Best coffee I have had in all of Adelaide!!! I also had a focaccia and it was just superb. The service too was impeccable, and the owner Antonietta was lovely and very accommodating. Highly reccommend!
Don't expect much - heaps of space super simple food - quick service and strong coffee which is well made. Recommend for a fast breakfast and coffee. Big tables to share.
Excellent coffee. A place for true coffee lovers. Coffees served can be consumed immediately. Not too hot or cold. The coffee is slightly acidic but retains a robust flavour. Perfect for those who love their coffees with milk. Frothing is smooth and consistent. 10/10 would go there everyday. I don't understand why it is averaging 3.7.
Excellent quality coffee. This is a classy little cafe where the coffee is the standout. If you enjoy excellent coffee then, First Pour is well worth a visit when in North Adelaide
coffee is verry good. Friendly and bubbly staff. I like how you can buy there coffee and they will grind it for you aswell. Nice interior decore and yummy cakes and sandwiches. There coffee roast with chocolate hints is all we have in our house!
Wonderful fit out with a great range of coffee supplies and brewing methods all accompanied with a small selection of snacks, pastries etc. Although the staff could use a bit of a cheer up, their skills in extracting the perfect shot are second to none.
A coffee specialist - the bond street beans are sensational. Try something different as your poison of choice because the variety of coffee is great. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic young staff are the life of the cafe and the open style of the layout make it highly interactive. The food is pre-made, good for a lighter lunch, but the sweets will probably tempt you more
Excellent coffee quality. I ordered a soy latte and was so impressed with the quality of their coffee blends... it's well worth a visit!
Nicest place on Melbourne Street! Great staff, prices, meal choices. Definitely recommend any day! Can't wait to go back!
Great experience. Granted I came at a fairly quiet time so I'm not sure how this goes when the place is much busier, however the baristas really knew their coffee and were able to steer me in the right direction regarding their different varieties available. Coffee was regular price as expected for a single origin V60. Delicious, and presented with a little A5 sheet with comprehensive information regarding the region the beans had come from.
Definitely one of the top 5 coffee places in Adelaide.
If you think you've had good coffee, then you've never been here!. Working on Melbourne St myself, I've had a lot of time to explore my options in terms of food and coffee for quite some time. During my usual lunch time stroll down the street, I discovered a place that I didn't even realise was there; First Pour. I knew that these smaller, lesser-known places sometimes do coffee a lot better than the major chains, so I thought why not give it a shot!
As I took the first sip of the hot, leaf-festooned liquid I was in love. The delicate flavours in the coffee were distinguishable from one another, rather than just forming a bland, "generic" coffee flavour . For the first time I had tasted what coffee was meant to taste like, and there was no going back.
I've always found the staff here to be incredibly kind and up for a friendly chat. Not only that, but you can definitely tell they are fine baristas who love coffee and showing others exactly what should be expected from a "true" coffee. A good barista is the difference between a delectable, delicious coffee and an over/under extracted, burnt-milk mess! Along with a good Barista, a good coffee does involve using good quality beans - First Pour definitely fit this bill in this respect. Their beans are of extraordinary quality and there is always a selection to choose from! Not sure what to have? Try their Bond Street or Forza blends (Forza is one of my personal favourites). A coffee connoisseur? Try a coffee with one of the many single origin beans they have on offer.
Whether you're a connoisseur or just a regular joe who enjoys an occasional coffee, please try First Pour. You won't regret it!
The coffee was absolutely fabulous with friendly staff who had knowledge about their coffee...Must visit again when in adelaide...adelaide giving melbourne a run for their money with such good coffee ;-)
Fabulous coffee. Very nice coffee and a cute place. Will return for sure!
Great coffee. Range of non-espresso based coffees is exceptional, well-treated beans make the coffee here a real pleasure.
While I absolutely love the coffee most of the time I do have a bone to pick. When you go to a few places regularly you learn a few things. When you learn that the barista champ, and the latte art champ both represent and work at first pour (and this is advertised when you go there) it's a shame that you should have to drink the stuff some of the other baristas dish out when both those guys are sitting there, that was annoying but harmless if you knew no better. However the coffee is more often than not ripper and the place is cool with a cool vibe.
Great spot, very pretty classic looking atmosphere. Friendly barista willing to impart coffee knowledge.
We had a single origin siphon paired perfectly with carrot and walnut cake.
New spot. Was impressed with First Pour today, never having been there before. Nice decor and setting, good coffee and an excellent range of sweets. Carrot cake was nice and moist, coffee at a good strength. Definite thumbs up, will be returning soon!
Excellent coffee; friendly staff and good range of sweets. A true adelaide-style cafe, which isn't just a copy of Cibo. Doesn't offer a range of beans, but not many places do that anyway
Tim is a dreamer who normally drinks his coffee from maccas soups are made by an Italian lady at home and coffee is awarded around the world
Tim we welcome you back to try the expierence again
Love to see you
Well done. This is a classic example of people doing little things and getting them right. Every employee I came across while I was there seemed like they wanted to please. Ambience is superb and the food - while not spectacular is definitely of high standard. I will return.
I had a siphon of Single Origin coffee which was fantastic. I paired this with a selection of handmade chocolates, from Chocolate No 5 which were really good. A great place to refuel.
From the moment you walk in the door you are confronted with the coffee machine, it holds pride of place in the spacious and modern café. Around it are no less than 4 grinders and a $3000 kettle... Yep you read that correctly. At the back of the room is the longest list of coffee's you'll find in Adelaide (challengers welcome), with everything from siphon, to cold drip, to filter, to espressos, and everything in the middle.
I interpreted the cronut to be more of layered donut for me once I took a bite. The ‘croissant’ layers were evident and flaky however I found it on the dense side of things, much like your typical donut. Other ‘donut-y’ components in the cronut was the the sweet strawberry icing, sugar dusted on the outside and a sweet custard oozing between the layers in the centre. A tasty, albeit a bit expensive sweet treat to go along with my coffee! Follow the folks at Jenny’s Bakery to keep updated on other delectable cronut flavours they’ve got going on! Think: strawberry shortcake, choc mint, lemon meringue, caramel latte, cookies and cream, hazelnut praline, cotton candy and strawberry, salted caramel popcorn and so much more! Are you drooling yet?!
I was already buzzing from the two macchiati I could still taste in my mouth from UR Cafe. Why not a third, here, at First Pour? Could my heart take another dose of caffeine? You bet. A macchiato of perfection. Just enough milk and a bean with as much strength as a back-hand across the face.
