Review Burp Killer Burritos - Adelaide

Brittany
From Melbourne and in Adelaide for a short visit. In a craving for nachos so went straight here for take away food. The staff was a sweet friendly boy who has got the loveliest personality. Must say best staff I've ever met til now. There's only him at the time cause his manager was on break. He kept apologizing to other guests and took care of my order very well. Giant burrito, heaps of nachos. Cool design. Sweet staff. Best Mexican restaurant for me now 😁 Gonna miss it when going back to Melb. P/s: They got a little cute thing that eat change on the bar which was funny 😂

Quirky little place. Burritos are OK if a little sloppy and lacking in meat . Looks a bit tacky when you first walk in but it's clean and the staff were friendly. They do student discount. They also sell bottle beer.

Best burritos going around, always hot and delicious. Their cheesy fries are my saving grace! Absolute favourite comfort food. Cannot fault their meals and the customer service is amazing. Always so friendly and helpful! If you're in the city or within the uber eats range absolutely give them a go and you will not be dissapointed! Keep up the good work guys!

Given its on Hindley St, the restaurant is more set up for a high turn over of people on a Friday and Saturday night. Nothing flash to look at, but its not about the ambiance. It's about those burritos, and they are excellent. Totally recommended for a great feed.

Best burrito place I’ve been too, and I’ve been to quite a few. A real shame that it’s in the city though as I rarely go there. The ingredients are always fresh and I’ve never had any problems. They have quite a large menu selection so you’ll definitely find something to eat.

Had a chicken burrito, wasn't that great. It had some grit, maybe the lettuce wasn't clean. The dining area also could be better. The air conditioner kept blowing my napkin away. On a previous visit I had nachos. They were underwelming. I won't be going back for more.

Now that was a good feed. I was looking for a tasty meal on a miserable rainy Adelaide night. The ability to build a burrito like a subway sub is awesome. It is great to choose exactly what went into my burrito. The girl who served us as friendly and made one tops burrito. When she first put it on the table I was worried it looked a little small, but ounce I picked it up, all fears where gone. It was the perfect size to fill a big guy like me. The large is just perfect. And the chili con carne was great. I will be coming back next time I am in Adelaide.

Probably one of the worst meals of my life. Ordered through uber eats, order was delayed about 6 times and took them about 80 minutes to make 2 burritos. Not sure why it took so long because they burritos were tiny and missing half their ingredients. Ordered some chili fries too and almost broke up with my boyfriend fighting over the three chips that they gave us. But charged us $12. Makes sense.

Easily the best takeaway burrito place. Best salsa selection, plenty of chilli sauce and more
Lori Poltermann
Just popped in to get a burrito as Im from out of town and needed something to eat on the go. Served by Jackson, he is an asset to your company. Best service Ive had while in town. Please pass on my thoughts on his service and tell him go dees

One of the staff was super racist and rude! Even a single star is too much for their service!

Worst burrito I've ever had! I usually get Zambreos but my co workers were getting Uber eats for lunch so I thought I'd try Burp. I got a vegan burrito and the whole thing fell apart, was soggy and drenched in what looked and tasted like dish water! It was bland as anything, even though I got the chili lime sauce. NOT NOW, NOT IN 10 YEARS!

I brought my kids in tonight for the 1st time for 2 4 1 taco tuesday and I purchased a Burrito with my Entertainment Book. The Burrito was so soggy I couldnt eat it properly like you should be able to and it had no flavour at all except tomato. Very Very Dissapointing! $21.90 later......

Top notch mexican grub for lunch. Very friendly staff
Jacqui Giles
Tacos were the best! So fresh and so flavoursome! Definitely coming back!

Worst Mexican food.. ordered uber eats and they didn't put any guacamole or sour cream which was additional charges. The food was salty and soggy corn chips on my nachos. Do not bother eating here!
Sebastian Lipka
Went to the Hindley St store. A mate and i were the only people waiting in line. One of the three staff members acknowledged us and said they will be one sec. Over 5 mins passed after this point and all they were only arranging uber eats meals. Ended up just leaving the store after close to 8 mins waiting in line. Pretty pathetic.

I legitimately just had the best meal of my life!!
Sarina Del Fuego
Can't wait to get back here, it is our tour crews regular eatery every Fringe. The staff are delightful and great Mexican.
Debbie Patton
Best burrito I've had in South Australia 🇦🇺 if Triple D needs to put this place on their show

My go to for a pre footy feed! Authentic beef is the best. Excellent range of sauces. $5 tequila.
Carla Newbold
Staff are always friendly and food is good, especially the quesadillas :) oooh and the hots sauces
Craig Kegler
Food was very subpar, 'hot' sauce tasted of old chillies and drain water. Protein was dry and lacked any flavour whatsoever. The Lady who served me was polite but seemed very disinterested in preparing the order. Will not be going back.

