Review Parente Pizzaria Ristorante - Adelaide

The atmosphere when dining in deserves a good four stars. Unfortunately the food just isn't that good. Garlic bread, pizza and risotto are all very average. For the price, I don't think I'll be back.

Disappointed. We ordered the garlic prawns in white wine with rice for a home delivery. While the sauce was overly rich it did had a nice flavour however all of the prawns were mushy. We couldn't eat it. We called the restaurant to let them know about the prawns.... because after all there could be something wrong with them but we were not offered any apology let alone refund. Not a great experience at all.

Yummy authentic Italian food, reasonably priced mains for great serves. Also cosier and much less noisy then some other Italian places nearby. Kids meals however are 15$, with additional 5.5$ for 1 scoop of gelati. This is sadly overpriced (knowing adult mains are only 5-10$ more). Management of Parente, if you read this and care, I suggest you do something about this as your competitors do, and you are after all a family restaurant. This last part will hold us back from coming back very often.

Had the most amazing melt in your mouth gnocchi with fresh pancetta, followed by home.made tiramisu to die for. Unfortunately we are from Sydney and unlikely to eat here again but if you are a local or visitor enjoy. Staff were so friendly and obliging. D

This place is a great find. The food here is always top-notch and the service makes you feel very welcomed. If you live in the area and you haven't tried Parente's yet, you are missing out.

Great food and excellent service. My favourites include the Osso Bucco and Parente's Special Gourmet Pizza.

Fantastic little Italian Restaurant close to the City. The Pizza here is truly to die for & they even have a drive through window for takeaway.

Woeful pizza. Over priced for the quality and and amount of topping. Dough was heavy and chewy. Have had better pizza from Dominos.

The best pizza in town, thin, crunchy, soft.. amazing! Most beautiful, genuine service.. takes me back to my childhood memories. Thank you for always making our meals so delicious!

Only recently discovered this place due to a recommendation from a friend of mine. The Pizza here is delicious, and the drive-thru pick up window just adds to the convenience of having a fantastic meal :)

What can only be described as an amazing traditional family owned Italian restaurant. Amazing food and atmosphere. Owners and staff made us all feel welcome, look forward to our next visit. If in doubt try their Lasagna....you won't regret it

Very underwhelmed with my service. Didnt like how tony treated his staff infront of me nor was he nice when ariving at drive thru window, dunno how he runs a business.

Work function. We were a large part of about 25. <br/>It's a good job we were there as no one else was!<br/>Disappointing dull atmosphere in dated decor Italian restaurant.<br/>Haphazard service. <br/>Food was good and generous serves so back of house are getting it right. Just a shame the front of house vibe was so lacklustre.

Currently staying at the Levi's caravan park and found this on Zomato. I had the large meat lovers and my brother has the supreme. Both very good not oily full on flavour. Highly recommended

The food here was incredible, i had the garlic prawns and my boyfriend had the aged scotch fillet. Both dishes were absolutely lovely, especially since its cheaper here than most places to get a scotch fillet. As most people with coeliac requirements know, it's hard to find places that you can eat at, but my partner didnt experience any sickness following our night here. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone and we will definitely be coming back!

Great service. Excellent food. Am a lover of sticky date, the one I had tonight was probably the best I ever had. Really great pizzas also.

Pizza was not one I would go back for. Heavy chewy base and given the complete lack of my ordered toppings way over priced. Pulled up to the pickup window at allotted time, was not noticed for 5 minutes even though there were 4 staff within view and when someone did come over it was another 5 minutes before pizza was ready. Only half a dozen people in the restaurant so being busy was not an excuse.

Went here for a meal tonight, the ladies were lovely that served us very enthusiastic and the food was great very enjoyable will go again for sure

Great Food. Friendly staff welcome you to this modern Italian Ristorante. It has a warm atmosphere with a menu full of your favourite Italian foods. Tony will serve you with crepes at the table to give that finishing touch to a relaxing, or fun filled evening. An experience well worth the test. Will return.

