Review Antica Pizzeria - Adelaide

David Maddison
We had an enjoyable evening at Antica and couldn’t fault the service, in fact, the waitress was friendly and endearing. We had a special entree of salmon cured in citrus and then a couple of pizzas. The pizzas are great but the centre of them was so sloppy as a result of a thin base and too much topping. A real flacid slice which had to be eaten with fork and knife

The pasta was authentic, fresh and delicious! Love the flexibility and availability of seating and bookings anytime. The menu unfortunately is definitely too pricey for the serving sizes.

Love the ambiance, great location, really great customer service! The food was good but not wow, compared to some other Italian restaurants in town. We started off with the Aranchini balls which was quite nice and filling. As mains we had a portion of gnocchi, which was a great dish but the vegan pizza with the pumpkin puree was too sweet to our liking.

Fantastic restaurant. Food is amazing, wine list is great and service.... top shelf. Thank you for hospitality. We will definitely be back. Sandra and Mick

Fantastic pizzas and the atmosphere and staff are great.

I had the black squid al granchio, ink squid pasta with a crab sauce. The meal was $33 for a smallish bowl. I went through the sauce with a fork and couldn't see any crab in it at all let alone taste it. My wife had a wood oven mushroom pizza which had a soggy base, almost wet therefore she couldn't lift it to her mouth because it fell apart. The guy who delivered our meals look like he'd just found out some bad news. First and last visit.

A really cool place with friendly staff. The meter long pizzas were great but that Nutella one was very strong and chocolaty. The five of us had one and a half of those pizzas but it was a streaches. The hardest part was probably the sheer sicklyness of the Nutella pizza.

What is the point of offering gluten free pizza bases if it's going to be contaminated with gluten. Not all of us are trendy where it doesn't matter if it's contaminated. Extremely embarrassing to then have to sit there while my friends eat dinner and I go hungry. Go and educate yourself on gluten free and Coeliac Disease.

I have decided to post this on your page after you didn't have the decency to reply to my private message days ago. To whom it may concern, myself and three friends dined at your restaurant and honestly I am utterly disappointed in the service that your employees find acceptable. Firstly when I phoned up to book for tonight I felt that the man that spoke to me was rude and disinterested in actually getting a table to accomodate our size as we wanted more people. The antipasto was delicious and met the expectation of dining at your restaurant. Main course was a bit more disappointing to be honest as we had three different meals that were all quite bland and watery. However, we were quite excited to return to try more of your delicious antipasto. But, when we went to pay for our meal our experience rapidly went bitter - when questioning your staff about the splitting the bill they said that we were able to spilt it three ways and directed us to the bar however, when arriving at the bar, the bar staff became hostile towards us, rolling his eyes, mumbling under his breath before confronting the waitress about having to split the bill. Your waitress then rudely called me a liar and said she didn't say I could split the before yelling to me that I would have to pay in full. Quite shocked I obliged and payed in full, and when being asked my method of payment being savings or credit, I said savings to which your staff then tried to pay pass my card, after me correcting your bar staff he then put it though without asking if I would like the receipt as I would now have to split the bill myself. For the high total cost of our meals and the service and our experience should have been greater.

Easily one of the best pizza's ive had outside of Naples itself. Despite some of the rewiews i have read, every time i have eaten here the food & staff were perfect. Dont change a thing guys, no matter how much those Unley snobs complain.....thats all their life revolves around.

Antica is my Italian heaven. The menu is full of amazing Italian delights, but the pizzas are a dream. The hospitality & attentiveness of the staff is fantastic, & they always make me feel so welcome. I'm fussy & always want to add, or change something on the pizza or in the pasta dish! Staff have always accommodated my needs without hesitation. Antica is one of my fav restaurants - weekend dinners spent here are always a winner - keep up the good work guys

Would highly recommend Antica! Absolutely delicious food! Especially the calamari! Cocktails at the bar are also a must!

Seriously the best pizza I have ever had. The base was crispy and the eggplant was cooked to perfection. Definitely coming back!

