Went in there this morning. The food here is amazing. The ham and turkey are well cooked, even the scrambled eggs have a scent of vanilla. The fruits and jam both have figs in it, which is a nice little something you can try on. The decor here is quite artsy and the service here is well-mannered. Would consider go again.

Enjoyed a late lunch at this quaint cafe today. The service was really quick and the food was very delicious. Loved seeing plenty of vegan options as my son has allergies. A little bit warm inside though and could do with air conditioning or more fans on.

Good food, great service, excellent coffee. Thanks everyone!

Lovely little peaceful cafe, good food & friendly owner! Had brekkie here today with my partner.. Enjoyed it & will be back again 😊

One of the only true vegetarian cafes in Adelaide. A real no-gimmicks, no ego food and coffee offering with an unpretentious vibe so needed to contrast the often cookie-cutter caffeine cattle runs of the main drag in Norwood.
Will be back, will tell my mates about it.

Went in for brunch and the cafe has a really comfortable with a warm atmosphere. Staff were friendly, the food and coffee were delicious! Would happily come back again.

My favourite little cafe with the most welcoming staff. My orders are always made with the freshest ingredients and their home-baked goodies are just divine.

We recently headed here for an impromptu lunch. What a great little find. Lots of lunch and brunch options available, I really liked the mushroom bruschetta. The milkshake was also very reasonably priced for such a large serve. Friendly staff, plenty of indoor seating and a nice chilled vibe. A real local feel about the cafe which is great for families.

A cute little hole in the wall, very accommodating and friendly staff. They managed to fit our pram brigade at the back. Food and drinks were delicious too.

Have tried to go to five little figs a few times before but always landing on days they were shut but finally made it there today and so glad I did! I am really surprised there hasn’t been any reviews since late 2017 as this place is fantastic! They are only open from Tuesday to Friday, however Zomato says they are open Saturday’s and this is why I haven’t been able to dine there before. I got there when they opened at 830 and over the course of my meal it got pretty busy for this cute and cozy little place. Seems lots of locals stop in for a takeaway coffee. I had the mushroom bruschetta with a side of bacon and a soy chai latte and was impressed by all! The latte was perfect, probably the best I have had in awhile. The mushroom bruschetta is a decent portion with lots of mushrooms and super tasty pesto and hummus. I absolutely loved this dish and the bacon was cooked perfectly. All the staff were super friendly and I look forward to making this place one of my regular breakfast haunts.

Simple menu. I had the vegetarian burger. It was stuffed full, of two fried eggs, and a generous amount of sweet potato, which was excellent but made it difficult to eat. I think it should be illegal to put cheese on the bottom on a bun, it melts into the bread and if it's thin you just can't taste it. Haloumi would of been a better option, placed in the filling

Great food and very quick service, great place for breakfast or lunch. I came on a friday at 12 and there was plenty of room
Had the vegetarian breaky burger, would recommend it!

It's a cute little cafe in the suburbs with a good atmosphere. The food was ok, pretty standard breakfast menu. I had green eggs and ham- the scrambled eggs was pretty bland and the bacon dry and over cooked. My friend had the smashed avo which she enjoyed, much more flavour in that one. It was nice that they were happy to sub things off your dish for something else you'd prefer.

Had breakfast with my partner's family on a Saturday morning. Read the reviews and most people recommended making a reservation, so we booked a table for 6. But it wasn't that crowded as we thought it would be anyway. Coffee was decent. Food was pretty overpriced. Had the French toast, which was pretty healthy as it was loaded with yogurt instead of maple syrup.

Great place to meet for lunch or coffee and cake. In fact, stay for the afternoon and do both! I had the beef burger, carrot cake and a couple of coffees. Great service.. Friendly with a smile. This may be my new go to place.
Ali Beach
Nice little cafe, good portion sizes and fresh ingredients. I had the Pas Thai salad which although didn't taste like Pad Thai, had a nice zesty flavour and generous amount of chicken. Decor is cute too.

I've been here a few times now, and have to say this is possibly one of my favourite cafes in Adelaide. The staff are lovely and genuine. The food is always fresh, light and delicious. Great coffee, delicious fresh juices and there's always an interesting array of yummy sweets. I'm going to be coming here again soon! 😍

I was invited here for a catch up with two other mums and was pleasantly surprised by so many things! I hadn't heard of this little spot tucked away in the backstreets of the eastern suburbs and everything from the ease of parking to the coffee was fantastic. Located on a quiet suburban street corner parking is extensive. Upon entry you are greeted by a cute, vintage garden style decor and lots of space around some small tables and some central long tables for larger parties. All spots around the cafe would easily accommodate a pram as long as it wasn't full.

