Fantastic vegetarian yum cha, great variety for both food and tea. Other items include a great variety of vegetarian salads, burgers which looked great. Totally recommend to any fellow vegetarian and everyone else :)
If you're vegetarian then this is the place to go... Lots of options and I personally prefer their Asian dishes. It is slightly pricey though , however pleasant experience overall
Went there with my family (most of whom arenβt vegan/vegetarian) and everyone LOVED their food so much despite being really skeptical of vegan food! Iβd highly recommend the satay skewers, SFC burger, mee goreng and the sweet & sour SFC! The only dish that didnβt completely blow me away was the gourmet green curry. Cannot wait to go back!!
Wow. Just wow! I cant believe that all their food is vegetation/vegan. My partner and I just had dinner from here and it was AMAZING!!! Highly recommend it :)
Great food and service :) thank you so much xxππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππ
Love this place so much! I am a vegetarian myself, making it my main go to place. They have everything vegan that can't be found at most food places from Asian to western food and at great prices! I recommend the creamy corn soup, laksa and satay skewers with coconut rice ππ»
If you're vegan/vegetarian and ever looking for somewhere to eat with your meat loving friends, this is the place! Every single person who has rolled their eyes at my vegan food, LOVES Zenhouse.
One of my friends took me here for the first time a few years ago because he said the SFC pieces tasted like popcorn chicken. I tend to go for the Vegan SFC Burger every time because, ugh, it's delicious. The Lentil burger is also really nice, and so are the spinach dumplings.
The staff are super nice and knowledgeable, too! It tends to be really busy if you go there around 1-2pm, so I normally only stop by for an early lunch to beat the rush.
Delicious yum cha and so nice to be able to eat anything on the menu! Loved everything we tried but especially the steamed buns, dim sim, crispy taro and all the different dumplings. Will definitely be back for more yum cha and to try some mains too.
The service was friendly and efficient (although it wasn't busy when we were there). It is more of a cafe than a restaurant - understated with counter rather than table service - but with this in mind I liked the ambience.
Can't wait to come back and try more!
The 'chicken' satay sticks are to die for. Good service and great vegan 'meat' dishes. A must try for vegetarians and vegans in or visiting Adelaide.
Decent little vegetarian Asian place with plenty of vegan options. Huge menu spanning from dumplings to noodles to laksa and burgers. Fresh food including the dumplings, great prices!
Small place, big menu!
In my opinion this place probably the best vego/vegan dinner menu in Adelaide. So many options from stir fries, curries and yum cha, to burgers!
The prices range from affordable to a bit more expensive, it's quite mixed.
The only downfall I could say is that they don't clear the tables when you are done with your meals.
I recommend ordering the Zenhouse Claypot Noodle & the red bean steamed buns. I've also heard the burgers are really good!
you had me at hello (Vegan and vegetarian friendly yum cha mixed in with some western classics).
Even if you aren't vegetarian you will enjoy what Zen House has to offer.
Everything is so damn good and full of flavour, which many vegetarian friendly places fail at.
Dumplings and their SFC are a must.
Great quality vegetarian fare at reasonable prices.
I chose China Dumplings, and Salt & Pepper Tofu. The dumplings were hot, tasty and served quickly. My tofu came a short time after, and I was particularly impressed with the tenderness of these, which can be hard to perfect. They also had a nice spicy hit to them.
Amazing food, so many different vegan options. All the food is vegan or vegetarian and tastes as though it weren't. A great variety of teas and cold drinks. Service are friendly. Good location good atmosphere. Always fast. Can eat here every day and not get bored.
For non-vegetarians we really enjoyed our lunch here. Two large menus to choose from plus specials.Β All of the dumplings were really tasty. The stuffed tofu was delicious and I was really pleased with the huge plate of salt and pepper mushrooms. They have a large tea selection too.
Big menu, serving vegetarian and vegan. I've never been dissatisfied with the food. This time I had the Vegan SFC burger with satay sauce. Nice fluffy white buns with fresh ingredients and tasty fake chicken. The portion sizes are big.
The service is always slow and food takes a while, but it doesn't bother me too much because it's a cute location to just relax and chat.
Considering hubby doesnt really go for vegetarian. I generally prefer a hearty meal over vegetarian. This place! !!!!!!!! Is just that. You wouldnt even know u were eating veg. I ordered all that was recommended in zomato. And all was delish.
Its not far from us so will be a defo regular lunch/dinner place in future.
Good clean food that makes ur tummy smile.
So tasty!! The Satay skewers are my favourite as well as the SFC and fried dumplings. The tea can be a bit weak but I like mine stronger than most!
Omnivore approved!. My friend and I shared a vegan satay with coconut rice and tempeh schnitzel with chips. While the tempeh didn't really resemble meat, the satay was disconcertingly did! Pretty tasty and fairly priced in a good quiet location. Service was friendly and prompt too - but then again, we were two in a restaurant of maybe 6 patrons at the time.
Great lunch today. Have not been here before, but will be back.
Always come here for lunch love it!

Awesome food + friendly service + best iced tea. Excellent vegetarian restaurant. Slightly expensive ~ 3 dish + 2 rice for about 60 dollar. The female waitress is very attentive, friendly and efficient. Will come back for the burger again. Adelaide hidden gem.
Great food, tea & vegan ice cream. Not a fan of the actual space. But we will return for a bite.
Amazing satay and mixed entree (spring roll, dim sim and dumplings) very happy, will return!
All for the food... Such fantastic food! I don't love the atmosphere or interior but it is sort of cute!! The staff are a bit odd sometimes but I will always go back because the food is so damn good!