Went here after I came back from Italy and the pizza made me feel like I was back there again. Great staff, innovative fit out ans reasonably priced. Highly recommend for authentic Italian flavours :)

My family & I visited this Italian restaurant last night for my birthday celebrations. We were extremely disappointed with our meal. The waitresses were very helpful & friendly, however the tall wood oven pizza chef was very unprofessional! Our reserved table was near him & we witnessed him arguing with the waitresses on several occasions. He looked like he just didn't want to be there! We were given complimentary green olives as our meal was delayed. The olives tasted disgusting! Not the pleasant memorable experience we were hoping for!!! The foot long pizza had thin thin thin crust & minimal topping. The pasta gnocchi looked like an entree serve rather then a main. Disappointed!

Have eaten here a few times and never disappoints good is amazing and the staff are awesome will do everything to make sure you have a good experience! Highly recommended.

Awesome place awesome staff awesome food! 🍤 🔥❤️

Terrible terrible service. Booked a table for 9 people, got there and they gave our table away telling us we were booked for one hour earlier. Definitely don't recommend, no point booking either!!

Had a lovely birthday dinner at Antica last night. Staff were very accommodating to us as it was raining and helped us move tables even though they were fully booked. Our waitress was excellent and patient with us as we took a long time to order! Polenta chips, Arincini balls and a couple of real pizza's, to top it of with dessert pizza and Nutella calzone. Yum :) next time I'm hoping to try the 1 metre pizza!

Had dinner here last night he service was less than impressive.... we had to ask multiple times where our drinks were.... the wait for our mains were looooooong considering we had to be out by 8.30. I was so excited to try the pizza but despite the delicious toppings the pizza base was super soggy from the very watery tomato sauce base. To top it off at 8.10 we were all ready for dessert......we were basically told we had no time and were asked to leave as the 8.30 guests had arrived. Thanks but Have no interest in coming back!

Pretty disappointed with service. Had booked a table outside as we were told if we sat inside we would need to be out by 8 but if we sat outside we could stay on as we pleased. Large group of us catching up when the waitress hurried us along to order (at 7pm) as she told us another table would be replacing us at 8pm! We told her we had not been told this and she finally said we could stay and the other booking would just have to wait for us to leave!!! Way to make us feel pretty uncomfortable and unwelcome. When gluten intolerant member of our group wanted to order gluten free pizza we were told "we don't do gluten free pizza"... umm its on your menu!? "Oh we used to do it, not anymore". Well don't advertise it! It was quite a shame as the food was quite good but I won't be returning in a hurry
Kate Wood
The waitress knocked over a glass of wine which landed all over my dress and a lot of our food. The wine wasn't replaced and no apology, she actually blamed my husband! Then to make matters worse the chef knocked over a bottle of oil will landed all over my beautiful leather hand bag!!! Again no apology!! They reduced our total bill after I refused to pay! I am now trying to get compensation for my ruined handbag. Terrible service all round. Don't go to this restaurant!!!!
Lauren
Was looking for good Italian cuisine in the CBD to entertain guests. Initially hesitant because the last review on Zomato was some time ago. However, the meal was delicious and ambience suitable for evening with friends, family or networking.
Tamara
Horrible waiter ruined our experience. The food was okay but not worth the rude customer service. Despite working in the area have not gone back as a result.
Foodie Paradise
I love the pizza here! It has a very nice decor and I loved being able to see the pizza oven! Pizzas were yummy and flavoursome. Will definitely return and try its infamous one metre pizza. Highly recommend!

Finally I have come here and tried Antica. I am not disappointed at all! For entree we ordered the zucchini flower with prawn - kinda disappointed in that one I must admit. The prawns were minced to the max. I was expecting a actual prawn in them. Didn’t have it mentioned on the menu that it was minced prawn. Anyways we also ordered the Arrancini balls - yum yum yum. Melts in your mouth. I’d ask for a side of mayonnaise to go with it. We just took the sauce from our next entree which was the squid. It was a entree size and had a decent amount of squid for a entree size. We also ordered 2 pizzas Quattro Salami and Diavolo add mushroom. Of course we couldn’t finish it but it was so good. With the diavolo if you need more chilli like we did ask for some. They don’t have chilli flakes but they have a beautiful chilli oil to go with it. All together I rate it 9/10 - the atmosphere and lovely service topped it off for sure. Can’t wait to return.

