Review Veggo Sizzle - Adelaide

Manmeet Chhabra
One of the best places in Adelaide to try vegan stuff. Went with family for a dinner and came back happy and satisfied. "Vegan chicken" was interesting and so was mango lassi. Chef Mittal did a fantastic job! The interior was well decorated giving a very welcoming feeling. Highly recommended.

Veggo Sizzle new home is bigger, brighter and roomier than their previous one in King William St. The restaurant now has toilet amenities which is a great plus. They still have the colourful cards hanging on their wall, hopefully we'll see more added quirky decor that adds to the interesting character of Veggo Sizzle like in their previous home. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, service was exceptional as always and food was scrumptious than ever. Their food portions are very generous. Their Eggplant Parmigiana was delicious, highly recommended and water is provided. Looking forward to try their other dishes next time. Thank you Veggo Sizzle for a great experience once again.

Location is great as it makes for easy parking. Service was friendly. We loved the roti with peanut sauce. My sizzling satay vegan chicken was delicious! Potato fries were good. Unfortunately the mango lassi wasn’t something I’d ever order from here again. Not even a hint of mango flavour in it. I would have given five star otherwise but the mango lassi was a let down. Prices are quite steep for what you get.

Amazing vegan food, generous portions (good for sharing!!) and excellent service! Interesting menu with a good range of Asian cuisine plus things like buffalo wings and eggplant parma, it was hard to order because everything sounded delicious.

Amazing Asian fusion vegan food with a wide range of options. A hidden gem for vegan people!

For vegans also requiring little to no oil or sugar, the chef and staff could not have been more accommodating or helpful, and the food was delicious! We tried the lentil salad, Green curry and vegetable curry. The Mango lassi was a real treat, and no alcohol beers were also enjoyed. Highly recommended!

Absolutely delicious!! Great friendly service. Can't wait to go back 🙂 So many options in the menu.

Every meal I’ve ever had from here has been fantastic. Lovely staff and atmosphere. I especially love the eggplant parmigiana, vegan chicken masala and Singapore noodles.

The kind of place you can go to stoned and not feel judged. Very diverse crowd enjoying their meals as I entered. Waited a while for my meal but was well worth it. Wouldn't have minded some crayons and a colouring book for the wait.

Had the best lunch here today. The food was delicious and professionally prepared with care and an awesome variety of subtle and strong flavours. So refreshing to find a place that serves very high quality vegetarian and vegan food, with an extensive menu. Thankyou. Highly recommended.

This place is fantastic for vegetarians and vegans. I have also had non-vegetarians friends who loved the food here. There is good variety of food and whatever I have tried has always been fantastic. Cant complain. I must have visited here more than 10 times and has become my favorite place in Adelaide. The staff is friendly as well.

Great menu with such a wide variety of really tempting dishes! And the food was amazing! Service was great too; staff were polite and friendly and definitely addes to the experience. And they have a nice, cozy place in an easily accessible area in the city centre. Perfect for date night.

Fantastic food 110%. Such a humble place and such welcoming staff . So worth the trip from the Barossa . To have several pages of vegetarian and vegan food, is wonderful

Oh my this was our first time here and we just loved everything. My son and I decided to do a whole range of appetizers to get the full vegan yummy experience and it didn't disappoint. Everything was a taste sensation from the fancy fries, veggie fritters, spicy bites right through to buffalo wings and the caramelized banana. We will be back by far this is my favourite place in Adelaide <3

The food is brilliant! Service is amazing!! When in Adelaide this has to be on your must try list!! Perfect for those who also have a gluten intollerence. My kids and I absolutely loved the food and can't wait to come back again!! Thank you guys for providing such a fantastic place to eat out as a family.

Love this place. Delicious food. Lovely staff. Great prices. Generous servings. Fantastic menu. To die for sauces. I leave there feeling impressed every single time I visit.

Amazing food, but I did find the menu a bit overwhelming. Would love to see more eco-friendly utensils....resuable chopsticks and straws.

The best vegan restaurant I have ever been to! Great food, great price and great staff! Excellent option for everybody! ;)

My hubby & I popped in for impromptu lunch. What a find. Cold miserable day, welcomed by a friendly waitress. Lunch came out on a sizzle plate. EGGPLANT SIZZLE, deep fried in the most amazing sauce that's ever passed my lips. Hubby was very impressed with his Thai noodle dish. My hot chocolate was delicious too, not a sweet cloyingly milky mug, but silky smooth nectar. We will definitely return, & it was right opposite the Tram stop in King William st south. Which was also very convenient for our trip home. Well done Veggo's.

