smile.
I went here for breakfast but actually the lunch dishes looked much nicer. The salads looked amazing!!!
I had a fresh juice and muesli with soy milk, rhubarb compote and yogurt. It was nice and the portion was big - but I think it was just supermarket brand muesli (it looked like Lowan's brand). I thin they could have made their own muesli it would have been nicer and I would feel better about paying $10 for my brekkie - but the compote was really nice.
The Adelaide Market is awesome so worth a visit and I would recommend Big Table for a nutritious meal that does not cost the earth.
Very busy and small cafe in the Adelaide market. I had the corn fritters with bacon and avocado, which were quite tasty. Rather limited and cosy seating.
The Big Table should really invest in a bigger table. Expect the exasperating wait for a space and a potentially cosy meal with a stranger at peak breakfast times at this popular staple. Though the kitchen space is limited, the staff seem to hustle well together, matching the bustle and liveliness of the surrounding Central Markets. For a big start to my day, I ordered the big brekkie. Pros: thick, impeccably toasted, well buttered bread, delicious basil pesto on wholesome mushrooms, slightly cooked flavoursome tomatoes that were slightly juicy but not too juicy as to make the toast soggy and fresh rocket. Cons: poached egg wasn't so poached with an overcooked yolk, bacon was a bit hard and not the tastiest quality. Fast service coupled with hefty portions and reasonable prices makes for a good deal.
Big Table is consistently good, with great coffee, good green eggs and ham, the banana bread and French toast are delicious!! Best to get in early so you can secure a spot at the 'big table'.
My absoloute fav place to have breakfast in adelaide. Love the atmosphere of the central markets. And the egg and bacon roll with the chilli jam!
Corn Fritters FTW. Yummy corn fritters, served with avocado and a delightful dill mayo. I substituted the bacon for a side of pesto mushrooms, and was presented with a great Bonsoy chai latte. I found the service to be quick and personable, but it was shortly after opening. Once the market traffic picks up, Big Table can get mighty hectic! Will return to try other options.
Food is generally yummy, staff have attitude. I had some corn fritters with bacon and avocado. Unfortunately the avocado that was hidden between the fritters was pretty ordinary - hard (not ripe) with some gross brown spots. The fritters themselves were good, as was the bacon.
This joint is a bit like tapas bars in Spain. A few 'bar' seats around the periphery that are hard to come by. You can sit at the nearby shared tables instead. If you are sitting at the tables, you order at the bar. If you're seated at the 'bar' you try and get someone's attention, which is not easy.
The staff have a bit of attitude. I had to wait a while to order, and also for the plates from the people before me to be moved. Then, I was rudely told it was cash only (no problem, but tell me nicely please).
My coffee was very good, although they gave it to me in a take away cup as the waitress had made an error - unsure why given she also took my breakfast order. But not a big deal.
Definitely tasty food, so I will go back, but I'll never leave a tip.
Best in Market. Really simple and good food. best sandwiches in the market
Big Awesome Table. It's worth the fight/wait/exasperation for a table at Big Table. It's the best brunch spot in The Central Markets. Coffee, Breakfast, Lunch. Dine in or take away, I couldn't recommend it more!!
Fantastic!. Had brekkie here before going to the market and was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the natural yogurt with pistachios, honey and banana, and was amazed by the beautiful presentation in a claypot on a board! Once I tasted I was beyond delighted as it was delicious and the copious amounts of pistachios definitely went down well! My dad also loved his bacon and egg roll and even loved the chilli jam, despite the fact that he usually can't stand chilli! All in all, I would highly recommend this spot for a quick delicious breakfast before a morning of shopping at the market!
Fresh food and great coffee with reasonable price, also friendly service. i had lunch today but would like to go back to try breaky as well. I came to adelaide from gold coast and big table was exactly what i needed today:)
I had the mushrooms on big toast and a great coffee for around $15.
A generous and tasty serve, friendly and efficient service and fantastic value.
Recommended here!
Delicious!!! Great coffee and perfect breakfast. So glad we came to the markets and found this place... Adelaide markets are brilliant, stylish and trendy. Well worth a visit from out of towners.
I usually visit every friday after work,it has good coffee and apple cakes, breakfast is great, but can get busy at tiimes and service can get a tad slow.Friendly staff and owner.
First great coffee in Adelaide. We got to Adelaide and wasn't sure if it would be able to produce the goods, but we found this place and was pleased.
Brilliant breakfasts and lovely staff.. will be going back again - yum
We love this Adelaide institution! Always a super tasty hearty choice, all made with passion. Fantastic retro feel sets the tone, give it a go, probably best Iin the market.
This is a great breakfast care in the heart of Adelaide Central Market. You might have to hang around for a seat. But the food is tasty and good size for the price. This is our Saturday breakfast favourite.
My favourite place for breakfast! Delicious, big portions, quick service even when they are flat out, couldn't reccommended it more!
Located in the Adelaide Central Market, at the Gouger St end. This cafe is always busy, the reason being, excellent coffee, good options for breakfast and lunch, with great friendly service. We have stopped by this cafe on a number of occasions and have always left impressed. Not hard to understand why they are so busy. Morning papers are supplied if you want to catch the news while relaxing over a very smooth coffee. All good, will return.
Favourite cafe in the market for a funky vibe. Tried their new corn fritters this morning- awesome!! Please make it a permanent feature on the menu.
In amongst it. This cafe is a real winner. Positioned right in amongst the Adelaide Central Market the buzz around the cafe is great. They have plenty of seats either at the bar stools or over the walkway in the market.
The staff a freindly and the food is quality. I ordered a chia latte and the porridge and was satisfied with both. Although the porridge took a while to come out. I had to ask where it was and the waitress said "It's in the microwave". Not something you want to hear, i was picturing it cooking on a stove top out back!
It tasted good though so no complaints.
The green eggs looked amazing as did the selection of wraps, faccacias and sandwiches.
Definitely try this one out and hunt around the market after for some good produce.
'Sp-egg-tacular!!' Had.... ''Sp-egg-tacular!!'' Had the green eggs and ham and they were utterly delicious. If you don't get this dish, you'll be green with envy! Best breakfast in Adelaide. Good vibe, great coffee, and cheap to boot!
Awesome. If only I lived closer, I'd eat here every weekend!
Without doubt, the best breakfast place in Central Market. Serving sizes are generous, and very good value for money. Good choice of meals (my fave is the green eggs & ham and the turkish bread one with the beerenberg chutney).
Staff are friendly, service is prompt and there's generally a really good vibe about the place. Hope it never closes!

