Great burgers and even better wings! Personally recommend the Jack Daniels wings with any meal you get there. Cool, comic art style restaraunt with nostalgic vibes.
No doubt a very true American way to eat is to eat at Chuck Wagon. Each item in the menu has it own identity and tastes true to its name and description. Will definitely gain a few pounds after visiting here. The decor is all Marvel and DC which makes it more exciting. Less in space but always full. Staff is swift and courteous.
Very surprised with this place... The staff were pleasant ... Interior of the shop looks slightly crowded though... But the food - wow... If you don't mind those calories on your waistline, it's a kids haven ! The burgers are delicious! Top it up with some onion rings or shoestring fries and a milkshake - YUM!
Have visited both stores and found the workers at both to be extremely friendly. I ordered the chuck burger and found the flavours extremely tasty however I found my burger fell apart really quickly and became a mess. It was all part of the fun however it did become quiet difficult. The shakes are masterpiece and tasty and the sides are fanatic. Decor is cool and really plays to any kind of comic book or film fan.
If you're in the mood for an unhealthy meal, Chuck Wagon is the place to go. This place has burgers, fries, milkshakes and more all made to excess, with an American theme to the food and drinks making for a few interesting items on the menu. Definitely unique and jam-packed with superhero decor, giving you talking points all night. The restaurant is quite small unfortunately so it's often a little difficult to get a table on a busy night. Serving sizes are relatively large and food very filling so it's easy to order too much. Wouldn't recommend the cocktails, they are overly sweet and don't appear to have a very high alcohol content. Overall a fun place to dine at and yummy food, well worth a few clogged arteries.
We did it, we tried it. It would be harsh for me to give it any lower score due to the fact that the food was not my thing. Very heavy, very greasy, not a lot of healthy choices if you were to have a naughty side/entree. Service with food was very slow, but the staff were lovely. Desserts were a fantastic play food and great for photo's, but obviously just over the top and sugar to die for! Definitely need to do it if you are a dessert and American food lover!
Always extremely busy but food is DELICIOUS.
You have to be prepared to wait if you go. But it's worth it. Staff are friendly but always looked stressed. Understandable. Great environment.
The decor is hilarious. Brought out the child in me. I found myself looking around most of the time. I didn't have one of their infamous milkshakes because I didn't want to flat line inside their establishment. However, their brownie was delicious. Almost as good as mine! Come here for your next cheat meal.
This is our second time at Chuck Wagon. The first time I had the chuck burger and loved it. Second time I ordered the double bacon BBQ cheese burger & my partner ordered the ultimate. I personally liked the chuck better than the cheese burger. I had misread the menu and the cheese burger had pickles covering the top of the bun and I don't like pickles! But fantastic if you love them. However, both times they had ran out of sweet potato chips and this was disappointing but their normal fries are very good! They are perfectly crunchy and their seasoning and sauce go perfectly together. What ruined the service for me was our drinks came out last. We had bottomless cokes. Our food arrived before our drinks & I had to chase up that our drinks were coming.
(Note: our fries are half eaten and left is the cheese burger and right is the ultimate.)
Finally made my way to this famous burger joint.
Ordered the Sweet Potato Fries ($6) and the Royale with Cheese ($10). The sweet potato fries were excellent - definitely amongst the best I've had. They were served with smashed avocado, which was a little unusual. I think I would've preferred aioli or something. The burger turned out to be tiny, which was alright with me because the fries were really filling, but if you were looking to just order a burger by itself, or if your appetite is big, then this burger is definitely not the one you should go with. Taste-wise though it was delicious. The patty was incredibly well-seasoned and perfectly cooked. The burger would have benefited from real melted cheese rather than "cheese sauce", but I would say that was the only fault. Otherwise the burger was spot on.
I also took away one of their home-made wagon wheels on the way out. My gosh it was yummy! Perfect for when you want to finish off your meal with something sweet but don't want anything too heavy.
Overpriced and overrated. It was lovely but not up to the standards that everyone raves about. I had the chips with pork belly on the top and the pork belly was overly dry and quite tasteless. The Oreo shake was quite nice though.