Pizza. The pizzas I've purchased from Parente's have been of the highest quality. With amazing fresh produce and the most delishes pastry. With the option to customise your pizza I love adding a couple of extra ingredients to have it the way I like. Best pizza's in town!!!

Oh dear.. After being told by Tony over the phone that my pizza would take half an hour, I pulled up at the drive through window at the allotted time. Disappointingly, hair cut model boy tells me, "it's not ready, it will be another 7-8 minutes, we haven't started making it yet". I shrugged, these things happen, and relayed to Bieber that I was told half an hour and here I am. As it would have been ridiculous for me to block the drive through for others while I waited, I decided to drive around the block to kill time. After giving them 10 minutes, just to be sure, I pulled up behind another waiting car at the aforesaid window. 5 minutes went by until Bieber spotted me. Another short wait then out came a finger-wagging mature gent who started his unfortunate rant with, "Listen here, I'm Tony alright..." With the subtlety of a brick in an empty cement-mixer Tony made clear Bieber's unsuitability for anything other than vogueing, suggesting that the reason why they hadn't started making my pizza at all is because I drove away from the window. Of course it's my fault, my family didn't want a pizza anyway, that's why I rang and drove up twice. Rather than get annoyed and try to reason with the obviously agitated Tony, I decided to drive only a few short metres to Allegria and order one of their delicious pizza's which, by the way, was cooked and delivered with polite professionalism in 15 minutes. Hats off to Parente's, a real pleasure.

Trust is a factor!. We were charged more for a pizza with 3 toppings than the special with 8 toppings, even though the 3 toppings were part of the 8 toppings that formed the 'special'. When queried why it cost more (unfortunately we had already paid) we were advised, "because we chose the 3 toppings the pizza was therefore a 'customised' pizza' thereby attracting a premium". We argued that it would have been cheaper for us to have purchased the special and picked-off 5 of the toppings we didn't want leaving the 3 we did want. They agreed but still did not wish to discuss or offer to adjust their pricing, nor when we advised we would not use them again, did they seem to care.

Excellent Pizza. First time tried their pizzas tonight and were of an excellent standard, nice dough, not oily and tasty toppings, will definitely be back.

BEST PIZZA. I'd been to my fair share of pizza places in Adelaide, West, North and South, and this is with out any doubt, the BEST Pizza in Australia. Only thing is, they don't deliver, but it's worth the drive to pick it up, you have to try it, you wont be disappointed.

Poor value & slow servic.. Nearly $8 for three slices of garlic bread that look like the product of a supermarket loaf. Almost $25 for a scattering of undersized overcooked prawns in gnocchi $27 for a half chicken breast with dark veins all through it & $19 for an entree size mushroom risotto. Washed down with 2 bitters lime & lemonade @ $4.40 each. We arrived just after 7.00pm ordered garlic bread at 7.15 and were told we couldn't order mains yet. Ordered mains at 7.25 and waited. And waited. The owners sat & chatted with their guests in the mostly empty restaurant. The kitchen staff seemed busy with takeaways. We waited. Eventually after later arrivals were served food we were ready to walk out when food arrived at 8.15. To be fair we were offerred coffee or desert. As we were out for a quick meal we declined and were offerred consideration on the account. We heard excuses from the owner. ... lots of them denials too. The discount was as underwhelming as the rest of the experience- $8.60 off a $148.60 bill. In the end we were happy to put it down to experience. We won't be back.

Good food but poor value for money.

Nice family run restaurant. Light and airy and clean with plenty of space for each table. A family owned and run restaurant with a good selection of meals and wines. We have dined and enjoyed the fresh oysters and the scallopini and friendly efficient service.<br/>When our daughter and her family arrived late and unexpectedly from the country we took advantage of the takeaway side of the business and had a family size Pizza with the lot (less onions) and we all thought it was the best Pizza we had tasted for a long time.<br/><br/>If you are in the Eastern suburbs then this is one to try

We love the Parente's Special Pizza. Friday night is pizza night at our place & we love Parente for take away pizza. They've got a convenient drive thru pick up window for take away clients. Our favourite is the Parente's Special....great quality ingredients, perfect base & consistently good. We should know-we've kept coming back for years!

