I am already a returning customer, but todays experience was the best one yet. We had Mark host/wait us for most of our visit. Thought he may have been the owner, turns out he's the owners father (awesome seeing the family supporting each other). His service and welcoming manor was exceptional. I'm also going to give a big shout out to the rest of the staff that brought us our drinks and cleared our plates when we had finished our meals; their service as well was top level. Finally, the food and coffee; we personally couldn't fault it. Portions were very good for the price you pay. My partner had the nachos and I had the eggs benedict. Delicious food every time and awesome coffee. I've been a cafe manager before and have strong previous barista experience and I can honestly say that this place is up there with one of the best cafes I've ever been to in Adelaide. Definitely recommend to anyone and my partner and I will see you all again soon! Thank you for an amazing experience!

We decided to have brunch at Red House. The greeting staff are wonderful and make you feel really welcome. It has a lovey atmosphere and the food is amazing. We chose the big breakfast and loved the idea that you can choose 5 items on the list as your serving. This is such a great idea as set menus can be so limiting. The food was very tasty and served quite quickly. I especially liked the coffee as it suited my taste as I find some coffee houses serve bitter coffee, this one was smooth and delicious. Great experience and food. Friendly staff.

Today was my first visit here ... definitely won't be my last! The food here is so delicious and the whole menu looks really good. The staff were top notch. Old school, proper service that you dont find everywhere these days. Each member of staff that we dealt with was 10/10

Holy fudge sticks!!!!!!!!! Simple yet delicious food in a cozy little shop. I had the Croquet Madam and the only thing I could say would be there was a little too much basil pesto for my liking given how strong of a taste it has but that's just me....I'm definitely going back though.. prices were reasonable and relative to the dish size, atmosphere was warm and inviting and the staff are super nice and easy going yet professional.

First visit and so impressed with owners introduction to the history of the place. The food was good, coffee good and our grandson delighted in the best babycino with two beautiful marshmallows. Have recommended this gem to friends on Facebook and will definitely introduce our out of town visitors to this lovelyrustic venue.

What a wonderful breakfast and coffee we had this morning. The staff were very accommodating with our large group somehow managing to serve us all in record time. I chose the Pink Lady granola and it was sensational. Judging from the favourable comments, I'm sure there will be many return visits from the group.

The best thing about this place is their service...I'm not sure if it's a family business but it sure feels like it is. Their menu is pretty whimsical ..I had their chilli scrambled eggs on muffin and it was delicious! The portion size was also very generous. Coffee wasn't bad as well.. on my list of brunch places to go!

I couldn't fault the atmosphere, the taste of the food, coffee & the friendliness of staff..
I believe presentation on a couple of dishes have room for improvement & I did have to ask about one dish not being brought out although the staff corrected the issue automatically & with a smile, the vibe of the restaurant was fantastic.

The addition of the vintage clothing area was a delight, being able to try on all sorts of clothing was a fun additive to the breakfast.

I wish I would have known it was pet friendly although it just means I will be returning for another visit with my furbaby.

The customer service is fantastic! Got here late in the afternoon for a snack, and the kitchen had just closed. However, the chef and the staff were happy to turn it back on to cook something for us. Nachos was good, good balance of flavours and not overkill with the cheese. Would dine here again.

Quaint little cafe with a real rustic feel. Similarly to The Loose Caboose, the Red House Shop and Cafe is a beautifully converted train station that serves a variety of hipster type dishes. The hardest part of dining here was choosing what to order as everything sounded incredible. Great coffee and plenty of parking.

Let's begin with the setting. The old North Adelaide railway station with trains going by on one side and the Parklands on the other. And the building has been kept in a more original state than the similar location at Bowden (Loose Caboose) so there's quite a charm about the place. Art on the walls, retro clothing for sale.... It's all slightly eccentric and left of centre.

Then, the service. Somebody really needs to set the staff of this place up in a contest with the staff of Mr Sunshine's in a smile-off to see which has the friendliest service. Friendly, pleasant and helpful.

