We ate at Schnithouse on a whim after purchasing a groupon brunch voucher and boy were we impressed!
Even without the voucher, the menu is extremely good value. And you get a free espresso coffee or orange juice with each breakfast. The coffee was good quality - not that cheap nasty stuff.
The servings were HUGE. A good hearty breakfast with everything you could ask for. The was exactly why we were looking for on a rainy morning.
Not your typical cafe atmosphere but a good quality big breakfast if you’re feeling hungry and on a budget.
This is The first meal we had in Adelaide. Proper Environment and good service. The food is great, especially the chicken wings. Crispy and juicy! And we chooses lemon tequila. Perfect choice! Special & yum!Chips was cooked better than most ones served by other restaurants. Pizza was under my expectation. The bbq sauce was too strong. Not my type

First time here for dinner and the atmosphere was nice and cozy. It was a busy night but not overly so. Service was great, though towards the end of the meal it took a couple of back and forth to get table water for our table. However, it was getting busy so I suggest to grab table water as soon as you order your food so you can have something to drink as soon as possible.
The Mega Seafood Basket should be treated as a share platter for 2-3 people. I thought it would be okay to eat on its own but ended up having to take it away -- not due to the amount, but its high salt content. I'm not sure if that was the standard amount from what I had, but the fish, chips and salt and pepper squid was too much, the salad actually balanced the intensity for a little bit. Yes, they're all quite salty foods but I think the extra salt sprinkled throughout almost killed the whole platter. The prawns were okay and not as salty.
I think if the salt was toned down a bit on the basket, and if you were REALLY hungry, you'd be able to smash the basket. It's possible to finish it all by yourself, but the amount of salt did not help. I've had salt and pepper squid before in other restaurants and the squid wasn't as salty as the ones I've had tonight. Overall a great pick for a couple of friends to share, or by yourself if you need a big feed and if salt was reduced. Very tasty and bursts with flavor. Good aioli dip to go with the seafood and chips, and the salad as a palette cleanser and balance in between the seafood.
Had a slight issue with the jug of Coke provided -- it was quite diluted from the ice cubes at the top but fine by the middle of the jug down. I think there was some ice water scooped into the jug, which made the first three or so pours of the jug to taste quite terrible. I would recommend just getting the canned or bottle drinks if you want soft drinks, otherwise you'll have to chug some diluted soft drink for a bit before it actually tastes like the soft drink.
All in all a good first experience getting seafood. I would definitely come back to try the other items, I did not realize at first how much variety this restaurant offers.
Went there for a quick meal after flying in from Melbourne. Luckily hit happy hour. Pints of HB only 6 Bucks. Got a table straight away but after 30 minutes there was queue to order food and drinks.
Have to go to counter to order and maybe table service would be welcomed. Anyway ordered the pork Schnitzel with classic gravy. 2 generous pieces with a good salad and great chips. Could do with a "more Beer hall" decor and dress.
Would recommend it for a quick big meal and Beer.
Have only taken away dessert so my review is not reflective of the overall food quality. My choice was a slice of German apple cheesecake ($6.50). The cake had a biscuit base, a creamcheese-based cheesecake layer, diced cooked apples, topped with a layer of cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. The biscuit base was rather tasty, but was unfortunately a little soggy in some areas - I suspect the cake had been sitting in the cabinet for a while. Nonetheless, the cake was very yummy and completely satisfied my sweet cravings. Can't imagine how delicious it would have been if it was fresh!
Went to Schnithouse before a Fringe Show. We were running late and despite the place being insanely busy we were shown to a table quickly and had our menus within a minute. We chose quickly, ordered and had our schnitzels in less than 10 minutes. All the schitzels were well sized and well cooked and everyone enjoyed their meals. Great place for a quick filling meal before a show or the movies. Thanks Schnithouse!
I had the chicken "soprano" schnitzel. The schnitzel was thick and moist, not thinly bashed with a mound of breadcrumbs. Overall the meal was nice, however the salad could easy be replaced with some more chips. It was very busy when we arrived and it took some time to place our orders. That said, food was out very quickly which took us all by surprise considering how busy it was. The floor staff were a little bamboozled by the lunch hour rush, but it seems like the kitchen had it under control.
At first I was skeptical about this restaurant, as most restaurants on Rundle St have slipped down. We were greeted promptly and we were organized a table for 5 of us right away. I ordered a bull lazy schnitz, with bourbon sauce. My beef was cooked perfectly. The crumb was perfect, salad fresh and the sauce had the right balance of the sweetness of the bourbon. My other guest ordered the same, but his beef was a little rare for him. We asked if it can be cooked a little longer. To our surprise, he got a whole new meal! This would not happen in most other establishments! The only time we would be given a new meal is in the US, where it is common practice if your meal was not cooked to your liking. They have great friendly staff, always cheerful and attentive. Would definitely come back here and is on our list for dinner nights out!
Such good value, massive schnitzels for reasonable prices. Really good quality schnitzels, and a massive variety of toppings. Food is fast too. Service was amazing, for a busy Friday night! Impressive. We'll definitely be back!
If you want a schnitzel then this is the place every type of schnitzel you could want. Add that with a huge selection of beer on tap makes a great combo