Had a great meal. Crab pasta, salmon, parmigiana and baccala was so nice. Haven't been for a little while was overdue and so glad we came tonight. Thanks Tony and Steve.

Parente pizza are the best in town u got to try it for yourself and the chicken ceaser salad was yummy too made in gluten free style

I love Pizza and this is the best in Adelaide!. .I love Pizza and I've had a lot of pizza in my years! And I've just had THE BESt!! THE REAL DEAL, old school with best wishes from Michael Corleone kind of pizza! It was super fresh, serious quality ingredients, and when your talking Marinara that's so important! Served piping hot and smelling as delicious as it tasted!! Highly recommend Parentes!!

Great Tortellini Alla Panna. On my way to job interview and had a quick bite at lunch time.<br/>It was a true family ristorante, you could fill up on the vapours in the air from the kitchen. <br/>they understood my urgency. Great efficient service and well cooked tortellini<br/>good price<br/>thanks I'll come again

Real food here. I couldn't fault this visit. The food was amazing. The presentation was like a work of art that you almost didn't want to eat, but of course I had to and it was so delicious I could of eaten it 100 times. The stand out for me was the Rabbit dish which was the best I have had. The service as always was great. Our waiter was friendly, and really funny. <br/>I can not wait to go back and try a Parente pizza, looked so good and they sell lots of them.

Where's the love? I believe that if you don't book a table then you can't expect good service. We booked but still the service was poor. The oysters kilpatrick were delicious but salty & left me gasping for a drink that I had ordered but took ages to be delivered. The torture was seeing our drink order sitting on the bar but no-one brought it to us for a long time. When the drinks finally arrived, I immediately ordered some tap water which was forgotten & my partner had to remind the waitress. My partner had the gnocchi & prawns dish. I have never tried better gnocchi; it was silky & just the right sized pieces, however, the serving was small for a main course. I had the calzone which seemed like all the ingredients slipped into the middle when it was folded over, so there was a lot of cutting up of empty pizza crust. I've had better elsewhere. There must have been a lot of salt in it because I was very thirsty & drank all the water before leaving. Even when I got home I was still thirsty & needing more drinks. At no point did the waiting staff make me feel that I was an important customer & the place wasn't even full - on a Saturday night, what does that tell you? Also, the menu needs better proof reading as it has lots of spelling & punctuation errors which makes the business look unprofessional.

Rude Dude. This Dude is Rude. Went there once and almost lost a tooth on an olive pip. Went through the rediculous drive through, (which doesnt really work when you have to wait for a pizza to be cooked.) The owner came and told me to go through the drive through in the other direction in a rude manner. My housemate got a job there once and said they guy yelled at her and all the other staff and she quit after a week or two. Don't support rude business owners and maybe people will learn to be nice.

Good food and good price. Been to Parente a few times now and its worth its money that's for sure.<br/>It has a drive thru pick up window for take away, How Awesome!! Can not wait to use it!

Great food!!. We have been coming to Parente's for several years..... be it for takeaway pizza, business lunches, family events and business functions. The food has always been fantastic. Authentic and traditional food prepared with the passion you'd expect from Italians! If you want to experience some of the best food available in a pizzeria and ristorante environment, then I would recommend a meal at Parente.

The Customer is always Right???. Last night I had dinner at Parente Restaurant on Payneham Road Royston Park. Parente is run by an extremely rude Italian (the son at least) who was abusive towards me because I dared to question the inconsistencies with the varying portion sizes of the meals served at our table (Masterchef would have a field day). I thought that the meal I was served was overpriced and whilst it matched the description in the menu ...was lacking in quantity. The service was very slow (I managed one drink in two hours) and became non existant after my altercation. At least all the spelling errors in the specials menu provided some entertainment ie Kilipatrick, potato's, barrimundi!! There is such a thing as Karma and what goes around comes around. We will never venture to Fawlty Towers (oops Parente Restaurant) again.