A bit apprehensive as I had never heard of it & I'm a HUGE meat eater, but one of the best lunches I've had ! Satay roti rolls & the noodle 'sizzle' .. Absolutely delish! I'd recommend to everyone & plan on bringing my family for a birthday meal 😊

Tonight was my first time at veggo sizzle and I absolutely loved it. I had the vegan chicken stir fry for dinner and the mango dessert on a bed of sticky rice served with vegan ice cream. Both meals were delicious, vegetables were freshly cooked and crisp and dessert was lovely sweet and light and fluffy so not heavy on the tummy. I'm already trying to plan my next visit. Can't wait to come again, thankyou for a lovely meal. I love your little cosy restaurant with the photos and drawings, it's nice to come to a place with personality and homely feel.

Myself and good buddy Cath were at Veggo Sizzle last Sunday evening; my heavens above, what a find!! Great vibe, excellent food (I'm still daydreaming about the not-chicken satay sticks... need more of them!), most affordable! I can't wait to come back! See you this weekend, Veggo Sizzle!

I loved going to this place n recommended to so many of my frens. Me n my hubby used to dine in and our experience has been good. Two weeks back, for the first time we ordered take away and was really dissappointed. The food packed was so little and didnt taste as good. The curry in the cointainer was not even half filled and didnt taste good. I thought of ringing them and returning the food but we were starving n the weather was bad so cudnt make an effort to make another trip to return the food.

The food is consistently good and innovative, the staff friendly and the setting is cute. The menu is so surprisingly huge, it'll take me awhile to work through it! I wish it were on a quieter street (like Halifax) as the busyness of King George is the only downside! Try the satay skewers, the mango lassi, their shakes, spicy fries, buffalo chick'n...all yummy!

I took my younger sister here who ate meat at the time and she loved it and has since become a vegetarian. Honestly one of the best all Vegan restaurants I’ve tried so far, we ordered the sizzling satay dish and the Singapore noodles. Absolutely delishhh, definitely 5 stars 👌

Smelt heavily of oil as we entered. We waited 30mins for the first dish, and 10mins interval following.

3 Satay Tofu Skewers: The tofu was nicely fried, and the satay sauce was pretty sweet and had a nice spicy kick. I found this dish the most appetising.
Pad See Ew: not the best, it just tasted like some fried noodles with vegetables.Vegan Chicken Stir Fry: I enjoyed the vegan chicken stir fry, and found that the vegan chicken had a really nice chew, but my friends found it rubbery, as if its overcooked and has a tough exterior.Overall, all three dishes were on the sweeter side, rather than savoury. Really liked the skewers. For the quality of food produced, it isn't worth the money. The only things that prevent me from visiting again is the oil smell, and the sounds of the microwave being used constantly. Not sure what they are microwaving, but it would only mean that half the food isn't fresh.

It was the second time I go to this restaurant, the first was nice, but today I wanted to take my mum to nice vegan restaurant, the staff today was awful, very rude and unfriendly, even the food today was bland, even cost us over $18 each dish, won’t be back again, seriously, if people are treating their customers like that, they should not do any service job for life, totally ruined someone’s day.

Cute little place with a nice energy to it. Very friendly staff and delicious vegan meals. The tables are tiny which I liked because I was on a date and it was cute and intimate. I order regularly through uber eats and the food is always delicious and they always leave me a little note with a smiley face on the bag :) the eggplant sizzle (i think that's what it's called...) is delicious.

The menu here is amazingly vast! There were so many things that sounded really nice that we wanted to try. We ended up ordering the ravish roti roll which was absolutely delicious but came out a little bit cold, the satay chicken which was amazing (the texture of the 'chicken' was chewy but enjoyable but the sauce was to die for!) and the pineapple fried rice which was also really good. We also got two refreshers, one which was really nice and the other a bit watery but still ok. You get heaps of food for the price, service is friendly and fast, location is central and there's so much on the menu that you could eat every meal there for a week and still find something new.

A really small place but great vegan options. I tried the coconut pasta. It got a little sickening towards the end. However everyone else in the group enjoyed their meals. The staff are delightful and went above and beyond to be accomodating to us.

Fantastic vegan cafe in King William Street just near Halifax Street. Not very big so it pays to book. There are tables out on the street as well as inside. The staff were exceptionally friendly and the service fast and efficient. The menu choices were extensive and we appreciate the suggestions that the staff made. Serving sizes were generous and we were very happy with the quality of the food. This is a good choice for those looking for a vegan/vegetarian option. Parking can be a bit tricky but you can usually find one in the lanes off the side streets - watch out for time limits to avoid a parking ticket. Will definitely go again.

Amazing food, so fresh and tasty. I love the vegan mock chicken - it is incredible! The buffalo wings are so good, love the spicy sauce. The staff are so lovely too.