Came for lunch on a Sunday, at 130 pm, and they had no beans, nor Chicken or pork!!! Not sure how they expect to run an eatery with no ingredients. The wrapping station was filthy. We ordered tender beef. I did not enjoy the burrito at all. I do not like spice and the rice had some kick to it. Do yourself a favour and go eat at Guzman y Gomez which is a few shops away.

There's nothing I love more than fresh, tasty, authentic food that's not an assault on your wallet and Burp ticks all of these boxes. Whenever I'm in Adelaide, I'll go to Burp for a burrito and I'm always impressed with the incredibly generous portion sizes, great tasting food, and friendly staff. This evening while I had the hankering for nacho's, I thought my best bet would be Burp... (I should mention I have a pet peeve for mediocre nachos, and I'm rarely impressed when ordering them in restaurants or Mexican take-out joints.) While not surprised, I received a heaping stack of tortilla chips layered with tasty slow-cooked beef, cheese, beans, and jalapenos. They also had enough sour cream and guac beside them to sink a battleship which wasn't an extra charge, because in all honesty who doesn't like generous toppings? I am totally delighted, satisfied and impressed. They are the best nachos at the lowest price I've ever had the pleasure of eating. While Burp has a good atmosphere, it is a bit of a hole in the wall, but that said you don't go for the decor.

I ended up with a very fat burrito!! They have loads of options so there is something for everyone and you can customize your burrito the way that you like it. Everything looked fresh. if you want a beer or a margarita to go with it these are also available.

I've only been here once and you don't really get that much out of this place if you're looking for some fancy Mexican place to dine at. Burp Burritos is convenient for workers and people who want a late night feed on Mexican takeaway.

Overall, the quesadilla I got tasted pretty good and was of a decent portion size. Have yet to come here for the burritos so hopefully they're just as decent.

Friends and I always come here when we go to the city and we LOVE IT! Bring student ID card for discount and try the burritos they're so good. Staff are always generous with the amount of toppings they put in. I would say they should renovate the store (mostly the front area) to make it more appealing.
Becky
I always get their tacos on Tuesday because it was cheaper. The portion was alright and two of it will make me full. Overall it was alright, a bit pricey without the taco Tuesday deal

The burrito was alright could do with more zing even a bit more salt. We asked for the chilli chessy fries, mistaking the chilli to be chilli sauce and not the mexican chilli. However we still confirmed is everything veg and they said yes, what we got was beef mince instead. Initially they said yes we are more than happy to change it for you will take us 10 minutes, a few minutes later the girl comes up and goes are sure you want to change it?? She didn't look she wanted to exchange we just left it. Wish they were more attentive or better informed about the food they served.

i love burp burritos so much, but PLEASE get rid of the thing at the door that says 'TACOS TACOS' everytime someone walks in, its super annoying

If you want to watch endless reruns of the Three Amigos (got to love Chevy Chase) and eat uber tasty Mexican takeaway Burp Burittos at the safe end of Hindley Street is the place to go.

Easy fast lunch thats a bit of fun :).
Nora
Ok burritos, terrible service.. The burritos here are pretty good, if a little expensive, but the service is terrible. Uninterested, vacant teens, rolling their eyes at every request. Ordering was quite an ordeal for everyone involved unfortunately.
Nikki77
Best Burritos. Best Burritos I have had in a long time, keep up the good work

This oa place looked promising. And claims to have the best cheesey fries in town. Well, the burrito ain't bad but why so damn small ... for that price? Woe the Chinese fries is just sad. Nothing but molten white too ... erk.

This place is amazing!!!! I am 100% addicted to it all, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, salad boxes, margharitas!! Yummm!!! Delicious, fast food and friendly staff!

Burping the night away Azza. How can you pass up the chance to drink a margherita from a massive cocktail glass full to the top , funky and quirky little place with great options for mexican spirits and beer. You can even play battle ship or checkers while your eating great little novelty that makes you want to stay and enjoy the company of your mates while having a few tequila slammers.

I visit here quiet often. L.... I visit here quiet often.
Love a place with good customer service, it's a must.
The food here is great, on the run or for a quick meal before a night out.

BE AWARE OF GOOD FOOD!. Burp is a quirky mexican themed restaurant selling good quality tucker at value for money prices. Burp does not pretend to be anything it is not. Burp has always been consistently good ...Try it out.....Its a fun place!!! YAAAAY!

-----09 Jun, 2014-----

Paul. This place is funny....it has great atmosphere and good wholesome mexican tucker....how can u go wrong.....friendly helpful staff all for a decent price....worth every cent!