Wow, I have to say that that this place is absolutely amazing. The food, the taste, the atmosphere, You will get to meet some of the most friendly and professional staff I’ve met in the hospitality industry, if you ever get a chance to meet Marika who works here who will help you make your decisions and entice you to some amazing food, trust me it will make your day. One word, amazing. If you want the real Italian experience, come here and you will definitely get it. I’ll be back here soon, ciao

We started with a pasta Mafalda to share, the pork fennel sausage was amazing, then we had a Quattro Salumi and Funghi pizza. This was our second visit here, and it again exceeded our expectations. The staff are great and the food is even better. Everything we have tried on the menu has been fantastic.

Couldn't fault the night. From the friendly and sweet service to the excellent quality food. Wine list a bit light but you're not there for that
Nicko Mills
a fantastic team run this restaurant which delivers authentic delicious italian. Had a surprise birthday for 50 people, great value, and the service, staff, food could not have been better. Thankyou for such thoughtful, professional and warm service where nothing was too difficult and communication was excellent. What a beautiful night, thanks to Antica. Would return in a heartbeat- good cocktails too!

Fantastic vibe to this new restaurant. We were in a rush and the staff did an amazing job getting our pizza cooked for us. Pizza was delicious with a nice chewy base, only criticism is they could of used better ham. It looked and tasted like coles cheapest sliced rolled ham.

Heard so much about Antica that we had to try it .. I was disappointed.. not with the food but the service. Food itself was above average... We had the duck ragu papardelle and mushroom pizza. The mushroom pizza was yummy... Ragu wasn't what I expected, slightly bland but the pasta was lovely. Service ... We were told we had to clear our table due to a function. We almost felt the waiting staff hovering over us so we finished our meal quickly and asked for the bill... Only to wait for another 15 mins before someone brought us the bill.. that too we asked for the bill twice cos they forgot. After all the hovering and endless reminders about vacating the table.

I went here with two girlfriends for the first time on Tuesday. We had seen their Facebook photos and thought the food looked amazing. It did not disappoint! Honestly some of the best Italian I've had in my life. The service was outstanding, so helpful and the food was to die for! Will definitely be returning, asap!

Funghi pizza was one of the best meals we've had in Adelaide. Delicious.<br/><br/>Note: if you order on UberEats, avoid the squid or the rocket salad. They are very saddening; pricey and extremely mean serves.
On The Chopping Board
On The Chopping Board (OTCB) was invited to Antica Pizzeria to try the new pizza pocket offering on the lunch menu.  All food and beverages were provided on behalf of Antica. We are regulars at Antica, visiting both the Morphett Street and King William Road venues, whether for a lunch with the girls, dinner with the family or even a late night dessert fix.  We enjoy the Antica style of pizza with the thin base, thicker crust and delicious fresh and good quality toppings.  With that in mind, we were excited to try the 4 pizza pockets now available for lunch at both venues.  With a takeaway price tag of $10, it is an affordable, quick and easy lunch option.  Or if you have more time to spare and wish to dine in and pair the pizza pockets with a nice refreshing San Pellegrino fruit flavoured sparkling beverage (which cuts perfectly through the carb heavy dish), then the pizza pockets are priced at $13.