Chuck wagon is a great place to let go. I love their decor and constantly pushing out new themes burgers and specials as well as challenges. I was disappointed when they said they didn't take bookings! We had a large group and we had tried to call, but they said they wouldn't take any bookings and we ended up having to wait a long time before being seated. Which could have been avoided, really. I'm not much for their burgers, but I really love their pizza fries and shredded pork fries - to die for!

With Adelaide’s heavy burger scene, and with what feels like endless options, Chuck Wagon definitely stands out, not only for the Americana food but the distinct look it’s created for itself. Even before you walk in, your eyes are treated to a barrage of superhero/fandom statues, drawings, pictures and posters from the ground to the ceiling, literally. As well as coming for food and/or a hefty milkshake, there are sights to behold.
I've dined in a handful of times and each time I've had such a friendly response from all of the staff members, they've always been really polite and helpful.
Being in hospitality myself I know how hard it can be to time manage and remain friendly and upbeat after long hours, but they're all really lovely.
Do recommend // food is great also.
Great burgers and good beers to go with it. Awesome atmosphere and comforting food. They have brilliant desserts, but most of all I'd recommend the burgers: texas and double bbq bacon.
Finally gave Chuck Wagon a crack and the nostalgia of the place, pop culture and hand-drawn chalk pics behind the bar are awesome! Though, unfortunately I think the place is more appealing than the food. Its tasty but fatty and very messy. The nachos were tasty but piled with the American cream cheese sauce it was a bit much. The Brisket burger meat was quite deelish but with all the slaw and sauces made the bun soggy, same goes with the Texan burger. We were so full of meat and cheese we will have to return to try their desserts and milkshakes though, as the Peanut butter Nutella milkshake sounds very deelish! 😀
Popped in here for Sunday burger night. It is a pretty cool place, decked out in pop culture memorabilia. With all the hype surrounding this place, I went in with high expectations. I do not think that the food lived up to those expectations. By no means am I saying the food was bad, it was just average for the price. The smokey Mac and Cheese and bacon was nice, but the crispy bacon was more like chewing on jerky, not exactly crispy. The burger, however, was quite nice for a cheese burger, just a little on the small side. I would probably give it another go, as it ha a great atmosphere and the staff were friendly.
Great atmosphere and menu. Service was good and food was devoured. Ordered 2 burgers and fries with a cheese sauce that reminded me of a true American cheesy meal. Will definitely be coming back.

if your looking for somewhere to dig into something that's made up of all crazy concoctions this is the place for you! they do standard burgers and fries (we love the cheer fries) but then they make some super big burgers and milkshakes!
So many mushrooms!! I ordered the Chuck Gourmet, which came with three portobello mushrooms in it! This was super messy and I ended up eating two of them on their own with a knife & fork as they were impossible to eat in the burger, but the flavours were delicious and the servings were generous. The fried pickles and portobello chips were also great. The burger came with a gluten-free bun as standard, which wasn't clear and was a bit odd. Friendly staff.
A superhero themed burger joint with full fat American fare!! Loads of memorabilia to kick start conversation, tasty burgers, glorious chilli fries, decadent milkshakes and a side of heart attack. What more can you ask for?
My arteries say stop but my taste buds say yes! Brisket cheese fries and a black and blue burger washed down with a peanut brittle super shake...wow! I rolled home...
Visited the 'Chuck Wagon 175' on a whim one Saturday night and despite the line up at the door was able to get a window seat with my partner facing the street rather quickly.
First impressions of this place were fun, different, quirky and exciting. The place is decorated in an super hero, comic book, cartoon character style theme intertwined with purely American style decorations. We loved it!! When we weren't endlessly looking around and pointing things out, we were ooooing and ahhhhhing over the American style street food menu. We decided on the 'Burgernator' a stacked burger with the lot, the 'nachos' and the 'onion rings'. The burger was juicy, tender and well seasoned, while the nachos were crispy and onion rings were spot on!
The onion rings were hands down the best I've had in Adelaide by far.
We finished it off with a slice of 'deep fried jack Daniels apple pie' served with cream, ice cream and flayed strawberries. The dessert was simply delicious! Not too sweet and the 'jack Daniels' sauce was divine.
The only down side is that it doesn't take bookings, its first in first serve.
However if your looking for yummy American style comfort food to warm you up, this is your place! And certainly worth the wait. Conversation starting decor, friendly staff, wallet friendly menu and yummy food! A winning combination. We will definitely be back!