I would highly recommend this place!
I know there were some teething problems when it first opened, but for the past few months it has been consistently delicious!
Every dish I've tried has been good. The creamy pasta, the sizzle plates, the satay chikn, the curry...
Definitely worth a visit.

It was a great vego restaurant. The food was outstanding and the service was great. We have gone back over 5 times now. We ordered a lot of dishes including; Rati, coconut rice, chickpea curry and sizzling tofu. All dishes were very well cooked and very fresh. The vegetable fritters were also fantastic and would 100% recommend.

Visited a number of times, thai red curry is absolutely amazing, I love the buffalo wing and the sauce is very tangy, the house made veggie 'chicken' in the 'chicken' masala is so tasty and the staff are always friendly. Will be coming back soon. (Great GF options). I would like to see more lights on in the day, as without these lights, the venue does not look open. 5/5

This place is excellent, it's shocking that the popular reviews are both negative. It's cheap, it's delicious and it's healthy. Can't fault it

One of the hidden vegetarian delights of Adelaide. The menu is varied and I've never had a bad meal in over a dozen visits. Well priced and delivered with very friendly service.

Delicious food, large portion sizes and great prices. Everything came out hot and fresh, and also fast. The service was great, we were very well looked after. Already planning on what to order when we visit next!

We have been here three times, and thoroughly enjoyed the food each time. The buffalo wings and 'grumpy wedges' are standout, especially the condiments that are served with the wedges; the mayo tastes even better than I remember most egg-based mayonnaise tasting.

The main courses are also delicious. I would love to see the menu expand slightly further and offer even more takes on dishes I used to really enjoy.

We especially enjoyed the coleslaw today too (me, my partner and our dog)

I wish I could give this vegan restaurant a better review but it really was just awful. Given the enormously mixed reviews of Veggo Sizzle, I thought I'd try it out for myself.
Buffalo wings - drowned in so much tomato sauce that that's all I could taste.
Potato tornado - soggy and boring.
Chicken burger - the bun was so stale that we couldn't cut into it, let alone chew it. It was seriously rock-hard. It banged against the plate. The piece of plastic sauce-bottle lid in the burger was definitely the highlight, though.
Caesar salad - we were told that they didn't have Parmesan when the salad was ready to be brought out (way after we ordered). The vegan Parmesan was the reason we ordered it so we ordered wedges instead but the salad was already made so was brought out anyway, which was fine as we weren't going to be charged for it. The Caesar dressing was an oil and chia seed dressing; nothing like a Caesar dressing at all.
We decided to cancel the wedges after the rock-and-plastic burger - we didn't want to pay for even more food given the track record.

Given every item we ordered was between 'not good' and 'physically inedible', I don't know how anyone has had a good experience!

The only thing that was okay was the service; we weren't charged for our meals given how bad they were (though we did offer to pay) and the waiter was clearly embarrassed, but that doesn't make up for how bad everything else was.

I can't put this down to a bad night or a series of unfortunate events, given every item was not up to scratch.

I really don't like writing negative reviews when staff or owners are welcoming and friendly but the food wasn't good at all.

We offered the buffalo wings, tornado potato, "chicken" burger and Caesar salad.

Food came out quickly however the potato was soft not crunch how it should be. "Wings" we're good and I liked the buffalo sauce but I think that was more nostalgia factor.

When the plates were cleared they informed us they didn't have Parmesan for the salad and asked if another cheese was ok - I asked for the menu to pick something else instead. Before I had ordered the burger came out - the bun was hard and stale. I ordered wedges to replace the salad then they bought out the salad anyway with a different cheese for free (I guess they already made it?). I wouldn't have ordered them had I known we were still getting the salad which didn't even slightly resemble a caesar. When we found plastic in the burger we cancelled the rest of our order and asked for the bill.

The waiter told us there was no change even though we were willing to pay for what we had eaten. I've given half a point for this and the friendly service however it was a very confusing and disappointing dining experience so I would not recommend to go here.

amazing food, lovely people, best atmosphere - everything a vegan could want - great tapas style entries to share - you have to try the vegan chicken satay OMG!!!

Coffee is terrible, need to be improved. I feel I bought a cup of milk. Consider it's a new open cafe, 2.5 points is an encouragement. Hope next time will be better.

Vegetarian and Vegan eateries are all the rage at the moment as people look for healthier food options when dining out. The latest to join the ranks is Veggo Sizzle which is located close to the corner of King William and Halifax Streets. The menu offerings are simple and straight forward with a selection of appetisers, salads, BFS’s (Bread, Filling and Sauce), dips, sizzlers and desserts.