We ordered the french toast which was stacked and loaded with berries and the eggs Benedict (vego version) which was delicious and filling. Loads of tangy hollandaise, fresh spinach and creamy avocado plus two poached eggs. The coffee was fantastic. The specials board features a couple of breakfast (served until 11am) and lunch options. The best part of their permanent menu was, for me, as a vegetarian, that most dishes with some meat offered a vego version. A really simple way to make vegos feel as though they aren't asking to make big changes to meals! Their menu features a great variety of your usual cafe fare (build your own breakfast, smashed avocado, burgers, eggs) but going by the dishes ordered on this occasion they seem to be done to a wonderful standard. The staff are all so lovely as well.

A gorgeous array of raw, vegan and gluten free cakes, slices and desserts are also on offer in their cabinet.

How should I bring my baby in?: As mentioned above, if the cafe isn't busy you're going to be fine with your pram, most spots around the venue will have space for it nearby. Highchairs are also available.

It is with the greatest pleasure and upmost respect I write my very first review for this cafe. I'm not really one for hiding behind a keyboard with intent to voice an opinion, but for this cafe, I'll make the exception.
The Fig is run by a well respected chef with a flair for the quaint, if you like snobby staff, and highfalutin chefs then this isn't for you. It's refreshing to walk into a place and be greeted with a smile. Customer service in some places and on the phones have declined of late I've noticed, so to walk into a cafe no matter what day you're having and just absorb an atmosphere that is completely contradistinctive to any other cafe I have been in. With the 2 areas of the cafe to relax in, inside, and an outside courtyard (perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of cafe life), it makes the experience all the more relaxing.
I've read some of the reviews from some ladder climbing opinion pushing individuals but alas this is and will remain my most favorite non-average cafe to visit, with my ambrosial coffee and delightful cafe food.

I will try to fairly review this place. Why fairly? On the day I visited it was floor to ceiling full of kids (they're were 5 but they were mind numbingly awful and they're mind numbingly awful parents didn't seem to mind). I won't judge them on the kids though because even the staff seemed ready to snap. This is saying something considering I work with about 100 school aged children every day.

The fare was good without being great. Despite the kids I couldn't imagine going back. I normally like the corner store on a budget thing but this was more corner store on a budget plus I don't want to work in the workforce anymore how about I open a store because my friends like my picnics. The breakfast burrito full of egg and a little chorizo was nice because you can't really go wrong with those things but it wasn't great. It was a bit flavourless. My dining companion had the crepes though and they were well impressed with these puppies. They did seem extra generous with the nutella and my burrito did take up the plate and then some. So portion sizing isn't a problem. The coffee was Mojo and I am not hugely familiar with this brand but it wasn't excellent. It was I asked the guy at the local servo and now all 20 people waiting to pay for their petrol have to wait an extra 10 minutes because some nimrod at 9:30 at night decided they wanted a skinny latte bad. It was bitter and a little burnt. You can tell I wasn't impressed.

I love this place! Third visit & never disappointed. Coffee is smooth & creamy & the food is tasty. Staff are friendly & welcoming. Decor is fun. Put this one on your list.
A Bite Of Adelaide
nice, cosy cafe but there are better
rather average cafe, with average service and average coffee/food.

Five Little Figs is a quaint little cafe located on the side streets of Payneham South. Initially, the cafe was going to be named after the five senses which are the elements that contribute to a sensual and satisfying food experience. Subsequently, it seemed more appropriate to name the cafe after the five fig trees that were growing in the backyard of the cafe. Five Little Figs has a small breakfast menu that is available between 8:30 and 11:30am which includes favourites such as Mushroom Toast, Smashed Avocado and Green Eggs & Ham. Lunch goes from midday to 2:30pm and offers baguettes, wraps, salads, burgers and bruschetta.

Check out this little cafe in the suburb of Payneham. You will find this in the corner of Devitt and Ashbrook Avenue in between houses. As soon as I stepped into this cafe, I thought I was going home. It has a very warm, homely feel.

Left pretty disappointed. Started with a 'juice', which was so bitsy it couldn't even be sucked up with a straw. It must have been made in one of those nutribullet's and made in bulk. Perhaps we got the bottom of the bucket.

The chicken wrap was 14 dollars, and just came as a wrap with minimal amount of chicken. No side salad or anything to distinguish a lunch bought from a cafe or one from a corner store.

Lovely location. Couldn't justify going back tho

Great brekkie!. LOVED the smashed avocado, probably one of the best I've tried. Will visit again. I'm surprised more people don't know about this place!

Can't wait to go back!. Thank you 5 little figs for such a fantastic first experience at your cafe today! I was in food heaven throughout my mushroom bruschetta (that pesto is delish!) and found the staff to be incredibly friendly and efficient. Neither myself or dining companion friends have kids but we still loved the child-friendly atmosphere and facilities. Will be back soon!

Love this place. I love this cute little café! Great coffee, plenty of vegetarian/vegan options, really nice assortment of desserts and am always greeted with friendly customer service. Perfect combination!

A fabulous menu, reasonably priced too! I feel a little out of place, as it has a strong kids/ family friendly vibe- which is fantastic for family's, but lacks the intimate ambience that some people may prefer. Coffee is a little too hot! But will probably come back to this suburban gem.