The excellent coffee arrived in a cup the size of a small bucket (I had ordered "large") and with a nicely baked Zeppole. My companions had rich hot chocolates and orange cakes and loved them. On a wet cold day it all went down very well for a mid afternoon reviver.

The lunch menu looked very seductive and we'll be back to try it out

This cafe is my fave in adelaide! Staff are always super welcoming and accommodating. They cater to a large range or dietary preferences. The coffees are consistently served at a perfect temperature. I've been about 6 times with different people and have never had a bad meal here. Highly recommend this place!

Red House Shop and Café is in the old North Adelaide Railway Station located on War memorial drive.  It is not only a Cafe as the name suggests, as there is a vintage shop where clothing is sold.   There is plenty of parking available, racks to hold up your bikes too.  You can walk to the inside through an old ticketing office window or sit outside if you prefer the sunshine.

This cafe is on War Memorial Drive near the golf course and on the bike/walking track. It is in the old North Adelaide railway station building so overall it has a great location. I was interested to know what the shop was rather than the food  so decided to stop there about an hour before closing on a weekday.
The staff were very friendly and were happy to show me through the building  (the cafe  wasn't busy) and into what had been the station master's house - where the shop is now located. This shop is a retro/vintage collection and is in a small room off the passageway. It is well stocked and presented in such a small space and for those into that type of thing you would be sure to find something.
I decided to order a coffee and spinach filo - all products in the display are house made and looked fresh but there was nothing there with a huge wow factor. However, lots of vegan and vegetarian options which was a plus. The spinach filo was tasty and the coffee was unusual in its flavour and just a touch gritty. It may be the beans or just the way it was made - but it was drinkable although true coffee buffs may not think so.
There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and the cafe is dog friendly. The owners definitely want you to enjoy their cafe and it is great that they have kept this historic building 'alive' with their business concept.  It is in a great location and an easy drive or bike ride/walk from Adelaide CBD and Bowden is just across the railway tracks if you want to explore an historic area of Adelaide.
Red House is worth a try - it is open until 4 pm (kitchen closes as 3) so you can check it out with just a coffee and snack type dish if you don't want to have  a full breakfast or lunch.
Summary: Service friendly.  Great location.  Coffee average.  Food good. Worth a try? Yes to see for yourself.

So happy We discovered this place. Nice, beautiful vintage decor and interiors. The place has so much history. Came by just as they were closing, the owner was more than happy to still accommodate us. Had coffee and cake which was excellent. Friends have raved about the breakfast, will certainly be back for that next time!

I liked the idea of building your own breakfast, so did just that and opted for poached eggs, avocado, mushrooms, haloumi and a hash brown. At $17.90 for five foods on their menu and served with toast, I considered it a reasonable price. The execution wasn't perfect, (1 x hard poached egg and a tad bland), but overall pretty good. As for their cakes...delicious! Adored my caramel slice and New York cheesecake, which were both fresh out of the oven. Love the location, as it's in North Adelaide yet tucked away in a quiet spot opposite the golf course.

Had a great lunch at the red house. Had heard awhile ago that a cafe/shop was going to open up in the train station so was excited to finally make it here. I must admit I forgot to look at the shop but the interior is well done and the seating outside is great. We had the veg and beef burger. Both were huge!! Such generous servings for a great price. I loved my veg burger, the onion relish is very tasty. My friend had issues eating the beef burger as there was so much going on and it kept falling out but he loved all of it. The staff were very friendly, warm and welcoming. Will definitely be back to have breakfast.

Love this place! They've captured the history of this old station and revamped it back to life with a great atmosphere to hang out and dine in. The staff are fantastic, the food has been on point every time and the baked goods are heavenly! Especially when grandma brings it out fresh from the oven! Brekkie, lunch, all delish! The pancake is a must! Very cool spot, great vibes :)

Nice and very welcoming little cafe that I would like to return to. Was a bit hot to sit outside 2day, though on a day with a breeze would be perfect under the umbrellas. Was a wee bit cramped inside but really quirky and old looking (in a good way). Liked the 'make your own brekky' option and choccie milkshake was actually awesome!👌

I've been to Red House 3 times and it ticks many boxes. Service is super friendly, coffee good, gorgeous venue, menu is fantastic and pastries are delish. However I reckon the meals could be more stylish or varied in their presentation. The menu sounds sophisticated but what comes out on the plate can be ordinary. Not bad ....but not living up to expectations of a young hip place. Adding some fresh herbs or colour to the meals would spruce it up. I had a 'fresh' juice that definitely wasn't!! And the 'mushroom' breakfast meant button mushrooms. Early days I know. I'll definitely go back.