Honest review here.<br/>Firstly its a very nice place. The restaurant looks great, parking is plentiful in the area and the service was excellent from the beginning. <br/>Now the food. It is a pricey restaurant - not overly expensive but not cheap either. By that i mean the pizza is nice but NOT THAT NICE, take your kids elsewhere if you just want to treat them for that.<br/>For entree we had an arancini ball - excellent, and polenta chips - excellent. If anything, not enough for the price you pay - but like i said it is a pricey place.<br/>For main my son had fettucine ragu. It was half the size of the plate and was scoffed down in a few minutes. Furthermore the ragu was dry and the lack of meat was obvious. Below average. My wife had salt and pepper squid - was on par with any pub meal. Average size and quality. My eldest daughter had the spatchcock and that was perfect!<br/>My youngest daughter and I shared a gamberi pizza. What a DISASTER! When i first got it i was impressed with the size and thought - how am I gonna eat of all this? Read on. <br/>Now the waitress did advise me that they swapped the prawn with slipper lobster due to white spot disease, but failed to mention that it was probably only 50 grams of it - hardly any pieces on the pizza. Plus it was soggy! They also used normal garden tomatoes instead of cherry - she said they ran out. The pizza crust around the edges was nice and fluffy, but the inner part was completely soggy, probably because it was as thick as an A4 size paper, the undercooked lobster pieces and the tomatoes. So we ended up slurping most of this up and eating some of the fluffy crust - but I mean how much of just crust can you eat!? <br/>You would have thought that a place which says they make great pizzas would actually make a decent pizza. Had MUCH better at local pizza bar sorry. As i said above - great size pizza but only good thing about it was the dough. So if you like just eating dough with hardly any topping - this is the place.<br/>Only saving grace is the dessert - absolutely delicious and very generous portions. If i didnt order that I would have given this place a 2.<br/>Overall - would not come back or recommend this place. :(  If you want a great pizza there are plenty of other places way better (and cheaper) than this. My bill came to $240 and I was not only unhappy, but still hungry (and so were my kids). Note to the chef: watch the base on the pizzas, more topping and don't put topping straight from fridge onto the pizza (waterlogged) and i guarantee you'll get more people coming back.

If you're looking for Italian place this is the one.<br/>Good food<br/>Good stuff<br/>Amazing restaurant.<br/>Pizza and pasta home made for a really Italian taste.<br/>Well done ANTICA PIZZERIA🖒

Tried the one metre pizza and it was absolutely delicious. They were extremely generous with the ingredients. The crust was thick but soft and chewy. The service was quick and staff was friendly and the place had a good atmosphere and nice interior design.

Food: Pizza special San Paolo and later, affogato. I love the traditional style pizza and this did not disappoint. Fresh base, quality ingredients and cooked perfectly. And large. Enjoyed 'till last slice. Affogato at $12 had the biggest "scoop" of ice cream I have seen in an affogato 😍. And it wasn't just plain ice cream either. <br/>Service: a real standout. Easily the best I've had in Adelaide so far. <br/>Ambience: modern on inside, well thought out with decor and lighting. <br/>I didn't have a reservation but no problems. Can't wait to come back, hopefully not flying solo again. <br/>

After coming back from Italy I have been craving good Italian food more. I started becoming more picky with my pasta, Mr Foodie his pizza. Before we went to Italy, Antica Pizzeria on King William Road has always been a favourite of ours. How we imagined it would be like in Italy. Turns out we imagined pretty right so when we got back and had a craving we decided to try the newer sister store on Morphett Street in the city.

I've been there multiple times and I had a fantastic experiences! The young FHO staff is Always very attentive and friendly. Best service ever. will always recommend this place to everyone!<br/>The food is great as well, I had handmade ravioli after one of the waitresses showed us the picture of the chef making them! The ingredients are fresh, For me the best in Adelaide!!

Best outfit and pizza in Adelaide so far!Simple and tasteful menu.<br/>Booked in for a private function a month ago and it's been amazing! All my guests had been looked after with yummy food and smooth service.<br/>I truly recommend this place!

A strong start to the meal. Good ambiance, friendly service and interior was modern yet rustic. We've ordered arrancini and squid for entree. Good crunchy exterior of the arrancini with well flavored risotto and truffle and mushroom. Excellent entree. The squid was good - interesting yet yummy pairing of squid aoili and spearmint. <br/><br/>The long awaited mains came out not long after. The pizza looks amazing with stringy cheese. However the base was slightly thick to my liking. The flavors were decent. The gnocchi was disappointing though. <br/><br/>Overall nice ambiance for a romantic dinner. Decent food but the gnocchi wasn't my cup of tea (even though I love gnocchi)