Wow.. You can defiantly taste the freshness of the salads here, why I previously ate zumbrero's I have no idea, great atmosphere and cool social lounge out back.. Highly recommend this place

I am amazed at the great food I had at Burp today. The Burrito was so fresh and filling. The staff were so helpful and patient as I tried to decide what to eat! The shop that mainly does take a way but you can eat in was clean and cosy. I even had a wine with my lunch.I am on a pension and found the price very reasonable and look forward to be going back again soon.Thank you to all, you made my day :-)
Laura
Killer Burritos, because they'll probably kill you.. I should have known not to bother after the girl serving had to assure me that the beans just LOOKED like they had been there for a week, that they were actually 'so good'. I have never tasted anything so bland in my life... JalapeĂąos should not be bland. The tortilla was dry, the rice was dry, the black beans were beyond dry. The cook spent most of the time smoking. Not one ingredient looked like it was less than a day old. Luckily I went for the vego option - that meat surely would have written me off today (top layer on the Bain Marie was blackened from - you guessed it - dryness).

Shite. Poor mans zambrero but more expensive. No taste, should have listened to the other reviewers.

Awesome Quesadilla. Lovedddd the veg Quesadilla here. Totally filled with great ingredients such as yellow rice, salsa sauce, black beans, red kidney beans, corn, tomato and cheese. Was truly worth the money. I had the largest wrap they had (12" I guess). It filled my stomach for a good lunch. Definitely visiting here again :) Cheers (y)

Well I think I had the smallest burrito ever today. I was most disappointed with the tiny amount of fillings I really didn't believe I got my $8.50 worth and felt hungry afterwards. The decor isn't inviting and doesn't encourage av second visit. Having eaten there before I should have learnt my lesson!!!

Service was good but food was cold and tasteless. Was very disappointed and will not be returning.

AMAZING. Such amazing food and friendly staff - even when we rock up with large staff orders. Burritos are always packed and flavoursome. Always a return customer - almost weekly.
Simon Ryan
Great staff and nice food. Love going back.

Excellent service this Monday for reasonably priced food. Made to feel welcome. Will come again.

The worst nachos I have ever had, cold and tasteless
Vicky Brooks
Great burritos! GF too! Yum.

Terrible. Slow service, cold and flavourless burrito means that I won't be coming back here. Disappointing because it could be so good - Gomez chain manages it.

I certainly burped at Burp!. This is an eclectic little fast food Tex Mex shop. I loved the Mexican wrestlers that were part of the decor and the hipster staff were very pleasant. I really enjoyed my nachos and my friends enjoyed their burritos. It was quick, simple food so don't expect it to be an authentic Mexican restaurant as it is not. This is just a great place to hang out at lunch or perhaps afterwork to sample one of their HUGE margaritas. They also had a great selection of international drinks including Mexican soda which were delicious I highly recommend the guava or pineapple ones.

We asked for a partial refund for our meals as the waitress had bought out our meals without extra toppings that we paid for. We had already eaten the meals when we asked. The owner soon came out and was really rude to me and my girlfriend about the situation and refused to provide a refund because we already ate our meals. Really not satisfied with the sh*t customer service.

The worst meal I have bought. 'Fresh' it was not.

Reading some reviews there's just no please people. It's not a restaurant, it's a place for a quick fresh meal. We thought it was great based on what we paid. Girls that served us were friendly & helpful & the food was tasteful and fresh. A great alternative to Subway, Maccas, Wokinabox etc. Def worth a visit

Fast & Hot!. FANTASTICO!

Awesome burritos bursting with fresh ingredients and that beautifully cooked beef steak! Only ever been disappointed once but normally always fresh and tasty. Oh and they are brilliant value and always some of the friendliest service.

OKAY FOR A CHEAP LUNCH. This place doesn’t do much for me, it’s like the McDonalds of Mexican food with the flavours being a bit bland and boring. It’s certainly not bad but considering how tasty burritos can be I find this place quite disappointing and probably won’t be back. I guess it’s ideally suited for lunch time being reasonably healthy, quick and cheap.

Tastes like domino pizza toppings in a tortilla. Bland, flavourless beans, cheap chicken and bacon, hot sauce tastes artificial, the list goes on.... Dreadful burrito. Given the quality of ingredients I can't imagine the other menu items are much better. Go to Zambrero instead. Won't be coming back here.

