St. Louis House of Fine Ice Cream & Dessert serves excellent quality icecream made in an icecream factory in South Australia using local ingredients. Real pasteurised milk and real cream is used and the icecream tastes as if it was made at home. The coffee is also very good and it feels like you are transported to a cafe in Paris. #stlouis
Very nice place for dessert! Their milkshakes are the best! We had fondue which has just little toppings but thanks it comes with churros which covers everything. Love the environment, close late and near to victoria square tram. so you guys wanna have late night dessert this is the place!👍
I have come here for dessert quite a few times and always leave happy. The crepes never disappoint, no matter what options are on the menu, and the ice cream is great quality and available in a good range of decadent flavours. For me, St Louis is like that old friend you see a couple of time a year, someone you always enjoy catching up with but isn't really on your mind most of the time. If I die with St Louis as my friend, I'll die very happy!
Fancy looking ice cream corner at Gouger street is one stop shop for desserts. I tried banoffee ice cream and it was THE BEST EVER. Other flavours are good but banoffee is spot on. Take away and dining in options available. Cosy ambience.
Not usually a dessert bar fan, but this ice-cream was GOOD and unusual flavours. Family favourite was the Eton Mess. Not cheap but if you have a hankering for something sweet, I’d give it a go.
Fondue for two, Crepes and waffles were ordered. There is a slight delay in the service, but the icecream and food is at its best. Always a treat to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Went here for a first date and it was the perfect location. The food was great and coffee was of high quality. Would recommend for a Sunday catch up or a casual meeting. They have a breakfast menu and are licensed which is also a bonus. Good range of cocktails. Outside seating is good and great for nicer weather.

We went there for 2 days' breakfast during the Easter holiday 2018. Many of cafe/restaurants closed but it opened, always! And the food qualities were remained the same. Yummy and good service! I can't give a rate lower than 5*. 100% recommended:)
Mmmmm..... Delicious !! I love my ice cream but otherwise I don't really have much of a sweet tooth but the crepes here are delicious and so is their ice cream. I've visited both their branches - the one at North Adelaide and Chinatown... You're likely to get a seat at the North Adelaide branch with better service :)
The place is small but has a great feel. Great customer service and the crepes are Definitely amazing. Sadly I wasn't a fan of the coffee, it wasn't drinkable and I'm a big coffee drinker.
Although we went to the O'Connell street North Adelaide Venue I couldn't resist the opportunity to give a 5 star review, my partner and I were in Adelaide for 3 days and each and every day we visited to indulge in the magnificient desserts this establishment served, from the Churro to the Fondue, Waffles, Crepes, Salted Caramel Shakes, Belgian hot chocolates and coffee..... this place was above and beyond spectacular.
Need to bring this stuff back to Victoria, this would be a Huge hit !!
You know what's amazing with this dessert place ? After you have a great dinner here at Gouger street, you can easily go here to finish off your night out. Great selection of desserts and hot beverages, St. Louis House of Fine Ice Creams and Dessert is probably one of the best dessert cafes in town. If not the best!

A St. Louis regular, I've tried nearly everything off the menu and most icecream flavours. The desserts and range of desserts here are excellent and I love the chocolate they use. This is my go-to spot whenever someone suggests a dessert catch-up, and by someone I mean mainly me. It's such a cute cosy spot especially for the cold wintery nights. The salted caramel icecream was what kept me coming back here at the beginning, I much prefer their icecream compared to Gelatissimo, 48 flavours and Compenhagen (big call, I know). Now-a-days I come for the waffles (Ferrero or Chocolate and Caramel waffles), hot chocolate and churros!

This was fanstastic! We were greeted promptly by a very sweet girl. I asked her what she suggested a d she told me the ferrero rocher (spelled?) waffles. So we got it, along with a blended mocha.

Came here with my husband for date night. We had the eaten mess and the crepes. It was very nice and the serving has huge for the eaten mess. But it is a bit expensive two desserts and a coffee set us back about $38, I suggest you have dinner at home and come for dessert here after!
I loved the interior of this place with its charming wooden floors and cosy seating, and came here for the reason it received good reviews. However, the service seemed pretentious and the ice-cream was just OKAY. The ice-cream was lacking flavour and just needed this punch to really match the name of what flavour it was.
Pricing was okay but flavours were lacking.
Finally got around to visiting after hearing so much about the desserts here. I had originally intended to try the cookie trifle, but ended up ordering the banana brownie martini. No regrets there! It was delicious and had a generous amount of banana in there. The ice cream was excellent quality, but I feel like for a cookies and cream flavour, it didn't have enough cookie bits running through it. The whole dessert also didn't have many cookie bits in it either, which was a bit of a disappointment. I still enjoyed the dessert though. Keen to return to try the cookie trifle.