Chuck Wagon, definitely in my top 5 when it comes to burgers in Adelaide. Their menu is filled with interesting choices, and their daily specials have always impressed me. Last time I went, I ordered the special, which was a hot dog, and it was one BIG hot dog. Honestly didn't know how to start devouring it, tried using cutlery, and that failed. For the best feels for burgers and hot dogs, you have to use your hands. The hot dog had some fried chicken on it and some mustard sauce which really enhanced the flavour. I also ordered the sweet potato chips and it was really well made. It was thinly cut, crunchy and not too oily.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, especially if you're a marvel/comic fan! Plenty of posters and figurines floating around the place, definitely worth taking some photos of it.
Unique atmosphere with amazingly presented food 👍
Been here many times and had a combination of foods. Had buffalo wings, jalapeño poppers, chips, onion rings and a variety of burgers. Every time I've gone each has been exceptional. The portion sizes are huge and a food coma has followed after each visit. The only downside with the burgers is that they result in the bun going damp because of all the juices that come out. Service wise most of the staff are extremely friendly. There is one staff member who I've seen pull faces behind customers backs and look annoyed when people go to refill their drink. She could have just been having a bad day though. All up the place is great and the store looks really great. Only room for improvement would be taking reservations as this place is usually packed!

yum!! I love this burger place!! the burgers are so filling and delicious also love the sauces and aioli's. Chuck Wagon also brings out many amazing creations like nutella burgers, golden gaytime milkshakes and also monster burger creations. Props to them for keeping it fun and interesting!! A really good place to go with friends and the interior is like being at an American steakhouse!
Capt'n America FTW. Loved the interior design of the place!
Burgers were alright.. Basic and good. Again, I might be biased as I have had much better in Melbourne. But I am glad that the burger scene in Adelaide is expanding!
Staff were awesome though!
Fantastic American food! Unique tastes and dishes to die for....will definitely be going back. Some issues with service but staff explained they were under staffed and looked incredibly run off their feet. Can over look it and in compensation got a free wagon wheel ☺️
The most interesting place in Adelaide.. I have never been to a place that does so much so well whilst simultaneously managing to do the simplest things so badly.
There's no question that Chuck wagon is easily the most popular of the American burger establishments currently tending across Adelaide. It's great to see the place consistently packed with people during dinner services and it adds to the atmosphere of the place. The dining area is noisy and fun, and people are always checking out what other tables are eating. The decor, the ideas and the marketing are fantastic. There's always something new to see and it would be impossible to run out of new things to try. The menu is varied, extensive and full of crazy ideas and all the delicious calories to go with them!
However for every thing that Chuck wagon does so well there is so much that it does so poorly. The two main issue's I regularly have are the quality of the food and the service.
I've been to chuck wagon several times now and have been able to try a wide range of the menu options. The quality of the food seems to vary with every visit. The place gives you the impression that there are several chefs running the kitchen each with there own impression about how things should be cooked; even though this probably isn't the case. I've had some really great burgers at Chuck wagon but also some pretty poor ones. It was on the reputation of the few really great ones that keep me turning up again.
The other issue I constantly have a problem with is the service. The staff are helpful and freindly... If you can get their attention. Wait times for orders to be taken have ranged from anywhere between 15 minutes to 30 minutes and often we've had to prompt staff that we're ready to order in order to be served at all! Staff seem completely focused on getting meals out to tables but never seem to stop to address the customers themselves. I do however commend that your wait staff have finally learnt to take down orders rather than attempting to memorize them. Watching someone attempt to relay the full orders of a table of five back to the kitchen was a bit of a joke a year ago.
Overal I do find it hard to recommend Chuck wagon to people. I really like the place and I think it's full of great ideas but it's just so inconsistent in it's execution. I'll keep coming back because it's a fun and interesting place with so much potential... but sometimes I feel like an idiot for doing so.