Pretty healthy fast food. I love this place, we go there all the time and it's nice and fresh and healthy (mostly). I love that they have vegan options but if you order with someone who is having meat, they use the same gloves to make both burritos. It would be better if they made the vegan one first and then the meat one, or else made the meat one, changed gloves, and then made the vegan one. But I can forgive them for that, the burritos are very filling and great! Love it.
John Carver
Tasty Mexican food place much like a few others around Adelaide. Tasty reasonable price and quick. Nothing amazing but a good fast feed that can be good for you to boot.
Dominic Svensson
Very bland burritos. And the meat seems pretty poor quality. Not much choice for burritos in Adelaide though
Makoto Kamei
Didn't like it. I had a large chicken burrito with rice, pinto beans, spicy salsa, corn, guacamole, sour cream and cheese. I did not like it as it simply did not have much taste. "Spicy" salsa was not spicy. Chicken lacked the taste; not sure if it was seasoned at all. I was hoping for some cilantro and citrus zing but found none. Tortilla was not toasted either. I ate it all because I paid for it. At least I got full on it as it was quite large.

The burritos I've had here are far better than any I've had in Adelaide's Mexican restaurants. Plus the have Cherry Coke. Very yummy and great for lunch.
LenJet
No good at all. Had the burrito and shared some nachos... horrible. Virtually no meat and over done with the cheese. The nachos were burnt on the outside and the cheese barely melted on top and still in tact under the semi melted skin.

Reduced quality. Burp used to serve best Mexican ever and was my favourite spot. From last two visits ( 1 month apart) i noticed that their quality level has reduced.
There were mush less fillings in burritos and they saved big time on toppings, completely eliminating most of them without asking.
Even the beans were not properly cooked and had crunch in it.
I didn't like that at all.
It used to be my favourite spot but they have made few changes in staff, got rid of good old ones. New staff is all about saving and don't mind reducing the quality of food they offer.
Very sad indeed. I am not sure if i will be going there again, especially since beans were undercooked and as we know, it can be poisionous if not cooked properly.

Most lunchtime bang for your buck. This is the best lunch you can get on the east end of Hindley Street. For $8.90 you get an absolutely pregnant Burrito full of anything you want. It's next to a Subway and makes me wonder why anyone would go there instead of getting a vegetarian or Chicken Burrito at Burp.
Louise George
The worst burrito I have ever eaten.. I took two bites it wasn't worth eating any more.

Friendly and Quick!. I love Mexican, I love watching food come together quickly especially in the efficiency of the subway-style assembly line and I love good value so these three factors make Burp one of my favourite 'fast-food' spots.
Though located on the infamous strip of Hindley street, getting out of the chaos and hopping in for a $7.20 Burrito with a great choice of salads and fillings makes for a good meal! They have fun with the decor which is bright and bold while the seating areas were pretty clean considering the stain-ability on cushions. Staff are friendly and have a great sense of humour which is something that really shines through for me! 5/5!

Tasty, quick. Tasty and fast food with a quick brew (or two). Great for lunch!

Try the hot sauce!
Kitty Bootleg
Try the hot sauce! Pheeew! Proves that take away can be fun, tastey AND healthy.

Amazing burritos with the best salads ever! Recommend it!!

They’ve also simplified their menu since I last visited and their offerings are now more in line with Zambrero. Today, I ordered the Steak Taco and the Chilli Con Carne Taco.

As advertised, the burritos were killers. Well, the vegetarian one at least. The lunch buddy, an avid vegetable lover have been lamenting about this place since the start of the year and for some reason we have never made it here. Of course, she pounced on the vegetarian burritos. I lost tract of the contents of her burrito - she asked for a bit of everything. There was refried beans, rice, corn, salsa and then some more. I did not notice the absence of meat as the ingredients provided pure satisfaction of a good meal. The buddy finished the burrito in an alarming speed, alarming because she usually picks at her food forever. A true testament to how good the burrito was. I chose something a bit different with an Meat Lovers Carnivore enchilada, recognizing the protein obsession within me. There was a mixture of succulent pulled beef, chorizo, bacon and mince, all spiced and flavoursome. Th

Minestra Grilled polenta, sage mushrooms, peperonata and toast; 13.50 Polpette (Italian for rissoles): meat rissoles served in piadine with salad; $12.00 A local cafe serving Calabresi (a region in Southern Italy) home style and home grown food just popped up in the burbs of Prospect some months ago under the name of Minestra which translates to ‘soup’ in Italian. Don’t let the name fool you as they serve more than just soups here. Owner Sandy Cenin serves food using recipes from his grandma with meals catered for everyone: vegans, vegetarians and omnivores. N and I grabbed swung by over the weekend to grab a small bite. She ordered the grilled polenta whilst I opted for the rissoles. We weren’t too fond of the polenta and found the dish bland which needed extra seasoning from the trusty salt shaker on the communal table. The meat polpettes faired better, moist and juicy with subtle flavours. It felt as if I went to a friends house for lunch and their grandma did all the cooking – simp
