Review La Moka - Adelaide

Gorgeous little café that makes a mean hot chocolate! The custard crossiant 🥐 was delicious as well, make sure to grab a napkin though!

Overall Cafe experience was good, it is a very cute little bar. Mediocre food and drinks. I ordered the Egg & Prosciutto roll and to me it was average My friend ordered the Avo on toast, was a good serving and presentation was okay but they took off the tomatoes as some were green. We both ordered a mocha frappe even though it wasn't on the menu they said they were happy to make it and they were presented nicely.

Friendly and cute bar to sit and have a glass of red, a little bit on the pricey side but definitely pours a decent glass of fine red! 🍷🥰

What a perfect little bar at night and coffee shop during the day. Friendly service, cool decor and let’s not forget the coffee - so good and served with a smile! Highly recommend if you’re on this side of the city

Beautiful. I really don't get down Peel St enough. A gem of the West End and La Moka is a gorgeous addition. This little coffee shop/bar was pumping on a Friday morning and righfully so. I nabbed a seat outside in the Winter sun, with my new book and to do a bit of people watching as well. Service was great, super friendly barista, and the coffee is ace! For the price, size, and taste it is such great value. You also get a little piece of delicious biscotti on the side. My previous go-to coffee shops in the city have unfortunately closed, so I am on the lookout for more! This has easily become one of those. Love your work. Highly recommend!

Always busy as it shows the establishment serves great coffee and nibbles, combined with genuinely friendly service and a great vibe. Nicely hidden gem tucked away half way through Peel street in the city. Nice seating upstairs, indoors, and out the front in the open to enjoy the Adelaide weather. Highly recommend a visit! 5 far recommendation for sure!

Great selection of bar/cafe menu. Also some beautiful pastries n biscottis aside. Had medium flat white. Mmmmm. One thing to mention. The medium size was almost two n half times bigger than the small, but it did not take a long time to realize it was bad choice. Medium size which I took, was rather too much milk in it, it taste almost like latte.

Lovely place and lovely and professional staff. If you are looking for a good coffee I recommend it. Saturday night for a drink is one of the best place in Adelaide!

The absolute best coffee in Adelaide made and served by gorgeous staff with welcoming smiles. La Moka never fails to please. :)

One of Adelaide's best kept secrets. Cocktails are great and the staff are fantastico! Well recommended . Hazelnut espresso Martini went down very well .

This recently became my local cafe for the last three months. Probably the best coffee I've had in Adelaide every single time. Super friendly and sassy staff and fantastic service!

If I could score more negatively I would. A guy with a beard (30 seconds after we sat down) kicked us out because we hadn't decided what we wanted to drink yet - although he didn't offer us a menu and there weren't any on the table. He was incredibly rude and said we offended him by not ordering yet. Obviously we did not order after feeling so unwelcome. He then escorted us out. I've never been so poorly treated as a customer. I won't be back and nor will my friends.

Exceptionally good good coffee. I had a second cup it was so good. Which was made by a different barista - second cup just as good.

La Moka is slightly too convenient to work and they have really good coffee which they serve with a delicious little biscuit on the side. Friendly staff.

Walking into this place I felt like I’d teleported into Italy for a coffee. It’s equipped with all the wonderful Italian treats you’d expect to see. Always happy to see delicious gf options for me to try. It’s cosy inside with an upstairs area also. Coffee was sensational. Strong - perfection 👌 Friendly Italian charm in feel and service. Love. Will be back.

Quiet café with a nice upstairs area. We hopped in for quick coffee, and ordered a long black and a mocha.

The place was dark and ambient, and the overall experience was quite positive.

The best ice coffee ever in Adelaide. I have ordered iced coffee then he asked me blended or just long black with ice. I went for the second one. It is so creamy and nutty with bit of milk foam on the top. Atmosphere is so cool and trendy :)

Great coffee and friendly staff, great location, little gem in the middle of peel street, even great for some casual drinks late night! Nothing really more to say!

We stopped by La Moka on a super busy Saturday evening, and grabbed a quick drink before heading to Bread and Bone across the road. My Aperol Spritz was beautifully refreshing, and the others in my group also enjoyed the various cocktails they had. Can't wait to try their food, the lasagna at the table next to ours smelled amazing! And the atmosphere on a busy evening is intoxicating and reminds me of Europe. A must try!

We are in love with this place and the people who run it and staff..even though they will not give us the Mulled wine recipe, which is to die for. Best atmos, why are they not open for Bfast on a Sunday. I would recommend this place 100% as a must for drinks in Adelaide

La Moka is one of those places that remind you of Italy. A little hole in the wall on Peel Street with a bright yellow door you cannot miss. There are small tables outside and even a bar along the window. Quite the perfect pit stop for a coffee, drinks and nibbles. La Moka is a coffee and aperitivo bar and their coffee is the specialty. On weekdays they open 7.30am-5pm but stay open late on Thursday and Friday nights, perfect for the weekend wind down (and wine down). Being a CBD spot they also serve breakfast, lunch and sweet treats. You can start your day with things like ham and cheese croissant or egg and prosciutto roll then pop in for a piadina, focaccia or ciabatta roll at lunch. Something heavier? There’s lasagna.

Awesome little cafe / wine bar. Great coffee, good wine and good mixed drinks. Love the hours they open and that you can get quality coffee at any time of the day... most nearby cafes close by mid afternoon.

Lovely, lovely lovely!!

From the cute yellow door, to the upstairs seating, La Moka is just adorable.

Sitting on the ever developing Peel Street, La Moka is inconspicuous with a yellow door and only a couple of tables outside.

Inside are lovely staff that are there to offer delicious coffee. I'm not sure what beans they use, but I'm definitely a fan. Smooth and tasty, I didn't even need sugar.

I've not had much else, but they are reasonably priced, great atmosphere & lovely staff. I've mad a lot of meetings here, a great place to go for working!

Delicious cocktails and coffees, as well as a fairly good wine list and snacks. I'd like to see some heavier reds on the wine list but the selection was still good.

I needed a place to chill before a show so sat my bum down in La Moka on Peel St. I got the Antipasto platter and a latte. The platter produce was top notch! I had my pick of salami, prosciutto , olives, antipasto mix, caprese salad, olive oil, pear, cheese, currants, bread, lavosh and bread sticks. The latte was nice and smooth served with a biscotti. Overall a chilled out feel and good place to kill time.
A Bite Of Adelaide
the best coffee in adelaide!! they serve a small biscotti with every coffee... i love that touch. very friendly staff
Two Fat Cullos
Popped in for a coffee & ended up having two! The coffee was obviously very nice with the added touch of a mini almond biscotti tucked in the side. Love the fit out, very Italian feel to it. I like how they've tried to keep it as Italian as possible with all the delicious breakfast pastries & continental panini's on display not to mention some of the Italian staff. It's a nice little tucked away spot still in the CBD but with out the hustle & bustle of the city around you. I'll definitely be back to try some of the foods.

La Moka is a piece of sunshine amongst the growing pretentious population on Peel St. It's a perfect spot for coffee or lunch. What make La Moka truly unique is the cocktail menu and cheese/cured meat platters. Service is warm and friendly and ambience is chilled but professional. It's definitely worth a try.

With small bar licences being handed out like pamphlets at a voting booth, the once dark and dingey Peel Street alleyway has been transformed into a vibrant and trendy social destination, giving life to the laneway culture that we so often see in Melbourne. A handful of new bars have opened since I last walked down this street, with La Moka being one of them.