10/10 service and incredible food. I came here for my birthday and was so excited. And let me say.. I was definitely not disappointed. The service was exquisite, the staff were incredibly attentive and the owner was the most engaging person.. the standard of service I expected was surpassed by miles. We only waited about 10 mins for a table, and because it was so busy, we waited outside. It was freezing cold but the young boy who greeted us came outside straight away to put on the gas heater. From the moment we were seated, it was awesome. The atmosphere, the decor. .it all added to the experience. I ordered the double bacon bbq burger with a side of fries, my partner ordered the deep fried pickle and the cajun burger, my mum had the green machine and her partner had the cheeseburger. Everything was so full of flavour, the size of the meals was perfect. Filling, but not so much that you feel sick. I even had dessert! I had the apple pie with toffee and ice cream.. and because it was my birthday, when they bought it out, it had a sparkler on it and the ENTIRE RESTAURANT started singing happy birthday. Made my night
All in all, 10/10 all round. Will be back regularly and will recommend to everyone.
☺ thank you chuck wagon for making my birthday one of the most memorable and fun ones I've ever had.
Comic books and burgers = awesome combo. Came here on a Sunday night with bf and two other friends, the interior is great! Great movie posters, random items on the walls and an old batman cartoon on the tv.
The menu selection is great, I had the Dirty Ruben and a Nutella milkshake, our table shared the string fries, chillie nachos. bacon mac n cheese and corn bread. The food was great, the serving sizes just right, the burgers don't come with fries, so order as a side, plus try the other sides too. My ruben sandwich came in a hotdog bun with yummy meat and cheese, although it was messy to eat, it was tasty and quite salty. The sides for yummy too, especially the bacon man n cheese. The milkshake was standard.
Will come back to try the burgers. Give it a go, a great place to catch up and have a meal with some friends.
Wow. Great. What's not to love about this place. Best burgers! And pulled pork fries holy sh*t.
Definitely my favourite place to come and eat in Adelaide! Can't go past the piglet n onion rings. Yuuuuuuuum!
Amazing time :). Although we waited for half an hour to be seated, great customer service and fast cooking time for the meals led to increased turnover of customers not at the cost of satisfaction! The costs were quite fair - 10-15$ per dish (burgers, pizza fries, hot dogs) and the entrees were rather appetitising. I would not recommend the onion rings; however, they're just as "good" as the ones at Hungry Jacks!
Pizza fries is a must-have side or entree.. I will be back soon for more burgers :)
People were welcoming & comfortable to be around. My family of 5 came in 10 minutes before chef finished & chef was still happy to make our meals as well as desserts. The chips, onion rings & chuck pattys were Devine! Downfall were the chicken burgers (dry), the seats were uncomfortable & the music at times was a but hardcore but other then that loved this place prices were good would definatly go again waffles were amazing.
Winner. Went in for lunch on a Tuesday with three friends and it was a great experience. I was greeted at the door by Captain America and was then excited to see that Chuck Wagon had decorated the interior with everything cool, ever. Movie posters, comic books stuck on the wall, a life size Batman, chalk drawings of Ninja Turtles - awesome.
We ordered plain fries, the mac and cheese fries, mozzarella pinwheels, buffalo wingettes, royal with cheese burger, Mexican burger and the Texan burger. Everything tasted amazing. Seriously. I could eat their plain fries for the rest of my life. The TV series of Spiderman was on the in the background and I probably could have stayed there for my whole life.
We spoke to the head chef and he showed great charism and drive for his business, looking onwards and upwards for the future of Chuck Wagon. The two guys who served us were both incredibly pleasant and polite.
Only found out after ordering that if we had ordered in Duffman's voice we would have got 10% off our bill, next time!
Will definitely be back and will recommend to others.
OMFG! Went here for the first time tonight and it was amazing! I will never be able to eat un-fried pickles ever again. Absolute foodgasm. Want to live here.
Great Dining!. This is my 1st time at the Chuck Wagon. I had heard alot about the place & it didnt disappoint. Service was great! Food was great! Especially the Chili con carne fries! Definately will eat here again!
Favourite Burger Bar in a Burger Crazy North Adelaide. As a North Adeladian there are designer burgers everywhere. Previously a Burgostronomy fan (due to living only 200meters away) Chuck is well worth the walk. Funky atmosphere, staff and great food.
I could rave on all day about the total menu (which is always changing), but the place is great and is a good treat to a long week of work.
I love the food here I really do. But they must have changed their wings because they were drowning in this super super super thick coat of breading and it was kinda gross.
