Panas Authentic Nepalese Restaurant is located within a small shopping complex on Henley Beach Road in Mile End. Run by a husband and wife team who are passionate about cooking, their goal is to bring fresh and authentic Nepalese flavours to your restaurant dining table. The menu is separated into vegetarian and non-vegetarian sections with so many unique dishes to choose from.
Fresh, flavoursome, well prepared, delicious food.
None of the food was bulked out with cheap additions nor was it very oily as much sub-continent food can be.
Do yourself a favour and go support an authentic, friendly, local restaurant.
If you liked Parwana, you'll go nuts over this place.
The moment we walked into this restaurant we could smell the delicious flavours wafting from the kitchen. Tasty food & courteous service made our dinner at Panas enjoyable. We will be back.
AMAZING! I'm ashamed that I hadn't been here earlier. I'm a local and this little place is by far the best in the hood. A hidden gem.
The staff incredible. The atmosphere sweet and the food, unreal.
Massive vegetarian menu which the two of us delved into, vego dumplings a highlight. We heard the jackfruit is unlike any other dish, we'll be getting into that next time.
We had some fun with non vego dishes also, the barra in red sauce and lamb choylo, served with perfect rice and wholemeal roti bread, it was a marriage. Get the pickle also.
Whatever you do, don't go past the chicken dumplings, so much flavour!
Beer? I love beer, and the Nepalese beer option, order it, it was perfectly match with the food.
Tell ya mates, head there, you won't regret it.
Thanks for having us!
Lovely vibe inside this authentic yet understated Nepalese restaurant. The service was lovely from what appeared to be a family owned business, but most importantly the food was amazing. Packed full of flavour everything was hard to fault! The cauliflower curry and vegetarian dumplings the highlight! Would also recommend having the nepalese beer just to get the side of roasted soya beans! Go check this place out while it remains a hidden gem.
So good!! I never would have noticed this little place tucked away in a group of shops but came across it when looking for places near a friend's house. The mushrooms in a nut paste was intriguing and just so tasty. Loved the fermented spicy spinach (side) and crispy beans (snack). Very unique. Everything we ordered was great, as was the service.
A place you can count on. We've been a few times and the hospitality and food have been amazing. Very relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and a delicious variety of meals. Worth a visit.
Fantastic. What a great little spot! Welcoming staff and fantastic good! They know the food and offer to tailor to your degree of hotness!! Want to sit in the cushions next time! Will be back!! Great !!
This place is a must to visit!. Absolutely amazing food.
They made all of my food salt free as I am on a special low sodium diet. Nothing was too much trouble.
Full of clean, fresh flavours.
A totally unpretentious, simple, small suburban place, with food made from the heart.
So authentic. Great value for money - lots of choice...
if you're looking for a new place to try, give this a go - it is vastly better food than many more well known restaurants..
Beautiful people......the chef and her staff are delightful and the place has a lovely homey feel
Great Value for Money. It's hard to find authentic nepalese in adelaide. We've dined at a few but they are all in the north adelaide area and fairly overpriced. Panas nepalese restaurant offered decent serving sizes of authentic dishes for a fraction of the price of say "taste of nepal" on the parade. Still, the quality of the ingredients is substandard to those of other nepalese restaurants as you might expect given the price. The service was very good and they offered to havd us taste test a spicy side dish for no additional cost in order to gague their level of spice before making the meals. More restaurants should really be doing this as the level of authenticity vs westernization is different for every restaurant you dine at.
A little nepalese is always good. If you are looking for Indian flavoured dishes, then this is not the restaurant.
If you want to sample Nepalese food, then this is the restaurant for you, the flavours are just like I remember when I visited Nepal, subtle flavours but very tasty, a good mixture for vegetarians as well as carnivours.
The service is friendly and laid back not over bearing like with some restaurants these days, the girls there hovering just in the back ground always willing to assist.
BYO wine (wine only standard in all restaurants) with a very reasonable corkage price, if you are looking for something other then a wine try a Nepalese beer, went perfect with our meal.
I am looking very much to my next visit, and am telling everyone I know to give this little restaurant a go.
Quick service ( for vegetarian), Cheerful staff, but NO BYO Beer..... Overall : 8.5/10. Cost : $43.00 for two people, without drinks. This reviewer is a keen Indian style home cook. We were expecting an Indian style experience, with a milder flavour palette, and that’s what we got. Service was Quick on an early Saturday night. We asked how long would food take ? and Chef said, “Not long.” which turned out to be true. We also asked for “9/10 for hotness” and got that too. We had a selection of vegetarian dishes – we don’t like waiting a long time, as is usual for slow cooked meat dishes ! We would have ordered just about ANY meat dish if it had been “ready to go”. The vegetarian options had to be pot luck for us, as the menu – like many such eateries – uses unfamiliar names and is confusingly detailed.
We also ordered “roti”, expecting something like an Indian Chappati, but ours came fried in oil – tasty but a bit rich. Our Basmati rice was perfectly cooked, tho a little bland, with zero add ons ( such as I make myself at home, so I am easily disappointed –I rarely eat rice better than my own).
There is a “chef’s special” [ a set of mixed dishes ]for $25.00 pp which might be a good idea, tho we spent a little less and were still quite well filled. I’d suggest putting this option at the top of the menu, especially for people unfamiliar with the style of food.
One disappointment was “ no BYO beer” [ despite this option being listed at the Urban Spoon profile] as I had brought my own home brew (!), so I chose water instead. My companion ordered House red wine ( $4.50 for a medium glass, out of a wine box, I presume). Corkage is $7.50 / wine bottle. (Is that expensive ? I think so ...)
Delicious authentic cuisine! Well priced, friendly, at tentative staff... Support thebarton & try it ASAP
Most authentic nepalese in Adelaide. Delightful hosts, great atmosphere! A must for anyone who loves nepalese food, and everyone else who have never tried it!
We ate there this evening , tucked away off Henley beach rd. this authentic Nepalese Restaurant has fresh , fabulous flavours , which we will be back for more!!! Thank u for the friendly , warm service with a smile :)
Local restaurant, Nepalese charm.. Panas. Got to love it. Great blend of passion for Nepalese culture and fresh food. Lovely people who care about their customers.
Great Food and Lovely Service. After driving past for the last 6 months, I finally got around to experiencing this quiet little haven of amazing food. The modest exterior is deceiving, located in a row of shops, yet once inside you are welcomed warmly like you would be into someones home. The beautiful lady that served us was very helpful when we became overwhelmed with the extensive menu, offering us suggestions and altering the chilli to our liking. The food was fantastic, special notes go to the veggie momo dumplings and the lamb with cauliflower, everything was incredibly delicious and we left very fat and happy. We will definitely be back soon.
Best traditional nepalese in adelaide. Very sweet couple run business with personable customer service. We will definately be back!
Wow. Amazing food. Best Nepalese I've ever had. The curries were all delicately spiced - mustard seed and citrus flavours - with as much chilli as you like. The "fish gravy" was a highlight but everything we had was great. Would definitely go back. SOON.
Nice Dinner. Impressive,we went for dinner and had a great meal, the chicken dumplings were great, the curries were very nice, the soy beans you get as free starter were amazing, little popping soy beans.Service was very good the chef came out and spoke to all the diners,Corkage is $5 a bottle, and they have a little corner where if you like you can dine in an authentic style.
Excellent and delicious authentic Nepalese cuisine. Highly recommend the carrot pudding dessert, it is truly sensational! The decor is beautiful and homogenous and the service friendly. Try it!
Excellent authentic food, great service and friendly staff. Highly recommend!
