Great food and great customer service. Would definitely return here and wish I had known about it earlier. Peel St is shaping up to be the new go to.
Lovely ambience, and polite staff. When I dined here a while back, my friend and I unfortunately encountered an unexpected situation whereby the chef was involved in an accident on his way to the restaurant. The staff were ever so apologetic yet accommodating, and we were offered a discount on our cheese platter (which was yum btw!). I also enjoyed the pasta dish but was a bit taken aback by how small it was.
It didn’t seem that long ago when we were celebrating the opening of this new European restaurant and bar on the ever trendy Peel Street. A place where they encourage you to indulge in Greed and Gluttony – the 2nd and 6th sins. While admittedly confused about what to expect from this place back then we decided to give it a proper go with dinner. I also heard desserts were their strength but let’s get through the dinner menu first.
I returned for cocktails on a Friday night and the table service was spot on. Unfortunately the kitchen doesn't open until 6pm so drinks and nibbles wasn't really an option. However, we were still there when the kitchen opened so a serve of truffle chips was in order to soak up the cocktails. Tasty. The food coming out looked good.
Came here for a celebratory night on a Thurs with 12 of us. Service was friendly and accomodating, but the first thing I noticed was how uncomfortable the stool chairs were- for a table having dinner for at least 1.5 hrs, comfy chairs are a must.
Drinks were great, and staff happy to recommend. And the menu reads fantastically, a sort of European/Aussie fusion of fine dining. But sadly didn't live up to it. Sounds amazing on the menu, looked incredible on the plate, but taste was so average. No point in looking amazing if the taste is lacking. My smoked potato was lumpy and gluggy, the chips (truffle salt chips!) Had no distinguishable truffle taste, nor did the garlic aioli, the veggies were a nice variety but all undercooked and again not enough of the accompanying aioli to flavor. My mushroom tartine was thankfully flavorsome. Not bad food- but seriously underwhelming. With a great location I think it has potential but the food needs a focus.

I first thought this place was named after two of New York’s avenues. But, no, this little upstairs-downstairs bar on Peel Street is named after the 2nd and 6th deadly sins: greed and gluttony. Sounds right up my alley, given I am a greedy and gluttonous wine monster.
Although this one isn’t exclusively for those on a liquid diet, there’s also a European-inspired lunch and dinner menu. And one look at Instagram tells you you’re in for a treat, with some fancy looking dishes coming out of the kitchen. Probably no surprise given Michelin-starred chef Pierre Richez is at the hot plate. Although I might pass on the trio of escargot.
Amazing food! I dunno if anyone ever felt the same way, but to me it was those moment that when the food was SOOO GOOD that you just hope to meet the chefs in person and tell them how good the food was! From Entrees to Main courses and desserts, rarely found a restaurant that shares the same consistency and excels in all of them. Highly recommended x
Visiting from Melbourne, I decided to check this place out for lunch because I heard Peel Street is the new go-to street. I had the tapas of eggs and it was heaven! I liked this place so much I came back for drinks that night. They make great cocktails and their atmosphere is great. Awesome place to catch up with friends or just going out for drinks
Nice for something different but probably wouldn't return. Food was incredibly rich. Feed me menu did come with 4 desserts which was more than the entrees/mains which was slightly weird! Table was tiny and we had 3 people on it. Staff were overbearing and needed to let us have space to decide etc. quality of food was very good but not to my taste.
Visiting from Melbourne, we were told by many friends to check this place out. And we're so glad that we did. Peel Street is the liveliest place in Adelaide at the moment and 2nd & 6th would have to be the standout. The cocktails are amazing - you could spend hours at this venue with your friends and people watch. The food, however, is of a calibre I have never before experienced in Adelaide. Each dish was delicious and beautifully crafted. Make an effort to visit 2nd & 6th - you will not be disappointed.
Nice combination of bar and small restaurant. Food was well presented with good flavours. Generous portions meant that we couldn't finish all of the 'feed me' menu, but not exactly a huge issue. Main reason to mark down the food was that it felt a little heavy handed with certain flavours and portions. Still, very enjoyable; friendly attentive staff; interesting wine list and good atmosphere.
