It's daggy, but warm. Drinks are reasonably priced, and menu decent. Shared a great mushroom and haloumi burger with a friend on my most recent visit. Brioche bun was tops and served with crispy chips. Staff are friendly, and it's situated in a quiet nook of Adelaide away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
If you're after basic, hearty food at reasonable prices with an atmosphere reminiscent of that enjoyed by our friends the other side of the world, this is your spot. Enjoyed my Sheppard's pie with a pint of Guinness while watching the footy.
Great service. Was in Adelaide for the week. Dropped in to The Elephant last night and we were very impressed. Great food and atmosphere but, above all, we had the most outstanding professional service from one of the female staff, Fiona ...what a lovely, friendly girl - so welcoming, polite and efficient. Would have to be a highlight of my visit. Thank you!
Decent pub grub, great beers, ESPN and warm fire
Big selection of beers fairly priced, good value food, can get busy at lunch so get in early
Good. Went there to catch up with a friend. Service was great, quick and fast. There was only one bartender but he was doing a good job serving everyone asap. Mains were a good portion. We struggled a bit to finish it! I had the fish and chips while my friend had the curry of the day (beef korma). My only gripe was that the fish was a bit too oily for my liking. Next time I go, I would request them to drain the fish and chips a bit longer. Yes, I would return to this pub.
