Went to the Oxford for lunch today. The meal was magnificent best meal I’ve had at a pub in a long time
Great service and yummy food. Loved every moment. Definitely a returning customer. You must try the duck dish! Yummo!!!!!! Great wine selection too
I have been drinking and eating in this pub for many years, it's has some ups an downs, but if you haven't been there for a while go for it, food is great.

Staff very friendly and food are delicious. I have been there many times. I believe they must have a very very good chefs. Love the way they created special menu. Super
Having not been to the Oxford Hotel for more than 10 years I was interested to see what it was like when it was suggested for after dinner cocktails. It was great! Fantastic atmosphere - they were playing great music and the cocktails were excellent.
While I am only judging The Oxford on their fried chicken burger, I feel they deserve a review. I have been here twice for this burger and twice I have had the best chicken burger in Adelaide.. Please do yourself a favour and try it for yourself!
The venue itself is awesome, completely decked out with amazing artwork from local artists. The employees are always so friendly and always happy to have a chat and a laugh, making you feel super comfortable at any given time. Never had a bad meal here, super reasonably priced and super delicious.

I have often walked by the Oxford and wondered what it would be like. Last week a group of us decided to try their meals out. The restaurant as such was more in their front bar, so it was loud and rowdy for weekend night. They have mismatched chairs and decor which I loved. The chair was very uncomfortable though. The lighting was low, but a small candle table allowed me to see the menu. I ordered a chicken burger and was absolutely delighted with the result. It was on a pitch black japanese roll, had southern fried chicken, aioli and salad, it was one of the yummiest burgers I have ever eaten in my life. The service was swift and friendly. I think having the restaurant in the front bar is a little odd.
Amazing place, amazing staff, AMAZING food! Love the ambience of this place and the art splashed across all of the walls!! Definitely looking forward to our next visit - thanks guys!
I took my mum out for lunch today and we both had the Super Food Salad. It was out of this world amazing!!! The staffs were all so friendly and helpful I would recommend them to anyone and will defiantly be coming back! Thank you for making a simple lunch out so enjoyable.
Took my wife out for dinner at the Oxford after hearing about the food from a friend. We shared an amazing salad and burger. Food was really really good, awesome range of beers too.
Adelaide is buzzing with excitement for the upcoming festival period. And North Adelaide’s The Oxford Hotel is joining that buzz with an exciting new menu.
We came in last night and was impressed with their selection of beers. We had the prancing pony red ale and the scotch fillet, it was amazing!! The service was great!! We can't wait to come back!!
Great service, the most delicious food, awesome variety and delectable cocktails.I tried the 'hard lemonade' on tap and it was amazing! I have not seen this anywhere else in Adelaide.I will definitely be returning to The Oxford Hotel!!!!!!
Visited on a Saturday afternoon with friends from interstate as we had heard about the extensive beer and wine list here. Was very happy with our delicious meals, especially the huge chicken schnitzel and the lovely salmon dish! Absolutely loved the atmosphere of this pub, bar staff were more than happy to help us choose the best craft beers from the menu. Will definitely visit again to check out some live music!
Came here on a quiet Thursday night, and was impressed with the quality of food, beers and service. We were promptly served by a girl who clearly knew the product and made a great recommendation. The steak was cooked perfectly which was matched well with the jelly (cheers to the waitress for that one). Overall it's a great spot for a humble feed. Only criticism was the acoustic guitarist. He was good but just intoxicating loud!
This hotel has been around North Adelaide for decades but only recently, it has undergone a revamp to bring new life into a once buzzing venue. Thanks to new owners, Grant and Anastasia Murray, who saw great potential in this iconic pub and wanted to blend the traditional with the modern, with a mix of artistic flair creating a sophisticated and warm space for people to meet and spend time together. This revival was the perfect event to showcase the love the owners have for great food, good art, live music and a place that inspires interesting conversations. On The Chopping Board (OTCB) was invited to be part of this crowd and to experience what the new Oxford has to offer. All food and beverages were provided by the venue.
The Oxford Hotel is back and Tempting Palates was invited to the revival launch. It's been brought back to life by new owners Grant and Anastasia Murray and it's a sight to see! An eclectic mix of artwork adorns the walls by local artists such as Jack Fran and Azzuro to name drop a few. While each room has a personality of its own, you instantly feel the new vibe in this historic building.
With the perfect balance between food, drinks, art and atmosphere, The Oxford Hotel has re-launched itself as the place to be in Adelaide. The newly renovated hotel located on the busy streets of North Adelaide combines an appreciation of creativity and good wine with good company and even better food. Unleashing a contemporary pub experience, the space is one that is to be lapped up by all age groups and friend circles. It’s evident that new owners, Grant and Anastasia Murray value everything that the Oxford Hotel stands for, creating an atmosphere full of laughter, live music from local acts, and a sense of comfort within the dimly lit walls, making it a stand out against other pubs in Adelaide.