Great little kid friendly cafe. What a cute find! Child friendly and great food options. They got my order wrong to begin with but were so great about it, fixed it straight away and offered a free coffee - very friendly and helpful staff make a huge difference to the customer experience even if mistakes are made. Food was good, fresh eggs (possibly from their own chooks out the back of the cafe!). Will definitely go back again.

10/10- a definite must try. A quiet little cafe hidden away in the suburbs. I had the french toast, which was quite amazing. Customer service was fantastic and their coffee was pretty awesome! A definite must try, especially with the unique interior design.

Best kept secret in the suburbs, great coffee and fantastic food.

Great fit out, fab atmosphere, super staff, delicious food and coffee. What more could a customer ask for? Doesn't warrant any negative reviews (bunker). BTW no child is perfectly behaved!!!

LOVED IT!!. Five Little Figs café is so unique! The concept of a place to bring your kids and relax with beautiful food and exceptional coffee, in amongst Payneham suburbia is soooo welcomed. I have been to this café several times since it opened and have found the staff to be so welcoming of kids (I simpy don't get Brunkers review below). I have heard the owner is a teacher of kids cooking classes. The food has been consistently great and I never feel rushed as my kids have so many things to discover, including outdoor gardens, games, books to read, etc. LOVE LOVE LOVE !!

Wow, what a find! This little gem is tucked in the backstreets of suburban Adelaide. Decore is great, staff friendly (and plenty of them) and atmosphere 'buzzing'. Coffee machine being worked hard is a good sign. My boys were having fun whilst waiting for their toasties. My lunch was beautiful, fresh and full of flavor. Thanks team FLF! We will definitely be back.

Great concept. I love the premise of this place, so much so that after hearing about it I hit the "like" button in here. However, I'm taking back that "like" after actually trying the place. My first effort saw me driving there on a sunny Saturday morning only to find the place closed. Fair enough I guess, my bad but what is with suburban establishments that dont open on what should be the biggest morning of the week? I do find it a little strange, business must be very good otherwise I guess.
So, I went back during the week with my beautifully behaved 3 year old girl and encountered a couple of problems. The first of which is the food of poor to average quality that is certainly not priced accordingly. Had a baguette, chicken & bacon apparently but the filling was kind of ground up, salty and to be honest not good. I ordered the dips platter off the kids menu also which involved carrot & celery sticks and some hommos. That was actually pretty good, as was their coffee. On to the second problem. There was an older woman there who I suspect might be the owner? By older I only mean older than the girl working the counter (who was lovely by the way). I found her manner fairly unpleasant to be honest. My daughter was playing with some of the toys in the play area with another little girl and had come to sit at the table adjacent with me to have something to eat. As soon as this happened the woman in question appeared and started busily, noisily and unnecessarily tidying up the toy area. There were maybe 3 things out of the allotted toy basket but still well within the play area. She looked utterly miserable and appeared to resent the fact that there were kids enjoying themselves. Maybe it was a particularly bad day for her? Fair enough I guess, we all have them but her demeanour was unpleasant and I will not be giving her a chance to redeem herself. The really disappointing thing was that she didn’t actually seem to contribute anything to the business either. She didn’t serve while I was there and only appeared to be seen to be tidying up and make people in there feel as if they were imposing. I’d have gone back again if not for her and probably regularly, good coffee and having a little play area and some healthy food options for kids is priceless to any parent. An average baguette is not unforgivable but her attitude was not something I need to pay for or tolerate. Again though, the girl actually serving there was great, they would be well served to leave all the front of house work to her!

Good for kids..... Took my lil one and she enjoyed which made me feel great.. this place is great for kids and parents to hang out..

This little place is fairly new. food and service is good. Kid friendly and vego friendly.

You walk in, there is such a great vibe and wonderful to bring children to. They have small tables for the kiddies to draw and play on. Great children items to purchase and not expensive at all.
Delicious Please
Adelaidean mums, welcome to kid-friendly cafe heaven. For the rest of us, Five Little Figs is definitely worth the hunt for a delicious, nutritious, organic-alicious meal. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that the cafe is completely hidden inside suburban Payneham, but luckily it's bright lime signage is eye-catching.
On The Chopping Board
If you've only recently started eating a vegan diet, you may still remember (and cling on to) the nights you went out to dinner and sat on a cloth covered chair, at a solid wooden table covered with crisp white linen. You may remember eating off a dinner plate from the same set as your side plate with heavy, shiny, matching cutlery. At the end of your meal, you may also remember wiping the sides of your mouth with a pure white cloth napkin and having your plates cleared by a wait staff who was trained to be seen but not heard. The only thing wrong with those nights is the food on the menu was rarely vegan. As a vegan, if I want to go out to dinner with non-vegan friends, I either have to navigate the menu filled with animal products or I have to take friends to a restaurant filled with mis-matched cutlery and crockery and sit on 70's vinyl chairs at a laminate table. Not anymore.