Most over rated excuse for "pizza" I have ever had the misfortune to over pay for. For the princely sum of $25 I would expect a pizza that at least had toping coverage of more than 90% of the base, but when the entire topping from a slice of pizza is consumed in the first small bite and you have 3-4 inches of "crust" to eat then we have a problem. Having said that the crust of the pizza was tastier than the soggy, wet, ultra thin, under cooked part of the pizza that had tasteless topping on it. I was excited to go there, the walk into the building is good but that's were the experience should have stopped. There is absolutely no point in proceeding any further into this dive than the curved entry. There would be 100+ better places in Adelaide and the surrounding suburbs to go for pizza before this place. Only gave it one star as the site wouldn't allow me to give it 0. Don't bother with this place!

I have been on a little bit of an Adelaide Italian binge lately, just to see if I can change my mind about paying a fortune for simple Italian dishes, and I can’t! Not yet, anyway!<br/><br/>Antica is quite a lovely restaurant, industrial meets authentic, meets chic, I like it. <br/><br/>Whilst perusing the menus, I noted a $13 pizza special on the boards and wanted to investigate.<br/><br/>When we had made our foodie decisions, I asked the friendly waitress about the special on the board and she mentioned the pizza is for a 9in only, which is fine as we wanted a pasta dish as well. We ordered the polenta chips, baked gnocci and the eggplant parmy pizza.<br/><br/>Polenta chips came out fairly quickly and were nice enough, not great, I would have liked them to be a lot more crunchy. I had the most amazing polenta chips at Movida in Melbourne and no one has beaten them yet! So, I am always comparing! The dipping sauces were nice.<br/><br/>Our next courses arrived and I was surprised to see the large pizza instead of the 9in, I enquired with the waitress that we have the wrong size and she informed me that they don’t do 9in at dinner, this is a lunch special only! Mmmm, I thought, could have mentioned that beforehand.<br/><br/>The pizza base was very good and the nap sauce excellent, however very little eggplant and not really an abundance of buffalo mozzarella, we added anchovies which were charged, and these were not a good quality anchovy. I always believe if the menu you are serving is very simple, the ingredients need to be fabulous. The baked gnocci was pretty nice, the gnocci was light and perfect, but I didn’t really get a baked feel to this, to be really uber picky, It would have been nice to have the buff mozz through the whole dish and a golden cheesy gooey top, that, to me, is baked. <br/><br/>Would probably return for the lunch specials 9in pizza $13 and pasta dishes $15, as I would like to try more of their menu.<br/><br/>Thanks Team!

Would give this place a 0 rating if the website allowed. The staff were incompetent, the manager was incredibly rude and dominos probably make better pizzas. Waste of money and space. Save your money and go to Tony tomatos instead!
Poppie
Poppy popped into Antica on morphett Street. He shared the banquet as it would seem with fellow diners. The new fitout is gorgeous. Poppy sat in the front dining area. One thing to mention is that it's incredibly loud and you can't hear the person next to you speak. Poppy digresses, what was Fantastic is was the table staff service, extremely helpful and friendly fresh off the boat fellow countrymen Italians. Full of energy and vigor. Lets get onto the food, out first were the shared antipasto boards. Nothing to complain about here. Then the octopus in oilo which was very nice. Then came the salt and pepper squid which was cooker perfectly, the arancini, polenta chips 😍 and fired mozzarella which were all amazing. Followed by mussels and cockles which were also very tasty and cooked beautifully. Now we come to the shared pasta which was al dente but lacking flavor. Poppy tried the gnocchi, duck papardelle and ragu papardelle, all were quite tame. Then came the 1m pizzas. The toppings were varied, some were ok some were delicious it's all personal preference. Lastly the dessert platter was delicious, panna cotta and the crème brulé being the stars. Overall a quality eat, definitely worth a visit 👍