Nice change.... Good traditional American diner food .. The deep fried Memphis ribs are killa. 10 out of 10 for full table service.. Good prices.. A very friendly and efficient young team .. Nice decore.. Only suggestion is have a look at the beer selection.. For American tex mex. it would be good to see such beers as millers draft , corona, Dos Equis, pabst , lone star, ect... Keep up the good work.. Consider a brekky menu for Sunday mornings.. The word will spread.. Overall enjoyed it very much an d left full..thanks
As good as burgers get - try it.. This place could become addictive if you want great burger type food in a clean and affordable environment. Each dish has good complimenting ingredients - don't forget to try the huge hot-dog (yummy) and always order a side of onion rings - they are great. Prices for food & drink are very reasonable unlike some places along O'Connell Street.
Very inconsistent execution, sometimes great, sometimes very bad.. I have been to Chuckwagon on very many occasions ever since they first opened. They started off as being the leader of the pack during Adelaide's 'gourmet burger bar' explosion. Since then however, their execution and service has been very inconsistent.
For example, I never eat here on a Friday or Saturday night anymore as it seems that any time the staff are faced with pressure, the food turns to a sloppy, greasy yet overcooked mess. During a quiet lunch or afternoon however, the crew at Chuckwagon can produce the most tantalising chilli cheese fries and burger you've ever tasted.
Some of the staff's customer service and work ethic is sometimes very questionable, although the original guys that started since they opened execute everything perfectly. Consistency is key guys!
Where else can you enjoy a good feed with an awesome atmosphere, watch Star Wars and be greeted by Captain America?
10/10

Pleasantly surprised. Had heard mixed things about chuck wagon but overall was quite impressed. the staff were really friendly and helpful. Food servings were very generous and delicious!! The chilli cheese fries weren't what i was hoping.. needed more then just a squirt of cheese, but overall, pretty happy for a burger bar. Would go back! reasonable prices too.
Second visit to CW & definitely not disappointed! We've tried the Pin Wheels, "The Royal", the Buffalo Wings, the Chilli Dog & shoestring fries & they were all generously portioned, super tasty & cooked well. This place has an awesome atmosphere & serves good Beer aswell as American softdrinks, Milkshakes etc. Always a good feed, we'll be back!!
Love this place. Inventive menu, kids love it, recommend the royal with cheese, one of the best burgers, reasonable prices, friendly staff.
Mmmm thats a tasty burger.. Ordered the "Royale with Cheese" lived up to its name. It was delicious. Great service and decent prices. One of the best burgers in Adelaide.
Dropped by after work one weeknight, good service, got the ultimate burger to go. Very messy burger, feel apart whilst I was eating it but it was still decent, probably the in the top 10 burger joints I've been to but has nothing on burgastronomy and the burger at street adl.
AMAZING taste sensation!. Been to Chuck Wagon a few times now, only for lunch and love it!
There is a great assortment of really delicious foods. Its very simple food, pulling on actual natural flavours, not fancy or frilly and not presented like anything special. When you put that jalapeno pepper, mushroom or wing in your mouth, none of that matters. Its the food that matters. The service is also really casual and great too. No issues ever there!
A taste sensation. Definitely recommend. Lots of parking around the corner too!
I have been here quite a couple of times food is good, Service is also good. This is one of our fave burger places to visit.
Just the cure!. A few weeks ago on a Sunday I was hot, restless and hungry, I figured a burger and a cider would do the trick! My husband and I arrived early and demolished our onion rings which were beyond awesome and then we respectively finished each of our burgers; I had the mushroom burger and added provolone and my husband had the ultimate burger. Both burgers were fantastic and didn't give you the 'heavy' feeling that other burgers do, loved the local cider and juice too! :)
Dined in at Chuck Wagon for dinner on Sunday night. It was very, very busy which is always a good sign! I enjoyed the "feel" of the place, dominated by the classic movie posters covering the wall.
Although the waiters were running around struggling to keep up with demand, they served with a smile and food was delivered promptly.
The boneless chicken wings were absolutely fantastic, as was the cheeseburger I had. Next time I will god for the ultimate burger which my mate had, it looked amazing!
Will definitely be going back, great stuff!
Loved it, have been back several times. All the beef burgers are delicious and amazing cheese sauce. Can't not have the fried pickles pin wheels and poppers yummo. Looking forward to checking out the new breakfast menu soon.