This ice cream is the best! I told tourists from Germany and Switzerland about it and they were delighted and one couple said it was the best they ever had. Once you eat their ice cream, you won't eat the other, artificially flavoured and made from powder any more. The flavours are natural and subtle, yet real and the price is justified. The chocolate they dip your cone in, is delicious! I tried the chocolate noir and it reminded me how chocolate ice cream tasted when I was a child, I hope they consistently produce this forever!

Everything was heavenly and a generous offering, but I don't like the fact that there's no caramel sauce available, who doesn't like caramel? The atmosphere can get sickly romantic and it gets uber busy at night, but don't let that stop you fulfilling your sweet tooth's desire. Recently tried the amazing looking milkshakes, overpriced and looks better than it tastes imo.
St Louis is one of those places I end up when I'm out with friends and we have last minute a craving for something sweet. If we're not at San Churros, then we're here. One of my favourite things to order is their fondue which is super easy to share and always satisfying.
Oh dessert bars, it has been a while! For a Tuesday night this place was pumping. We ordered a variety of waffles. The waffles themselves were soft, not overly doughy and tasted good with the dulche de leche and melted chocolate. Would have enjoyed them more if they were slightly warmer. For $15 I guess they're reasonable serving sizes and they catered to our annoying "can I change the ice-cream on this" orders and had a good range of choices. The ice-cream was somewhat icey in texture, maybe thats because I got the top of the batch.. But you'll be forgiven, St Louis!
When ur after a sweet delight a little later in the night St Louis is the place that's right! 😁 Sweet and delicious, great chai and hot chocolates, Ferrero waffle has a nice touch with a Ferrero on top and the peanut butter oreo crepe is SimpLy deelish! I will keep coming till I try the whole menu!

No matter what the weather is, rain or shine, you just cant say no to good desserts. St Louis has got everything from ice creams to churros and even coffee. The decor of the place is so well put, with the blooming atmosphere perfect for a late night dessert. The staffs were extremely friendly, helping out customers finding seats as soon as they walked in. Overall, there is not much to say about St Lousis except that is really damn good. Never have I ever been let down by them, everything is on point.

Nice late night dessert place. Friendly staffs would always try to help with seats and orders. Can be very crowded and would need to queue at times. Has a good selection of ice creams, fine quality of ice cream. One of the signature dessert there is the ooh la la.. Which look like chocolate lava cake, oozing of jam served with milk chocolate and a scoop of wild strawberry ice cream. That's a decent and good size for one person dessert. Price is quite reasonable. Have to give a big compliment to the gluten free orange cake - absolutely delicious. The orange cake served with cream. It is baked with almond slices and finish off with a dust of icing sugar. Great selection of non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks... Some of the chocolate or salted caramel drinks can be a bit overly sweet but in general it is a good place to visit. Overall, it can be an icing on the cake for the night.
I am addicted to this place. I can not stop eating the ice cream and desserts - it's my guilty indulgence. All time favourite is the St. Louis fondue - best of all worlds with churros, waffle, profiteroles and strawberries with melted chocolate. I add ice cream!! The BEST! Unfortunately can't recommend only one ice cream flavour as they are all divine. Definitely worth a visit (or many!)

St Louie on Gouger Street is my favourite ice-cream shop in Adelaide. They only have a few flavours but they do those ones well. My current favourite flavour is nutella and peanut butter. You can have your cone dipped in Nutella for FREE! Amazing. My only criticism are: the shop is tiny so it's near impossible to get a seat and they have a whipped cream machine, which is the best thing ever, I love cream but 95% of the time (and I go there a lot) the machine isn't working and it's so upsetting. Other than than CHECK IT OUT!
Their Churros are my FAVORITE churros so far in Adelaide! Not only the tastes but the crunchiness and tenderness inside the churro is the best!! (All my friend agreed!) . The Ice cream is really good! You will not disappointed once you try them! Friendly and nice staff! ❤️👍🏼👍🏼
This is one of my favourite dessert cafes in the city. Recently had the Churros Martini. Freshly made, crispy pieces of sugarcoated churros balanced around the rim of a tall martini glass which was filled with warm, thick dulche de leche, slices of banana and topped with a generous scoop of creamy french vanilla ice cream. It was delicious (just like anything else I've had there). They also have a tempting range of ice cream and fresh pastries on display.

Sometimes it's busy where you have to wait a few minutes for a table to clear up but I'm not an impatient person so I don't mind waiting. It's quick and easy if you just want ice cream. There's a selection of sugary goodness to choose from; I love coming here for a quick sugar fix!

Things that make you go mmmmmmmm!. Wow - so don't plan any weigh ins, calorie counting or conversations when you head here - it's divine, sweet pure indulgence that will leave you speechless! Great portions and sharing plates, a little on the expensive side but worth it.
I like it. Been back 3x times now. The only let down is the seating and poor service, it was hard to accommodate groups of 4 and above. Waiting for a table on Fri-Sun night is really frustrating.