Nice food, nice teas. I was first introduced to this place by my vegan friend. It's a nice, quiet little restaurant with tasty food that doesn't cost too much.
This place has some meat substitute dishes which are pretty nice (the SFC burger is great, and they also have Mock Duck) and also some noodle dishes and dumplings and such. There's also a large selection of teas which are also really nice. If you're vegan or have any vegan/vegetarian friends who haven't heard of this place, give it a go! If a carnivore like me can enjoy it, I'm sure you will too. :)
The SFC burgers are the best things ever but the burgers with the peas in them are by far the worst!
Great meal - red roasted mock duck, stuffed tofu mmmmm - and highlight was meeting vegan star couple Durian Rider and Freelea who were just gorgeous and lovely!
GREAT food, SLOW service.. The food is great!!! But the service is slow. I still love it and recommend it for a great vegetarian/vegan experience. And their teas are delicious.
A great find. I first went to Zen House because a friend on Instagram posted a photo of their burger. Ever since I regularly drop by to pick up a chickpea and lentil burger! They are amazing, but very very filling. I've also tried the steamed dumplings which are delicious, and the tofu salad which I had without the dressing so it was a tad bland. The location is good, because its just off Rundle Street. The staff are friendly and I'm happy I discovered this vegetarian eatery.
My favourite lunch spot in the city. great vegetarian food and good service.they have good opening times as well. try the Clay pot noodle or the satay sfc burger.
The best Vegan/Vegetarian in Adelaide. I have been coming here for a few years now, and the food is amazing! I love the satays, curry puffs, china dumplings and the peach melba iced tea. Tonight I tried the mock duck which was really tasty, not to mention the vegan chocolate ice-cream, which tasted like baci flavoured gelati sooo good! its really great to see this place increase with popularity.
Puts the yum in yum cha. This little place haas been favourite of mine for years. they have an extensive menu with many and varied options. there are some vego versions of traditional chinese dishes as well as 'western delights' for those who are that way inclined.
the tempeh salad is a fave of mine. the tempeh is so tasty and the salad here is always totally fresh.
the spring rolls, dumplings and buns are packed with flavour.
the SFC (salted fried chicken) is a vegetarian treat that won't fail to impress.
fantastic tea selection too.
i love this place and everything about it - highly recommend for vegetarians, vegans and carnivores.
Delicious!! Very affordable!! The not pork buns are incredibly addictive and the not chicken satay sticks are so good. So great to go to a place with so many effortless vegan options. Love it!!
Love it. Being a vegan I love this place, there are so many options and I generally load up on courses when I visit. The serving size isn't enormous but that only encourages me to order more and try more diverse foods. A win for them and a win for me.
Enjoy it every time. I have eaten here for a while and even though I am not a vegetarian, I love the food. Very friendly service, quick and affordable.
Love it. I love this place! The SFC pieces with chips are delicious! I also love their iced teas and burgers. It's so good to have a place that serves burgers with brown bread. One of the best vegetarian restaurants in Australia.
I love coming here all the time! The food is awesome and I'm not even veggo. Staff are really friendly also. The dumpling soup or SFC are my favorites
Good value and delicious food!!. Most fantastic vegetarian and vegan food we've had for a long time. Our favourite is the unbelievably delicious SPC! The teas are amazing with such a large selection it's hard to decide.the service is friendly and helpful too. We can't wait to go back as although it's not super cheap, the food is delicious and satisfying and excellent value.
The food here is so tasty - it's hard to believe it's all vegetarian! The fried rice is perfect. The service is pretty good, and the food comes reasonably quickly (not as quickly as some, though.) They also have a well-stocked fridge of cheap vegetarian foodstuffs to take home (like tofu etc.) This restaurant is perfect for anyone who likes Chinese food, because everything tastes like (and is) the real deal! Even carnivores love it!
My first experience with Zen House was mediocre, but I decided to give it another try after hearing rave reviews from countless meat-eating friends (all praising its mock meat, which I can confirm is very good). Despite my aversion to salads, I took a risk and ordered one with tempeh. It was marvellous. The tempeh was creamy and perfectly marinated, while the overall blend of textures and flavours was masterful. I look forward to enjoying many more summer meals at Zen House this year.
Super Cute!!!. The people who run this tea house are lovely!!! The food is really easy to eat and quick if you are in a hurry. Plus they have soooooo many teas to choose from. I try a new one each time and usually ask the waiter to pick one depending on how i feel
I love this place. It's nothing fancy but it's all vegetarian. That's a good start. A lot of interesting and tasty dishes. Some beautiful teas to go with it all. Price matches what the place is pitched at. I've been 3 times and will be back again!
Very yummy and affordable, dishes that aren't just Cantonese style sweet Chinese food. Definitely reminded me of home!
Good food. The entree of satay is great. My noodle is sweet but still good. My friend liked the Assam curry. Ma po tofu is okay.
Adorable, kitsch vibe. Staff are super friendly. Food is amazing. Totally vegetarian with a lot of options being gluten free/vegan as well.
Ice cream made on site is all vegan and it's amazing.
Definitely a place that caters to many dietary needs.
They even have tea for sale!
Went here for my birthday and I will definitely be going back again and again! The food was amazing! I loved the flavour of the mock barbecue duck. Fried rice was spicy but not overbearing. The satay sticks were 10/10! Curry puffs were light, fluffy and so delicious. Nice vibe, quiet location. Excellent range of teas. Service was prompt. Prices were quite reasonable.
