An absolute treat right in the heart of Rundle Mall - be sure to pop in early on the afternoon on the weekend if you're interested in a meal such as the beef cheek, which are in limited numbers (and highly recommended). Order it alongside the numerous options of beverages available (incredible numbers of options available actually - great variety!) and top it off with the awesome brownies for dessert, and you'll be satisfied for the rest of the day!
A great ambience to enjoy a nice conversation with friends or intimate encounter with someone special, you'll be sure to enjoy this venue. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about their alcoholic range too, so don't be shy to ask for their advice.
To start the pineapple margarita is amazing. Possibly one of the best margaritas I have had. Wine menu is great. Food menu is great. Pizza was nice as was calamari and chicken popcorn. Staff were all very friendly. Great location and a cute place.
Came here for dinner as I was walking across the city and we (my husband and I) spotted this gem. The ambience is perfect for date night or a dine out with friends. The music played is tasteful.
Coming to food- we ordered the vegetarian pizza and it was 5stars!!
Friendly staff and helped us pick the best beer to compliment well with the pizza. Abhimanyu Khunger
Went to lindes llane today after going last week for mid day nibbles.last week we had a cheese platter and arancini balls, both were delicious.Today had arancini and popcorn chicken again both exellent. However we also ordered the margarita pizza to share,so disappointed it was so salty we could even eat.We made the waiter aware of this as we were paying and we still got charged in full for something inedible.A shame as we really liked it there and would have become regulars.
Lindes Lane is a place you can easily miss considering it's in a lane between Lorna Jane and Rundle Place, so pay attention to it when you walk past! With wooden seating outside, and a walk up the stairs to a cosy setting, you'll find Lindes Lane to be a classic wine bar providing delicious gourmet dishes as well.
The menu is not as expensive as I thought it would be, so the pricing is pretty alright. I ordered the Portobello Mushroom Pizza ($18) which I found to be quite tasty although I did think that it was a little pricey for something that was 9 inches. One of my friends ordered the Classic Margherita ($14) with extra toppings for $3 which she claimed to be tasty, while my other friend got Quinoa & Black Bean Burger w/ onion rings ($15) which she said was pretty good.
Overall, the food was of good standard and I could definitely see myself coming again.
Laneway by laneway, Adelaide grows into a Southern-style Melbournian metropolis (almost). I'm not protesting. Lindes Lane is the next to join the cult; cafe by day, wine bar by night (or during the day too if that's your thing) and they have an exhaustive list for your perusal. A limited but intriguing menu; we opted for the special mushroom risotto and salad of thinly roasted scotch fillet. Both were tasty lunch options, going well with our midday G&Ts, though both rather sebaceous and on the smaller side, leaving me not fully satisfied. Despite being down a lane off the monotonous bustlings of Rundle Mall, the atmosphere of this hangout is great; relaxing by day, trendy by night with more than welcoming bartenders.
Delighted to have been here on a rainy but warm Monday lunch time. Service was fabulous & we were very well attended to & as it was quiet we even got a brief audience with the chef. It was an occasion of wine at lunch today- wine and beer lists were very well put together.
L U N C H:
We shared popcorn chicken to start (um, yum?!) juicy chicken and such a crispy outer, served with spicy sriracha mayo which I'd never had before but was a very decent complement.
We then had the pork cheeks and chicken salad.
Chicken salad came with brown rice (some of which was fried to crisp, yum), dukkah and chèvre. The dukkah was spicy and the chicken was tender and flavourful. Generous amounts of chèvre this was not your average chicken salad.
Pork cheeks were absolutely melting, cooked in balsamic and came with lentils and rocket. Deep flavours and perfect serving sizes.
I can imagine and would love coming here for a drink and bar snacks after work. Great little place & asset to the city.
Finding Lindes Lane was a great discovery. It describes itself as a café, wine bar and lounge and you’ll find it in Lindes Lane that runs off Rundle Mall, right next to the famous Rundle Street Mall’s Mall’s Balls. It’s small, it’s casual, and chef James McRae is serving up fabulous food. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed my meal.
On a friday or saturday night go downstairs, find the door and go into the "secret room". Very cool vibe and lovely staff. A great range of local spirits. We snacked on sone arancini which were great. The other food coming out looked good too.
What I find special to Adelaide is the number of charming laneway restaurants and bars throughout the city. This past week, dbites was invited to the newest one in town, Lindes Lane. The laneway itself was tucked away from the busy Rundle Mall shopping strip, sitting across the Mall’s balls, unnoticed for quite some time. As of late last year, Lindes Lane set up camp and opened up as host to its weekend laneway street parties. Now they’re officially open to the public as a cafe, wine bar, and lounge six days a week.
Our next monthly group dinner took us to Lindes Lane just off Rundle Mall, Adelaide. We were all looking forward to this night but we weren't too sure what to expect as none of us had looked at the menu beforehand. Lindes Lane had us intrigued. It's always fun to try a new place that everyone in the group is equally excited about and we were certainly in for a tre at.
Fabulous lindes lane. Fabulous place for a chilled lunch. Had the delicious tuna sashimi nachos and a great Bloody Mary, unusually flavoured with coriander and lemongrass syrup. My husband loved his chorizo and potato pizza, but the tuna was the pick. Great ambience, staff and wine list. Sophisticated sanctuary away from the crowds and food malls of rundle mall. Highly recommend, Lee, Glenelg