Nice Almond and Apricot Frozen Yoghurt. Mid Sunday afternoon and this little dessert bar in Gouger St. was just what I was looking for. The ice cream range was small and mostly uninspiring until I spied the almond and apricot yoghurt , apricot being my favourite fruit flavour. It was great, smooth and with subtle flavours. The other flavour I tried, chocolate ice cream, was nothing special. They also serve freshly made churros with a range of flavours and some cakes, plus coffee. Welcome after the ice cream were 2 serve-your-self water dispensers with real lemon and mint. Very nice.
Recommended if you are an apricot nut or maybe fancy a churro.

BEST IN ADELAIDE!. My favourite dessert spot!!! Churro's are seriously the BEST in Adelaide.... and I have tried maaaany! Super fresh, thin and crispy on the outside and beautiful and light on the inside. Unlike San Churros and the more commercialized venues around, these churros are freshly made rather than straight out the packet/freezer, and you can well and truly taste the difference! Drinks, ice cream and crepes are great also :)

The waffle basket is a must-have experience in Adelaide!. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon around 4pm. When most cafes were not busy, we had to wait for a table for an afternoon tea. It must have been good (that's our first impression). We got inside and sat down noticing everyone was enjoying themselves. Since there were not many tables, I thought it made sense that we had to wait. We started to explore the menu and check out the ice-cream booth to see which flavour we were going to order. We were like kids in a new candy shop. Hm ... haven't seen this flavour and haven't heard of that one either ... which one should we choose? I would need a photographic memory to remember the names of all the flavours. They were inspiringly sophisticated. I decided to order the waffle basket since it included 3 scoops of ice-cream of any flavour and a waffle basket. Little did I know that the excitement would begin at ordering. "Would you like to dip the basket in nutella sauce?" "Oh yes of course" Then I saw this huge plain waffle basket dipped into the most luscious sauce. Hm ... Yum ... Can't wait. Then, I wittingly announced my choices of flavours: Baileys & Scorched Almond, Chocolate Noir & Salted Caramel thinking that the my plate is ready. "Would you like chocolate sauce or caramel sauce over the ice-cream?" Believe it or not, I said No first and then I saw how great it looked with the other customers' basket. I hurried to ask for the sauce. My request was kindly attended. The basket didn't disappoint. The only let down was the Baileys and Scorched Almond probably due to my choice of Chocolate Noir & Salted Caramel overpowered the mild flavoured Baileys. Otherwise, I would score this dessert 10/10. Btw, the service was great too. Can't fault it.
Best dessert bar on Gouger. Although Gouger Street has been popular for Asian food, some sneaky dessert bars have made an appearance which can sometimes be hard to find. St Louis' is no exception with its skinny, basic but classy facade hiding at the 'food end' of Gouger, closer to Victoria Square. Two friends and I escaped the wintery weather after a late night Uni exam and we were pleased to be seated inside almost immediately considering it was so busy inside and out. I'm not a total dessert fanatic but the strawberry waffles were amazing. My first taste of churro ever (I know, right) went down a treat with chocolate dipping sauce. My friends both had the 'sweet amalia chocolate journey' and it went down a treat. St Louis is slightly more expensive than other places on Gouger but its worth it for the service, the atmosphere and the taste. Will definitely be going back again!
AMAZING WAFFLES. I ordered the Chocolate Belgium waffles with maple syrup and nutella, topped with honey roasted nuts, choc chips and banana.
I had it with the peanut butter-cookie crunch ice cream (not nutella which it comes with) and a side of peanut butter (It was cheat night :P ) and it was probably one of the most amazing desserts i've ever had!
every element tasted amazing and flavoursome. It wasn't sickly as the salty peanut butter balanced that out.
There were little chocolate chips on the plate too which were amazing and added texture to the dish.
I would 10000% come back here every day if i could!!
Amazing crepes!. Best crepes ever! They were extremely busy, not one seat left and still served us in good time. My partner had the chocolate cake and said it was ok, nothing too special. Cant wait to go back and try the brownies!

Hit and miss. The title says it all. I've been here quite a few times and you can't go wrong with their peanut butter waffle - so delicious! However, their other offerings come down to personal preference. Do not - I repeat, *do not* - order the churros. If you want better churros, go to San Churro down the street. Even with the fondue, their churros are dry and tasteless. Seating is available in and outdoors but is very limited, not to mention very tight if you happen to get an inside table. Expect a line-up on Friday and Saturday nights, great for visiting during the day after lunch. Service is average - friend I dined with did not receive their coffee (come on, it's a coffee) by the time we had finished our dessert. This was also during the day time, a relatively quiet period. They only started to make it then. Very average place, but being one of the few late-night dessert bars on Gouger st keeps me coming back.