Have been here twice - once for dessert and a drink and once for lunch. Both times have been brilliant.
When we came in at night there was a live singer performing and chatting with us which really amped up the atmosphere, and the dessert was lovely.
Lunch was great as well - we got the duck (that sauce is divine), the pork belly (so tender and juicy), the squid ink burger (interesting flavours) and the truffle fries (just yum).
Price is a bit on the higher end but it is worth it. Definitely a true contender on the Peel St strip.
There's a new addition on Peel Street adding to the vibrancy for the after work/late night social scene in Adelaide. 2nd & 6th with its French Renaissance vibe is a new restaurant and bar from first time restauranter Hugh Nguyen. Bringing on board chef Rocco Tedesco to create a European flavoured menu focusing on brunch style dishes during the day and limited bar savoury items with the emphasis on desserts in the evening.
What can I say. Had a group booking here for Sunday lunch sesh, arrived with tables all neatly organised. Ordered the Beef Tartare (french) and Truffle fries. Food was a delight. Quirky bar with nice trendy interior. Loved the options of bar stools for casual drinks or regular dining tables for meals. Service was on point 👌 👍Nice place to catch up with friends over drinks or brunch 👍👍
Enjoyable experience ! The cocktails are amazing .. I had the lobster and it was really yummy. Nice warm dish, generous portion with 4 lobster tails .. worth the visit
Service was as fantastic as the food - the Saltimbocca Chicken was a little too dry but otherwise, great. Was kindly told by the waitress that the Smoked Salmon was no longer available and they were replacing it Ocean Trout but nevertheless, it was clearly the best dish for the night. I enjoyed my dinner very much and will be back again.
I'm pleased to say this restaurant lived up to the hype.
Creative menu, friendly staff, and cosy venue located on uber hip Peel St - 2nd & 6th have got it going on. My delightful chicken dish came with a side of truffle chips (yum!), and I also shared a plate of vegetables with my friend. She had the duck, which was fabulous. Dessert is a must next time.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Great atmosphere. I would definitely go back, and refer to all my friends and colleagues.
The atmosphere inside 2nd & 6th is very lively and the staff that work here are friendly and professional. The food provided by them is very appetising and is presented in a fashionable way.

During a visit from Melbourne I popped into this place after its facade caught my eye and did not regret it. Loved the interior and design, the artwork was a nice touch.
Spoke to a waitress and asked for their recommendations and to avoid being pretentious with all the fancy words and stuff all I have to say was everything FANTASTIC.
Had a chat to the bartender who whipped up a cocktail based on what tastes my partner and I like and it was awesome. Easily the best meal we had during our trip. I think this place is new because I didn't see it here last year when I visited. It's definitely the best looking restaurant on the street and the owners did very well constructing it.
Will definitely visit again and strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants something that will not disappoint.
Talk of the town on peel st. Amazing atmosphere and delicious customised cocktails if you ask the bartender, can't go wrong with this place. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Food is modern and enjoyable. Will definitely be back :)
Dined at 2nd & 6th for the first time and I must say that I was blown away by the incredible standards of their food. I first ordered the Saltimbocca chicken, but could not help myself to try another dish as I ordered the pan fried lobster tail, which to no surprise was likewise an amazing dish. I cannot stress how great the food was and I'll definitely be coming back!
I normally don't post reviews but this was honestly the best steak I've ever had - maybe even the best tasting meal of my life.. Presentation was delightful (as shown below) and the steak was unbelievably well cooked, along with the fries. Heavily recommend the restaurant along with the meal.
Was brought in by the unique decor and dined here last week. Ordered the steak and fries which wasn't priced bad at all for a restaurant located in the CBD. Steak was cooked to my liking and home made chips were nice on the side. Would definitely come back
We visited 2nd and 6th for breakfast only a few weeks after it opened. The decor was interesting and inviting and our food was delicious. The eggs Benedict was beautifully presented with just the right amount of a mild hollandaise sauce. The lobster brioche was served with chips fried in truffle oil, a real treat. The brioche was very tasty, fresh and just wonderful. The coffee was great and the service friendly. It would be wise to book with a large group because tables would need to be rearranged to accommodate.