Pumpkin Soup a winner. Big Table do good (not great but good and consistent) coffee and the green eggs and ham for breakfast is one of the best breakfasts you could have - original and delicious. Their flat breads for lunch are also excellent and they are well known for their robust, generous tasty salads. The staff are always friendly (since the place changed hands a few years ago) and the service is pretty quick. Located right in the Central Market means the place is always buzzing and has a great atmosphere. Today I stopped for lunch and tried the special pumpkin soup which is a real winner. Incredibly tasty with lovely generous crunchy croutons and a whole baguette on the side for dipping. I really loved the fresh thyme scattered over when served. This place is always a winner.
I love this place for breakfast. Try and grab a stool but otherwise grab one of the nearby tables. Great coffee and smoothies go well with their "green eggs and ham". Love the fat toast. Even though they're always flat out the staff are always smiling.
At big table they were playing old rock music, making fresh apple chutney, sandwiches and salads. The workers had a great vibe and were half dancing whilst working, it felt like as if i’d gone back in time to the 50’s.

Before doing our weekly shop at Adelaide Central Market me and hubby stopped in at Big Table for breakfast last week. I had been hanging out to try this place as every week no fail I walked pass and felt insanely jealous over the amazing looking food that people were eating here. The menu for breakfast includes all your cafe staples, eggs benedict, french toast, porridge etc however we opted for a half size big breakfast for me and a full sized big breakfast for hubby. For drinks I had an English Breakfast tea and hubby ordered a cappuccino. He said it was a good coffee, no bitter or burnt taste and a rich coffee flavour. My tea was your stock standard loose leaf tea, served at a good drinking temperature and in a generous sized mug. Normally when I eat breakfast out I stick to paleo, opting for no toast however the bread here looked so exceptionally tasty I couldn't help myself. As you can see my half size breakfast was still a super generous serve, more than enough really (although t

I love the Adelaide Central Market, it is a place where you can find the freshest produce. I love fresh fruits, vegetables, bakeries and more important the smell of food from cafes. Located on the Grote Street side was this cafe called 'Big Table'.
It’s great to know that after countless visits over the years, the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff remain a significant ingredient. For a delicious, relaxed breakfast in the central markets – the Big Table reigns supreme.
Finally! I’ve been meaning to snag a seat at Big Table for quite a while to treat myself to breakfast and a coffee with solid recommendations from friends for the last couple of months, but every time I made my way there, all seats were occupied. A popular spot with the locals so get in early and snag a seat at their bench or grab a seat in the ‘eating area’ of the markets and get a number from Big Table. (Note: the stall may be called ‘Big Table’, but said table ain’t so big!) Menu board I scored myself a seat at their bench bar and after perusing through their menu up above countless times, I settled on a coffee and the poached eggs and smoked salmon . Tiny kitchen workspace Check out their tiny kitchen space in the centre of the stall! There are a handful of staff within the tiny stall and somehow magically work cohesively in such a tight working space. Soy latte; $3.50 + $0.70 (soy) Poached eggs with smoked salmon; $15.00 Two perfectly poached eggs, smoked salmon pieces, a handful