Came here yesterday and it was delicious!! The table service was nothing special but the good definitely made up for it. I ordered the banana nutty waffle and it was soooo yummy. The food and drinks are priced well for what they are :) will definitely be back for more
Having read a lot of good and some not so good reviews of this place I decided to check it out. The service was really good and we didn't have to wait for a seat however we went along on a Sunday afternoon. The ice cream was amazing I had the sour cherry and white chocolate as well as the salted caramel and both were creamy and flavoursome. They were as part of a dessert plate and my friend had the brownie with small milk shake and the salted caramel ice cream as well and loved it.
Been here a couple of times again after the hype has died down. Still limited spaces but less of a wait now. Had their waffles noir this time around which was soggy but only because it was laced with syrup. Having it with the combination of chocolate icecream was amazing. My friend had their churros fondue which was abundant and looks really good as well. We also tried their peanut butter milkshake!! I have to say, they serve one of the best ice creams in Adelaide. The flavours came bursting through! Definately a must if you're dining in gouger! :)

Great little spot!. Delicious desserts and a great range of ice creams. Only downside is they don't take bookings and are almost always busy - there isn't much room inside. But if you can secure a spot it's definitely worth a try. Coffees are good too.
I loved this place great coffee ice cream and desert the only negative I could find about the place was its size there not a lot of room inside ,there is seating inside and out which makes it a great little spot to chill out in the warmer months my overall rating would be an 8 out of 10

Absolutely love it! Staffs are always so incredibly lovely and dessert choices are excellent. Being a fan of churros myself, I definitely love the St Louis churros much better than San Churros because it's definitely less oily and bigger portions to fill you up. It's reasonably priced and the chocolate waffles are to die for. The friendly manager and staffs are always happy to accommodate for seats and handles busy weekends extremely well. Definitely recommended!

I visited St Louis tonight with a group of friends and we really liked it. The waffles were great, it was refreshing to see a sharp and elegant fit out as opposed to the many dessert 'holes' that have flooded the market.
Loved the atmosphere and the service.
And for the record... The Eftpos cord was just fine.
We ended up getting the 'Banana Crepes' and 'Nutella Waffle' the crepes was a tad average according the misses. However the nutella waffle was mouth watering. The waffle had enough crunch with every bite with the nutella drizzle and ice cream all complemented the waffle at extreme highs.
The savoury was awesome! There was a generous amount of salmon in the crepe, however when cut in half, we found most of salmon was distrubuted on one side, not a problem unless sharing. Inside is also fresh avocado and to the side of the plate is some fresh greens. Not sure what was on the side plate, but think it was sour cream ??? But it added a nice flavour to the crepe.

Pretty sure the dessert craze will not wane, looking at the continual stream of dessert bars being opened around Adelaide. Very new to the scene is St Louis House of Fine Ice Cream and Desserts trading down the Victoria Square end of Gouger St at just one week old. On Saturday night this place was bustling with people attracted to the crowds like moths to light – or should I say ants to sugar? Fancy eh? As their name suggest, St Louis offers specialty ice cream made locally and a range of desserts including churros, crepes and tasting platters. Tonight ice cream was on the menu given their name sake (notice ice cream comes before desserts?).
Dessert houses are popping up everywhere in Adelaide, the trend is definitely here. After a visit to Go In Hotpot on a Friday night we decided it was time to try this new place out IF we can get a seat. Amazingly we got a table for four! St Louis House of Fine Ice Cream and Dessert is the new addition to Gouger Street and already it is packed. I loved the decor and set up inside but be warned, it is a little cramp inside and my chair did suffer a few kicks. First I was wowed by the different ice cream flavours on display, then someone gave me the menu and now I have a real hard time deciding what I wanted. I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! After a slow and not very filling dindins with C at Bartons , we headed into the CBD to check out the new dessert joint for some good ol’ ice cream! Baileys and scorched almond ice cream; 1 scoop $5.00 With so many flavours to choose from and a stomach that is NOT a bottomless pit, I chose the Baileys and scorched almond over the cafe , chocolate mint , honey and fig , salted caramel and wild strawberry . Good choice cause it was yummyyyyyyy!! So creamy, so smooth, so Baileys-ey with real scorched almonds with every mouthful! I now have multiple excuses to return back and try out their other mouth watering flavours. Mmmm… ice cream~ Churros and dipping chocolate I also ordered a churro ($2.00) and they kindly gave me an extra two! Score! I can’t say that they’re the most pretty looking things… but they tasted aiight. Just aiight… a bit heavy handed on the cinnamon I thought! Crepes with nutella, strawberries and a scoop of vanilla ice