Great authentic Italian food accompanied by great service. Love the atmosphere, the place looks amazing and has a warm feel. The food was beautifully presented and had pleanty of flavour. The staff were more than helpful when I was struggling to make a decision on what to eat, but also very polite and attentive.
Easy Eater Nath
Took 4 hours to eat and cost $60 per person. Pasta was bland, pizza was average and several people at the table (15 people) only ate a couple of slices of pizza for the whole night. Post meal it obvious everyone shared this opinion... Luckily the service staff were very friendly. For what is available elsewhere for far less money I will certainly not return here.
Nicolacross2009
Who makes a delicious, scrumptiously cheesy metre long pizza, large enough to feed a small town and then don't split bills?. A table of 20 with a calculator and pen- not an ideal way to end an otherwise lovely night. split bills, not friendships.
FooDee
Hmm I am not too convinced about Antica's pizza. I do love their restaurant in Hyde Park, but my first experience here was mixed. The fit out is very cool, definitely worth checking out. Although the place was packed out, the service was fast and attentive. <br/>We tried arancini, and they really were a great start. We were in a large group so we got a one meter pizza, and a pizza on the side. The dough was nicely thin but, it was soggy and seemed undercooked. Everyone around the table agreed that we've had better pizzas in Adelaide. I might give them a go again but with so many amazing pizza options, not sure when that will be.

Pizza and Pasta homemade, <br/>Fresh quality, wood oven and wood grill,<br/>Great service,<br/>Great atmosphere,<br/>Great cocktails bar (with Great prices during Friday's happy hour)<br/>This place is an Authentic Italian Pizzeria / Restaurant.. <br/>I strongly recommend to try it at least once :)

Great food and the pizzas are authentic as the ones I had in Sicily!! Fast and friendly service. Though they forgot about our salad and it wasn't served. We ordered our third pizza, funghi, to replace the salad which came less than 5 mins! It was almost they knew what we were going to order it!! Should've just ordered the 1 meter pizza if I knew we were going to have 3!! As you see in pics, we couldn't wait to eat the the food!

Expanding on the success of their first restaurant in Hyde Park, Antica Pizzeria E Cucina have opened a more modern and larger version in the city. Owner, Anthony Crea, has travelled through Italy to perfect his recipes and give customers an authentic Mediterranean experience. Much of what you’ll find on the menu at the Hyde Park restaurant can be found here.
The Adelaidian
Everything about Antica Pizzeria’s first city location embodies the Italian way of life, from the exterior and interior design to the warm and friendly hospitality. From Morphett Street passers by will spy a small, arched private entrance, which made me reminisce about the buildings in Italy. The long corridor after the vaulted ceiling leads to two separate bars to walk between and a large open plan dining area, which will be able to accommodate many people for hours on end.

Lovely atmosphere and friendly greeting when you walk in. Agree with Mark T about the non closing windows in the front section but luckily we were seated at the back. Excellent service all night. An issue with one of our dishes was dealt with professionally and without embarrassment for anyone and we were happy with the way it was handled. We had the gnocchi which had good texture however, the sauce was a bit lacking in flavour. The pizza was a good size for the price and tasted great but could have done with a bit of extra time in the oven as the middle was soggy. I'd go back to try some of their small dishes.
Candice
Delicious and fast friendly service .<br/>So many pizza pasta options to choose from.<br/>Slightly on the pricey side but all up tasty food and wine