Really delicious. Had the chuck burger and chilli cheese fries. Wasnt totally convinced about the meat on the fries but was still yum. Burger was amazing. Good price and fair service. Will be back.
Delicious!. I love chicken. I was vego for a long time but couldn't get over my love for chicken. Really excited at the option of the Cajun chicken burger, I ordered it right away (didn't really look at the other burger options!) It was soooo good! Good flavour, not dry, bun is super tasty and avocado is always welcome. Wish I could eat the chilli cheese fries because they look great (vego option in future maybe?? Hrm??) Great staff, great food. Will be going back again this week to try the buffalo wings!
Absolutely love this place!!! I love the Chilli Cheese Fries, buffalo wings, Mexican Corn and the Smokey Bourbon burger! The staff was super friendly and has great customer service! They also have two challenges that you can do anytime. Hence the "Wall of Shame" and the "Wall of Fame". 100% amazing!
Great but could be slightly better!. Pros:
Great burgers, had the ultimate chuck and the cheeseburger special. Cooked perfectly and delicious.
Jalpeno poppers not what I was expecting but were fresh and delicious!
The wings were also delicious, hot but great in size!
Cons
Believe it or not they forgot the cheese in the cheeseburger, when we asked about it we were told no you cant see it but its under the pickles. We tried it and that was mustard haha we told them and they gave the burger to us for free and brought out the cheese
Also the ultimate chuck was just impossible to eat, the burger bun on the bottom was just too soggy it literelly fell apart. Great flavours but would have been much better to eat all together
Really friendly helpful staff. Nice range, a few different options like the portobello chips. Had the chuck burger, piggy burger, fries and fried chicken with hot sauce. The boneless chicken is still really flavoursome and good. Perfect level of hot sauce. Burgers are really good, a very filling meal when you include a side or two and really nice glazed buns.
Burgers are great and the people are lovely. This place has become a Sunday regular for us.
One of my pet peeves has been huge burgers with no taste. These burgers, however, are on the normal size, but still filling and definitely delicious.
The staff are friendly and attentive. We often sit down with something to read and we never feel like we have to rush and leave quickly.
If you're on O'Connell St I would recommend Chuck Wagon over Burgastronomy.
Sloppy tasty burger. Nice vibe and atmosphere within the restaurant.
Quick and friendly service and lots of juicy fried food!
The burger was tasty but hard to handle. The bun was really (too) sweet. I was looking forward to a healthy burger like Burger Addiction but it was a different taste altogether.
Better lay off too many side dishes because the burgers seem pretty rich!
We tried some spicy sauces but prefer mum's homemade chilli and garlic pesto...sorry Chuck!
All up? A good experience. Not too bad.
Tasty!!. Finally had the opportunity to check out that new burger bar on O'conell street tonight called Chuck Wagon. I had the ultimate burger, very, very tasty, will definitely be going back. While I was there I found out that thay actually have a challenge running at the moment. the challenge is to eat one of their commando burgers and a serve of fries in 20 min to have your picture dispalyed on their wall of fame. The commando burger consits of around six patties with double cheese! It was a little more than I was after but my ultimate burger was GREAT!!!
The most disappointing part was not being able to finish our burgers because it was insanely good! Chilli cheese fries, onion rings, the green machine burger and the pulled pork. Definelty will be back!
In a quest for Adelaide's perfect burger, we tried this place out. An extremely difficult burger to score, hit a lot of high marks but some more work needed. Highlights were; glazed bun, tasty & tender patty, fresh ingredients. Let downs; soggy bun base, missing flame grilled colour on patty. Overall a good little spot to cure those hungover Sundays.
Cracker!!. Came across the place after my girlfriend remembered seeing it on Facebook. Felt welcomed by the attentive, friendly staff. Even when the restaurant started filling up for a busy Saturday night, the 2 staff members looked after us really well.
I think there are far too many "restaurants" in Adelaide that expect you to pay high prices and then order your food and drinks at the bar. It was great to see very reasonable prices and full table service at such a casual, laid back cafe.
The food was incredibly simple but so tasty. A serve of crispy coated, deep fried pickles with ranch dressing for $4 is hard to pass up. Great little starter. We ordered the buffalo wings to have with our burgers. Probably not the flavour I was expecting but with the creamy, blue cheese sauce; awesome!
