Amazing food, that pork was so easy to eat, soft, and crackling was spot on, that is one fish you must try. Chicken roll (burger) was quiet nice. Kids menu fish fingers were so tasty, totally should be offered to adults. Overall lovely place for the family or meeting up with friends.
Menu definitely wasn’t what I was used but surprisingly was absolutely fantastic! The family and I stopped in for dinner before a show at Adelaide Oval. We had the rotisserie chicken, lamb and pork with chips and they were fantastic! Good music, good company, nice food! And also a very nice view of the river and Adelaide oval from where we were seated.

Sat outside. Al fresco vibe and sunshine. Creative and interesting menu. Delish! We had the beef 'chips', Southeen fried 'mushroom', roasted cauliflower, and baby squid. Enjoyed the live acoustic music by Jake Daulby too. 👍
We had the feed me menu on a quiet Wednesday night. First course started off amazing with the warm bread and beef chips as well as amazing dips (beetroot was to die for) moving on to the second course still amazed by how good salad can be! Last course was presented with a great selection of salad and meats but very heavy on the salt. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Definitely would recommend it to family and friends only heavy handling of condiments needs improvement.

The food was really really great....way better than expected and not OTT expensive. Outside are could do with a clean. Service relaxed and live music was very nice and not noisy.
Great place to have a few beers. Close to the river beautiful ambiance and good chilled atmosphere. Nice chilled music to hangout to. We only had the truffle fries which was very tasty. Enjoyed this as an afternoon drinks venue.

Went over to have a meal since it was recommended by the Oval Hotel. With the SA Voucher used, we were informed that we would get $50 off for dining there and that we just let the Malt Shovel Taphouse (MST) know. There was some confusion since the wait staff were not sure but were looking into it and thus left my friend who ordered the food in awkward embarrassment as we had to wait. While they were looking into it, I called Oval and they informed that MLT would charge the hotel and that they would then give the $ 50 AUD discount. I queried why their Oval Staff did not inform the excuse was that they had alot of new hires who were not aware. Poor excuse and blaming new staff, actually the. blame would be in lack of training.
Bec, the MLT Manager, handled the incident well and apologised for the inconvenience. We did not think Bec should have to apologise for Oval's arrangement and lack of communication to their guests about how the
$50 AUD will be deducted. Why make it complicated for the hotel guest? However, Bec's professionalism and sincerity in trying to troubleshoot as best as she could was more than what we expected. Just wanted to say thanks to Bec for her support and stellar efforts.
As for the food, it was more than plenty and loved the truffle parmesan fries.