Super cute atmosphere, I came here for a sunday brunch with a few girlfriends. Service was a biiiiit slow but they were very busy. I had the corn fritters with avocado which were lovely and the coffee was great. There's a lot of umbrellas providing shade out the front so its perfect for a sunny day.

Great ambiance and yummy food. Also excellent service. Loved the decor but could maybe be a more consistent with a railway theme. Young, energetic staff. I am normally a fussy eater but I found plenty to interest me on the lunch menu. The coffee's tops and my partner ordered a second - unusual for her. PS We are seniors and get a buzz from the youthful energy - combined with the history theme. PPS Hiring? Not bloody likely, retirement is too much fun!

Made a quick stop for a coffee and cake on a beautiful Saturday morning. My mocha was fairly decent but those handmade pastries is a must. Service was some what disorganised and absent but when you get someone it's all good.

Even with Its lovely little spot, red house has much to compete with all these new cafes popping up. Will be back to try a full meal.

Went here on a busy Sunday morning. It was busy so sat in the little courtyard. Which is just stunning with all the flowers and colours. Stopped here for a coffee which was excellent, very smooth and good selection of non dairy milks.

Vegan pasty from Brighton Jetty Bakery was very tasty.

I asked the waitress who served us about vegan options on the menu as it was not very clear. I was so happy when she told me she was vegan too and would come run is through the options on the menu. Such great service, will return and recommend.

Gorgeous cafe with a really flexible menu including a 'build-your-own' breakfast. Loads of vegetarian and vegan options, including cakes and Brighton Jetty Bakery pies and pasties. The hash brown and zucchini fritters are especially delicious - so soft and 'creamy'! Excellent coffee. Really helpful and friendly staff.

The Red House Shop and Cafe is located inside a heritage listed and previously disused railway station. It’s not only a cafe but also a vintage clothing shop, market and space for theatre and arts. The service counter is an old ticket office window and is surrounded by the main dining area, bench seating along a hallway and an outdoor space.

The Red House Shop and Café had only been open for four days when we visited for breakfast. It’s located at the quieter end of War Memorial Drive, North Adelaide, on the Gawler railway line. In actual fact the shop and café are in the old North Adelaide Railway Station, which originally opened in 1857, one of the three oldest railway stations in South Australia. When we arrived, the open fire was burning, taking the chill out of the air. These old stone buildings can certainly feel cold, but we felt nice and cosy. We were greeted by a staff member through the old ticket office window, which was a nice touch. In the main area there are seven tables, plus a bench looking out onto the beautiful garden at the front.

This is a fab Restuarant in Nth Adelaide, South Australia. Inside bookings are a must.. Open fire, wooden decor. Outside is a retro setting with maybe 7 tables. Metal seats are cold in the winter so we were offered chair pads by the friendly staff and the use of blankets to keep out the chilly air. A Disability park. Wheelchair access and toilet. Vintage clothing and accessories store inside. What I'd comment most on is the F O O D! It was freshly made, delicious, upmarket breakfast /lunch menu..and served hot, along with drinks. Excellent service.. Avg meal $20. I'll take more pics when I go next time!

Great little spot nestled in the North Adelaide parklands. It’s part of a still operational train station but they’ve converted the station house now into a restaurant cafe. Coffee is good and they have free WiFi for anyone wanting to work there. Seating inside and out for enjoying a warm spring afternoon in the sun listening to the local birds chirping. Didn’t try anything on the menu but the guy next to me had a burger which looked pretty tasty! #BeatTheGrind