The burgers themselves were great. $11 for a big steak and cheese burger was ideal. Tender meat, double cheese and coleslaw with your choice of around 30 different hot sauces. My advice; stay away from the "mega death" hot sauce. We asked our waiter to test it on himself, he could barely talk to us after a toothpick sized taste.
All in all, another great burger joint in Adelaide but with some great diversity on the menu and good, friendly staff that actually wait tables!
Mmmm, Burgers. Lunch today at Chuck Wagon, burgers, although not the biggest burgers, everything was quality, meat was so tender, and if you add a few sides its more than enough, staff also great, like the sauces for free, the chilli cheese fries were a good size, the portabella chips were amazing but for the price a few more would have been good, had a side of fries and was expecting more for the price but they were crisp and fresh, overall will be going back and cant wait for the desserts.
Highly recommend 'The Chuck', delicious burger for $9 up there with Burger Theory. Love the chilli wall and can't wait for them to get a liquor license, will be a great place to go for a feed and a beer. Will definitely return.
Ripper. Really enjoyed it, burgers were great, sides are different with plenty to choose from, as someone else mentioned they have only been open a month or so, so some teething issues can be expected and excused. After speaking with the owner there seems to be some wierd technicalities with the liscenceing so watch that space I guess. .. will go back for sure.
Very energetic staff felt very welcome, happy with meal and starters definitely going back!!
Yummy burgers chunky avocado :). Fantasic burgers! The green machine with avo was really nice fresh salads tasty cheese soft roll and tasty quality meat. We enjoyed every bite. The chilli fries were so so...not the best chilli inane tasted as it waslacking in mince but tasty all the same. Onion rings looked great! Really fresh tasting food...but they had run out of coke?? As well as a few other drinks on the menu..as this place is new I thought a jog to the 7 day supermarket would have been the way to go...but Definately the best burger I have tasted loved the chunky slices of avocado...Mmmm I'll be back!
Decided to head down to the Chuckwagon on their opening night after hearing about it at Mother's Milk. From the get go, the service was outstanding and after hearing about the sides from our waiter, we decided on nearly all of them. They were all bursting with flavour, I in particular loved the buffalo wings and the Fried Pickles! The piglett burger for the main was awesome as well! American Sodas were a nice touch to go along with the Texan chef, hopefully they get a liquor license in the near future. I can't wait to go back to try the rest of the burgers on offer!
Tasty Burgers. Had this for lunch today, definitely up there with the best burgers in Adelaide (if not the best). The burger patties are high quality and full of flavour (something lacking at a number of their competitors). The service was also great / friendly. I'll go back for sure (I also loved the 1980's classic movie posters on the wall i.e. The Lost Boys, Goonies etc).
....Chuck Wagon 175 has seemed to be another trend opening. Located in North Adelaide this burger joint has a wide extensive menu with an American based influence. We decided to order a burger each and it was nice but was nothing too special compared to all the other generic burger restaurants out there. However the ' Chilli Cheese Fries ' are almost the best dish on their menu. The chilli was not to hot, with melting liquid cheese to top it with thin crunchy fries. This join is in the top 10 burger bars in Adelaide, and i rate it 6 out of 10 stars.
When North Adelaide's new American diner Chuck Wagon advertised Adelaide's tallest vegetarian/vegan burger, I had to investigate.

It had been awhile between Chuck Wagon visits, so one Sunday I (Amanda) grabbed a few of my girlfriends together to indulge in a hearty burger session. We arrived at 1pm and were surprised to see the place completely full besides one table in the back corner which we made a mad dash to! The place was buzzing within the funky decor filled with both young and old. We were brought menus promptly and instantly our mouths watered reading the extensive list of awesome sounding American style burgers, hotdogs, fries, sides and desserts.
A quick drop into Chuck Wagon 175 for a small feed. The stranger was here for their burger whilst I tackled their smaller plates and sides! Ginger beer and root beer Mexican corn: grilled corn on the cob with chipotle mayo and parmesan cheese on the side; $4.00 Now this was super rich and heavy. Luckily we asked for the parmesan to be on the side or else it would’ve been OTT with richness!