Another friend recommendation... Schnit House. He's been praising this place ever since it opened up on Rundle Street, so decided to pay a visit. Their menu is filled with options and of course majority was schnitzels. Have to say though, they have one of the largest variety of schnitzels out there, so definitely a great place for schnitzel fans like me. They also have a long list of gravy/sauces which made decisions difficult. They also provide benefits to students as they offer a $9.90 chicken schnitzel special every Mondays.
I didn't have much time to decide on what i wanted to eat so i just went with the typical chicken schnitzel with Diane sauce. The schnitzel was insanely big that i had to loosen my belt after devouring it. The schnitzel was a tad different to the ones i normally have at Pubs/Cafes as this one was less crunchy, which i don't mind. The gravy was a little disappointing though. It was quite watery and didn't have much flavour even when eating the gravy by itself.
Other than that, Schnit House provides a great schnitzel experience to their customers and if you're a student having the $9.90 special, you really can't complain.

Uber Schnitz!! Heading into Rundle Street actually wanting a pizza, we drove past the Old Sliders, which is now the new Shnithouse! Yes, correct Shnithouse! Well having German heritage, I just had to check this place out immediately! Pizza was now a long forgotten memory! Octoberfest Celebrations were in full swing when we found a seat outside. We enjoyed some unexpected German entertainment with German knee slappers, dancers and bell ringers! All the staff were dressed in traditional dirndl and lederhosen! The menu is quite extensive and a bit eclectic. Heading straight for the Shnit menu we chose the Pile of Shnit! This gave us crumbed pork, fish, chicken, beef and a vego shnit, salad, chips and a choice of 3 sauces for $33.90! This is plenty for two people. This plate was simply delicious! Crunchy crumbing, fresh salad, golden chips and plenty of sauce, which I love! One of the sauces that we chose was the hot sauce and it was uber awesome! The name of it (Enema), however, is a little questionable! I observed more schnitties landing on tables and they all looked amazing! I will definately return just to get through some more of this uber yum menu. I would have liked to have seen some more German options on the menu, but if you love your schnitzel, then Shnithouse is a must visit destination!
New Schnitty area on Rundle st... The menu is just fascinating. Lots to choose from a variety of toppings and sauce from Mexican aloha to kilpatrik without oyster. There's also four different Schnitty to choose from - chicken, pork, fish and veg. I never thought having schnitzel can be fun. I never realise I would take so long to choose which topping and sauce to have. Staffs are very friendly, very helpful with menu. Good variety of drinks from wine, beer taps, fruit juices, coffee and etc etc. Food was served so fast... It was a gem service. Each Schnitty served with chips and a bowl of salad. Chips were well seasoned and crunchy. The only feedback I might give is that the schnitzel itself is not crispy. It is actually soft. I would love to have all these toppings and sauce and slice through my knife with a crunch sound. But overall very pleasant dinner and very pleased with what I pay for.