New management, new fitout. Funky pub with plenty of craft tap beers at normal tap beer prices. Meals are great, had the chicken schnitzel burger which was insane. Friendly staff also.
Having been ignored at an Italian restaurant down the road we walked and and were immediately greeted with friendly and polite service. Our group was seated drinks orders promptly taken and delivered and food shortly after.
The food was of good quality we ordered a range from the ox burger kids meals and other fare. All good. Well done. Would highly recommend.
New menu!! I bloody love it. I had the steak sandwich and the next day I went back for the superfood salad. So reasonably priced as well. The new owners have done a really good job at turning this place around. Will be back (on the weekend for brunch)
Great Pub. Burgers are great. Steak sandwich with blue cheese top notch. Nuff said.
The burger was delicious and I got a free schooner of beer. What's not to love?
My parents frequent the Oxford for lunch so they took me there when I was visiting from interstate. It ticks all the boxes! Delicious food, friendly staff & quick service! I will be going back again!
Lunch Break. Went to The Oxford on my lunch break with a friend that works near me. The staff were very friendly & attentive, greeted upon entry of the Hotel and was very easy to get a table. The 1/2 price lunches were a great deal, only $20 for both the Fish & Chips and the Thai Beef Salad and they were both a decent size. Both meals were very tasty, the flavours in the salad were wonderful and im a huge fan of the Ox Fries. It didn't take long to recieve our meals. Very relaxed & easy-going atmosphere, will definitely be going again.
Weekday Lunch time menu, great choice and value
Great food. Had the rump steak cooked to perfection nice and tender
A wonderful atmosphere to catch up with friends, good selection of food and beverages, and friendly staff.
Great service from Leah. Absolutely loved the steak burger, everything about it was on point. Soft bun, tender steak, good guacamole, and the fries with the chilli salt were excellent. Good atmosphere, would definitely go back any time.
Visiting from Melbourne. Great food, beer staff, atmosphere. After bimbimbap won’t need to eat for a while :-)
Went there for a private function in the upstairs room and was not disappointed. 3 course meal was delicious. It was a set menue but they gave us options to choose from too (2 for entre, 3 for mains and 2 for dessert). Would go again.
Great meal here for lunch, we tried the house speciality Bibimbap and thoroughly recommend. Small but adequate menu, Huge craft beer selection and wine list with plenty of choice. Plenty of tables and seating options indoor & out. Initially prompt attention at the bar but then not offered menus after we said we want to eat.
Food was bangin and the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly!
Went in for an early dinner tonight (4.40 dinner didn't start until 5pm) with our 11 month old son.
Staff were great, tucked us away out the back with a high chair, even put the footy on for me.
The chef came out and confirmed our order as we had ordered well cooked veggies with the kids fish for bub, admittedly they still came out a little under cooked for him (usually good practice of not cremating veggies) but he happily chucked them in the tucker f*#ker for a couple of minutes and they were brilliant, the boy loved his rainbow trees and fish, probably something to do with a quick toss in salt and oil.
As for our mains,
The Mrs had the beef snitz Dianne sauce, chips + salad.
Snitty was a nice thickness, not overly bashed out and over crumbed, not over cooked either.
Dianne sauce was on point too!
I had the scotch fillet with veg, chats and jus.
Wow, steak was beautiful and tender, well rested, nicely seasoned, beautifully cooked.
The chats were nice and crispy and the hint of rosemary in the salt was a nice touch.
The jus was delicious (I personally prefer mine with a couple more pork trotters for the sticky mouth feel that lingers on your lips) but its good to see people doing good simple food not just cracking a packet of maltodextrin and saying it's jus!
You can actually see the tiny remnants of fat particles float ontop of the thin sauce.
The char grilled broccolini seasoned with evoo and salt was the kicker!
Good simple food, made from scratch 10/10!
By the look of the toilets (some hot water for hand washing would be nice) this place kicks on pretty good too, sure it will be rocking after ports win tonight!
Get in early and get yourself a bloody good feed, don't forget to tip the b.o.h staff and the glassy if you can, they are the forgotten heroes👍
Great drink selection and variety of beer on tap is good. Seems to be very popular with the boomers on Friday night 😄
Good stop for a beer after work or even after dinner.
Good front bar area!
Friendly staff and even though we didnt eat here the menu offering looks good so i think next time we could eat and drink👍