Amazing experience!. The smell of this restaurant alone could make me return. We were greeted by lovely customer assistance- the staff even went out of their way to ensure that we could sit where we pleased. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff were lovely and the food was delicious. I ordered a pizza which was beautifully cooked and tasted amazing! Other people dining with me got meat meals and pizzas which were all brought out at exactly the same time and were also perfect. The sticky date slice for dessert was to die for. I recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back.

Rude staff and terrible food, bad experience, don't bother!

Menu is diverse and professionally peepared. Always pleased when the meal tastes as goid as is described in the menu. Fresh and prepared with passion. Service geat, ambience excellent. Have been back many times.

Coincidence??. I had to laugh reading these so called 'reviews'. Five of the most positive reviews you will ever read on this site we all posted within three days by 'reviewers' that have not contributed since. Must have been a quiet week at Parentes! lol.

Disappointing. My experience in this restaurant was disappointing. Not that it was terrible but I was expecting a bit more than the average.<br/>I had a Linguini Granchio and it was simply boring. The pasta itself was ok but I had the impression the chef just put all the ingredients together with no attention to seasoning. And the crab meat didn't taste fresh.<br/>The service wasn't great as well. I felt under pressure to make an order as the waitress came every couple of minutes asking what we want. And I would expect a waiter to ask if I have finished, as there was still plenty of food on the dish, but he just took my dish with no question.

Fantastic Pizza. Hello everyone i just want to say.........<br/><br/> WE LOVE PARENTE'S<br/><br/>My house mates and I live only streets away and we just cant get enough of their Pizza (yummy) and when we are lazy we use their Drive Thru pick up window and get take away.<br/>Being a regular customer and parente's is like being a part of their family and we really appricate it <br/>Thank You to the Parente Family :)

Great night out....... I recently came in one night with a group of friends. We were seated to our table by the friendly staff who were very professional and attentive at all times. The ambiance created a warm atmosphere as soon as you walked in. You certainly can what a difference a family operated restaurant makes! Despite being a busy night, the food did not take long to come out and when it did, it was a sensation to my taste buds. Overall it was a highly enjoyable experience amongst all of us and we will definitely be back again.

Freshness. Parente's has a nice ambience and after driving past it for the past 3 yrs we finally had an opp to eat there last weekend. 17/10<br/>The food here demonstrates attention to detail and tastes that flow through your entire body. I particularly liked the goat which makes lamb shanks look ordinary in comparison. Extra condiments are well catered for E.g more chilli/bread etc. The Scallopini Pancetta was mouth watering.<br/>There is a nice blend of staff between young and old, all who are attentive (but not overly) and made good suggestions about the wine and most importantly the desserts--you just have to try the home made warm sticky date

Food Fanatic. I have been eatting in restaurants all over Australia all my life and i will always come back to Parente's the food is always fresh and tasty. <br/> Family owned and operated restaurants are the best there is always the caring, love and passion for the business but most of all the customer interaction they always make you feel appricated that your eating thier food. <br/> My favorite dish is Parente's Spaghetti Marinara look at the picture i included

Bad experience. The man who serviced us was extremely rude. He said 'have you got any questions' and then when asked one replied in a very condescending tone. My friend and I did not feel comfortable at all and he seemed to belittle us simply because we weren't ordering wine and oysters!<br/>The wait on the food was reasonable but when it arrived was not worth the money or putting up with the service. Bread was burnt, pizza was burnt, chicken was dry, pasta was still hard - being an Italian restaurant you would like to think they could manage some pizza and pasta!<br/>Atmosphere was oddly quiet, only a few tables were filled and monotonous music was playing in the background.<br/><br/>Left half our meals behind and couldn't wait to leave.

Not the best, service has dived.