The schnit lovers pizza. Well it confused my knoggin.I love pizza and don't mind a good Schnitty but to combine the two wasn't a marriage yes it was love at first sight and by no means was it bad I just recommend one or the other.The setting is new modern and offers a cafe/pub style feel about it.Comfortable and simple I'd do it again selecting one dish without combining them both but that's my opinion.
This was my first time trying Schnit House, which replaced Sliders On Rundle. Though I didn't try their sliders, I had their Schnit House burger and it did not disappoint. With a large portion size, served with a side of chips, it was absolutely fantastic! Pricing was good as well, cheaper than other burger options around town for amount you are getting. Overall, it was a great experience and I will be back again.
The schnitzels here are great. The best crumb ever. Have watched several try to complete the Man vs Schnit. Some have won, some have lost. Specials always available. Extra points for schnitzel puns.

First time visiting this place. Had a chilled laid back vibe & sat in a comfortable booth. I ordered a chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce and my partner ordered a beef schnitzel with the same sauce. The wait time was quick and the serving portions huge, especially the chicken. The schnitzel were very well seasoned and tasted great. Both were cooked to perfection. The mushroom gravy however tasted like packet gravy and was very bland. The salad was standard, but did have a nice dressing. Food was cheap, however beer was nice but a little expensive. A 500ml glass was $13.50. Overall was happy with the experience.
Tried for the first time today and was fantastic! If you like a bit of chili recommend the hot enema sauce! Great service and was good fun with good beer.
Devilwoman. My husband and I went to this lovely Restaurant on Friday night and we were hugely impressed with it! The meals were hot (on a very cold night) were beautifully presented and tasted absolutely wonderful! The service was second to none! AMY our waitress was ever present, nothing was too much trouble, we didn't have to ask for a single thing, she intuitively knew what we may like and appeared with a carafe of water (not asked for) & offered to take us inside the Restaurant after a table became available! Again we declined her offer, but we hadn't asked to be shown this added courtesy, but the thought was just lovely! Not often that you have service like this without asking for it and she is an absolute CREDIT to this fantastic eatery. I hope that we conveyed our thanks adequately to TONY on the night, but no one will be disappointed in eating out at the Schnithouse and we are already looking forward to another great meal there in the future!
Very consistent - been half a dozen times since opening and every time has been on point. All schnitzels cooked fresh, chips fresh etc - will keep returning!

Decent feed. Huge meals, good variety to pick from. Really good atmosphere, quality and flavours are good but won't blow you away. Enema hot sauce is far from hot, tastes just like franks hot sauce. Would go back though for quick easy meal.
Best schnitzel in Adelaide! The crumbing is so thin and flavoursome and the meat is so tasty! My favourite so far is the Dirty Gringo - Mexican style schnitzel. Love having the chips and salad separate. Amazing range of schnitzels available. Also tried the club sandwich for lunch which was very tasty. The service was fantastic both times I visited. Highly recommended!

So I've had a lot of schnits. Chicken Parmy aficionado since day dot.
I can honestly say that this place is my new schnitzel haunt. The vibe of the place is of an upmarket bistro but without the sound of the pokies, clean and slick. Walk up service, food came out quick. I got the Dirty Gringo and the missus got the Federer. Went with a couple who got the Clive Parma and Fully Schnit. We ended up sampling bits of each other's schnitzels, all were amazing, juicy and cooked perfectly, quick and happy service.
Really don't understand the reviews of people complaining about that it has a German motif but Italian chefs. Heaven forbid you go to a pub somewhere and an Indian chef may do your scotch fillet. Fools.

Best schnitzel in Adelaide. I been there few times and after organised my company lunch with 20 people. Staff are very friendly and look after us very well. I am definitely coming back again as my kids loved the icecream and kids meal. Highly recommended
Almost seemed sacrilege to not order a schnitzel but it was Good Friday and the Barramundi was lovely