We went to Antica for a catchup with family recently. There was a big group of us (15) and we had all heard great things. The waitress was polite and attentive, particularly given the number of us at the table. Her attempts to encourage us to order starters should be commended but we held strong and decided we only wanted to share pizzas. We wanted to order 5 of the famous one meter pizzas to share amongst ourselves, however once we had placed our order we were told they only 2 bases of the one meter pizza dough left and that they could give us the other 3 pizzas toppings on regular round individual pizzas. We were all confused as to why they couldn't roll out the round individual pizzas into the large one meter pizzas. Our pizzas arrived and there was enough to go around, however one of the pizzas was very burnt along the edge which was extremely disappointing. The pizzas weren't cut either, I think this was overlooked due to their haste at wanting to get our order out. A couple of diners in our group ordered individual dishes which were ok but nothing special. One was the broccoli and Italian sausage orecchiette, another was the bistecca served with a mushroom sauce which was cooked well but needed seasoning. Dessert options were good, we were told that everything they make for dessert they make themselves. This isn't true given that I had the gelato with manufactured Nutella. This came served as one vanilla and one rose flavored gelati scoop topped with Nutella. I couldn't rally taste the rose flavor in the gelati but Nutella makes everything better. One other diner ate a semifreddo which was served with a chocolate cookie on the base, it was quite nice but sweet. Drink options were plentiful, the aperol spritzer was delicious as were the red wines on offer. The strawberry daiquiri looked tasty but potent. We might be back but only for a quick bite if we can't get into other favorite pizzerias in the city.
Mark T
Pros: excellent starters and pastas. From the olive ascolana, to the polenta chips and the range of beautiful Italian cheeses, it's tasty and authentic. <br/>Cons: would not return unless guaranteed a table at the rear. They can't close the windows at the front and the doors were left wide open despite it being 10 degrees. Disappointed we weren't told this when booking because it was very uncomfortable outside.
Bazza01
Mixed. Great fit out, good service and nice pizzas. Pasta dishes need a lot of improvement - bland, smaller side portions and need to be more 'hearty'. Had to send back and ask for another option. Prices slightly on the high side for a casual eatery. Probably would give it another go.
Mark Chau
Came here on recommendation that the Hyde Park location was quite delicious. Can't say I was disappointed! The pizzas were flavorsome and the bases had a great texture to them. Service was attentive (almost too attentive!) and the place had a nice atmosphere to it. Oysters were also delicious!

Antica is a classy restaurant, yet maintains a warmness thanks to the pleasant staff and surroundings. The interior is gorgeous, complete with bar, wood oven and open kitchen. <br/><br/>My Gnocchi Pesto was delightful - soft pillows of goodness in a tasty sauce. This was more than filling, but I just had to order a panna cotta to share with my friend, after eyeing one off at the table next to us. Their metre pizzas are also a clear favourite, and it was fun to watch diners 'ooh' and 'ahh' as they came out. I will definitely tuck in to one of these next time I visit.<br/><br/>Outstanding Italian.

Wow , what an amazing dining experience. <br/>Beautiful fitout. Great attentive staff. Then there's the food.<br/>Simply amazing. The most authentic italian pizza in Adelaide. Yep , better that etica better than pizza e mozzarella. <br/>The gnocchi pesto, better than osteria oggi .The steak, moist tender and the best scotch fillet I've had. Surely something had to go wrong with this experience? Nope , the tiramisù was so delicate and once again the best one I'd ever tried. <br/>I<br/>Cant<br/>Wait <br/>To<br/>Go<br/>Back

This review looks at the new store on Morphett St. My eating group wanted to go to the one in Hyde Park, but that one was booked out. So this started our journey into the city.<br/><br/>When we arrived at the city restaurant, it was full of patrons, which I consider to be astonishing as this was later towards the night. We were seated at the bar and waited an hour for a table. Always make a reservation. Lesson learned. But this allowed me to appreciate the decor and modern carpentry and white tiles that lead into the open-kitchen--giving the impression that I left Adelaide and entered Europe. <br/><br/>When we were seated, I had a look at the open-kitchen and was excited to see things that augmented Antica's seriousness in providing an intimate Italian experience. Hand-made pasta left to dry, a chef wearing a badge with the symbol of the Italian flag, and a very large wood-oven. <br/><br/>We were a bit cautious with overeating, so we all had a pizza each. Being a meat-lover, I instinctively chose the quatro salumi: San Marzano tomato, Fior di latte, casalinga salami, salami piccante, porchetta & leg ham. And I got to try some Margharita on top of that. The food came out in what I would consider a quick time after ordering considering there was a full-house that night. Unbelievably both pizzas are worth lining up for. There is so much richness, a perfect amount of sweetness to the tomato sauce, the meats beautifully cooked and can individually appreciated, and the crust gives an enjoyable chew. The size of the pizzas were enough to satisfy my appetite despite having not eaten for 6 hours that day and being extra hungry from lining up, and they are reasonably priced too.<br/><br/>We were worried if we were going to miss out on the charm or quality that is usually established in the first restaurants. I'm happy that Antica managed to save our night, and I would love to come back and try some of their pastas and entrees.
